My boyfriend and I went here for the first time last night. We've noticed it for a while, but never went in until last night. It was so cute in there! The name of it is so cool that's the first thing that made us want to try it. He got the peanut butter fudge and I got the banana split and it was delicious.. This place was so busy in the dead of winter, which is a good sign. The custard was good, though closer to gelato or homemade ice cream. When I think of custard, I think of the consistency or Andy's or Culver's and prefer those silky, creamy styles better. Prices are quite high here even for the smallest size available, but is understandable due to the mix-ins. Would go again, especially since it's so close-by and really good, even if it's not my favorite. read more

This is the cutest little soda shop in all of Chicago. I was so excited to learn that they actually have multiple locations. I live right by this one, across from Indian boundary park. It's always fun to grab some custard and sour patch cherry candies and hang out at the park or even out front. They are neighbors with the Red Door Animal shelter so you can say hi to the kitties in the window while you enjoy your sweet treats. :) read more

In the past, I would have given 5 stars, but tonight I just got the worst milk shake I've ever had. Thin, watery and missing malt I requested in my chocolate malt. Not to mention, the woman who made my shake had a bad attitude. It's was a to-go order and when I asked for a cardboard carrier (I also ordered a concrete), she grabbed one and tossed it in my general direction, without saying anything. I tried to avoid this place as best as I could, all that sweetness it's just looked like too much to handle. After having passed by it almost everyday, I decided what the heck just go in and try a couple sweets. Well that didn't happen! I walked out of there with a bucket load of some of the best chocolates I have ever tasted! The chocolate covered pretzels and the red velvet chocolate candies INCREDIBLE! I went to this place today after I dd my volunteering duties at a shelter around the corer and I must say it is a very cute coffee shop indoor and outdoor. The place is awful. The ice cream is way over priced. We paid almost $ 7.5 dollars for the banana split. Then I ordered coffee and the dishonest cashier charged me $2.93 for a coffee that was supposed to cost $ 2.20, it was the nastiest coffee I have ever had. If you want to pay a huge cost for a couple of deserts than fine, otherwise stay away from this place. The place is cute but the prices are not worth it. read more

Love this place! They are friendly and not only are their custards and concretes are perfection in a cup, but their coffee and tea is delicious as well. It's a bit on the pricey side for dessert, but well worth the splurge. Our kids ( and my hubby) are gleeful when I suggest that we should go. Also, it's close to Indian Boundary Park which sounds like the makings of a perfectly fun outing! The retro inside is really charming and fun. Tried the Scarlett sundae which has vanilla custard on top of a red velvet cake with raspberries whipped cream and a cherry. It was so good and creamier than ice cream. I have been a fan of Lickity Split since its opening on Broadway. I was tickled pink when I heard they were opening a place up on Western/Lunt. Went up there last night with some friends from out of town. I ordered the smaller size concrete like I always do. I was shocked when the girl handed me a cup that was almost half the size as what I had gotten in the past, but for the same price. The custard is good but not good enough to charge $5 for a small cup. I doubt I will be going back. Plus they messed up my order and my friends order. read more

Love this place. (Their coffee custard is the best, but that's one of the flavors they only have sometimes. Vanilla and chocolate are the only two flavors your guaranteed a choice of. The third flavor rotates through a variety. I also liked the "red hot cinnamon" and wish it was still there.)
