This is my 3rd time ordering food and the most disappointing. I ordered a vermicelli bowl like the previous two times. And waited 30 mins for my food to come. I ordered it to go since I'm right around the corner and less than 5 mins to my destination. I begin eating and everything is cold except the pork egg roll Lol I'm not exactly sure what I was waiting on. I assumed the food was coming hot off the grill but clearly had been waiting for quite some time. Hopefully they'll do better. My take-out vermicelli bowl ($8 base) was simple but effective: thinly sliced marinated beef (+$2), some pickled veggies, a salty fried egg (+$1.25), fried egg roll (+$1.25), with a container of my chosen lemon anchovy fish sauce. I poured the sauce over and then violently shook the closed container to incorporate everything evenly. The chewy beef had heavy lemongrass flavor and played nicely with the crunchy vegetables and soft vermicelli for a sweet, pungent, and umami experience. Came in for a to place a to-go order. The cashier asked me again if it was "to go" and I said "yes" to confirm. I sat down for about 20 minutes waiting for my order and the same cashier asked if I had placed a to go order. Again, I said "yes". I waited about another 20 minutes and was the only patron in the restaurant. A worker asked me if I was ordering or if it was takeout as they finally noticed. Again, I had to repeat I put an order to go. I went back up to the cashier to explain what I ordered and found out it had already been made but they never let me know. Then they kept on insisting I ordered Thai tea when I had not ( I ordered Pandan tea). I get it, they misheard but why argue with me? Why would I order something and then switch my mind after I placed the order? The man said it was ok- he'll make it again. When he handed it to me, it was a strange greenish orange and when I took a sip- I knew then he just mixed it with the Thai tea they mistakenly made. This was my 4th time here but will be my last. It's unfortunate because I would love to support a small business (especially a Vietnamese one) but the service here is nonexistent. Next time - if a customer places an order to-go, write it down so you don't ask 3x. Also, itemize your receipt so there isn't confusion of what was ordered or at least repeat the order. You have to order from the counter and they will bring out the food to you. The drinks are to die for. I will definitely try the drinks. It's counter service - we ordered shrimp/pork belly spring rolls as an appetizer and I got the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and an overeasy egg. The spring rolls were big and packed with shrimp and pork - they definitely weren't skimping! The grilled pork in my bowl was amazingly seasoned and nicely fatty. Everything was very reasonably priced as well. The service was a bit spotty - it took a bit for them to bring waters out, and we were given takeout containers and silverware even though we were dining in. They were fully staffed and seemed to already have all of the kinks worked out. It is small fast paced with a nice dining area and really easy for take out. I had the Banh Mi, Grilled Pork Spring Rolls and my Husband had the Pho Ga both were right on point. I observed a table that was sharing Crawfish and Fried Rice that all looked amazing. The plate of fried rice has a very generous portion that was being shared by 4 people. The crawfish are $8.99 /lb and they offer a special with 3 lbs it includes corn and potatoes.....I live just a few blocks away and fully welcome them to the neighborhood. This place was fantastic!!! We were so happy with everything! We ordered the shrimp spring roll which had 2 huge spring rolls with two rows of whole shrimp. My mom got the vermicelli bowl with shrimp with 9 large shrimp in it, cooked to perfection! I got the pork vermicelli bowl and it was also delicious! Such attention to detail! We were so tickled to find such an amazing restaurant so close to our hotel!! We will absolutely be back!! We ended our meal with a perfect cup of vietnamese coffee....we like ours hot. The food is pretty decent Vietnamese, but the service is absurd and it's almost a guarantee that if you call in an order, it will be wrong. We order from here regularly because it's close to home, but I always check my order because it is incorrect at least 8 out of 10 times. Tonight when I was waiting to pick up my order, someone else was also waiting. Their name was called and they left with their food. They returned to the restaurant 5-10 minutes later and complained that their order was incorrect. My name was then called. I checked my order per usual and of course my order was incorrect. It was something that I'd still eat, so I didn't feel like correcting them, so I decided to just call it a day and go. The lady at the counter stopped me, looked in my bag and realized that the item in my order was what the other person was supposed to get. She takes it from my bag and puts it in theirs. She then takes the food that the other customer LEFT WITH and had gone through and PUTS IT IN MY BAG!!! It was disgusting and absurd that she would ever think this was ok. Of course I asked them to remake that dish, but it was nuts and I had already been waiting 40 min since I first ordered. Any other restaurant would have comped the dish or done SOMETHING to remedy the obviously terrible customer experience. read more

We live in the neighborhood so we used to eat here often when we needed a BahnMi/Pho fix. Tonight we picked up an order for 5 and it was not only dull and tasteless but they got the order wrong and refused to fix it. We clearly ordered a Veggie pho & when I reviewed the receipt asking why they upcharged us for the pho she said, "It's right." I said that we had ordered a Veggie and she said , "there's plenty of veggies and I added shrimp to it so it's what you wanted." We were super confused but didn't unwrap the entire order at the time of pick up until we got home and there was absolutely no broccoli, bok choy, carrot and cabbage as the menu stated said but plain noodles and shrimp. Well our kid is allergic to shrimp so we had to toss all of it. What got us the most this time was the gaslighting since the lady at the counter clearly knew we asked for veggie and she definitely knew she was not giving us that and just lied about it. They were probable out of ingredients but instead of being honest they forced the sale. We're done going here. The only thing they do better than others is the quality of the bread for the bahnmis but that's a small thing compared to other more flavorful and certainly more honest places to eat.
