My oh my how things can change in a year. Came back to the OBX for our annual vacation and stayed in same rentals house as a year ago. Owner left us a coupon for a free dozen. Went in to claim the free dozen and purchase other dozen a small flavored cream cheese and some crumb buns. Tally was close to $100.00. You have got to be joking!! Food is same but prices are outrageous. Coming out of Long Island I know what a good bagel looks like. Lighthouse bagel are ok but cannot hang with strong island bagels and are definitely not worth the price. Buyer beware and hit the ATM before you come in!!! read more

Delicious, generously sized bagels with lots of cream cheese. Did an online order on a Tuesday morning at 8am, and pickup time was 9:30, so plan ahead. Long line to pickup, but there is a designated pickup window for to-go orders (to the right of the line to get in the door), so I recommend doing that. They will text you when your order is ready. We were shorted a bagel that we already paid for, so recommend checking your order before you leave so everyone in your group gets fed! In the same shopping center as Food Lion, so good place to get a few groceries and then pick up some bagels. Would be 5 stars if we weren't missing a pre-paid bagel. read more

Easily the absolute best bagel place we've ever gotten breakfast from and we're from NY/NJ!!! No only are the bagels hot and fluffy, but the variety was nothing I've ever seen before! Me and my girls loved the pretzle, cinnamon, and french toast bagels; my husband loved the siracha everything bagel! The line out the door is 1000% worth the wait! I took the time on line to talk w some of the locals who were kind enough to share some of their favorite hot spots w me! One thing we didn't try, but definitely will next time is their tray of coffee cake! I heard it's also the best!!! The bagels at Lighthouse are great authentic NY bagels and we've been enjoying them for the past few summers during our annual visits to Corolla. Our only gripe is that it typically takes a decent wait for any breakfast sandwich aside from a bagel with cream cheese. Huge breakfast order for 6 people. Assembly line starts and everything marked, packaged and handed to us in 10 minutes. Ordering was easy. Checkout was efficient. Our wait was long both before and after ordering and our order was not correct. We ordered two plain bagels with plain cream cheese, along with tomato on one. After leaving, we discovered there was no tomato. The bagels were no better than grocery store brands. In fact, we didn't eat half. The croissant was adequate and the cinnamon roll was good. The man checking people out, who I assume is the owner, was wearing what I consider to be an inappropriate work shirt. It was an Hawaiian print shirt with assault rifles all over it. No matter what your beliefs are, a public business is not the place for this. There have no doubt been customers that have been affected by gun violence that this has been upsetting to. I come from a town that experienced a mass shooting recently and I found his shirt to be disgusting , unprofessional, and heartbreaking. Show compassion, or at least consideration for those around you. My family and I will never eat there again. read more

It's a typical bagel place. The bagels are fine but nothing that can't be had at any number of shops anywhere. It will do what you need but don't expect a life changing experience. Something I have not seen before is a sarachia bagel. I didn't personally try it but others thought it was good. read more

well... its labor day weekend.. the place is short staffed. Again its labor day weekend... (preparing would have been a good business move) we came for breakfast. Simple bagels and cream cheese and egg sandwich. As a person from new york (the mecca of breakfast bagels and sandwiches) this was just okay. When I got there it was breakfast time, when i finally placed my order it was lunch time. Over an hour and a half waiting in line is unacceptable. Im glad youre busy but thats unacceptable. This isnt an eat in place its an order and wait for sandwiches and bagels type of deli situation. The food wasnt spectacular but the staff was nice. im only giving them 3 stars because they were one of the few places open on a sunday. read more

This is a good breakfast/bagel spot in Corolla. Bagels are fresh and taste great for this area. Wouldn't say they're quite as good as a NY/NJ bagel but they're very good for a North Carolina bagel. This place has gone down hill and fast. Quantity over quality is definitely become their new motivation. Online ordering is horrible. No plain bagels, they force you to get butter or cream cheese on the bagel so they can charge more. It's not worth it any longer, they are just interested in taking tourist's money. read more

It pains me to say this... but the bagels here are better than most of the places I've gone to in nyc! Some unique products too... beer pretzel bagel, cinnamon burst bagel, French toast bagel, etc. And they're all fantastic. I'm a bit of a bagel snob, and I'd put this place up against any bagel shop in New York. The bagels are big and fluffy, with a good crust on the outside and a soft chewy center. The cream cheese selection is great too. The cinnamon rolls were a big hit with the kiddos and I hope to visit again before the end of our vacation to try the pecan sticky buns. Great cold brew as well! If you're looking for a quick and delicious breakfast, this is the only place I'd go. Check this place out! read more

I have literally never eaten any food I like more than their french toast bagels.

THE gem of Corolla. We had a wonderful vacation in Corolla, and I asked my boys (ages 4&6) what their favorite part about vacation was-they said ghost crabbing AND Lighthouse bagels. I would have to agree with them. One of our favorites was the cinnamon burst bagel-better than any cinnamon bagel I've ever had. They are perfectly warm and doughy on the inside but firm on the outside with a dusting of powdered sugar on top to seal the deal. A close second was the pretzel beer bagel. It's perfect on its own or in place of a boring old sandwich bun. We also loved the giant soft pretzels and the crumb cake. Omg. The crumb cake was basically just a layer of brown sugar goodness with a little cake underneath. I'm surprised the crumble on top didn't collapse the cake-it was so rich and daydream-worthy. The staff here is also super friendly and efficient. The line was always close to or out the door on the mornings we visited, but it moved quickly. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back (to Corolla and Lighthouse Bagels ). read more

Wish I would have read the reviews before I brought my family here. Lots of signs about "you must wear a mask to enter" and "do not enter of the line is at the door" ... However NOT ONE employee wore a mask, not the people making the food, not the workers walking through the restaurant out the door to deliver food to customers waiting outside, not the cashier (who was very sweet, probably the only nice person in the place). There was plexiglass between me and the people behind the counter, but there was nothing between them and my food!!! We ordered five sandwiches. When the order came out, mine was completely wrong and my husband's was missing entirely. When they made mine, it was still incorrect, despite one of the worker's telling the guy making my sandwich no red peppers three times. On the positive side, the food was delicious, as was the complimentary coffee cake given to us by the cashier for our trouble. Mistakes happen, but as long as they don't wear masks, I will NOT be back. read more

This was our first experience at this little Bagel shop, but it's flavor shows it how big this place really is. We got an assortment of different bagels, from everything BEC bagel to a French toast bagel. Multiple combinations you can make throughout the menu. I am not a fan of bagels but was picking up an order for my hubby, I have issues when it comes to customer service I am a believer that when you have a service that gives you window times to pick up orders, they should also pay attention to the freaking window that says ONLINE PICK UP ORDERS HERE... Great bagels but... poor COVID-19 measures. Not a single employee is wearing a mask, including the person breathing on your bagel as it is prepared. They have a few plexiglass screens over the counter but the screens do not completely separate the maskless employees from the customers. They also appear to be discouraging mask use with a sign on the door stating that if you're not wearing a mask, they will assume you have an "honorable exemption." read more

Great bagel selections, just wished they would have toasted my bagel a little darker. Guess next time I will specify and hope for the best. Well I went the next day and asked for my everything bagel to be toasted twice and then spread with melted butter. It did not disappoint! A NY bagel in North Carolina! I kid you not, if you are in the area please go here! When I walked in and saw a line I knew i was at the right spot. It moved quickly and I even got to sample their homemade cinnamon roll, which was delicious, it even sparked the wife to order one which we ate on the car ride home to PA. Man it was good.
