Because of…read morepregnancy, I was limited to taking only prenatal massages, so I looked up all the highly-rated places in Las Vegas and LOAM came up. It was easy to look over their services on their website, but to ensure my mom and I could do our massages together at the same time, I found calling them was much better. I had booked the 50-minute Prenatal Massage and my mom booked the 50-minute Thai LOAM Massage with a 50% reservation fee. We were required to show up 10 minutes before our appointments to fill out a waiver and survey, change out of our clothes, and get situated on the massage bed. We were originally going to be in separate rooms but they asked if it was okay to put us in the couples' room; not a problem. They set up my bed with the pregnancy wedge for my belly, and it was pretty comfortable. The only complaint I had was that I had a hard time breathing through the little head hole as they layered a lot of white sheets on top of the bed and made the hole smaller and stifling. I found myself having to breathe through my mouth but it was tolerable. For prenatal massages, they only offer light and medium pressure. However, in certain areas I did feel like I got deep pressure especially in my shoulders as I had a few knots and tightness there. Katie/Kathy was my masseuse and she knew exactly how to work out those kinks while still making the experience comfortable for a pregnant person. I still felt like I got deep tissue massage on my shoulders despite the prenatal massage policy of being at maximum medium pressure. My mom said she found her massage relaxing and loved her experience at LOAM. They gave us water cups at checkout and we left feeling pretty relaxed. I did have a bit of shoulder soreness for 2 days afterwards but that is to be expected for getting the incessant knots out of my back--shoutout to Katie/Kathy! Overall, I highly recommend LOAM for their prenatal massages!

Neither of us felt like our therapists were particularly skilled or well-trained, and the massages lacked the technique and attention to detail we were hoping for- especially considering the price point and the wellness-focused atmosphere. The space itself is beautiful and relaxing, but the quality of the actual treatments just didn't match the environment. We left feeling disappointed and wishing we had chosen another spa. Overall, it wasn't our favorite experience, and we probably wouldn't return.

A business shouldn't only be measured by its positive experiences, but also by how it handles mistakes. After a great massage focused on a problem area, I booked a follow-up appointment with the Associate before leaving. As the date approached, I received no communication, so I called only to be told there was no record of my booking. Then, a month later (on the same date I had originally booked), I received a call from the manager, Karina, asking why I had missed my appointment. I explained the prior issue and that no appointment existed on my end. A week later, Karina called again to say they would "courtesy waive" a no-show fee. I reiterated that there should be no fee at all, as I never booked that date. I also explained an Associate never called me as they usually do to confirm the appointment and asked if their approach had changed. She responded that she needed to pay her employee and close her books, which missed the point entirely. She also mentioned an email had been sent - I later found it in my junk folder, but I had no reason to look there for an appointment I didn't make. Had I seen it, I would have contacted them to correct their error. While I've had positive experiences at Lapis & Oak, I'm disappointed in how this situation was handled. I understand mistakes happen, and I'll take steps like booking directly through their website rather than with a person and checking junk folders more often. However, what I find most frustrating and the reason for this review, is the lack of accountability and the tendency to shift blame onto the customer.

I didn't personally use the inside amenities like the hot tub because it was pretty packed. However, I did end up going to the dedicated outside pool area to try to read and catch a tan. It was a little busy and no place to sit at all in the morning, but towards the afternoon, more people left and opened up some lounge chairs. The food and cocktail I ordered from the menu was amazing! It was worth the little price tag. My gripe, I wished the servers came around more often, and cleaned more often. So many filthy people who left their dirty towels on chairs, it causes some confusion on which chairs are taken, and which are free to use. Also, so much food waste and plates everywhere that weren't cleaned and sat there for 1-2 hours during the whole time I was there. It was pretty gross and the little birdies were having a field day.

The original masseuse found the knots in my back, neck, shoulders, and left hip and went straight to work. But midway through the session, someone else entered the room and took over without warning. First off, her hands were freezing. Second, she was completely worthless--zero pressure, no deep tissue work at all, just loads of oil and light rubbing. She "worked" on my right leg, but did absolutely nothing to address the muscle tension. By the end of the session, I was drenched in oil and literally walking with a limp because my left leg had been properly massaged by the first person, but my right leg received zero actual treatment. To make matters worse, when my girlfriend (who had the same masseuse for her entire session) approached the manager about why my therapist was switched, the manager's excuse was: "Oh, because it was her turn." No apology whatsoever. The manager just casually said, "When he comes back, he can request the full session be with the original masseuse." There will not be a next time. Terrible customer service, zero care for a client in pain, and completely unprofessional management. I would never recommend Thai Spa on Eastern Ave.

It turned out to be one of the best decisions we made that day. Charlie, who handles the appointments, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Even though it was a busy Saturday, he was able to fit both of us in that afternoon. From the very first phone call, he made us feel welcome and even offered a few additional amenities that made us look forward to our visit. When we arrived, Lucy greeted us with a warm smile. We were offered water and some delicious cookies before being escorted to a private room with two massage chairs, where we were able to enjoy the experience together. I've been to several scalp spas, including some very high-end ones, so I had something to compare it to. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my experience here. The service was relaxing, thoughtful, and never felt rushed. The treatment started with a wonderful facial and scalp massage before moving into the scalp therapy itself. Every step felt calming and professional. At the end of the treatment, they offered to blow-dry my hair, which was a nice touch. Since I have very thick hair and planned to dry it at home, I declined, but Lucy still applied what I believe was a peppermint or eucalyptus scalp treatment along with a leave-in hair product. I was honestly amazed by the results. When I blow-dried my hair at home, it felt incredibly soft, healthy, and smooth. Even several days later, my hair still feels softer than usual. I'll definitely be going back for another treatment, and I plan to purchase whatever product Lucy used because it made such a noticeable difference. If you're looking for a relaxing Japanese or Korean-style hair spa experience with genuinely kind people and excellent customer service, I highly recommend Siyu Hair Spa. Charlie and Lucy made us feel like valued guests from beginning to end, and I look forward to coming back. I'm always happy to support a wonderful local business like this!
