I just picked up my 2009 Pontiac Vibe today. The roof was all peeling and looked pretty nasty. Those guys did a great job. I have never used them before but if I knew the incredible job they did I would have them do the hood as well. Not happy with my latest visit to Liberty. I brought my car here for an insurance claim. Someone hit me and their insurance was covering cost of repairs and the rental car. When I signed the rental agreement I agreed to a $100 service hold that would be taken from my account. I looked at my account 4 days later and noticed an $865 service hold on my account. I referenced my rental agreement and verified it should have only been $100. I also noticed that only half the rental agreement was filled out on liberty's behalf and they also misspelled the name of the insurance company. Which in turn probably caused the rental company to directly charge my account. After speaking with Hertz they do not know when or if I will get my $865 back and Liberty says "it's not their problem". If you want to avoid a headache I would take your car elsewhere for repairs. Their clear incompetence has caused a lot of stress in my life when it should have just been an easy situation. read more

I was referred to Liberty Auto by a friend who lives in that area. Having had a very bad experience at a previous auto body shop I was a little less than trusting and willing to travel the extra distance since my friend highly recommended them. The owner was very responsive, kept me informed of the progress and finished it quickly despite being quite busy over the holidays. There were a few other things wrong with my car Including worn down rear brakes that I had gotten a quote on from another place but had not gotten around to fixing. Ok, I had an unusual experience which I never faced in US.My car's passenger side bumper had a bent when it hit the entrance wall of a car wash. First I took it to Roy's body shop in Woonsocket as it is just walkable distance from my home. But the owner was rude, arrogant and was showing attitude. He said it will cost more than $1500 to fix a minor dent. I knew its a minor dent and that guy was trying to rip me off, so I walked away. Then I called Liberty Auto body after seeing the positive reviews. Owner's wife Lois attended and she said its fixable after seeing the pictures I sent. She said it wont take more than an hour. So I reach there with the car and met Carmine. Here is the unusal part. He fixed the car in less than 10 minutes and when I asked for the cost, he said " Don't worry about it, you don't have to pay anything!!!" I was surprised to see that such kind of genuine and great people still exist in this world. Roy Auto body in the next street was trying to rip me off my 1500$ and Liberty just saved my day. All he had to do was to pull out the dent with a tool and he did not charge me since it was a minor work. He could have if he wanted to. But he did not. That shows the personality of a human being. This is a great place folks. I have lived in many states over last few years and recently moved to RI. Never ever I have seen someone this much honest and doing a great job at the same time. My car is fixed just like how it was before the hit. I will definitely bring my car back here if a need comes. I have already recommended this shop to my friends at work and other colleagues. Great set of folks. Our Mercedes SUV was involved in a rear end. At first I was a little skeptical but after talking with the owner's wife who also worked there I felt better. The results were awesome. They fixed everything back to factory specs. One of the rear end shocks was damaged in the accident as well and they fixed it to perfection. I recently had a front end collision and asked my insurance company (commerce) which local body shops they worked with. Liberty was the one in my town, and they said they would pass on my information to them, and they in turn would follow up. Now, typically I don't necessarily assume insurance providers will hook you up with a quality business, and I couldn't find much information on the few local auto body shops right in my area, so I thought I'd write this one up for others who might be in my position. My accident happened late on a Friday, and first thing Monday I got a call from Lois, the wife of the owner of the business. She had my information and I went down that day, giving her my full information and also meeting an Enterprise rental car rep there at the same time. Lois was great to work with and wow (!!) do they have a nice waiting area for customers. There are not many places which put out snacks and biscotti for patrons, not to mention the expresso she was happy to make for me. The repairs to the car were done within a week, and the work looked great to me, and the whole process was easy. On the down side, my only issue was that I asked for an estimate of the repair time frame when I dropped the car off and didn't hear from the shop until I called 4 days later - which was frustrating but then again almost all of the work had been completed already. I'd recommend trying them out, especially if you have commerce insurance.. read more

Commerce Insurance gave me the names of two local auto body shops where I could have an appraisal and repair done at the same time. We chose Liberty because it was close to our home. We are glad we did. I dropped the car off at their location and was pleasantly surprised at how nice and inviting the office was. Lois ran me home which was greatly appreciated. She also arranged for a rental car for me. The repairs took about a week on my 2012 Volvo. It still needs one part for the trunk interior but that will be installed in 10 minutes when it arrives. The car looks great!!! They were so easy to work with and customer focused. If I am ever in the unfortunate situation where bodywork is required, I'll go back yo Liberty. read more

It was close to my house and got great reviews so I opted to take my car to them. Wow I am impressed! They were super helpful and courteous. What can I say, Carmine is a genuine man who cares about his work. He personally takes in the job, consults you, and takes the pictures for before and after. They run a clean operation in a nice location, and the owner's wife is super nice as well. Our son sideswiped a tree while backing down a driveway. We are new to the area so I called Liberty Mutual for a recommendation. They provided me with a list of options. I called Liberty Auto Body and they immediately fit me in. The owner was polite when I dropped my vehicle off and joked with my son about the problem. The owner made me feel comfortable and that I was in good hands. With the age of the vehicle, I was concerned about availability of parts and potential for delay in the repairs. They were fast and sent me regular updates with status. The vehicle was done on time! We have had body repair work done multiple times and this was the best experience by far. The work, time and cost and respect for me far exceeded any work we have had done in the past. My husband commented the work far surpassed the work done by the dealership. I hope we do not ever need car body work done again, however, should it be needed, I would not hesitate to use Liberty Auto Body again. read more

I had a front collision on 495 a month ago and it really looked that my car was totaled. The tow company recommended me this place (I also found out later that it was Liberty Mutual's recommended body shop) This is ABSOLUTELY a QUALITY BUSINESS; they were very professional and set the right expectation about the damage and the time required to fix it. They have a nice clean location that really looked a residence than a body shop. I was called by Lois (one of the owners) in a timely manner with updates and this is something i have never experienced with any body shop before. The best thing about this place is the QUALITY OF WORK, when my car was fixed there was not way anyone could figure out that the car looked damaged beyond repair ! you could really see the ATTENTION TO DETAIL with every aspect of body restoration work. If I could give negative stars, I would. Several months ago, I was rear ended. My insurance suggested this auto body shop. At first glance, it seemed quite pleasant. A nicely decorated waiting area, a pleasant woman (Lois, the owner's wife). The problems started when I went to pick up the car, and was dissatisfied with the work. They claimed to have done the work, but the loud noise coming from my muffler, which I let them know was brand new since the accident, was still present. The body work was fine, the mechanical work was not. They claimed to have put on a new exhaust system, and that I had somehow scraped the "brand new" system in the few days I had the car. I think I would have noticed if I bottomed out my car. I arranged for my husband to bring the car back to them, as I was unable to take time off from work. When he brought it, the owner, Carmine, was incredibly nasty and unprofessional towards him. He almost immediately started screaming and yelling at my husband, and threatened that he was going to CHARGE ME for the time it took him to look at the car a second time. The overall message: don't be deceived by a nice waiting room. The owner was unprofessional and rude. They are not trustworthy. See the other YELP review on here that is virtually the same story. I wish I had looked first. See a pattern? UPDATE 3/8/16: Response to "owner" Lois: 1) I did not contact you two weeks after I picked up the car after your dissatisfactory work. It was several days later. I notified my insurance company of my dissatisfaction on 10/30, following notification to you. 2) The behavior of your co-owner, Carmine, was inexcusable. You can offer all of the excuses and rationale to claim you did satisfactory work, but the customer service displayed on the day we brought the car back was inappropriate at best. Yelling at a customer and threatening to charge them for putting the car back up on the lift? 3) The only reason this was not disputed further with my car insurance company is that I don't have the time to deal with this. read more

I rarely ever write reviews on Yelp, but my seamless experience at Liberty auto body warranted me taking the time to do so. I went there absolutely panicking over the damage I did to the side of my brand new car. The staff nicely and sincerely assured me that they will take care of the damage in a timely manner and gave me an extremely fair price range. Sure enough they were right. I was so used to auto bodies taking weeks to get back to me and jacking up the price just because they could. Was relieved to find out this wasn't the case here. I took my car in after being badly rear ended. This was my first time working with these guys and I will never go anywhere else. The part of my car they fixed looked better than the day I bought it. The only negative aspect I can think of is that I now need to get the rest polished because they did such an amazing job. You can also tell these guys take pride in their work. My front bumper, headlights and fender were hit by a driver backing out of his driveway. I selected this shop because it was on Liberty Mutual's recommendation list and near where I lived. I went in and all the paper work and rental were taking care of for me. Lois and Carmine were the nicest, friendliest people ever. A week later, I got my car back and it looked fantastic. Carmine also offered me additional help by checking my tires and had them rotated for me for free. He was so kind and honest, I have never met someone from an auto shop that genuine. He gave me his business card to ensure me that next time I go to somebody for my car, call him and let him know the estimate they give me and he'll help me see if they're ripping me off or not. Him and his wife are just the most easy-going people and extremely friendly. Their waiting area is also very nice and comfortable for customers to wait. Overall, I absolutely enjoy my experience with them! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I don't know if the other reviews were written by friends of theirs or not, but with my experience with Liberty - they don't even deserve 1 star. My car was hit along the front bumper, coming from the side by a car traveling at least 25mph. The damage was along the front of the bumper in front of the driver's side light, resulting in damage to the bumper, driver's side headlight, hood, and passenger fender (the other car hit so hard that it was totalled). Allstate gave the initial amount for the light, bumper cover, and hood and told me that the repair shop will find all the damage and file an amendment for the damage. I drove the car to North Smithfield Auto Body and they pointed out that my nose had been completely pushed over, and my tire strut was bent so bad that my tire was actually bent in, but they couldn't get the car in for almost a month. Police later confirmed that the car was not driveable. I stupidly took the car to Liberty, as they could get it in within a week. WORST MISTAKE EVER! THEY DO NO ADVOCATING WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY IN REGARDS TO DAMAGE FOUND AND REPAIRS!!! They were willing to slap on a brand new (so they could get the most money for it) bumper cover, light fixture, and hood...without addressing that my tire was bent and that the car wasn't driveable! They didn't even look to see what other damage was done!! They wanted to slap on the new parts, take my $500 deductible and call it a day, even though the car WOULD STILL NOT BE DRIVEABLE. They were supposed to call me when the insurance adjuster got there...they didn't. The adjuster called me when he was there, and told me that the owners were "nowhere to be seen" - actual quote from the adjuster. Allstate was standing by there original assessment of just the cosmetic damage. Again, the car was not driveable, and the auto body shop was supposed to take off the bumper and assess the FULL damage from the accident - Liberty didn't do this at all! I went there the next day and confronted Liberty about it, they said that the insurance adjuster had been there all day with them - so now they were lying to me right to my face. The male owner then came over and was standing about 2 feet from me - YELLING that "they had to go by the insurance assessment, and that he had a good mind to just slap the old bumper back on it tomorrow and not fix the car at all!". I calmly replied "Excellent, thank you," This was the first time that I had any good feelings about dealing with this awful company because it would be over...I could get my car back and wait for the original place (North Smithfield Auto Body) to get it in and be done with working with this nightmare of a business. I have no doubt that he expected me to back down and either tell them to do the work and that I would pay out of pocket with them to fix any other damage that they found...or let them just take my money, fix the cosmetics, and have me drive off in an undriveable vehicle. It's been a couple of weeks now, and NSAB now has my car...the FRAME IS BENT, and the nose is pushed over 1.5" toward the passenger side, out of specification. Liberty NEVER EVEN LOOKED for any frame damage!! They NEVER LOOKED at the specifications on the nose being pushed over, and they NEVER TALKED with the insurance adjuster about all of the hidden damage. They wanted as much money as they could get to cover up the damage, that's it. NSAB not only FOUND ALL of the damage, but ADVOCATED FOR ME with the insurance company to get it FIXED. They got Allstate to see the actual damage that the car has, and to accurately adjust the claim so the car can be fixed correctly, which is currently being done...not just cover the damage with new parts and drive off in a car with a bent frame! Save yourself a TON of headaches and potentially potentially driving off in an unsafe car by going to a body shop that will actually advocate FOR YOU with the insurance company to make sure that ALL of the damage is FOUND AND REPAIRED...not simply covered up with a shiny new bumper, light, and hood!!! I learned the hard way that not all body shops are the same. It's better to wait for a place that will fix it right. Going to this place is like paying these guys to put on a $500 band-aid to fix a broken arm. Just wait for NSAB, it's definitely worth it!! Avoid this place like the plague. read more
