I recently went through training with Lifetime Solutions, and my experience was very disappointing and confusing. I originally felt excited about the opportunity when I was contacted by Asher Hudson about the position. However, communication quickly became very inconsistent. It was often difficult to get a response when I had questions, yet during the Zoom meeting he was answering other phone calls while the training was happening. One thing that also made me uncomfortable was being told that if I didn't have my Social Security card available, I wouldn't be allowed to access the meeting or continue with the process. That felt strange for what was supposed to be an initial training meeting. Looking back, it made me feel like I was being pushed to provide personal information right away before even really understanding the job. On the training day, I was actually the only trainee who showed up in person while everyone else attended through Zoom. You would think that being there in person would mean receiving more hands-on training, but that wasn't the case. The trainer repeatedly walked out of the room and mostly just told everyone to keep practicing the script instead of actually helping us learn it. One moment that stood out to me was when another trainee who was struggling to form full sentences in English was told she was doing great. But when I made a small mistake while practicing the script, I was immediately told that I "wasn't ready" and was asked to clock out. It felt very inconsistent and confusing, especially since we were all still learning. The script itself was also uncomfortable to perform. Trainees are expected to approach random people at Home Depot and say that they are doing "free water testing" and that they will receive a Home Depot gift card for giving their comments. From what I understood, the goal is to collect people's information so someone from another area can later come to their home to test their water. The gift card felt more like a tactic to get people to agree rather than something that was clearly explained upfront. Another concerning moment was hearing someone in another room loudly cussing on the phone and saying that he had "messed around." That kind of environment during a training session didn't feel professional at all. Overall, the training process felt rushed, disorganized, and misleading. I left feeling confused about the expectations and disappointed with how the situation was handled. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering working here ask very detailed questions about the actual job duties and training process before accepting a position!! read more

We had our old legacy unit serviced and the technician Hector was very courteous, knowledgeable and explained very clearly what he was doing (testing the city water and pressure) and the results of the service. Anger is a great motivator. And it's a tough one because in my many years of getting service from this company (the recommended rainsoft vendor for Los Angeles) which is based out of Victorville. I am always left feeling like I've been ripped off. And I don't know why they don't address their issues which are repeatedly highlighted in their reviews. First and foremost, the company is basically the dispatch center and their service people are based and scheduled all around the region. And every time I schedule something I'm optimistic and then when I deal with their techs, they leave me angry and motivated to learn this stuff on my own. The glaring issue that comes from this place is their service people have a ton of autonomy to just do anything. They focus more on upselling their services than handling ur service request. In my experience they only do high pressure sales, and shoddy work. They guys (only have had male techs) just talk down to you or are rude when they don't get their way. Example, my unit had a leak and it took 2 years and 4 techs before the last one finally fixed it. The others weren't interested in handling a minor leak. This service peraon went above and beyond. Unfortunately, he left the company and I had deal with a new person. I scheduled my service date. The tech calls me to tell me when he would be there. Not schedule a time with me as promised. Just to tell me I need to be there cause "I've got things to do today." No window. No courtesy. Just rude. This call and setup was nothing like their dispatch advised and it's just wild it's like that. I instead watched youtube videos and fixed the problem myself. So I should thank him for saving me 800 dollars. This place isn't cheap which makes the rudeness even worse. I give this place a 2 star because their dispatch is usually friendly. He was able to fix the leak that had came from a busted old copper pipe that was attached to our water softening system and had resulted in flooding our garage. I spent 20,000 for a permanent whole house generator. Ruth was great in coordinating project but their electricians were terrible. They broke my garage door however Ruth arranged for the repair cost reduced from the balance due. Fast forward to this morning. We had a power failure. The generator came on but stopped after about 10 minutes. We went outside & noticed our neighbors had power but we didn't. I called Life Time's # and the recording gave an emergency #. Problem is no one answered when I called so I called my neighbor. He discovered a yellow wire came loose. He stated it wasn't "snapped in"properly at installation. Once he fixed the problem we had power once more. Again their electricians do sloppy work. Update: After my neighbor fixed their sloppy work, they called. The tech they were sending was delayed and I got a call from the supervisor of the ones that broke my garage door & didn't install wire correctly so I told him not to come & called the company again. I didn't care if the tech would arrive later as I waited all day already. At about 5 pm until Will showed up. He was professional and kind. He checked all the wires & connections and did a simulation. He said my neighbor got it right in that the yellow came loose. I'm adding an additional star because of will but supervisor & the electricians he supervise would get a big O! It's irritating I paid someone else to fix their sloppy work. Did a Home Depot water test and the results revealed hard water and very high TDS. Then they wanted to sell me a Rain Soft system which I already have that is producing these results. They contact Lifetime Solutions and my water tests perfect. They have no explanation why our skin is dry, water spots on the shower doors, or calcium buildup on faucets. Then they change the reverse osmosis filters. Now my drinking water is dirty. They expect me to sit around for 5 days before they can look at my system. Black and white junk coming out of my drinking water faucet. You would think they would like to fix this immediately but no. Let's make the customer wait. If you ever need to replace a water pressure reducing valve go to Lowe's or any other hardware store. Look it up if they have it they are a lot cheaper there and super easy to replace. Do it yourself and safe yourself a lot of money. Just make sure you check that everything is in the box. People like to just take out what the need. Like O-rings. Definitely felt like a scam. Submitted our water sample through Home Depot Home Services and received a call that our levels were high and they needed to send a technician out to test our levels, and lucky us! There was a tech available THAT NIGHT at 8:30pm. Thought it was going to be fast, so said OK. The tech (Raymond, I think) arrived and proceeded to start setting up in our kitchen, but needed to borrow supplies from us (towels, cups, etc.). Weird, but ok.. He proceeded to show us how terrible our water was and how amazing his filtered water was. Good performance. We told him halfway through that we had just signed up for a bathroom remodel and our budgets were tapped.. but he kept going. He handed us a $9k price tag and tried to convince us it was worth every penny and even offered to call his manager to get us a 2 year deferral of payment. We still said no. Even after we said no, he called his manager (who didn't answer because at this time, it was ALMOST 10PM) We finally convinced him we were not going to say yes, and his entire demeanor shifted. He was no longer friendly, damn near threw a temper tantrum when he handed over the signature line for us to redeem our Home Depot gift cards (3x $10 gift cards, which we had only found out about from the caller). He left a complete mess in our kitchen and we were honestly concerned that he was going to key our cars or return and egg our house or something. He was just SO mad that we said no. Needless to say, it left a terrible taste in our mouth, and finding out that they're an authorized dealer (he made it sound like he worked directly for RainSoft), and then seeing all these reviews definitely makes us feel better for walking away. read more

The absolute worst place I have ever done business with. Kathy is very rude and would not even let me speak. Worst customer service I had an install of a water treatment package and our bill tripled. We fought back and forth for months. Finally got to the point where they said they would come in uninstall. When the gentleman came he was actually nice came and uninstalled and told me that I would get credited back for the system when I got my statement and I saw I didn't get credited I called them and they told me that I was liable for the total amount and that even though they took all the stuff I was still owing the total amount so they came and took everything and I still owe them and I have no system stay away from this place it is a total ripoff! read more

They are in Victorville and charge $150 just to drive to LA. This does not include the actual service or parts. I had a Rainsoft system for many years and after Rainsoft went belly up, they did maintenance. In the end, the techs couldn't fix my problem and actually ended up killing several of my plants because they screwed it up. I ended up getting a brand new system with a local company just so I wouldn't ever have to deal with them again. Good riddance Lifetime. read more

Wanted to provide an update to my review. I was contacted to try and "fix" my issues, but I already ordered a replacement system after the people in the service department decided I wasn't worth the time, and just wanted more of my money. I did an inspection on my equipment, and am pretty shocked at what I found. It looks like the guy who did my last maintenance (less than 2 months ago) did not do a proper maintenance... I found TONS of bacteria on several of my cartridges, as well as, within the lids of my system! No wonder why we've been getting sick for the last couple months... this stuff has been going directly into our bodies! Amazing when you trust people with your wife, kids... treated like crap. No care or bother over making people sick! I've also taken pictures of a standard 5 stage reverse osmosis system. Apparently, they didn't think the last two stages were appropriate, or useful? Installed the new system MYSELF within about an hour and a half, and am really happy with how easy it went... so much better having the peace-of-mind, that my family will be drinking CLEAN water verses this junk! read more

I used lifetime's monthly maintenance program after installing the water system. In January 2018...that's right, 2018, I called and cancelled the monthly maintenance bc I didn't feel it was worth it. The person on the phone said that's fine and then just today, over 2 years later they sent me a bill charging me every month from February 2018 until now. I hadn't heard from them since I called in 2018. Completely irresponsible and frustrating to deal with. They'll bill you 2 years after you cancel. read more

I bought a Rain Soft purifier and softener while shopping at Home Depot. I was going to settle for one of the under-the-counter types. I'm so glad that I didn't waste my money! For the last 3 years, Lifetime Solutions have serviced my Rain Soft equipment. There was additional service this year routine maintenance. Martin came over, serviced the system quick and really made sure I understood the menu items on the filtration system. He did a great job and was happy to take any extra time I needed to walk through any questions I had with the system. Great job, Martin! I had my soft water and reverse osmosis installed when I first purchased the house in Southern California that was over eight years ago. They recommended me to sign up for monthly maintenance. I gave my bank account information so they can automatically deduct the fees from my checking account. There are many times that no service guy shows up and they continue to deduct the fees from my checking account. In 2019, I sold my house. I called them to let them know that the house was sold and requested them to cancel the services and making sure that they removed my bank information and stop billing me. Since then, they had stopped billing me. However, in August 7th, 2021, I suddenly noticed there's a $43.00 from my bank account. I tried to call them since that day. Waited for more than 30 minutes each time to connect to their billing Dept. I finally spoke to the girl in billing. She promised to credit back the amount which was charged by mistakes. Up until today, I haven't seen the credit being applied to my bank account. I keep calling her but she keeps giving me different excuses each time I talked to her. She said her supervisor hasn't or still reviewing the case. This is ridiculous! She can't even explain the reason for the charges. However, she keeps assuring me that the charges will be refunded back to me. She promised to call me back. It's more than 20 days and I haven't heard back or received any refunds or credit yet. My goodness. I can still see theses people are up to the sames games. They sell an absolute amazing product RAINSOFT, however they , Brenda and Greg , the owners are just wrong with customer service. I worked for them, in service deot for a few years, as I started helping and applying more customer service, they bought a Riverside co and their new office manager did not like me Ruth, and lil by little more shit was happening and I got fired. SO llong story short, they plumb homes backwards during install, sometimes not even installing within the 3 day that the consumer has to CANCEL. Just alot of shady stuff. I guess iam not shocked to see these complaints are still occuring. I was fired and signed a NDA for 3 years. Guess what!!! ITS BEEN 3 years. ANy questions, ask, any complaints about the sytem, I strongly recommend contatcing BBB AND if any flooding, often theyll blame homeowner, quite frankly its negligence on their behalf. I also believe if you have a service plan.... CANCEL its a rip and they never come within the time (which make the filters psill and JG fittings can blow)and you do not get enough salt, etc!!!! UPDATE: I contacted RainSoft directly and shortly after Lifetime Solutions called me and set up a complimentary second year service visit. The tech Jim was an experienced tech who was polite, friendly and quick, and definitely tried to make up for the previous negative experience. Most importantly, he actually showed up and was on-time for his window! Fingers crossed next year we get Jim or have a similar experience! ORIGINAL REVIEW: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY NEVER SHOW UP! My RainSoft water system (from Home Depot) is 3 years old. I called to schedule my second year service visit and filter replacement a month in advance and set the appointment for this last Saturday 9/2. FYI you have to wait on hold 10-15 minutes to speak to someone. They don't give you a time window until the day of your appointment and they also don't follow-up call/email to confirm your appointment. As a result, my husband and I blocked our entire Saturday so we would be home until the tech arrived. I received a phone call from the tech at 9AM on Saturday with my time window that he would arrive between 11AM-1PM. By 1PM the tech had not arrived or called. I called him and left a voicemail. I tried calling the main office number and received auto message they were closed. Eventually tech texted there was an "emergency" and he lost track of time and WOULD NOT BE COMING AT ALL. He said the office would call me to reschedule. I tried calling him back, but again his phone rang and went to voicemail. I texted my frustration and the tech texted back that he would inform the office and see what they could do. Well here we are at 2PM having waited all day at home for the tech to arrive, who was not arriving after all. The irony is the same EXACT scenario happened last year at our one year servicing appointment- there was an "emergency" (where we again found out after our time window lapsed) and we ended up having to reschedule (they offered no apologies, discounts etc). What are the chances of this happening twice in a row? Here we are now at EOD the Thursday after my service visit was cancelled and the office still hasn't called me! (Not to apologize, reschedule, offer me a discount/free service visit etc). I will be looking for other service providers who can service my RainSoft water system. Lifetime Solutions is not dependable or professional. Absolutely no customer service. No credibility to show up or even properly notify or follow-up with the customer. They are a "service" company! The customer service is lacking big time. My water softener system was installed on 6/8. The tech was supposed to bring out my soap that day - he didn't. He told me it would be shipped on 6/10. On 6/17, I still don't have my supplies. When I called, Desirae claimed it would arrive in "the next couple of days". When I asked for a tracking number, she claimed one would not be available until tomorrow. While at Home Depot my husband was asked if we wanted out water tested so they made an appt. that same day, Sunday, to come out and test it. This man was persistent and convinced me that the water Filtration system by Rainsoft is the way to go. I wanted a soft water system with salt but he said it is illegal in the city limits. He brought in a kit and gave us a demonstration of what the water will feel like and that's what sold me. Of course, he brought his own little water system to rinse the soap off my hands. His system must've been a salt water system because it made my hands feel amazing and just the way I wanted our system to do. Total scam! The man's name is Gerard and he'll feed you all a bunch of lies to make a sell. I sent him a text a little under a month after install and said "we should've started feeling the softer water by now shouldn't we?" He ignored me. By the time I talked to him again and told him how dry their system made my hair and wanted to return it, he said it's too late, we're already locked in. That's a bunch of BS. He was supposed to come back and retest the water but he never did so we had someone else from home depot come test it. The results were within normal limits they said. Well then, why does our water test the same as my daughter's and she doesn't even have a filter? The men that did the install seemed to know what they were doing but something is definitely wrong. I wish I would've read the reviews before I signed the papers. $6,500 lesson learned. Don't use this company! read more

Hector T. At Lifetime Solutions was very helpful in updating out water softener system. We have a RainSoft treatment system for our house. Lifetime solutions comes out every three or four months to change the filters and do basic upkeep. Hector went out of his way to work with my schedule and played phone tag with me to make sure we got the system serviced. I love bring able to shower and do my dishes with soft water. My hair and skin are smooth and my dishes and showers have no hard water spots. I'm pleased. read more

Henry was my original installer. At that time, he was very thorough and explained the entire job. Since then, I've had a couple service reps out and the last time, June, 2016, I was surprised and very happy to see it was Henry. He is very friendly and professional and did a great job. I thought Lifetime Solutions would have already called me to set up a service appointment and remind me I need a new filter (as they had in the past). I have not received a call and, just by chance, I saw that I have the message on the unit saying I need a filter and to call for service. read more

Do NOT spend your money on the Clean Start system. The water system is fine but my dad and I were duped. We were told that we wouldn't need to use any detergent to wash our clothes and if we had any stains, they would come right out. That was in fact, a lie. Now, we have clothes with stains on them, and I ALWAYS have to use oxy clean and laundry soap. If an item does have a stain, I make sure to use spray and wash. So basically, we forked out a ton of money to get the entire system and we were lied to about how good Clean Start would work. If you want clean drinking water, Rain Soft is a great product to have, but if you want clean clothes, don't waste your time and get Clean Start. I called the company and gave the name of the representative, who obviously works on commission and doesn't care if he lies to people, including a disabled Vietnam Veteran. Don't get coerced into a water test. The technician uses pool test chemicals and pseudo science to convince the homeowner to buy a water softening system which is rarely necessary. I gave 1 stars because the product looks promising considering its Lifetime guarantee but.... Customer service is terrible! There is no corporate and sure they are polite but no one will ever actually call you back including management. If you aren't making this company money, you aren't worth their time and make you feel like you are a waste of time. We had the "big test" done and they give you 2 options for financing...1 apply for Home Depot line of credit or 2 in house financing which still goes through Home Depot. We then scheduled installation on Thursday around 530 and were told maybe it could be done sooner by he rep James Hoody, he would call us Friday, no call so I called. That rep said he couldn't see the schedule and had to do too much to get into the system, he will call me back, never did. Monday, install day, yay! No. I call at 8am to confirm install scheduled from 830-10 and am told no install that my rep would call me...he did only to say we were not approved for in house financing and was told he would call me back after he figured it why because no one, not even the financing told him we were not. No call back. Tried his to call his cell phone a few times to check the status and all I got was voicemail. Was told Lenard who is the sales manager is right on it, right away, ASAP!! No call from him either. Surprise? Actually I was. The poor girls in the office didn't know how to respond except "oh wow this never happens, I'm so sorry, let me try to help you right away, I'll call you back. No calls back. We just bought our home 2 weeks ago and were told that the credit wouldn't look so hot until about 3 months later so that's why we opted for the in house financing. Come 3 months when we are able to make big purchases I will remember those who cared enough about our time and effort and it will NOT be Lifetime Solutions 100% My husband took the day off from work so he could be here at install when they explained how things functioned. Again all we got was sorries and we understand. I get things happen but no phone calls to keep your customers updated is just common curtesy especially when you didn't ask for one to explain why we were not approved for "in house" financing, that was all promised by the rep James Hoody read more

The serviceman was friendly on time efficient . He replaced the filters of our alkaline water and said he is all finished but when we started drinking from our alkaline water after he left. The water tasted very bad. Tasted like rotten. We let it run, wasting about 3 gallons of water but it still tastes rotten though it doesn't have any odor. Called back office and said I need to empty the container under our sink and let it run for an hour fill it up then run again. The rotten taste is diminishing so I had to run and waste more water to get rid of the rotten taste. I had no issues with the filter changes in the past and the previous servicemen tested our water before changing the filter but this time it was not tested.
