This is such a cute dessert shop to grab some frozen custard, a shake, or some chocolate. They have all sorts of cute decorations and nostalgic items in their store. I had trouble decided if I wanted a frozen custard or concrete. I decided to go for a concrete since I enjoy milkshakes. It was delicious! Perfect for a summer night

Came here after lunch. I was quite impressed with the nostalgic candy's and novelty items, some of which I haven't seen since my childhood. The place had limited seating and it seemed to draw in a line. Once I ordered, it take moments for me to receive my ice cream. Enough time to loom around. I got some astronaut ice cream to take home, because it was too cool to resist. I opted for a strawberry custard on a medium cone. It really satisfied my sweet tooth cravings. Not too sweet, very creamy and refreshing.

Amazing frozen custard spot. The way Lucy described it is like having a customizable McFlurry. The way to order is you can pick a custard base and either pick a preset "concrete" which come with various toppings already mixed in, or you can customize your own. They also have a monthly rotating custard flavour (it was Mango when I went). They have a whole bunch of different candies and chocolates they sell in store as well. (I bought a few peanuts character themed choco bars too). Ok so to all the 90s kids who's ever lived in Korea, the vanilla custard tastes super nostalgic. It tastes very similar to this vanilla ice cream that's in the shape of a rectangular prism called Excellent (like the literal English word). I was shocked at how much it reminded me of it. I think the texture isn't as similar since this is a custard base but still!! I was super excited lmao I opted for the pineapple topping and they blended the custard and pineapples, so in the end the consistency was actually more like a super thick milkshake than ice cream. I love pineapple flavoured desserts and this hit the spot. I also got to try a bite of Lucy's banana + vanilla custard mix and that was also super yummy. It tasted like real bananas (as opposed to artificial flavouring) and it was an amazing combo as well.

Fun, nostalgic and delicious. Purchased pop rocks, Charleston chew, bubble gum cigs and even some chocolate custard with real peanut butter to dip it in. Cute store.

Super cute and cool custard shop. If you stop in for custard for you're going to leave with more than that, I'm sure. They have all of the old school candies, drinks, and more! It's like a mini Wille Wonka factory in there!! I took my niece and she wanted just about everything her eyes landed on. We decided on a waffle cone with two scoops and sprinkles, she loved itttt!!! She also got some gummy bears to go, she drives a good bargain. The staff were so kind and welcoming to us.

They put so many brownies on my sundae! Fun old-school decor and lots of unique sodas they sell by the bottle. Friendly staff too

Okay, who doesn't love ice cream. This place is SO CUTE. You walk in and have to look at everything, they have such cool candy options from all generations and some really unique options. If we had my nephews with us, we would have spent SO MUCH MONEY. It's so awesome. I came with my parents and they definitely felt the nostalgia. They also have a wall of unique sodas - some looked absolutely disgusting but it was fun to read and look at them all!! Service was great and quick, they were eager to answer questions. The servings are a good size and definitely worth the cost. They have SO many toppings and literally an option for EVERYONE. Such a cool spot.

I couldn't find anything bad to say about Lickity Split if I tried. This is a must visit location if you are in Edgewater, and we have been here many times in the past few years. The interior is one of the coziest places in the neighborhood; it feels warm and inviting, and has a wide variety of candies that you cannot find at your every day grocery store. Our personal favorite is the crazy cake which combines any flavor custard you'd like with a cupcake of your choice. It's absolutely delicious. In addition they have anything you could think of from milkshakes to concretes to banana splits to specialty sundaes or soda floats, and assorted baked goods. The staff is always so friendly and informative when you need help, deciding on flavor combinations, or what to get! If you ever have a sweet tooth, you can't skip coming here!

Arguably the best sweet shop in Chicago , this adorable throw back to the 50's dessert shop is worth a trip. Custard is their specialty and chose from a plethora of toppings to create your ideal flavor. If you aren't into custard, they have almost any kind of candy imaginable ( including an entire section of Japanese candies ). They also have a ton of unique soda's. And if you aren't into that they have cookies and other baked goods. This store is adorable and unique -recommend !

It was pricey but enough for 2 people to share. Metered parking on a weekend evening was easy. My only complaint is that it had a strange, unpleasant smell inside (we were there in the evening during the weekend of April 25th). Also, when I came a few years ago, it had a really cozy, welcoming vibe packed with comfy couches. Now, it just looks like basic tables and plastic chairs, lacking comfort, character, and charm. I'm hoping to return to try the sweet potato latte and the other shaved ices, but I hope they do something about the smell and make the space feel more cozy and inviting.

It was ready within minutes and of course it's terrific. All the components work so well together, and that hot fudge sauce remains one of my favorite things ever. We'd already spent most of the day eating, so we decided to share the Atomic Fudge Sundae. It's a fairly enormous concoction. I found it interesting that the hot fudge was served on the side, but it's actually pretty smart because you get control how much (or how little) sauce you get. The ice cream is the highlight. It's creamy and rich, and it's got a really nice flavor, too. The hot fudge was less impressive, but that might be because I had already eaten a Ghirardelli sundae earlier in the day and their hot fudge just can't be beat. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was kitschy and fun. It's a cool place.

She recommended a Bolognese Danish, a Dubai pistachio brownie, and I added an everything bagel and took it all to go. The Danish was by far my favorite. The pastry was flaky, heavenly, and the filling rich and meaty. This is a pastry worth crossing town for. The brownie was fine, but maybe I'm over the Dubai chocolate trend. It didn't really come together as a unified dessert for me. I wanted the brownie to be richer, fudgier, maybe even a bit sweeter. I would probably get something else next time. The everything bagel was a good texture, but the fennel seeds in the seasoning took me so far away from the classic "everything." They overpowered the other flavors, but the texture was fantastic. Overall, I enjoyed the treats I got, would go back to try some other options. I would probably give this 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up. Also want to add how much I miss Hot Chocolate!
