Love this gym! I've had memberships at other lifetimes such as the one downtown but honestly I'd say this one is way better!! This lifetime is HUGE, and my favorite class to take is the cycling with Aimee. She's the best!!! Every time I go I get a KILLER workout and usually end up needing to rest a bit after class before waking to my car bc of how bad she kicks my butt. I love it. They also had a big number of treadmills and stair master which is so great because I'd hate showing up to the gym and everything being taken at the downtown location! Although I can never understand how my first experience here was ever permitted, I returned on my own accord to the spa and spoke to management about it. I told someone at the front desk about how inappropriate my initial therpist was and she said management would contact me. Almost a week went by, I heard nothing. So, I called myself, and was offered a new therapist after having to explain the embarrassing situation again. They booked me with another therapist that gave me a medium pressure swedish (this was the second non deep massage I received after sincerely requesting deep work). She was a kind person, but she did not listen to 3 requests for deep presssure. Since I did not have to pay for this second massage I cant complain too much, but its still not what I am accustomed to. Because I worked in the spa industry for 7 years I have had countless amazing massages.... and life spa just cannot compare. I do appreciate the apology and the attempt to establish better service, but I think they have a way to go to before being a spa with their price tag. It just wasnt for me, but I think anyone wanting a light to medium swedish massage may have a better experience here. read more

I just moved here to Austin from Orange County, California and one thing I wanted to find was a really good massage therapist who didn't just give you the "feel-good" Swedish massage but actually made you feel better when you left than when you came in ... And Cody here at life spa did exactly that. Her knowledge of the body and being able to use her hands to identify my pain and eliminate it was exactly what I needed. Melissa and the Ultimate Sports Pedicure from LifeSpa was life changing. I have a lot of tension in my neck, lower back and feet and this pedi relieved it all. She gave you 3 different 5 minute massages with hot oil, sugar scrub, and mint. She gives you a warm aloe scented compress for your neck and lower back that melts the tension away. Then she follows up with a paraffin wax and absolutely adorable toe painting. She is kind, courteous, asks you how you are feeling and if the massage is to you liking, delightful and hilarious. I had the best time getting to know her and relaxing with her. HIGHLY recommended for anyone who wants to be pampered. Thank you Melissa!! I also wanted to leave an amazing note about the hair stylist Briley. I have curly hair and am terrified to get my haircut by anyone. She sat me down gave me a very accurate consultation about what she thought would work best with my hair. I like everyone else brought in a Pinterest picture and was like "make me look like this." She was very honest and said well if you don't style your hair that way everyday that cut is probably not the best for your hair. TOTALLY ACCURATE. The team at the Lifespa is absolutely amazing. I have been getting my cut and color from Jessica for almost three years. She is super sweet and talented. Everyone has a positive attitude and they use the best product such as Aveda and Bumble. I would never go anywhere else. I recently received a Facial from April and was more than impressed. I originally was looking for a facial massage and she definitely took that into consideration. Her series of treatments left my face noticeably brighter and softer for days as well as relieving the jaw tension that irritates my neck and shoulders. I have been to lifespa to get my hair cut/colored from 3 different stylists, as well as one massage and two pedicures. Every experience was good. They were quick to get me in. For a salon that operates out of a gym, they do a good job. I get more compliments on my hair than when I have gone to other highly rated salons in Austin. (Mercy and Jessica do a great job). I have long, curly hair and it's difficult to find a stylist to give me the right cut. Rafael did an amazing job, giving me a quality of cut with long layers and angles that I've been looking for since I left NY 5 years ago! He didn't try to sell me a bunch of products, listened to my request, and gave me the best haircut I've had since I moved here. Worst massage ever. I've had several massages before, Denise is actually really good, but I got Evan this time. To start, no one asked me how long it was and the receptionist scheduled me for a 60 minute when I just wanted a 30 minute. I've been told the 30 minutes are for focusing on particular areas of pain while 60 and 90 minutes are usually for full body deals and relaxation. I said my neck and jaw were in pain and that's what I wanted focused. He asked me what else hurt and I said my lower back. He spent a good 40+ minutes beating the crap out of my upper back. He left bruises and when I said to lighten up on the pressure he would for a second but then would continue. When I said I was in pain, he said to hold it and start taking deep breaths. When I found out that he was working for an hour, I said I needed to go but he went ahead and finished the hour out. I wanted to cry when I left. I felt uncomfortable and in immense pain the entire time. I ended up leaving with more pain and stress and visible bruises than when I arrived. I'm so disappointed. I've had decent massages here before but this ruined it for me. I will never go back. I can't believe I wasted my time and money on this place. I NEED A MASSAGE TO RECOVER FROM THIS MASSAGE THAT'S HOW BAD IT WAS!! read more

Beth gives absolutely amazing massages. She has given me regular and prenatal massages and I won't go to anyone else. I've been given massages by several other massage therapists at other places and she is by far the best I've ever had. Her thorough knowledge of the human body and spirit coupled with her skill and strength really make me feel like I'm getting my money's worth and I never leave feeling disappointed, only blissed out and relaxed. She always asks what's going on with you before she starts and will work on whatever you ask her to, but she always seems to find my knots on her own and knows what I need more than I do.
