Been here multiple times late night, and the food was bland as could be. I thought it was just because it was late, so decided to try again today thinking maybe it was bad because I'd only been later night before. Went for lunch and the food is absolute garbage. Got pizza, a Philly sub, and a burger none of which had any flavor whatsoever. The fact that they have so many things on the menu should be a red flag for anyone right then and there. The Liberty Cafe, Greenville, SC is an absolutely wonderful place to eat. The menu is broad, the service is great, and the food is absolutely terrific. The ambience reminds me of a 50s cafe. I felt very relaxed there while conversing and waiting on my food. Incidentally, the wait was not long, and the lady who was serving was extraordinarily friendly. If yall can let him go, I suggest you do, because he's going to cost you a lot of customers. I didn't read the reviews before we came here to give them a fair chance. It's not in the greatest part of town but we love cafes. We went on a Saturday for lunch and we were the one people there. The waitress was attentive but I think she was stoned. The food was good! We had the individual pizza, a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, the fried pork chops and a chicken fried steak. Everything was good and we all ate everything we ordered. I took one star off because the prices are steep for cafe food. It said the pork chop was 12oz but it was probably about 6oz and not enough for a normal eater, we ordered a second chop. This isn't a cheap eats place but the food is good. read more

Due to some car trouble on the way, I ended up at my hotel in Greenville past 11pm on a Monday evening. There were barely any options for food and I hadn't eaten since that morning. I was already tired so when the guy at the front desk gave me a menu for Liberty and told me they deliver until 3am, I knew that was the best option. The menu is huge so you should be able to find something that suits your taste pretty easy. They've combined Italian, Greek, and American food all onto one menu. We ordered a steak and cheese, half fried chicken entree, and an order of hummus. The food arrived quickly and more importantly hot and fresh! Nothing was soggy from sitting in Styrofoam for too long and you could tell the salad was made just before it went out the door. The steak and cheese was tasty as others have mentioned, but I gave up on it to focus on the fried chicken. It was so crispy and flavorful with just the right amount of breading. I would definitely order it again. The hummus was amazing too. It was topped with fresh diced tomatoes and feta cheese with kalamata olives and pepperoncines on the side. The only problem was that they didn't send enough pita to go with it. We even ordered a half gallon of un-sweet tea so we didn't even need to leave the room. It was $4 but I would have paid more for drinks at the hotel. It ended up being fairly pricey after the tea and delivery fee plus tip, but Liberty Cafe was a saving grace when I desperately needed something that wasn't a Big Mac. Well worth it too. read more

I am with a soccer team here in Greenville for the US Youth Soccer Southern Regionals from Texas. We drove from Mobile today and wanted to have dinner for about 27 people delivered to our hotel. We called this morning to see if that was doable and the person we spoke to was really helpful and wiling, she asked us to call back by 4pm with our orders (we were due in to Greenville at 7:30). When we got to our hotel everything had already been delivered! It was so awesome to be able to feed the entire team, who had been on the road all day, without going to a restaurant or resorting to fast food. The flexibility and willingness to accommodate us was very much appreciated. We limited the choices on their vast menu, to make it easier on us and on Liberty Cafe. From what I heard from the guys their meals were really good. I know my chicken kabob, sauteed veggies and Greek salad were very tasty. I also shared 2 Mediterranean combo appetizers (with hummus, baba ganoush, and cucumber salad) with 2 other coaches and they were really good as well. The food looked and tasted like it sat out all day then cooked in a dirty frying pan. Then I called them to tell them the food was bad and asked for my money back and they said we cannot return the money unless I return the food. I'm at a hotel on the ninth floor . No car they delivered the food so took the food a left the bag . They picked it up and a hour later called me and asked again why I was returning the food . I repeated to the Manager what I said to his employee she denied saying if I returned the food they would return the money then they hung up on me . I called back and they hung me again. We order from here frequently. This last time was disappointing. Never got our Gallon of tea. Also, we got the food three hours after we ordered it and was told it's take an hour. When we received our food two boxes were open and all of one shrimp and Buffalo chicken tenders were in the bottom of our bag. I would like to start by saying I went to the restaurant around midnight in an extremely agitated state. I had ordered food from another restaurant via Uber Eats and the driver stopped at a customer prior to coming to our location. When he arrived he said Oops I gave your food to the other customer. Then he left. I'll deal with Uber Eats separately. Now back on point. This restaurant is nondescript from the outside as it is nestled in a small shopping center. The interior is basic and consists of simple booths and tables. But..... The menu is an eclectic mix of Greek, Italian, and American dishes surprisingly all prepared fresh and nothing is from purchased prepared frozen suppliers. I had wings. Greek salad, and Souvlaki. The wings were fresh naked fried crispy and tossed in a homemade hot sauce. Wonderful start. The Greek salad had fresh feta and kalamata olives with a homemade Green dressing. The Souvlaki was made with fresh beef tenderloin chargrilled with just the right spice and served with onions and green bell peppers. The server Jonah was friendly and helped with all aspects of the experience. Greenville is lucky to have such an awesome place for lunch dinner and late late cravings. read more

I frequently travel for BMW. Whenever I come to the East coast I loose 3 hrs due to PST vs Eastern. Most of the hotels shut down their room service by 10 pm outside of weekends so due to the flights I usually arrive later. Prather than a bag of chips and a coke the desk person at the Marriott (on 1 Parkway East) recommended the Liberty Cafe (11:30pm). Worst food delivery I have ever ordered. Dad came in from out of town late, and I tried to order something because nothing else was open. The food was awful and service was worse. I was orignally told 45 mins and when I called to complain I was ARGUED with about how long it took for the food to arrive (1.5 hours). Food was cold, overpriced and just bad. We were forced to put the food in the mircowave to try to make it warm, and it became a sloppy mess. Worst experience Ive ever had in my life. They told me they had to come pick the food back up in the middle of the night for a refund, which I refused because i was not going to wait that long for someone to come back to get the food. Wow I was so excited to eat this since I enjoyed having it late night once last week but the phone call I made earlier made me question if it was worth the 31$ they charged definitely was overcharged the chicken wasn't spicy AT ALL, the potato wedges was dry and not seasoned, The ranch was WATERED DOWN TO THE MAX, AND DRY HOW DOES THAT WORK?? We got delivery and they were earlier than projected time, and the food was hot and delicious despite it being close to a 10 minute drive to our place. Whoever I spoke with on the phone said the potato wedges were better than the fries and he was right--they were awesome. we got the hummus plate appetizer which was delicious, beef souvlakia and cheesesteak and both were fantastic and the meat was super tender. Highly recommend for a convenient and tasty delivery option. We have eaten in the cafe before, a few years ago and it's not fancy at all but the food was great then too. The food at this place is always amazing. The wait times are always extremely long. I tried delivery and it was an awful experience they took two hours to deliver the food. We ended up falling asleep as they called at 4am. Thankfully the returned the money but now we are on a "Do not deliver to" list. The service I received while explaining my issue was extremely poor the person was rude and even said I was lying about the times. I then offered to send him screen shots of my call long. Plus, there's few places outside of fast food in Greenville that someone who works until after 10pm can eat. But our delivery driver got himself a nice $9 tip because he didn't bother to have any cash on him other than $3. It was after midnight- it's not like I could be the one running out somewhere to get some change for my delivery driver. I ordered delivery because I couldn't go out. I crafted an order thinking- the driver should at least have a $5 on him for me to get back in change. It'll be a slightly larger tip than intended, but that's fine. It's late. Food was good. Had a Philly cheese steak sandwich. Have eaten there a few times. Service is generally good. Family run. When i picked up my meal i could see into the kitchen. The chef was slicing cheese and a little boy five or six years old was picking up stacks of about 20 slices between his hands. I believe the other review on this restaurant is on a restaurant that is no longer in business. I confirmed this with the waitress. This cafe is not a 5-star restaurant as the previous reviewer alluded to, but rather, they serve a mix of American, Italian and Greek food. I got the lunch veggie plate with 3 items ($7 for lunch). The sautéed mix veggies were fresh; the homemade Mac and cheese was delicious; but the sweet potatoes tasted like they came from a can and drowned in brown sugar. The dinner roll and beverage were a nice surprise for a lunchtime price. He interior was nice as well but the clientele was a bit mixed and a little noisy. First time in was at 3:45am and the hidden gem was easily found.. Quiet atmosphere was great and the food... The food is so good. Started off with an order of felafel and warm doughy pita that tasted much better than other felafel I have had around the Greenville area, then came the chicken philly cheesesteak which was packed full of flavor, juicy chicken breast, onions and peppers, and cheese all wrapped into a soft but crispy sub roll... I plan to be back for more sometime in the near future, if you are in the mood for good food in the middle of the night... Give this place a shot. read more

VEry impresses with this little place - it is very clean and welcoming - has wi-fi and a very extensive menu - Italian - Greek - Burger (yum 1/2pound) - american and ven chinese food and some breakfast items. You cannot go wrong here, the food is fresh and not typical. I have a long list of items I will be trying in the future and one them is the hummus plate! I just ordered the Veggie Hamburger for lunch and I must say I was completely satisfied. It came with fresh vegetables that were placed on well seasoned falafel that was with a wrapped nicely toasted pita. It does come with one side and I chose the fries. They were also seasoned well.
