LIFETIME Fitness has one of the worse policies for canceling and will not work with you! I had a Lifetime membership (gold member) in Minnesota but had to relocate to Texas. They were not able to move my membership from gym to the other! My membership ended up accumulating in Minnesota while I had another Lifetime membership in Texas which is just plain stupid! Then if you want to cancel your membership you have to send in a letter???? And they still charge you one month afterwards!!!! Before Lifetime I had EQUINOX and they were THE BEST!!!!! They've worked with me if I had to travel for months and would suspend my membership so I wouldn't have to pay til I was using my membership again. EQUINOX is the way to go if you're looking for a high end gym with group fitness classes and all the works. read more

As good as it gets for a gym. I always go late at night...10pm or later and there are always one or two lanes open in the pool which is perfect for me. I've also successfullly gone during "rush hour" and managed to find enough machines to use...didn't check the pool that day. Basketball courts are usually packed. When I came here with my volleyball team we had a hard time getting a court but we should have reserved in advance or something. Love Lifetime...this is as good as it gets for a gym. Everything is clean and the place is well ventilated and airconditioned. Other gyms just don't compare to Lifetime and I've had memberships at 4 different ones in the past few years and Lifetime stands out above and beyond. read more

Reminds of home only BETTER!!! Clean areas, all around. Guests mind their own business and make for a pleasant visit. State of the art workout machines. Pool is great to doing laps, both indoor and outdoor. Kids seem to REALLY enjoy the outdoor "water park". Front desk staff very pleasant and informative. Outdoor snack shack has very friendly service and food is decently priced and good. Didn't visit the spa or the tennis courts (neither indoor or outdoor), this time around. Not valued as a member I was a member for over 10 years. When I went to downgrade from a family to ind plan, they didn't want to honor my current rate (after I was told it would be honored). LTF is great at taking your money. When I mentioned to corp about break-ins at the club, their response was - there is nothing I can do....REALLY!!!!! I paid close to $200 for my family for years and this is how they treat you..... No THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Machines were constantly breaking, too many people taking selfies and hogging equipment, pools were closed consistently, etc... You're nothing but $$ and a number here!!!! read more

I am not sure how to rate it. I am a member since 2011, and right now a diamond member , being an active tennis player I like a convenience of an indoor court, If the courts were more available. Many times there were no courts at all. However, I have found out that many times non-members are on the court (it has been explained to me that many lifetime tennis teams may have non members playing on , and they are using tennis facility whenever they want, which, I guess, is approved by management). I complained about it locally, but was told that LTF is allowing it. I don't care if the owners want to give them to use the facility for free, I just want the courts available for me since I am a paying member. It seems that some double standard is at play and rules do not apply the same way for all. Several other Diamond members have noticed the same trend. read more

This gym is really nice and always filled with people. I have been a member at this gym for 3 years and I recently upgraded from platinum to diamond. Then when I came in to get my locker and parking pass, I got scolded by one of the employees. They informed me that I wasn't able to get one because it is only for the primary and partner. Which is fine, but I was told otherwise when I upgraded the entire family. Don't get me wrong, I love this gym and actually used to work there myself but recently I felt that the some of the employee's customer service can use some help. read more

This is the hands down worst gym I've ever had the misfortune to join. The customer service is so horrible it's laughable, and the shady billing practices are beyond even the smarmiest gym. Decent facilities though. I joined LT at the end of June, and signed up personal training. About halfway through July, I told my trainer I was moving and needed to recoup some of those fees before signing back up. He said no problem. I have confirmation in writing this was done. August 1st rolls around, and I'm charged $780. When I called, I was connected to account services after some wait and explained the situation. But would you believe it - there was no one there who could assist in getting my money back! All the managers were in a meeting! Every last one! I call back the next day and was told they'd refund my money (how gracious) but they wouldn't be able to cover any overdraft fees I incurred from their error. Also, they wouldn't be able to refund my money for some 3 business days. I called my bank and disputed the charge and got the refund the next day. I didn't cancel my membership then because although unhelpful (seemingly by no fault of their own) customer service was at least empathetic to my issue. Cut to September 1st. Again - I have reiterated to LT to cancel my PT. I don't want it. I can't afford it at this point (because I'm recouping moving costs PLUS covering bills I had to punt because of the initial unauthorized charge) AND THEY CHARGE ME AGAIN! $780! I call, get told "we don't show this charge" Well, my bank sure shows it. "we'll put you through to PT; they're the ones who control this and they'll be better able to assist you." All the head of PT told me was "we didn't charge you. It's not on your account. I know what your bank says, but it's not from us. I suggest you call them." So I call my bank, tell them it's a fraudulent charge and THE BANK is more willing to help me than the gym. I call the PT head back to let her know to see what kind of resolution we can uncover, but I get passed around and passed around and passed around like a hot potato. I hang up. I call back to the gym to tell them to cancel my membership - I want nothing else to do with them. "You have to do that in person" So, I drive up to the gym, talk to customer service, say I want to cancel (because I know what happens if I tell them I want my money back; I've been down that road before) and they say "Well...it's a 30 day notice, so you'll have to pay this month" Pardon? You've now charged me approximately $1600 in two months in charges YOU ACKNOWLEDGE I didn't want anymore, and you have the unmitigated gall to ask me to pay for 1 month? I basically tell them No. I'm not going to do that. "Well, we'll have to speak to the GM and he's in a meeting." I tell them, that's fine - I can wait. So I wait in their lobby for approximately 90 to 120 minutes waiting for the GM to get out of his meeting. Everyone now and then, a customer service lady would walk by and say "oh, let me check and see how his meeting is coming." And then Mr Hay walks by, with a plate full of grilling utensils. His meeting was more a MEATing. About 15 minutes after he breezed by, the customer service lady comes up and says "he's still in his meeting, but he's authorized me to go ahead and waive the 30 day fee and cancel your membership immediately" I mention I saw him glide by with his grilling utensils and how happy I was he could find a minute to answer her questions/get the waiver and she launches in about how it's a planned employee appreciation event and it's monthly and blah. Just let me cancel my membership without your 30day fee. FINALLY. After about half an afternoon spent in this gym, I had my membership canceled. I still don't have my money back; my bank is working on recovering it. I've had to change my cards and put LT on stop payment because there's obviously something not right about the way they bill/conduct business. Stay away. What can I say? The place has a lot to offer but its extremely expensive, even for what they offer. The place is a bit old now and they have no limit on the amount of members who can join, so the place is always packed! You will have towel, shampoo and indoor/outdoor pool, but do you really need it? does it worth almost $100 a month? maybe if you have kids... Top notch for the price! I was a member here a couple of years ago and loved it then (single without kids) and I only left because I moved downtown. I've been to many gyms downtown and around and none compare to this one. I came back to Plano and signed up immediately.My biggest upside is the kids center. My baby is 15 months and they really helped me get her used to being there. They are so sweet and tend to hold her if she's upset. I try to avoid "traffic times" because it can get full but even then it doesn't compare to how full other gyms get. Indoor/outdoor pools, kiddie pools, cafe, spa, yoga, spin, Zumba are all great classes. Always get a good workout. Staff is always polite and say hello. My husband also loves it here. Also the baby swim class is great and my baby really enjoys it. I would definitely give this gym a chance! read more

I just don't know another gym that offers childcare, abundant fitness classes, aquatics, a huge upstairs dedicated to every single work out equipment and machine you could imagine, a cafe, outdoor pool, a clean environment that doesn't smell like BO when you walk in and is open 24/7. Please read this before you sign up and get SCAMMED. Don't even bother yall. $100 a month? I signed up with Texas Family Fitness for $10 a month. For 10 months, I will be paying what Lifetime members pay in 1 month!!! And guess what? The SAME EXACT EQUIPMENT is used at TFF. The LifeFitness brand equipment is only $10 a month to use at Texas Family Fitness, but is $100 a month at Lifetime. Lets pretend they offer weekly memherships. You would be paying $20 for a week. I still pay HALF of that for an entire month. Let that sink in.. Then I hear, "But the Yoga classes are so great! it's sooo worth $100!!" LOOOOL I'm cracking up because they're not worth it at all. The classes used to be great around 2014. Now, the classes are extremely watered down versions of what they used to be. You're basically doing stretches that 5 year olds do in P.E.. During all this, the instructor will say, "if you want a better yoga class, you can sign up for $25 a session" what. WHAT. AS IF $100 A MONTH WASN'T EXPENSIVE ENOUGH. At my new gym, I get workout equipment, AND several classes (yoga, zumba, insanity, p90x) for literally two dollars and fifty cents a week. F*** you Lifetime! read more

Let me state first that I have never in my life paid an initiation fee or signed a contract at any gym - which tells me, and should also tell you, that they are always negotiable. (Refuse it, get ready to walk, they call you back before you're even out of your chair - boom, you're a no-commitment member out of nothing more than the monthly fee.) While the facilities themselves at Plano's Lifetime Fitness merit a strong 3-star rating, among the many reasons I did not join this gym is that my particular rep refused to budge on waiving the initiation fee. He only *thought* he was going for broke when he offered to merely reduce it - nope, I won't pay it at all. I kept getting e-mails for months afterward to see if I'd reconsidered. Stay away! They will charge you for everything....they will also charge you extra for almost 60 days when you terminate your membership. I just cancelled mine and, although we are at the beginning of June, they made me pay until the end of JULY. That is almost 60 more days.... They are rude here, in Plano. The guy at the front desk was arrogant while chewing gum constantly. I could be his mother or grandmother age-wise....Only to make me wait for 45 min to cancel membership...while there were so many sales people in their offices doing nothing or chatting casually with other sales people. I guess when they see you want to cancel membership, they want to make sure you never come back... Like another person mentioned here, Plano must have something better than this gym - overcrowded and no customer decency, leave alone customer service. read more

I called with questions and explained that I might be in for free week pass. Never got around to it and they called and called and called. I explained to them that I have decided to go to another gym and said goodbye. Well they kept calling and calling and calling. At one point they called me 15 -20 times over and over and over. I was on a call with one of my customers and they were interrupting our conversation. When I asked them to stop and hung up they still kept calling over and over and over. I called corporate about this and nobody ever called me back. They are wayyyyy to expensive. I have some friends that are now ex members because of how expensive they are. I was a member at LifeTime Fitness in Plano about 5 year ago. I don't think I can say one good thing about this gym. The sales/membership staff and the front desk people were probably the most arrogant people I've ever met. The child care place is a room full of TVs and video games, certainly not a place where I want my toddler to hang out. I had an infant at the time and had pumped milk in case my baby got hungry during my work-out. When I picked her up, they were feeding my breastmilk to another child. I pointed it out to them and they tried to brush it off as if it were not important at all. Also, I had signed up for personal trainer sessions. The first trainer quit his job after 2 sessions so they assigned me to a different trainer. After 2 workouts with the new trainer, she left as well. Off to trainer no. 3. This one didn't show up to the sessions on time and kept trying to sell me all these extras. It got really annoying, especially when it took away from our workout time. This trainer quit as well after working there for only a couple of weeks. I tried to get a different trainer and left them multiple voice mails, but it took them weeks to call me back. At one point I was so fed up that I quit my membership. I told LifeTime Fitness in detail about all the problems I had there and why I was leaving. They couldn't have cared less. In summary, if you like a place full of arrogant staff members, with a high personal trainer turnover rate, and a horrible child care facility, this is the place to go. If you like a great gym with nice people, go to the Y instead. read more

Everything is good about the club except the aquatic..ever since the management has changed the aquatics has deteriorated.the pool water is not clean.i myself found plastic glasses in outdoor pool.even the indoor pool his the same.the previous managers Gabriel and Jennifer were fabulous.secondly they don't have clear policies..the family swim is practically at times when kids take a nap..the bathrooms stay dirty.they had even charged me extra for swimming classes and when I told them to refund it they said they can't put it back in the card..I need to use it at club bucks only...that's ridiculous... read more

Zero stars (won't let me select this!) Nice facilities but used car salesmen for sales personnel. Falsely represented when I was signing up that there was no contract and locked me into a 1 year contract that I cannot get out of. Be very careful when you sign up and read all the fine print. They also switch and bait - the print version of the contract had none of the information about a one year term but magically the online version does. I have been a member of Lifetime fitness since 2007. This is a good place to work out due to the amount of equipment and services offered. The gym floor is clean and organized but they have these pesky paid for classes called ALPHA that take over entire sections of the gym and worse, they will have classes of 10-15 people raid the non-alpha weights racks and dumbbells that everyone uses. Now the nasty bits, the gyms in Allen and Plano are old, run down and the bathroom facilities are nasty (Black Mold in all showers and hair everywhere) in both locations; and guess what, every-time they upgrade and fix the place, they send you a letter that dues are increasing, so you pay for repairs and maintenance as well. The biggest complaint I have is the costs of membership. Started this gym paying approx $120 a month for family membership. Over the years, I have received several letters kindly telling me that my dues are going up due to ongoing costs. Since 2007, that same membership now costs me $204. So if you want a gym with lots of services and plenty of machines, with mostly nice staff, then I recommend it. But be warned, you will receive an annual letter every year letting you know your dues are going up $10 to $15 a month. This is an on going practice to which they DO NOT respond to. I've sent letters, made calls and they simply do not give a damn. Good gym, shady billing practices! I am looking for another gym after all these years!!! read more

This is the worst place with no customer service in mind. They screw their existing members when they cancel the service. The contract is built that they automatically get one more billing cycle. For example, if you cancel on 7/31, one more billing cycle required to pay august. Worst comes if you cancel on 8/1. Then you are already in current billing cycle so you are also obliged to pay full September month. read more

At first I was so excited about joining Life Time Fitness, but that lasted for about a week. Their rock climbing wall was closed or not open the whole two months I was there (Which was the biggest reason I switched from 24hr to Life Time) I asked them why the rock climbing wall was never open, their response was "that's just our hours that it is open." They failed to mention that when I signed up, so the whole time I was there I didn't even get to use the Rock Climbing Wall. So that was a big let down for me, but that was not the biggest reason I left, the biggest reason I left was their equipment is completely outdated. It's obvious where they did their budget cuts! The love affair between myself and Life Time is still going strong. In the Life Spa, my stylist Brandy now does pedicures for me while the coloring on my hair sets. This was a HUGE step for me as I am really weird about people touching my feet (hey, we all got our quirks, ya' know?). Brandy coaxed me into getting one a few months ago and now I can't imagine going without one. She is detailed, thorough and reasonably priced. Score!! read more

I could not be more impressed with the professionalism and humanity of this fitness center. I am in the wellness industry and worked with fitness professionals in 4 states so this place made a large impression on me. I have only been a member for 2 weeks and have felt more welcome than any other I have had memberships with prior. Jessica signed me up without pressure and offered me many benefits that she didn't have to then set me up with Brandon who was so knowledgeable and patient as a trainer I can't wait to work with him again. Horrible customer service. Not only do they desperately email and call you everyday when you sign up for a one day complimentary pass, once you get there they insist on giving you a sales pitch before letting you test the facilities. One sales person "scheduled" a slot for us on the indoor tennis courts and when we showed up, they said no reservation was made but we could talk and sign up for a membership. We felt like it was a bait and switch tactic and we drove all the way from downtown Dallas to Plano just to find out we couldn't even play tennis. Needless to say we left disappointed and offended that this is how Lifetime Fitness treats first time visitors. read more

Unorganized mess. Disgusting restrooms and locker rooms that are not cleaned regularly. Junk has been piled on the basketball court making it unusable for weeks. The air conditioning was not functional in some of the studios for a couple of days. The equipment and facilities are in a constant state of disrepair. The staff is completely overwhelmed when asked about the issues with the club and never seems to have a complete answer on when/if the items will be corrected. There are several really nice Lifetime Athletic clubs in DFW. This is most definitely not one of them. read more

I wish there was a way to give this place negative stars. In July I came to the gym to get a quick workout. When I came to my locker my gym bag was hanging outside the locker. I heard some guy other side of locker room say my watch has been stolen. I looked through my stuff and notice my watch and wallet were stolen. Police were called and subsequent police report was made. After telling people what happened they mentioned this has happened numerous times before , as well as car windows being busted out. None of the security issues have been addressed. Right after this happened I asked for the manager of lifetime to call me. Nobody called me for about a week. Subsequently I emailed him to get information with no response. I asked the police officer in charge of the case if he had seen the video of people walking outside the locker room at time of the crime. He said lifetime wouldn't provide him the video until corporate approved release. . The police finally got the video after 3 weeks.. Its been over a month now only one time has anyone from lifetime reached out to tell me what's going on. I quit lifetime ,and had previously paid for personal training sessions . I was told they wouldn't be refunding me because that wasn't their policy. Not only are CRIMINALS hanging out in the locker room the place is completely disgusting. Seems like nobody ever cleans the locker room. I know a lot of people are moving to the area. I would avoid this place at all cost. read more
