Amazing place right in the heart of almost Skokie and the city! You guys have to check them out! They have amazing ice cream as well as cool old school candy! I wish we could eat inside here the feel of the place would be great to enjoy! They also gave me complementary Whip cream for my dog, who was waiting in the car! You guys where great I had an amazing experience and will def come back!

This place is like a real ice cream parlor. So many fun things to try. Where I come from frozen custard is soft serve and this is not. But the ice cream is a lovely texture. Almost like gelato. I got a kid size cone for $2.25. a bargain, and the perfect amount. So yummy.

The staff are great and very attentive. The custard is always good. The baked goods are pretty good but I don't like all of the flavors. The candy selection is great. Lots of drinks that you wouldn't see in most places. Parking can be difficult at times, there is pay street parking across the street on Lunt and elsewhere.

The service here is amazing. This is a small place and because of covid they don't let anyone eat inside.

YUM!! First off - me and my family LOVE ice cream, to say it is our achilles heel would be an understatement. We like checking out different ice cream places and have been wanting to stop at this one for a while because of how darn cute is it from the outside. Let me tell you, this place does not disappoint! There are so many flavor combinations and sundaes you can try. They have tons of different mix-ins and on top of that have an amazing wall of candy you can buy. I got a fudge brownie caramel sundae and it was HUGE i like the custard because its creamy but still feels like ice cream and not crazy heavy. Can't wait to come back!

I wish I could snack here every day. The frozen custard is delicious, and the special flavors like root beer or blueberry, are always fun to look forward to and enjoy. My son usually sticks with a single scoop of custard in a waffle cone, while I always go with a malt of some type. They have other options such as shakes, floats, sundaes, or a concrete mixer. There's also a very large selection of candies that you can buy, including some I haven't seen since I was a kid in the '80s. Kids will especially enjoy this place, as it's got tons of things for them to enjoy, and adults can enjoy some goodies like they used to in the soda shoppe of their youth. Place your order, grab a seat by the window, and enjoy your well deserved desserts.

Great way to get that old school sweet tooth addiction in this place. Nestled in the midst of suburbia grab some sweets and visit one of the nearby parks to release that energy beast! Yes, I took the kids.. ENJOY!

Maybe today was perfect summer day for a walk to get some iced cream. Maybe luckily my frozen custard won't melt all over the place. And guess what? It was an amazing day and you made it even better. Your costumer service you wide range of choices and toppings. The place looks like i am 9 again and i want to get all the candy. This time I ordered my favorite custard and I feasted with my eyes all the candy I could. Thanks for being open from 12-10pm and opening my eyes wide every time I step in your place.

I think it used to be called Tomoe Ame, but it's the same as ever, though it used to come with a tiny plastic or even metal toy, and now it comes with a toy tattoo. The candy is a lightly-flavored set-jelly candy, much like a Turkish Delight, and the inner wrapper right next to the candy is rice-paper that melts in your mouth! I think we used to shop down Wentworth south of Cermak, and there are still authentic restaurants and all kinds of shops there. Nowadays we mostly head to the Chinatown Square open-air mall. This time we stopped in the Ichiban Candy & Snacks store. They have so many kinds of sweets, and yes, Botan Ame! They sell a trendy new ice cream bar, Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Flavor! Inside a fairly thick chocolate shell, the filling is like skinny long bright green sprinkles! It's fun and unusual. Even better, while we were there (Nov 2025), if you bought over $35 of candy, (we did :-), the friendly staff gave out a free ice cream bar as a sample! We all got to taste it. Pretty good! They have good old White Rabbit candy, like a white taffy roll. They have unusual "Chinese flavors" of Lay's Potato Chips we got Cucumber, Lime, Peking Duck, Five Spice, and Wasabi. They also have cans of formed potato chips like pringles. Other than the spicy flavors and the wasabi, none really have the flavor in the name, but they are all interesting, and every one we tried went well with beer :-). You can never go wrong with various flavors of Kit Kat. We like the original Pocky sticks and the chocolate-filled Hello Panda cookies. And there is a vast assortment of by-the-pound hard candies and chewy candies. We stop in now and then just to refill our candy dishes :-)

Everything is clean and organized, and a lot of the candy is loose so you can pack your own bag and purchase based on weight. There are also tons of packaged snacks and candies too.
