We have had to report this to our credit card company three times, and just now for the second time had to cancel our credit cards and start over. I absolutely love the yoga classes here! If your a yogi then you know that paying $100 a month to go to a local studio is pretty normal for the area, but with lifetime you not only get awesome yoga classes, you also get access to the rest of the gym and the beautiful locker rooms! After paying around $100 a month for years just to get access to a yoga studio, Lifetime feels like a steal! read more

This is the grosses Life Time . Ive been here only 4 times since Allen is closer to me. The guy at the cafe and the life guards are super nice . The MOD always act like it's such an inconvenience to help you out . It's gross and disgusting , toilet paper all over the locker room, towels ever where , the indoor pool area makes you want to vomit. In the pool some guy was popping his wife's pimple . It's hot inside humid like . I don't know why it's so bad when Allen and Garland even the bronze one in North Dallas are always clean . How hard is it to maintain and I mean for upscale Plano gym this is sad. The manager should worry about cleaning up the spills instead of yelling at kids not to run because they may slip on the spill. Also why is this the only lifetime that requires you to leave and ID for the family locker key , please don't huff and puff when your guest say they don't have their is in their hands . Was a member since 2003 when this facility opened. Last year I decided to try and save a little cash and go to a different gym....and have found my way back to Lifetime. The facility is super clean and everyone is always friendly. I love that the classes are now free and I don't have to pay extra! read more

We have been looking for a great place to work out in, we arrived a bit too late at this gym last night but that wasn't a problem at all for this very awesome saleswoman who energetically (after her shift was supposed to have ended an hour prior) gave us an amazing tour of the facility and gave us probably the best experience we have ever had in terms of customer service and being extremely knowledgeable of the facility. Miss Mariana Ochoa is definitely the saleswoman to go talk to if you're interested in signing up to this incredible place, she was very polite, professional, funny, and overall awesome! Definitely recommending this clean and grand place to all of our friends because of the great efforts this amazing woman showed us! 5 Stars! read more

Very shady and dishonest billing. Pay close attention when you cancel your account. They will offer to "park" it for you. Then after a month or two, they will go right back to billing you the full amount without notifying you or getting approval in any way. Then, of course, you're on the hook for another two months because they require 30 days notice. I will never go back to this gym and would encourage others to never join. We were members for 9+ years and they insisted on screwing us out of two additional months when we cancelled. Quite petty and short term thinking. read more

Clean with a good amount of cardio equipment. The free weights area could be bigger. Some of the machinery is a little older and just as others have stated, for a c-note a month you expect new. Love the steam rooms, indoor outdoor pools and sauna. It's Plano so yeah, soccer moms are in attendance. bathrooms and showers, spotless. read more

Gym nirvana, from the equipment selection, organic cafe, massive kids play area with I-pads, 2 indoor and 2 outdoor pools with real waterslides, dry sauna, steam rooms, rock climbing wall, water bottle filling stations, locker room where there are a plethora of lockers, plenty of showers and hair dryers, basketball courts, racket all, hot yoga wing, and the staff is very pleasant! It's not bad at $89 for one or $148 for two and only $10 per child up to age 10 for up to two hours a day. They even have a poolside cafe with beer and wine if you want to defeat the purpose of your workout. There are usually 6 lifeguards on duty and I kid you not that I spend pretty much all weekend at the gym!! Very rare any machines are out of order as well! Forget all other options and go here!! read more

Lifetime Plano is the most unorganized, unprofessional, non-caring, , non-communicative business I have dealt with in a long time. Horrible customer service. Horrible training. They never know what is going on. It starts at the top with Corey the manager and trickles down. Corey will tell you what you want to hear but none of it appears to be true. Belle Cavnar at Lifetime Fitness in Plano is simply amazing! Whether you are preparing for a fitness competition or just trying to get yourself in better shape I would definitely recommend her as a trainer! She's very energetic, super nice, and very knowledgable about the body and nutrition. Most people are intimidated to workout with a trainer but that's not the case with Belle, she's very approachable and makes you feel very comfortable. She's extremely motivating and pushes you to kill each workout! In the past, I have had trainers that were constantly on their phone or engaging in conversation with other gym members while training me, that has never been the issue with Belle. When you're in her court her focus is 100% on you! Check her out!!! read more

Management here is terrible. Tried to cancel membership in July, and, months later, we are still getting charged for monthly dues. We have visited TWICE personally with the director of the facility and continue to leave voicemails, and the director appears to not care or is acting incompetently. Was working out with a trainer when I suffered an injury requiring surgery and a lengthy recovery (several months). When contacted LT asking to terminate my membership, they honored my request - but will do so only after collecting ANOTHER month of membership fees (mind you, I haven't been able to use my membership since the mid-February injury). Oh, and the personal training sessions I have already paid for? Will not refund. I have asked management to reconsider, and not even courtesy of a response. Life Time promises to be something different, but not my experience. I told them my review to this effect was going on social media, but apparently that doesn't matter either, so here we are. read more

This gym is fantastic, great equipment and good staff!

I've been a member here since 2004. This place does have an abundance of machines. The swimming pools are fun in the summer. They do try and maintain the location as much as possible, which is hard due to the volume of people that come in and out during rush times. The weight area does get busy around 5PM till about 7:30. Due to people just sitting there and socializing, lot of space in the weight areas gets used up. Ones work outs needs to be timed correctly to get the full use. The classes there are great - for spinning - you've got to try Stan. Nikki talks a lot but the music is good. Jeff is good too, but music is not the best. Able to stay in shape with all these Dallas restaurants thanks to LTF read more

Very dissatisfied. I have been a member at LifeTime Plano since 2004. Over the past few years we have seen our rates increase at a rapid pace. We have have a family membership - our kids are 17 and 19. Their newly announced rate increase starting Nov. 1st is now $186 per month for family (that's $201after taxes). I'm pretty sure they just looked at what the new Cowboy Fitness Center at the Star is charging and increased their rates to that price. On top of this new rate increase, LifeTime has now implemented a new "Reserve a Spin Bike" system. They put absolutely no thought into this new system as they are attempting to copy what the smaller boutique cycle bars are doing by implementing this bike reservation system. However, I have been going to spin classes for over 7 years at Lifetime and when you attend a class on a regular basis then you tend to sit on certain bike most of the time. The first come, first serve system has worked great for years. But now you can reserve a bike on-line but you don't have to. No official notification was sent out to members regarding this new reservation system other than a sign at the front desk. Some members will come to class and get set up on bike and then another member comes in and is faced with having to tell them they have that bike reserved or the instructor has to get involved. This is just asking for conflict. On top of that, many of the bikes go for weeks broken and in need of repair - so who's tracking all of that in the new reservation system? With the constant increase of monthly rates plus all the hassle of attending my regular spin class we will be leaving LifeTime and purchasing a Peloton spin bike. And don't waste your time trying to talk to the General Manager (David Silva), he only responds with canned phrases and is no help at all. read more

Be sure to visit the Life Spa. You don't even have to be a member to utilize it. Drop the kiddos off at the playroom and prepare to relax and be pampered! I get a cut and color every month and have never had a bad result-but Brent is by far my favorite stylist. They also offer massages and manicures/pedicures. read more

Lots of machines (free weights, machines, treadmills, stairclimbers, elliptical, etc), classes, and very clean. It doesn't smell like a sweaty gym. The showers, pool, and spa are all great. It's more expensive than lots of places. But lifetime caters to people willing to spend more for a better gym experience. The outdoor pool is also really nice during the summer. I Have worked at LTF before and prefer their gyms to others. The price for this location being Platinum is crazy. Close to $100 a month for a gym that you have to fight to get on the equipment you want. Two issues I have besides the pricing: 1. They just installed keyless locks and they suck. 2. I like to play basketball as my warm-up. I hate how they keep the barrier up between courts and balls go everywhere. read more

Just joined! My hubby wanted to join a gym. I was already a member of 24 hr fitness, but he is a triathlete and my 12 year old is an elite swimmer and we were looking for a family type membership. 24 hrs pool area was disgusting at both locations and after getting sick with skin issues multiple times that I can LINK to 24 hour, I would not even consider putting my daughter in the child care there. The Frisco Athletic Center was a possibility, but the pool hours were very limited. The Lifetime Fitness pool area is open 24 hours and my son and hubby can both use it. The facility is soooooo much cleaner than 24 hour fitness. My entire experience so far has been fabulous. The childcare for infants is very nice as well. Very clean. SUPER IMPRESSED. read more

Been coming here for 10 years and I love this place. They keep it very clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

There are no guess passes available, as I was told by customer service. They charge $125 for a week. Business travelers - look elsewhere!

I have been going to this gym for about a year now, it has loads of equipment no matter what you are looking for. They have several styles of treadmills, bikes and stair masters. Loads of free weight stations and free weights in just about any range you could need. In general I am very happy with the gym. My only complaint is it takes them forever to repair broken equipment. Finding a working exercise bike can be really annoying, and they have left some of the weight machines broken for weeks at a time or flat left them with a partial repair. They could also do with someone to pick up weights during prime time as some of the teens who work out here seem to feel it is ok to leave their weights all over the place. If they start fixing the equipment I will add another star, and if they do something about the teens I will give it 5 stars! (I hate working out at the same time as them) read more

The Lifetime Fitness in Plano is a joke from the start. They overcharge, the place is dirty (especially the women's bathrooms on both floors), and the equipment is always broken. Some of the equipment requires pins to add additional five pound weights and these particular pieces of equipment have been missing pins for over three years. When you bring this up to management or trainers, they say they will take care of it, but it never gets fixed. You also need to be aware that if you give a 30 day notice it needs to be done before the first of the month or you will be charged an additional month. They are going to get two months dues from you when you give your 30 days notice no matter what. There are other places, and my advice is to check them out before paying too much at Lifetime. I had a very bad experience with lifetime and i want to share it with all. I had canceled the membership in feb of 2013 giving almost a month notice. But the facility was charging my husbands creditcard till august when we came to know. but by that time we had lost our receipt and the facility said they cannot do anything without receipt and said they did not have any record. How could they lose their documentation and not be responsible for their fault. It is the leason to everyone whenever you cancel membership keep the receipt and also check the creditcard to see that are they charging. read more

I walked into this building with the intention of signing up for a membership, but after encountering one of the managers(Ellyn Hirsch), I have decided to never sign up for a membership at Lifetime. The manager Ellyn Hirsch was incredibly condescending, treating me as if I was too poor to pay for the membership. To put the icing on the cake, she looked me up and down and asked "do you even work?" Sure the building, equipment, and amenities are great, but the service was truly disgraceful. read more

The staff at this location are really nice and do a great job at making the gym nice. The upstairs has more equipment than needed and is perfect for any type of person needing to work out. The basketball courts are good for a pick up game because there is always a good amount of people playing except it can get a little crowded on Wednesdays when one court is used for volleyball. Well.......,we have been members of this particular club since 2007...and haven't really experienced the worst until lately. It appears that the club's management doesn't understand either Texas law....or their own contracts. In a nutshell...our 16 year old son defied us and signed a training contract to the sum of $1800. Now, the fact that he defied us is one thing....the club telling us that it was a binding contract is another. This is as laughable....as it is pathetic in the way they said "tough"...when I quoted Texas law to them regarding minors...and how their signatures are not binding. My wife is an attorney....has been for 25 years...so this is pretty black and white in its interpretation legally. Anyway....the guy who runs the training desk refused to listen, and the GM refused to return our call. I drafted a letter to the corporate CFO....who is an attorney....but gave Bab a chance first with corporate member services in MN an opportunity to make it right. At first she said that if our teenager was on our club tab...then he could sign off on anything at the club...even training. I said....no...that is for food and sandwiches at the most...and the training requires a separate contract. Now....Bab knows that something is inherently wrong with a 16 year old entering into an $1800 contract....and she also...per our discussion...understands Texas law regarding the matter. I lost my patience....and gave corporate a 24 hour deadline to credit the funds back to our account. I got a call from Bab a day later....who informed me that she had spoken with their legal department...and all funds were returned immediately. We have still never received a call or apology from anyone at the club regarding the fact that this never should have happened....and we don't expect to get one. This is a warning to any family who has a teenager on their ClubTab...as the club will attempt to allow this as a gateway to securing training contracts....even though they know...that it is illegal ...I only assume that corporate alerted them to the potential ramifications ...but then again...they may have just passed on saying anything....or only respond if the parents protest to corporate. It's really a poor way of conducting business. It's a joke to think that any 16 year old can sign a binding contract for a couple thousand dollars. Their own club rules state that anyone under 18 cannot enter the club without a sponsoring adult 18 or over. Like I said....the whole situation was both laughable and pathetic. read more

I was in Dallas for business last month and visited this location as a platinum member from Austin. I am a huge LTF fan, however, after coming to this location, I realized how spoiled I am in Austin. I went on a Thursday night after the primetime rush. I was disappointed to only see one spin bike available on the main workout floor. All others were crammed in the one of the studios, so they really weren't accessible. I jumped in the indoor pools to swim laps and the water was really cloudy. I went to steam after my swim and the steam room smelled like sweat and the floor was quite dirty. I went to spin my swimsuit in the "spinner thing" and that thing was barely working. The ladies' shower area was a mess. Given that members should really clean up after themselves, there were dirty towels hanging from at least 5 stalls and multiple towels on the floor. I also didn't like the fact that every other locker is reserved for specific member. It really should be on a first-come, first-served basis. The one thing that I did like was that the locker room had a seating area with couches and a TV. I'm due to visit the area again in a couple of weeks. I'm definitely going to try another location. The GM of this location should visit the South Austin location for improvement tips. read more

Should you ever try and cancel this membership regardless of the circumstances. The business practices at this site are absolutely medevil. They will take your money via automated deposit per month but refuse to end the membership using the same means. They want you to either go to the facility in person or send them a "certified" letter to cancel the membership. "Certified" because they can't guarantee that someone will action the letter. Furthermore, they charge you for an additional month even after cancelling the membership. Poor busniess practices. Very rude "customer (no) service". Caveat emptor!!! Not worth to pay for a private swimming lesson. They did not even give us any notice of changing our private coach. Aquatics manager, Kelsey Moore, does not even want to listen my question but ask me to talk to her assistant, Justin. Justin is even worse. Justin sat there without offering any chair to me. He even threatened me to pay double for next month if I decided to move with the SAME COACH to LIFETIME ALLEN. When we applied for the membership, they told us we can use our membership in both Plano and Allen. Justin told me their Aquatics office is different now???? I did not get any notice from them at all. Lifetime Plano should send the 30 days' notice to me if they need to change our private swimming coach so we can send them the notice too. The experience with Justin is the worst. He is so rude. He completely ruined this lifetime. He does not care about customer at all. read more

I think it's a pretty good gym. It's got everything you really need for a gym. The cafe and the spa are good and make this not your average gym. A few downsides though: no full sized lockers. For over $100 a month, you think that would be a given. The gym can be extremely crowded, like excessively crowded. No parking spots and the main hallway is flooded with people, most notably kids. On the weekends, they also try to hawk a bunch of stuff in that area as well. Maybe because of the large population of the gym, they don't have a lot of the little fitness tools that you see at other gyms (might get stolen) but ab wheels, stretch bands, plank handles, jump ropes, etc. are not available. This is also the only gym I've ever seen with a shortage of gym mats. Also, a big peeve of mine is how the weighted bars alternate between curl and straight bars every 5 pounds. If I want to go up on my weight for bicep curls, I have to switch to a straight bar. Only if I get up past the weight of the straight bar can I get another curl bar. Weird. There aren't any build your own bars either. It is not the gym's fault necessary but I have never seen a more inconsiderate group of gym patrons. Leave towels everywhere, monopolize equipment and do not unrack their weights. The free weight sections is usually a chaotic mess and good luck finding the weight you are looking for in the right place. I've worked out consistently at half a dozen gyms in the metroplex and have never seen the entitlement that some of these people have....maybe they are just clueless. In sum, this is about the best Plano has to offer. Its a good gym, but if you have worked out for awhile at other gyms, you can see where it has room for improvement. read more

We joined a couple of years ago and just didn't feel we were getting our money's worth. The equipment was often outdated or didn't work right. There were often things on the schedule, only to show up and it not be happening- such as volleyball (a major reason we joined). Getting the Life Time Bucks and referral rewards promised to us was always a huge hassle and the special programs for kids (karate, swimming etc.) cost more than if we were to sign them up elsewhere. There's no discount for being a member here. Since my kids did seem to enjoy their time there, I thought I'd check out the place again, only to find out they had increased their pricing dramatically. Not to mention the child care went from $6/mo per kid to $20. We have 3 kids, so that's clearly not going to happen. Obviously not a place that caters to larger families. read more
