Alright, I'm gonna be super honest here. I'm not a huge fan of sports in general. So that means that I'm not on the hunt for sporty gear that often. Once in a blue moon, I might plan to go to a Lakers game, Ducks game, or Angel's game. But this doesn't happen often. Based off of that information, you can tell that I am not a die heard fan of anything.... Well except food lol Hence why I love the Yelp community haha That being said, my boyfriend and I stopped in here the weekend before the Superbowl. We thought it would be cool to pick a team and root for them. That makes the Superbowl more exciting to watch right? Otherwise, who cares lol And half-time shows are hit or miss. This last Superbowl seemed like it was low budget or something (snore). Anyway, we stopped in here looking for Chief hats to rock on Sunday during the Superbowl. Well, we found them at Lids Locker Room. But they were so over-priced! You want me to pay $50 for a hat that I'm gonna wear once and then throw in the closet?!?! Lids Locker Room is like the regular Lids store except they sell other merchandise like shirts, jerseys, mugs, jackets etc. I enjoy shopping here because they sell non local team merchandise. I am a Red Sox and Celtics fan and I've bought many hats and shirts here. The staff is also helpful and friendly which is a major plus. I recommend shopping here you are a sports fan of any sports team. The staff is very helpful and friendly which is a plus. This is my favorite store at Irvine Spectrum . The guys that work here are jovial, super friendly, and make you feel welcome. They honestly make it a pleasure to shop here! So, it was the afternoon of Friday 01/01/21... My wife and I walked into the LIDS inside the Irvine Spectrum because she had wanted to get me an authentic Laker item. We walked in, saw some nice light blue jerseys on the wall and inquired about the price. The clerk then responded "they are expensive" to which I replied "what is expensive ?" He then said about $300. WHY ? Why is it that two Hispanics walk into a store located inside the Irvine Spectrum and are told the product which they are asking about is "expensive" ? Absolutely horrible customer service. They don't say Hi, they don't ask if you need help and they don't even say thanks after you purchase a merchandise. When I went there on 06/04/22 around 2pm there was a Dark hair girl working and an African American tall skinny guy working. I have been into many Lids stores in the past, but this is a Lids Locker Room where they carry sports jerseys, T-shirts, socks, and memorabilia besides caps. I am perplexed by the bad reviews here as I walked in and was greeted right away by a staff member who asked if I needed any help. He informed me that all T-shirts that day were buy one, get one half off. I was looking for a birthday present for my mom who loves Shohei Ohtani and was pleased to find a T-shirt that I had been wanting to get her that I saw online. I asked him if they had another of the same shirt in the same size I picked up, for a gift for myself (and to take advantage of the current sale), and he promptly went into the back and produced an additional shirt for me which was awesome ;) I saw a lot of cool baseball caps I liked here, too. The store was pretty busy on the weekend morning I visited and there were people asking staff members to get closer looks at the many cool basketball jerseys they had behind the counter. They is a lot of football, baseball, basketball, and hockey stuff to check out. It is one stop shop for sports fans and also a great place to get gifts for your family and friends. read more

The two and half stars Yelp review is misleading. Today's visit was hands down a five star visit. The guys were busy but as soon as I walked in they immediately stopped what they were doing to help me and this is exactly how every business should run their business. If you're at the Irvine Spectrum, there are two Lids store. One is the Lids store that only sells hats, and the other is called Lids Locker Room. They have jersey, memorabilia and hats as well. The selection of hats is not as big and unique as the other Lids but because the service is so bad at that store, I decided to come and do my shopping here (at the Lids Locker Room). The service seems way better here as two people came and helped me out right away and really tried their best to accommodate me. I didn't find all the hats I've been looking for here but it still gave me a good feeling being in this store because of the service. Abby really was very personable and cool! Thank you for your service! Hopefully they teach people to interact like her by being herself and doing her job as well. read more

Wow ... I'm surprised so there are so many negative reviews for this place. I walked in and was greeted by almost everyone in the store and asked if I needed help to just ask. As I was browsing around, I found a particular hat that caught my attention and Chris quickly came over and asked if he could help me find a size. For some reason I couldn't find a 7 1/4 but within seconds he did. Tried it on to make sure and then made the purchase. Was in and out within 10 minutes. Visited Lids Locker Room at Irvine Spectrum with my husband earlier this week to return a hat for my son. The cashier told me I needed the debit card my son used to return it, and since I didn't have it I would need to wait 1/2 hour for the assistant manager to arrive. I waited, since we live over an hour away. I explained the situation to the store manager, and he started telling me how they aren't supposed to do a return unless they put it back on the original card, at which point my husband interrupted and said that the return policy on the receipt doesn't state that. Well, that's when things really went bad. The manager became indignant and repeatedly stated that he was "offended", "really offended" at least 3-4 times, by being interrupted. He was so loud and shaky it scared me. He stated that he had planned to help me, but may not do the return since my husband was "rude" by not allowing him to finish his sentence. (How could he have known my husband had a cardiac arrest recently, barely surviving it and having significant brain damage that affects his communication skills--I almost explained this but chose not to.) He went on to call my husband "G"... and "dude" and told him he would refund the hat to my debit card..."anything to get us out of 'his' store". My husband is African American, and I am Caucasian, and given the manager's reference to my husband as "G" (odd thing to call a senior citizen, lol) I wonder if this had something to do with the disrespect. Sure wish we had all the money back we spent at Lids over the last 35 years on products for our three sons. Will never give this establishment another dime. read more

Not sure what's the reasoning for the poor reviews. I came here and found the service very helpful. They have a wide selection of sports merchandise and the Custom Jersey machine is super dope. You can get any custom jersey and it takes only about 45-60 mins! Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area. read more

Lids and Lids Locker Room are two different shops located about 50 yards from each other. The Locker Room has the usual selection of hats, but also jerseys and other schlockly sports tchotchkes. This is where you can get decorations for your kids room or man cave and find things like Angels ornaments, a Lakers santa hat, and random bobbleheads. It's not really a place for collectors as pretty much everything here is mass marketed, but could be a decent place to browse if you have time to kill. The one thing the Locker Room has going for it is that you can order online and pick things up in the store. That comes in handy when you find one cheap sale item online and want to avoid shipping costs. read more

Terrible customer service and follow up. I had placed a custom embroidery order at the MV mall store which was promised to be finished 3 days later. No follow up until a week later when I had to track them down, only to find out that they completely messed up the order (and then the "manager" just up and quit). I had to take the issue to the Irvine location because nobody was left who knew how to embroider at the MV mall location. Now the Irvine store says they will not replace the hats that have been messed up. They originally told me they would replace the blank hats that had been wrongly embroidered, but over 4 months later they never contacted me or even call me back. Once I was able to get ahold of them (after several calls during that 4 months), they said I am out of luck and they refuse to correct the error or reimburse me for the hats (which total over $100). The store manager told me that it wasn't their problem anymore. Now they have left me and a my whole team hanging. I used to get all my hats from Lids. Not anymore! Very disappointed. read more

My fiancé and I came to this store around 8pm tonight to see if they by chance had a Jersey I had looked everywhere for. Daniel was the only one working and was so helpful in getting me exactly what I was looking for and making sure I got the best deal on it. We got the jersey embroidered with a player name and were expecting to have to come back tomorrow to pick it up since they closed in under an hour, but Daniel called me about 25 minutes after we left the store saying my jersey was ready for pick up. He had asked before we left if we were planning to hang out in the Spectrum and I told him we were going to dinner so he knew we would be around. He made my life easier as a father and as a customer by being supportive and overall friendly throughout the entire process. $50+ for a hat to be embroidered and the writing on the back was obviously done wrong. The guy working who does embroidery wasn't who did it so he offered to fix it which was totally cool with. I walk out, check back few minutes later, they started another hat instead of redoing mine? Totally not cool... Gave this 2 stars because I was refunded which was a given seeing the quality in the stitching and the obvious misplacement of the rear writing. Totally could've been a salvaged experience had they not started a hat that was purchased after me and them offering to redo my hat. read more

This is a worst shop ever. We needed to get 20 hats with our logotype for very important event. I sent our logo at Friday. They told me about they need 3 business day for changing format of logo. And my 20 hats going to be ready at next Friday. And what? NOTHING! They sent my logo to office only at Thursday. And of course, prepare my order before the Event - impossible. Most awful service I have experienced in a while. Today I tried to finish up some last minute Christmas shopping with my toddler in tow. I entered the store with my toddler in his stroller eating a cup of ice cream from a near by shop. I made my selection and was standing near the register when I was told by a sales associate that there was no food allowed in the store and I would have to leave. It's almost as if the store is in the business of NOT making sales. I came in tonight 1/12 @ about 7 pm. Wetzel pretzel is their neighbor so I had a pretzel in my hand. I'm 8 months pregnant and I couldn't resist. So I came in for their hat sale special. Upon 5 minutes, Jose- the manager on duty so he says- stated he did not want us to eat inside store. From what I recall there was no sign that said no outside food or drinks. I mean it's an outdoor mall with food places at every corner. He then pointed down to some crumbs and yelled out this is exactly why I don't want you to eat here! With such grotesque attitude and demeanor. First of all- your nightly duty is to sweep and broom up. Why did he feel entitled to speak to me in that way ? Secondly, don't ever feel that you're allowed to make adults feel like children being disciplined. I work in retail myself and at the spectrum also and would NEVER tell a customer that. People break, spill stuff all the time! And guess what? I have to do my job and pick it up with a smile. I am in awe. I placed back the hat I was going to purchase and will never spend a dime here again. So Lids, please thank your lazy, entitled, rude employee Jose! Cost you about 5 customers. read more
