This place has gone downhill. Nice slippery pool deck that was just installed to be torn out again. Might of helped to have the first pool deck company put down a test patch area before committing to a massive new area. So. No indoor pool and it's damn summer.. youCan't play basketball with the pickle ball and kids camp so it's a major failure. Go up to the weights and here's all these weight machines gone and replaced with wide open areas to do what nobody knows, maybe cross fit? Who knows. The good treadmills are all being used in their wanna be copycat "Orange theory fitness class" . I used to love this gym. Not so much anymore. read more

Great gym in the area. Love the pickleball courts and classes available to get everyone in shape. I enjoy the group fitness classes in the middle of the gym. Mostly because the coaches play great music and set a great ambiance for everyone working out. The equipment at this location are good compared to that of Esporta and mountainside. Cleanliness is on point and staff look happy and determined to help people signup/achieve their fitness goals. I know lifetime is a bit pricey but you pay for what you get such as towels, lotion, hairspray, deodorant, disposable razor, and every other amenity such as steam room and sauna. This is the best Gym in Arizona. It's a really large facility with everything possible you can imagine as far as amenities and perks for membership. Only the best equipment and upkeep I have found here. Now you do definitely pay for it. The membership is expensive but if you are immersed in athletics or are into bodybuilding/serious fitness then this is your gym. There is a wide variety of classes, cafes, pools a hot tub and spa, daycare, summer camp you name it. And the staff has always been incredible they only hire the best possible employees to work here. My family used this gym for years and we are very grateful for the service we received and overall amazing experience at this gym. Also if you have kids that need something to do in the summer? I had placed one star, however after re thinking is not the clubs fault, I understand there's a higher organization and the flow of people well good for you the for coming. I really like this place, I moved from EOS because it seems better and I was willing to pay more than 3 times the rate to get a good workout. I understand no 24 hours anymore, but in the mornings 4 am is ridiculous to see a-lot of people, specially people that just sits there almost asleep, if you can't wake up than don't come but still crowed the place, but at least they are trying management should close earlier and open earlier would make more sense to accommodate the extra people read more

I am a bit shocked by some of the negative reviews. At this particular Life Time Fitness, I have never had any major issues. My 4 year old loves the Kids academy. They have an indoor/outdoor playground, a place for the kids to watch movies, do arts and crafts, and in the back there is a mini gym! The pools make the membership completely worth the price in my opinion. Both pools have slides that lead into the pool, but at this particular LT I've never seen the indoor slide running. It's such a great place to hang out at and relax. You can order food and make a day out of being here. The gym is great, especially in regards to social distancing. Currently, every other cardio machine is unusable in order to space everyone out. I can't imagine other gyms doing that and still have the ability for every member to use the machine they want. There is never a shortage of cardio machines! The weight lifting side is fine but I really haven't seen the staff clean much of anything here. It seems like right now it's really up to the members to ensure we sanitize our own stuff. The current hand sanitizer they're using is pungent and quite frankly gross, but overall my family loves this gym. I believe the price of the gym is reasonable for all the amenities provided. read more

I quit my membership here today. I was warming up on a vacant assault bike when a Lifetime employee tapped me on the shoulder and said, "We're doing a workout here and we need that bike." This trainer obviously cared about her client's workout, but I was trying to do a workout too!! Also, this was not the first time I got kicked off of equipment by a trainer at Lifetime. I don't pay $120 per month to be treated this way. It's a shame this is the best gym in the area in terms of equipment and amenities. From the minute you open the front door, this place is amazing. The aquatics area is fantastic, with steam rooms, saunas, a lap pool, and leisure pools inside and out. Then there is the workout area with many different managed programs pickle ball, etc and machines to meet every need or requirement for therapy. It's a great workout with everything you need. You should also know I was a founding member years ago. The guy at the front desk couldn't have been less empathetic. He reluctantly let me work out that one day but then proceeds to tell me it is $100 for a week. Really? So I went to EoS. Liv at the front desk couldn't have been nicer!!! Their membership for a week was $35 and they were ALL so nice there. I am not sure what happened to this place but you may get more members if your front desk guy was kind and helpful. Beautiful facility, that will continuously increase your membership fees. I have been a member ten years before pandemic and have seen what corporate greed has done. It's difficult to get into any good free classes. The soapbox shampoo and conditioner suck. They recently started leaving razors and shaving cream, to bad everyone cannot clean up after themselves. Only half of the showers have pressure to wash my mid length hair. Sad that for the price of membership majority of regular employees start at minimum wage. The majority of employees are awesome. They use to replace cardio machines and equipment annually, this has not been happening. Machines and equipment is in need of overhaul for price point. The Spa has gone through an overhaul and they like the rest of the gym are short staffed. They also have deceptive practices where I can't drop an additional person on my account. No, I have to cancel and enroll like a new enrollment to ensure they get top dollar. Fifteen years I watched this place sadly go down hill. read more

I've been going here for a month now and I really like it. It is currently $99 a month for full access to the gym/club. This includes the stream room, sauna, indoor pools, outdoor pools, hot tubs, full workout gear (machines/free weights) and a handful of classes. my husband and I have been Life Time members for about six years. we absolutely love the kids academy. Everyone at the kids academy is friendly and personable. They always go the extra mile. It's comforting knowing that my daughter is in great hands! Not only is the kids Academy Amazing the staff and personal trainers are exceptional. we've had made many wonderful friends at the gym. Lifetime Fitness has become a second home for us. in addition, Ive never had an issue being kicked off any of the equipment. just be mindful of the classes going on and you'll be good to go read more

Was a member at lifetime for over 4 years during the pandemic they couldn't bill my card due to their inability to tell me I checked into multiple clubs for over 3 months NO ONE STOPPING ME. Then was told I had to get a new membership for expensive the account manager Noah wouldn't waive my fee or give me my old rate and they just wanted to take more money from me. Alright, so, I have to admit I was only going on a friends guest pass for the sauna and steam room. I was hopeful that these two would assist in detoxing me enough that I would quit smoking. I had been enough times that I decided to purchase a 5 day package of passes for myself. This way I didn't have to wait for when my friend was available. I love the steam room and sauna. Though, the number of guest who work out in the sauna is a bit surprising and at times a little distracting to the relaxation I'm seeking. That's my own thing though. Upon expiration of my passes they contacted me to learn about why I had only purchased the few visits that I had. The gentleman on the phone informed me that they would be running a black Friday special in which they would be waving the sign up fees. When black Friday came, I couldn't help but to purchase a membership for my son and I. Admittedly, I could have found another gym that would likely have cost a little less monthly. However, the services they provide at Lifetime and the facilities themselves are well worth it. I have had some interaction with a few of the staff members and they are all very accommodating and kind. I have since signed up for sessions with a trainer and again, though a bit pricey, I feel the benefits already. The Kid loves hanging out/playing in the basketball courts while I'm doing my work out. I'm stoked that I came across Lifetime because it's really gotten me motivated to take accountability for my fitness goals. read more

The staff opened the locked bathroom stall while my child was using the restroom, when I tried to talk to the management they don't care this is a violation of personal and private rights and they don't s the Ms concerned at all. Beware do not let your children be in the bathroom area or anywhere else alone. I thought because the bathroom is separate she would be safe. That's not the case. My daughter doesn't want to go back there again so now we have to drive to another location further due to the incompetence and lack of training or taking responsibility. I'm giving Gilbert LT a three. Good facility, but I only swim, and it's hard to get a lane. Tempe location isn't like that ( I moved to Gilbert). One thing crummy is that I fell and broke my patella in the foyer in November, and no one came to write a report, and I was lying on the floor for 30 minutes. Then, not one Lifetime person called to see how I was. I had to contact them and demanded 6 months free of dues. I am rating LTF Gilbert five stars not completely on the club where it is right now, but on the direction it is going. I recently received a survey from LTF as a newer member and gave it some low marks in some areas of the club which I thought needed improvement while complementing other areas of LTF Gilbert that were running smoothly. To my surprise, the operations manager Liz Purnell emailed me asking if I could talk with her on the phone or at the club about my comments. Liz and I met at the LTF Cafe last week and had a great discussion. I really like her professionalism, commitment to making this older club better and positive results oriented attitude and work ethic. Love all the options for classes but hard to get a workout in on your own. Probably have 5 separate rooms for classes and yet a good portion of the weights and cardio get taken up by classes. I joined Lifetime Fitness 2 months ago and I don't regret my decision. I believe the gym has gone above and beyond to meet state regulations, keep their members/staff safe, and still grant their members the ability to exercise. I have been attending the outdoor classes by the lap pool and my favorite classes to attend are Brooke and Rob's HIIT class as well as Angie's Glute Maxout every Thursday morning. Absolutely LOVE this place! We chose it based off of the amazing childcare program, and it has not disappointed. The staff is amazing, there are great options for workout equipment, and our kiddo always has something to do. Our last gym just played tv for the kids, and it was important to us that our toddler was able to play and learn while we worked out! We sign him up for classes everyday (toddler circle time, arts and crafts, gym games, etc), and he loves it. Better than a preschool! Such a win win for him and for us. read more

I was really looking forward to visiting this gym, but after the rude customer service I experienced today I will never return. I won a one month family pass to the gym from a school raffle. I was super stoked and saved it for the summertime when I knew I'd fully be able to utilize the pass with my kids. I walked in today with the pass. Initially I was greeted by the girl at the font desk. I told her why I was there. She took the pass from me, eyed it for a while then says "I don't think you'll be able to redeem this pass." Super confused I asked why? There was no expiration date on the pass. She said that she would have to call her manager, Jason, down to help me. Ok, so I wait. He shows up, and right away was rude to me. He looks at the pass and says "when did you get this?" So I explained I won it from a school raffle and was looking forward to using it with my kids. He then says, "Are you looking to join the gym, or just looking to cash in on a freebie?" I was so confused at first. I explained to him that I didn't know yet if I would be joining because it was my first time stepping foot in the gym and I didn't know anything about it yet. He then proceeds to waste my time telling me that he cannot honor my pass, even though there was no expiration date on it. That is was company policy not to accept the pass anymore and that it was only good for one person anyway. I told him the pass clearly states "family" on it. Fine print even said couple or family. I told him if he was unable to help me that I would just take my pass and leave. He then refused to give it back to me. "Why do you want it? It's not valid any longer." That's ok, I'll take it back anyway. "Well you don't need it since it's company policy not to accept these and you won't be able to use it anywhere else." I grabbed it out of his hand and left the building promptly. All can say is "wow!" I never expected to be treated so rudely by a manger, and someone who calls himself a professional. You should be ashamed Lifetime Fitness for employing someone who treats potential new customers so rudely. read more

When LifeTime Tempe closes down for maintenance/renovations ... I head to LifeTime Gilbert, which is the next closet location for me. LifeTime Gilbert is essentially a mirror image of the Tempe location, but it does seem to be a bit different to me for some reason ... I feel like the lighting and over all feel of the Gilbert club is a bit dim/dreary. One of the biggest differences I noticed the other night is that the Tempe location has outdoor tennis courts and squash indoor. I don't think the Gilbert club has any tennis courts outdoors, and they have racquet ball courts instead of squash indoor. Most of the other amenities at the Gilbert location are similar to that of Tempe for the most part to my knowledge... For some reason when I've been to the Gilbert Club I just haven't felt the same upbeat vibe energy that I feel when I'm @ the Tempe or N. Phx/Scottsdale location ... It's hard for me to put my finger on exactly why it seems different, but it does. I did notice there was an horrid smell when entering the Men's locker room in Gilbert the other night though ... Kinda gross and never smelled anything like that ever in Tempe or Scottsdale. Maybe the Gilbert club feels like it's not as well kept.... As I said, the Gilbert club definitely becomes my default since it's closer than the other two clubs. If I lived further out East in Chandler or Gilbert I would absolutely rather come here than the other local athletic clubs, and I believe that LifeTime Gilbert may be the only full service gym/athletic club out east that is open 24/7, so it earns a solid 4 star; very good rating from me! ;) read more
