Average hotel, you get what you pay for, can't really complain much. What I will complain about though, is that the lady at the front desk was not very knowledgeable about the rooms. We requested a room with USB charging ports (which is pretty common in hotel lamps), only to go up to the room and find out there was no USB charging ports. It was also apparently one of the newer renovated rooms, yet there were stains on the floor. We immediately went back down to change rooms and got an older room, but at least cleaner, however still no USB charging. Other than that, there's nothing else I can complain about. The beds were decently comfortable, you have toiletries like shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion all available in the bathroom, and you can call room service for extras. They however do not have slippers. There's also an ice bucket in the room to get ice from the ice machine, which is on every floor, along with vending machines. However there's only one water fountain, which is on the first floor. There is also a coffee machine with coffee and tea packets in the room. There is a closet by the door with a small safe. The TV also works fine. I believe they also have a pool and gym that we didn't visit. The continental breakfast (free) was small but acceptable, as you get what you paid for. They have things like toast, waffles, eggs, sausages, fruits, coffee, milk, cereal, juice. The dining area is quite nice, with a view of Lake Erie. The best part is probably the free parking and no absurd fees (at least when I visited). Overall, very decent hotel for the price. They just need to work on training the workers better, and maybe switching lamps with USB ports.

I may be young but I'm a graduate student at SUNY Fredonia and would never dream of smoking in general, and definitely never inside! The room was very expensive for what you get. $400+ for 2 nights. Because of this extreme price I tried to be proactive and meal prep for myself to save on money. Just to get to my room and realize that there was no microwave like the website advertised. There's one in the lobby but with weird buttons that seem to be designed to only heat up the breakfast items they serve. And with no elevator in this building I was not carrying my piping hot food back up the stairs every meal. The beds are comfy and they give plenty of pillows but there's so many noises in the room I could barely sleep. The air conditioner sounds like it's going to break down any minute and the walls are paper thin so I heard my neighbors every move all night. Next time I'll pay the extra $80 to stay across the street at the Best Western. Room is very outdated as well with stained and gross carpet and water stains in the bathroom.

When I reached out to the company, these rooms were somehow checked in with no guests and charged for full stays. You would think they would contact me or let me know there was a no show instead of charging for the full amount without any credit card authorization form. At first, they did not want to refund any of the money. Then they decided to charge me a no show fee for each room (4 rooms), still resulting in a charge of almost $500. You would think since we have been loyal regular customers with them, they would be a little more understanding and work with us. I guess it doesn't matter how much money you spend, they will still try to rip you off. Buyer beware...something is not right here.

However, the Fields of Eden Inn is awesome! I'll admit, I was a bit nervous after my travel companion booked a room and was simply provided with a code for accessing our suite. Additionally, it's a bit of a plain-jane looking building - there's a sign by the road, and based on the appearance of the structure, you'd expect to enter a clean and new, but standard motel room. Before arriving at the suite, I hadn't seen photos. I wasn't too worried - like I said, based on the building's appearance, I knew I could count on a decent room. But the moment we entered, I was shocked by how nice it was! And once I saw how nice it was, I began to think of the booking process and entry code as convenient bonuses to the deal. We stayed in Suite #1 and absolutely loved it. The room came with a kitchen area that was stocked with nearly everything you might need, minus major appliances, such as a stove or oven. There's plenty of dinnerware, drinkware, a microwave, a refrigerator and freezer, and, most importantly, a wine key. The freezer even has trays of ice cubes in it. Suite #1 was equipped with a queen-sized bed and a faux fireplace, which can be adjusted for purposes of ambiance and temperature. There's also a convenient, hand-held remote for adjusting the heat/air conditioning. The room contained a large bathtub with jets, which is positioned such that the occupant can watch television while they soak. My counterpart and I argued about whether the bathtub is big enough for one or two people - we didn't put our opposing theories to the test, but I used the tub alone, and I stand by my claim that there's room for two. On a serious note, this hotel room was stocked with everything the average traveler could want or need, including an abundance of towels, an ironing board and iron, shampoos and soaps, a blow dryer, and - get this - a set of "MyPillows," in case you're as finicky as me and the standard-issue hotel pillows don't do the trick. Considering the quality of the room, it's certainly worth the cost. I'd gladly stay here again! Hand sani at every turn and I didn't see a single unmasked person throughout my stay. I should also note that the hotel was only at a third capacity, so we really didn't see much of anyone other than the staff throughout our one night stay. We felt safe and at home throughout, and this hotel put cleanline at top priority even before the pandemic. Onto more fun stuff! The staff here is top notch. So friendly and helpful and a pleasure to interact with. We brought our dog, Freddy Sue, this time around, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to fellow dog owners looking to take their pup to a dog friendly town. It is a $70 charge which is steep, but was worth it to us in terms of peace of mind, especially with the off peak rate of this hotel on a Saturday to Sunday being $140. The beds are SO comfortable and I had such an awesome night's rest. Of course, the location cannot be beat. In the non-COVID times, we bopped from restaurant to restaurant drinking our way through the town and it was amazing to be able to come right back to the center of town as home base. Even the orange juice was little per-filled sealed cups like it came from a hospital cafeteria. They are remodeling the lobby but they should be doing something with the dated rooms. No charging stations and the couch was old and ratty. We will not be back to this place. UPDATE: I complained on my survey and was contacted by a customer service representative and they gave the company response "sorry for your bad experience we will try hard" which I replied, typical response, I don't believe you even read my additional comments. I said that there was a time when customers were compensated for bad experiences but now it is , we got your money, sorry. About a hour later a got a reply that half my money was being refunded. So at least they are trying so I changed my rating to 2 stars for the effort.
