Lidl is a fine place to go for certain items because the Lidl brand can save you money big time. If you are looking for particular brands, it is a lot more hit and miss. For context, Lidl isn't one of my regular grocery stops. I am here like once a month. I stock up when I go. The produce doesn't typically look appealing to me. I will pick up the slightly heartier vegetables (onions and potatoes) and skip the rest. In the aisles and freezer section I will purchase certain foods that are cheaper than other stores (these vary by visit). Dairy is where I really notice a price difference. Lidl offers their own brand of canned cinnamon rolls. These are about half the price of the typical store I go to. The brand name drinkable yogurts are also a good deal. Lidl has their own line of vegan milks that taste good and will save you money. Their regular milk and eggs also seem to be a bit cheaper. Lines can be long. My typical visiting time is Tuesday night and lines are fine but when I've visited at more peak times, I've waited. They now have self checkout here. Not sure if this cuts down on the wait or not. Lidl isn't fancy or spectacular. You probably won't find everything you need. But, what they do have, is priced in such a way that makes stopping here worthwhile. read more

My son works here. Please shop elsewhere. This store treats employees like garbage. I'm not surprised by the reviews about employees being unfriendly and unhelpful. It's how they're treated. They work under constant threat of not being paid, largely due to management being unable to properly utilize the company timekeeping system. Then the company lies at hire and places employees at distant stores rather than the location they applied for. My son has been at a distant "training" store for 6 months now. After 6 months, and still "training" maybe he should be manager. This company lies to, scams, and cheats their employees. Do you really think they won't cheat you? And get this...they force employees to work off the clock to change the location of all their timeclock punches, clock in, breaks, lunch, clock out. This is illegal. You can't require off the clock work. Not only are they making them work off the clock but I suspect there's shady accounting going on. I believe they're trying to charge my son's labor to the new store that hasn't opened yet and declare it CAPEX rather than OPEX to the store where the work was actually performed. Doesn't sound GAAP to me. Lidl is a criminal corporation violating the law, workers rights, and their own company policies. read more

Look, this Lidl location gets the job done, in terms of going in, getting your food and getting out. Do they have what I need? Sure they do. But do they offer the acoustics I personally require for a grocery run? The answer is an astounding, "NO!" I really like grocery shopping. It's a rather enjoyable experience for me. Lately, I've had less than stellar experiences with a few grocery shops. But this particular one has stood out, and not for good reasons, either. They recently changed the layout of the produce section. And although it's not entirely bad, (it's actually a bit more spacious, which I can appreciate) the whole place is sooooo drab and lifeless. It's not a very welcoming atmosphere AT ALL. Just bright florescent lights that show EVERY SPECK OF DIRT in the place! That goes into my next point: this place isn't very clean. Like, AT ALL. I don't think this store has a cleaning crew. I've come on a few occasions and began to notice how dirty (i.e. filthy) things were. The floors are absolutely gross. The bagging area where customers bag their food this horrendous. I did not want to place my food on the counter because it looked like it hadn't been wiped in weeks. There was white residue that along the surface. Would you want to put you fresh fruit and vegetables there, There aren't many workers there. Either they're helping to ring up customers, or they're unpacking pallets. Someone one should really take a couple of minutes to wipe highly trafficked areas off. Or maybe the manager should hire a cleaning crew, seriously. The organization of the store isn't bad. That's never been an issue & I usually will find what I'm looking for. My issue is cleanliness. Especially in an establishment that sells food. They can do so much better. I really like Lidl. They have a great variety of fruits and vegetables. But this store has to clean up their act- literally. Will I still go? Yes. But if you see me bagging my groceries at my car, it's because the bagging section inside the store hasn't been cleaned yet. 2 solid stars. read more

Of all the Lidl stores in the area this is the worst. It's a mess. Very short codes on several perishable items. Floor plan is too big for its own good and employees have credibility issues. I admit to cherry picking their ad and saw some good deals which warranted two trips: last night and this morning. Last night, after I returned home, I thought my order total looked a little bit too high. Sure enough, cashier scanned three units of sparkling water when I picked up two from the shelf. Hmmm. Went back this morning for something else and the cashier claimed My Lidl QR code scanned. It didn't. Bottom line: I'm a fan but not as much as I am of their competition from the "fatherland." They still have a ways to grow and go before they win me over. I will admit to their "suspiciously low prices" and now know the need to "trust but verify" when I check the receipt BEFORE leaving the store. PS - the Pepsi Zero I bought this morning had an expiry date of Dec 18 2023. Just sayin'. Nothing worse than diet soda past it's prime. read more

We popped in to get some groceries. We picked up a few items from fish to vegetables and some fruit. We can always come in Lidl to find deals. We picked up a plant based burgers that were 30% off as well as some other marked down items that were close to their expiration date, like the mango pico, mangos and pineapples. Everything here is neat and organized. The only negative, we had to wait for a manger to finally come make the one CSR page for assistance to help with the long line, she could've stepped in and opened a line, but the other CSR was just as helpful. And for those that have never tried the plant-based burgers, here is my inside take: the smell will remind you of dog food in my opinion, but I followed the cooking instructions to the T. I cooled the burgers in a non-stick pan, 4 minutes on each side, and then added cheese and fried onions. I added a dab of ketchup to my burger and surprisingly the taste was good. The burgers were less than $5 (but since mine was marked down) made the 2 patties less than $4, which in my eye is not bad compared to what some fast food places charge for 1 burger alone. Will I buy it again? Yes. The burgers were juicy and hearty. The mango pico, could use some flavor, but overall I love Lidl and their products. read more

Went in Lidl to grab some Stollen because I had a hankering after attending Christmas Village at the inner harbor in Baltimore. Lidl has plenty of Marzipan Stollen and other delicious German treats. What I did not expect to find was a BIG. A**. PIZZA! This pizza was YUGE. And only $6. It was the "only $6" that had me talking about it for days. It was cheese, but I added some veggies and enjoyed that Big. A**. Pizza all week! read more

Checking out at this store is absolute chaos. Cashier duty seems to be the least favorite duty for the employees, and the customers are their enemies. Let's use this evening for example. The cashier on lane 4 closed his lane, despite the queue being several customers deep. He told the ladies in front of me to tell me to move to the other line and that they would be his last customer. (I had been standing in line for several minutes at that point). Also, the store is always one of the messiest and dirtiest stores in the area. Additionally, I see employees often huddling, chatting, and avoiding cashier duty. read more

There's just the appearance of variety and selection, but that's from weird off brands, seasonal stuff, and the rows of non-food items. There's almost nothing vegan. Not even one dairy free ice cream or cheese. Only almond milks. Only once, did someone who works there, act like they didn't want to bite my head off. Every other time I've been here, I've been yelled at because the cashier didn't feel like ringing in fresh bread rolls, because I didn't put in my app fast enough; other time because I tried to put my app in too fast... most of the staff here acts like they're being paid very little to be there (maybe that is why) with the exception of that blonde young man, don't know if he's still working there. I'm not one to complain all the time but I did once because this one cashier was so rude to my elderly and partially deaf mom. The rep said she would send a $5 coupon for that but NEVER did. My mom is obsessed with coupons and she was hurt by not receiving that coupon. I only came in here because I used to live in the apts nearby. Used to be a lot better. Every time I go in (less often now) I get less things, doubt I would even come here if not for my mom. And it's not worth getting one's head bitten off to come in here. read more

As of today Lidl is my first GO TO grocery store. I live downtown Baltimore but I was traveling all the way to White Marsh just to go to the store. This store is much closer to me and in a great area because I go to the Wall-Mart out here and Frankel Acura for service. The grocery store was the Biggest LiDL I have been to and the lighting was bright and perfect. They had a few people working so there were no long lines. I love the freezer set up, the organization, and the overall cleanliness of the store. I think that this is a great location, great parking and other surrounding stores in the shopping center. I find myself at LIDL because they also accommodate my Gluten Free Lifestyle. read more

Worst market ever! Because my wife owns several small guinea pigs, I am always shopping for greens with which to feed them. Lidl had just opened on york and padonia and because it is very near to my home, I decided to try them. Big mistake...could find no red leaf lettuce, no romaine, no arulula and no regular parsley. There were plastic tubs of spring mix, for salads, but no variety of greens that I prefer to buy. The meat department was very well stocked with chicken, pork and fish. There was very little beef. One thing that I really needed that day was diet soda. Oops. They sell no pepsi products and they were sold out of diet coke. Looking around, this market appeared to cater to those that prefer foreign brand names and more international fare. To my surprise I noticed a large bin filled with plasic sandals and though they had no diet soda there was a plentiful supply of canned coconut water. One thing I noticed was that the few items I selected were very reasonably priced. My checkout line reached to the rear of the store and when it was finally my turn I was glad that I selected to few items. Why? Because it was required that I bag the groceries. By the way, paper bags cost 7 cents each and plastic bags are 99 cents. My checkout clerk seemed to think that I should have known how many bags I needed. Well, I told her that I had no idea because I have not had to bag groceries in over 50 years. Hopefully this grocery will go out of business soon so that we might get a good grocery store instead. read more

I like the convenience of this store and the staff is friendly and helpful. Apparently, they have been having some health department issues with critters, but they take care of it. I was amazed that their diet cola is great and I am a DC snob. Their Italian cheese for pizza is delicious and the rich deli cookies are the best. Love their specials. My problem is with produce. As a single man, sometimes I only need 2 onions but they only have bags of lots of produce, so I have to go to another store. And often the shelves appear a bit empty. read more

This grocery store just opened up in our neighborhood, and so far we are loving it! We have been three times, we go shopping weekly. They have a great assortment of all kinds of food; produce, meats, cheese, normal grocery things. Usually we can get 99% of what we need to feed a family of 3! The prices are amazing. My boyfriend said it was a cross between Aldi (his favorite store) and Trader Joe's (my favorite store). It's amazing, check it out! read more

This store is perfectly fine. I don't see why people are giving low ratings for things that are COVID related such as low inventory or needing to stock during the day, which takes away a register. Someone also complained about it being European products and having to bag their own groceries??? That's a small price to pay when a cart full of stuff comes out to 1/2 or 1/3 of what you would pay at a traditional supermarket in the area. read more

The prices and variety are good and the produce quality is good but can be hit or miss. This location is frustrating because Apple Pay never works and recently because of it had a very negative experience. I'm an individual who is hard of hearing and I live with an adaptive device but it is not perfect or 100% total hearing. When I was at lidl on padonia road recently I was trying to pay with Apple Pay and it kept having issues. I was trying to get it figured out with the employee and on top of her being soft spoken she kept moving her head while speaking with me which added to my difficulty. I told her, "ma'am I'm hard of hearing and I need you to speak to me and louder." She said, "first of all it's not that serious." I was shocked and asked her if she spoke to all of her customers with disabilities like this. She said I was using my hands too much which I was because when I get into situations where I'm struggling to hear I kind of automatically revert to using sign language too, kind of a code switching thing. I asked her if she had any awareness of how deaf people communicate and she waived me off. I did speak with a manager about the interaction and said that I was not asking for her to get in trouble or anything but for it to be a teachable moment. The manager was very apologetic, but despite that I don't think I will return. I'm too embarrassed by the interaction and really don't want to encounter that employee again. read more

September 13, I just had a taste for chicken nuggets. I overpaid for them because the cashier neglected to ask me for the rewards card. I am one of 50 million Americans with chronic pain and living on disability benefits supplemented by food stamps. None of this is a crime. What was criminal; however, was the way the cashier came running after me screaming "you didn't pay for the chips, you didn't pay for the chips! I returned the full purchase to the store and demanded a refund to my SNAP/EBT (food stamp card,) which this store still has not returned to me. I cannot, by law with the penalty of losing the benefits, accept 1)cash, 2)a gift card. The monies have to be returned to the card. Their systems are unable to accommodate this. The burden is on me now as I have neither the food nor the funds. Lidl kept it all. The way we treat the least of us is truly telling. #shopAldi! read more

Nice selection of organic products and quality meats and layout is efficient as well. However, checkout is stressful as cashiers do not help with your items or even place them in your cart for you to bag off to the side like they do at Aldi's. One must bag/organize quickly while simultaneously paying. Is a rushed and unpleasant experience especially if you have a large order.
