Food was good. Katie, our server, was amazing. However, I don't appreciate the hostess (didn't catch her name, older lady in a pony tail) coming up and rubbing me on my shoulder to condescendingly tell me and the other two with me that they needed our table and we needed to leave. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that if you were a paying dine-in customer, you could enjoy the time to sit and chat and enjoy a nice weekend breakfast with loved ones. That felt short- handed after they got our payment and tip then decided it was time for us to go. We were there for a little over an hour so Maybe I missed it noted somewhere that we had a limited amount of time there, but I do know that there's other breakfast spots that allow for you to enjoy a nice outing without feeling like a burden. Disappointing, but adequate food. I got the burger, which comes with tortilla chips and their salsa. The salsa was good. Tasted just like a fresh salsa I buy at the grocery store. The chips seem made there and they say they sell Lido salsa. Adequate chips for a little lady, but when the plate arrived it looked sparse. Burger was dry, but bun was soft. If you want fries you need to pay an upgrade. Hubs got the corned beef hash special with scrambled eggs. Looked like a lot of food. He was disappointed than the corned beef was dry and didn't taste like corned beef. Potatoes were wafer thin and mostly crispy. No peppers and onions were hard to find. Then he got the check and found out it cost $15.95 then he felt it wasn't worth it. Must say our waitress was very attentive. She kept the ice and tea flowing. This place is called the "best kept secret" and it truly is! The food is great! I got a chicken fried steak breakfast and the portions were big and filling. Really good flavor. We absolutely LOVE coming here! Everyone is always so pleasant and nice. I've been coming here since I was little and they were on the other side of Fair oaks and California! It's a cute diner type location with tile floors which can contribute to being load when they're busy but it's tolerable and understandable. Went here for the first time with a friend who highly recommended this place. I literally tasted a spoonful of salt in my country potatoes. I told the waiter and I asked if he can remake it but honestly I did not taste the second plate. I was scared to taste more salt. The waiter did tell us that they have a new cook. Had lunch here for the first time with my parents and wifey on January 1st. I called ahead days before to make sure they were open. FOOD *** I had the Florentine Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs should have been runny, but they tasted like hard boiled eggs. Other than the disappointing texture, the taste was not bad. A side of sausages was average, but hit the spot. DRINKS **** Surprised that they were out of bananas for the milk shake. However, they were kind enough to make strawberry milk shake for me (not on menu). Milk shake was good, but would have liked it a bit thicker. Wifey had a double shot latte that she really enjoyed. I took a sip and felt like I was eating coffee beans: pretty strong. Lol SERVICE ***1/2 Our waitress was friendly but not very attentive. I had to remind her to get our toast and at times, it was difficult to get her attention. Our hostess (I'm guessing either owner or manager) was very good. OVERALL ***1/2 I really wished the eggs were done right in the Eggs Benedict. That sort of degraded the experience. I ordered an iced mocha and the Domino. The drink came out pretty quickly and had a good amount of chocolate flavor. The sandwich was a decent size and had lots of turkey on it. Homemade biscuits, coffee cake, cookies. Amazing menu. They serve beer, wine, mimosas, they even have manmosa which is almost $12 but double the size of a regular mimosa. Excellent service, busy place which is surprising for a Monday at noon in Carmichael. This must be a popular lunch stop for the locals. We just stopped here after my Dr appointment. I had a Miss Piggy Omelet which was eggs with two types of cheese & bacon. It came with some lovely sliced fried potatoes, and a choice of bread. I ordered the biscuit. I was very happy with the food, terrific. I was however not impressed, nor did I finish the biscuit. I will give Lido Cafe one piece of advise. Do something about that dried up biscuit. Get a new recipe, don't leave em in the oven so long that they become a hockey puck. But I'm not holding it against them, maybe it was an off day. Always excellent food and service. This is my favorite local breakfast place to eat. I really enjoy their bagel and lox breakfast, just perfect combination of smoked salmon, capers, tomato and cucumbers, and thinly sliced red inion, on a lovely toasted bagel. The star of their breakfast menu, in my opinion, is their blue berry pancake, but i also love their French toast. Its hard to choose between them. Their chicken fried stake is a regular choice for my husband and the egg-white omelet is a regular choice for my calorie-counting friends. I did tell the waitress it was the worst BLT sandwich I ever had. The bacon were in bits and pieces. It's as if they used the left over bacon sitting there since breakfast, crispy, thin and in pieces. Expressed this to my waitress, with a reply, "I am sorry".
