We've been using Lifestyle Meals for over a month now and are really happy. We've tried both the sports meals and the regular meals, just to compare services. Average calories for the sports meals are 1400/day. For the regular it's around 1300/day. Both give you flexibility for enjoying a beer, or tossing a salad to have on the side or perhaps a light dessert. That's a real winner. Now not every meal is going to please every taste. If you expect that, you should hire a personal chef to customize everything in your home (for a far higher price tag) or cook your own food. This is a perfect system for us - two very busy professionals who want convenience Monday-Friday without worrying about calorie-laden meals. The food is tasty and filling. Some items I wouldn't normally make, but I'm not making the food - so who cares? Plus Chris is great to adjust what he supplies if there's something you truly don't like. None of the food is prepared with salt, another huge plus. He uses other seasonings to deliver flavor without tons of sodium. We've found that 3 weeks worth of food serves us well for a month because of the random lunch and dinners out during the week. With that in mind, the price point is great. We prefer the regular meals - more flavor and variety over the sports. But the sports were unbelievably filling. More food than we could easily eat in a day (and just 1400 calories!). (So no point given for this one) - Half-priced coupon from Living Social (One point given for this) The bad... - False advertisement of the menu items. They add a ridiculous amount of onions, peppers, and BEANS *wtf?!* to pretty much every dish just to bulk them up. How hard (or expensive) is it to just make baked broccoli or cheesy corn without adding all that other crap? - These meals were not meant to be frozen and every single one of them had freezer burn when they arrived. - They aren't portioned out correctly in nutrients or size. I'm not a dietician, but I do know that you need most of your carbs/calories/sugar earlier in the day when you can burn them off, not all jammed into the dinner entree. - Sodium. These meals are packed with sodium. The gross... - The mystery "beef". Seriously, what is that? All in all, I really wanted to like LifeStyle meals. I ate LifeStyle Meals for about 6 months and I found the food to be just the right size, low sodium, low sugar, nutritious and filling. I absolutely loved the breakfast items and most of the dinners too. The meatballs and corn dish and the various frittatas stand out to me as the most memorable. The meal plan (and conversations with Chris) really taught me to portion my foods more appropriately and made me start monitoring my sugar and sodium intake more closely. To this day, I have kept off the weight I have lost (and actually lost more) partially due to what I learned from eating on this plan. I'm a busy person and don't often have a lot of time to cook. I found this plan easy to stick to, brainless (just pop it in the microwave) and delicious. I especially enjoyed the delivery aspect of the service and the 2 weeks worth of food delivered at one time. I discontinued my meal service when LifeStyle Meals stopped delivering to my city. I started a plan with My Fit Foods soon after and found their meals lacked substance, their service and variety was lacking, it was more expensive and I had to constantly go to their store 2x a week to get food. I just don't have time for that. I definitely recommend giving LifeStyle Meals a try if you are truly looking to eat "cleaner." I believe they do first-month specials from time to time. Purchased a Living Social deal Feb 22nd, 2015 and had a few questions before ordering. I called multiple times throughout the next three weeks with no answers and call backs, even after I left multiple messages. I went online and submitted a question through the site and still never received a reply. If no one has the professional courtesy of answering a phone call, call back, or email message; I'd rather not deal with them professionally. I'm a big proponent of fresh, healthy ingredients, and portion controlled ready-to-go meals. These guys slide into that space with My Fit Foods & Simply Fit Meals. I have reordered several times and have always found their meals to be great tasting, cost efficient, and enough variety to keep me interested. The portions are perfectly sized to satisfy my appetite and I don't ever feel like I'm overeating. I recently finished up a month (15 meals a week x 4) in combination with my normal fitness routine & I dropped noticeable weight while maintaining high energy levels. I've had a great experience so far with Lifestyle Meals DFW. I ordered a Groupon, and filled out the online form to request delivery. He called about 15 minutes ahead of time and I gave him the gate code, and there were my meals! I wasn't able to be home when he delivered, but my roommate brought the meals inside. By the time I got home an hour later, the bag had still kept everything perfectly frozen. It's only Tuesday, so I've had 4 meals (after breakfast) and I'm really enjoying them! I"m usually a picky eater, but there's nothing I haven't been able to eat. I had heard about Lifestyle Meals through a friend and tried one of theirs and enjoyed it. Then I saw a Groupon for it and figured it was a sign, so I ordered. I also utilize Herbalife, so I have one Lifestyle Meal and two shakes per day along with my snacks that I do on my own but sometimes forget because I'm satisfied from my meal. So for me, this works perfectly with my current program since all the meals are flash frozen, they stay fresh longer than other options. Anytime I can support a local company I do. I decided to try Lifestyle Meals two weeks ago and so far I'm thrilled with the customer service, convenience, and the food. When I ordered I sent an email to Chris requesting a meal plan around a specific macro breakdown and within an hour he responded back informing me he could create a menu for me based on my macro request. I encourage people to be realistic with any service like this. If you are used to eating sugary, greasy, fatty, and processed foods than you will have to get used taste of the food. I ordered a living social deal with 15 meals. So far I've tried 2 breakfast entrees. The first was an egg scramble and was just okay. The second looked like dog food and tasted terrible so I threw it out. The dinner entree was meatballs-maybe soy? I could only eat half of it. The lunch entree was meat with spicy corn. The corn had a sweet weird aftertaste. I didn't expect healthy meals to taste like the full fat versions, but I expected better taste from the reviews posted. Just wanted to update my review as I've ordered again from Chris. Got my meals and extremely satisfied with the variety, price, and service. Chris texted me a few minutes before dropping off. Always fantastic customer service over the years. The meals may be a little different than what you're used to, but very good. I know what i'm eating is lower calorie, a reasonable amount of sodium, good protein, etc. For me it's more about a balanced diet and not eating out so much. If you're a really really picky eater, Chris will work with you, but don't expect miracles. This service to me is more about nutrition. Yea, sometimes added beans in a dish is a little weird, but I don't mind because I know that's protein and fiber and none of it tastes bad. You'll be much more happy if you view this service as a means of replacing your crummy diet and eating healthier than if you look at it as a too busy to cook, straight meal replacement. I am a working mom and it has taken so much stress out of my life to not have to worry about meals. And everything is really good! Meat in the meals was mysterious and terrible. When I wrote to the rep, he apologized and said they couldn't get the meat they wanted from their vendor. The fact that they know they are serving subpar food (I'm talking dogfood grade) and thinks it's better to do that than take a loss and grab some Costco meat for a while until they fix THEIR vendor situation is appalling. I was so frightened by thought of what else they might do that I told them to keep the rest of the food an not deliver it. I think I lost something like $200. I love this service. I work from home, live alone, and have a crazy schedule, so I often forget to eat, and really hate to shop for groceries. Enter LifeStyle Meals. I really like their breakfast meals--often an egg scramble of sorts, and it helps me to remember to eat breakfast. The rest of the meals are good portions--filling but not overly so. And with the nutritional information on each container, I can keep track of my intake. I've actually lost weight just gradually, and it super quick and easy--I MAJOR requirement for me. Chris has been responsive and helpful. For example, one meal had pineapple in it, and that didn't work for me. All the meals are microwaved, and I prefer my pineapple fresh, not zapped. They put that in my file and promised not to include pineapple again! I definitely appreciate the flexibility of having prepared meals ready to go in 5 minutes or less. I have been a Lifestyle Meals customer for over 6 weeks now and I LOOOOOVE IT! The food is so delicious! The meals are hearty and filling and feel like home-cooked comfort food even though it is all nutritionally balanced and portion controlled. I saw another reviewer complain about the way there will be broccoli or beans added to a dish where you don't expect it but I love that - I know it is giving me more nutrients and fiber and making me feel full with fewer calories. I think the veggies everywhere are awesome! And it is just so incredibly easy to order & receive the delivery. Chris has been so friendly and responsive when I have called & emailed him. He let's me know when he will deliver and he always shows up right on time with a smile and a big freezer bag full of deliciousness! He offered to make substitutions if there are any meals I didn't like as much as the others but honestly, I like them all and the variety is so fun that I didn't even have any substitution requests to give him! There is such freedom in not having to think about what I am going to eat. I don't have to grocery shop or cook or even think about it! It gives me such peace of mind to know my freezer is full of healthy meals so when I'm hungry, I just choose one, eat it, and move on with my day knowing my body will feel satisfied and healthy. DON'T DO IT! Wish I could rate this a 0. I scheduled and confirmed a delivery date a month in advance and on that date he was a no call no show! After several emails text and VMa he emailed me and said his car was stolen and he would deliver in a couple of days. Again no call no show. Again after several calls, text, and vms he responses and says he's getting a car and he'll do it Monday. Well he did delivery on Monday but he left the meals in an open overfilled freezer bag and didn't bother to let me know. He has my email, text, phone. So I don't find out until Tuesday, which wouldn't be a problem if he would have told front office staff because they would have put it in the refrigerator. he didn't. So I call, email and text him Tuesday all day and he fails to respond until the next day with a flip response blaming it on the front office staff of course This is the second time I've tried this company and the second time I've been utterly disappointed. Ohh did I mention he emailed me that he's located on Lovers Ln and Greenville Ave. I went there to return the food and NO ONE including the vitamin store, the fitness center and the Property Management Companies in the area have ever heard of him or his company. Superior customer service when I asked for special dietary combinations, a change in delivery time to accommodate our family, and always quick to reply to MANY, MANY questions we had. The food is outstanding. We ordered a three month package. A huge variety of foods and combinations with an emphasis on a balanced, well proportioned, tasty meals with an emphasis on increasing fiber and appropriate portion sizes. Really LOVE these meals. They have been a lifesaver for me in trying to lose weight sensibly and enjoy very tasty meals right out of my freezer, brought to me weekly. It is healthy food, creatively prepared with only small amounts of the ingredients we are told to eat in moderation when trying to lose weight. Last year, for 6 months I ate most of my meals from Life Styles and not only enjoyed them, but lost 10 pounds in 6 months, while maintaining my exercise schedule 3-4 times a week. That's exactly what most doctor-approved diet plans require: eat less and exercise more. This year, I've started back on the meals because of travel and less time available for cooking. The meals are just as good as last year and the service is fantastic always. Wouldn't know what to do about maintaining or losing weight without Life Style Meals. Chris and Julie are real pros at menu selections, customer service and at being highly knowledgeable health food guides. PS: Don't understand these negative comments on Yelp. I purchased a "deal" from Living Social and followed the directions for submitting the order online via their "Contacts" tab. When I did not receive a confirmation from them, I followed up with a phone call and left a voice mail as no one answered. Several days later I still had not heard back from them, so I called again. It has now been over 8 weeks since my initial contact - my deal has now expired - and they have STILL not contacted me. I have left three voice mail messages because no one EVER answers the phone, and I have sent two email messages in addition to the original order I placed. There has been no response from them. So in essence - they received my money from Living Social (who also took their cut), but they have failed to deliver anything...including customer service. I am out $63 because Living Social will not engage in resolving the issue either. So I have been scammed by both LifeStyle Meals AND Living Social. Buyer beware - these folks are crooks. read more
