Lighthouse sound does an awful job. I had family here from out of town and wanted to treat them to a nice dinner on our final night together so we went to Lighthouse sound. We got all dressed up and arrived on time for our reservation. The location is beautiful however the service leaves much to be desired. We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated in a restaurant that was obviously very empty. Once we finally placed our orders the food came after nearly an hour and a half of waiting. During this wait, no one came to check on us to offer water or bread. After our meal, which wasn't memorable, we complained and they didn't charge us at all. We had a party of eight. This shows how much the managers believes the value of their food/service is. We still left a tip for the waitress who had too many tables to wait. I'll never go back. read more

The place is beautiful. You pull up and you feel like your on the set of the TV show 'REVENGE'. The servers quickly got us an outside table where we were able to enjoy the view of ocean city and the gold course. We got some appetizers that were good then we got some sorbet to cleaned out pallet which was delicious. Quick thing : Whatever you do don't get the Parmesan covered potatoes. They are not good and have no cheese it's terrible. I got the stuffed chicken which was an ok plate and would def do it again just wish it was hotter when I got it. Never had anything but a great experience here. Norm is a great waiter. Always professional and attentive. Always greeted by Chef Tracy and given warm cookies!!! Prices are reasonable. My wife and I stopped into the pub for lunch. There were a few people at the bar at mid-day. The bartender doubled as the waitress. We ordered the Reuben and the veggie quesadilla. About 40 minutes later they were served. The Reuben had obviously sat under a heat lamp for quite some time. The top was dry and wrinkling. My wife's quesadilla was filled with frozen veggies and cheese. Her side order never arrived. The view was by far the best part of the lunch. Went for Sunday brunch. To sum this place up, it is a restaurant that sits in a golf clubhouse. Nice golf course, beautiful view of the bay, but the food does not come close to the setting. First, we were one of two tables and it took over 10 minutes to get drinks. The waitress was either new or not up to the job. Lastly, I had eggs Benedict with 1) untoasted muffin, 2) ham instead of Canadian bacon, and 3) eggs that were well done. The hash browns were from frozen. And, the manager delivered our toast long before the rest of the food because the kitchen did not know to prepare it last. My recommendation would be for this place to close, get new everything (including the name so any bad reviews would not affect business) and start over. Two stars for the view and decor. read more

Went there for my birthday dinner. The staff was friendly. They asked me several times about my birthday. I don't know why. They did nothing to make it special. Also, I had the risotto with blackened chicken. The chicken was dry with no flavor. My husband had the steak and au gratin potatoes. The potatoes were burnt. My wife and I have been fans of this restaurant since 2003 when it hosted our daughter's rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. From the initial planning and tasting of menu items to their special considerations for the bride and groom, the event went off splendidly and has been repeatedly mentioned by attendees as the model they have used in considering other locations from New England to the midwest. In recent years we have eaten there occasionally especially to take advantage of the "Two can dine for $69" special. It has always been superb but it has clearly risen another notch with the arrival of their new chef. We ate there in mid-December and again last weekend and plan to go at least once each month from now on. The site is quiet, elegant and offers a magnificent view of Assawoman Bay and Ocean City's skyline. The staff's attention to detail sets a very high bar for other settings. What must however be experienced is the food! From the appetizer to the desert, their multiple course offerings are varied, expertly crafted and delicious. At the risk of having to deal with a crowded dining room, I recommend all to try this site and share our joy at its offerings. read more

Thank you for confirming our reservations. The hostess greeted us and brought us to a table by the windows. Very lovely view. However, the menu you had listed was incorrect. The menu on your site indicated 'soft shell crabs' and 'rock fish'. Neither was listed on their web site or on the daily menu. In talking with the wait staff and hostess, 'soft shell crabs' have not been on their menu for several years. I'd suggest you either up date your web site to match theirs or eliminate the menu item on your web site altogether. The views from the main dining room was very nice and pleasing to the eye. This place is a joke. I came here for the Easter buffet and they had barley anything. There were 9 bins of picked over food. We were prided dinner but, I guess they consider what they gave us dinner. Not even sure why we made a reservation when no one was there and I can see why. read more

Our first visit was 9/8/12 and if we lived nearby we'd return often! They had a special two-can-dine-for-$59.00 on the menu which included a meal complete with a bottle of wine and a HUGE dessert to split (and we still could not finish the bread pudding with ice cream. Achingly good!) 8 oz sirloin was perfection with asparagus the Cadillac of vegetables. Better than average crabcake. Our dinner mate polished off the seared tuna down to the mark on the back of the china! I think you can assume he liked it. The other highlight was the LIVE entertainment, Suzette Prichett. What an unexpected privilege to be in her presence! Her voice was so powerful and versatile yet controlled. She kept the volume at a pleasing level so we could enjoy her performance as well as the food and our companions. Her choice of songs was very suitable to the clientele. Not quit sure why she is in OC area rather than Broadway or Hollywood but they are very lucky to have her! There is one distraction at this fine restaurant: the cookie tray that makes its way to each table towards the end of the meal! And they are everything you'd want in a choc-chip cookie. (7/19/2015) Went to a wedding at the Restaurant at Lighthouse Sound. It's a nice little space, we were fairly well-tended, if with a little attitude and surliness, but really, how many teenagers want to spend their summers waiting tables at a golf course. Some kind of GM in a loud Hawaiian shirt also gave a lot of attitude. Service was efficient though, plated and cleared quickly, stayed pretty much out of our way, well-timed pouring of champagne for the toast. Food was fresh, enjoyed the Salad Station where you could choose your own toppings and dressings (labels for the dressings would've been nice, though). Hot food was piping hot, petite filets were cooked as specified. Was sufficiently seasoned, excessively buttery (thought I'd never say that). Gazebo and grounds made for lovely pictures. Not a bad place to have a wedding if you live on the Eastern Shore or are in the area for a week-long vacation. NOTE: did see at least 2 A/C ducts dripping condensation on to food service areas. read more

The most beautiful, scenic golf course in OC. Also the most expensive. All the golf attendants were first class. What was very noticeable was the lack of attention to detail for a "world Class" club. Garbage was overflowing at the front entrance. Bathrooms were dirty with trash overflowing. We intentionally went early to have lunch at the bar a watch football. What a fiasco it was. Poor Ashley, the bartender, was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She couldn't have been nicer. The kitchen was so slow it was ridiculous. All she could do was continually apologize. She was the only person working the entire room. A women who appeared to be the manager would occasionally come in the help put out fires. Usually comp'ing the irate customer. Then she would disappear into the empty main dining room. Our food was awful. The crab dip was terrible. My father had the Maryland crab soup. It didn't even look like Maryland crab soup. The should be ashamed just for that soup. Soggy French fries. Terrible coleslaw. Crab cake sandwich was mediocre at best. I have eaten hear a handful of times. Always have thought that the food was average. For the price you are paying it should be much better. This should be a world class restaurant to match a top 100 golf course in the country. I would have to blame the management of the club house to allow it to be so sloppy in so many ways. Got to start with the views, they are wonderful. Get a reservation and ask for a window table. I saw some reservations about the food, but honestly, the food was outstanding! I had the pork chop which was excellently prepared. My dining companion had the salmon and enjoyed it along with the sides. Worth saving some room for desert. I had a Roasted Pear Salad which was the best salad I had ever had. We each enjoyed the Rib Eye, which was excellent. Then for dessert we split a piece of Key Lime pie. Oh My, was it good. VERY disappointed. We had an 8:30 reservation for July 4th to have a nice meal and watch fireworks. However, they opened up their lawn to the public to watch fireworks and provided no place for their paying customers to park. When we arrived the only parking was out on the main road leaving us with a 1/4-1/3 mile trek. They gave no thought to their paying customers. We went somewhere else. This is normally a good restaurant with good service but this demonstration of they're complete disregard for their customers has discouraged us from going back. read more

Beautiful setting and views but that is where the good ends. We stopped in for brunch and our food once served, was cold, old, and burnt; from eggs to potatoes. I mentioned one of the major issues to the server; which she acknowledged and obviously knew before she even served us; however, she made no attempt to remedy anything. Price point is on the mark but there are many other options in the area that are so much better and still have lovely views. Last note....they SERIOUSLY need a better water filtration system. Being so close to the wet lands and river they like every other place have to deal with sulfur smell/taste in the water. My advice...If you can't get a better filtration system then serve bottles water to your guests!! read more

There were 3 of us dining. The crab cakes with Old Bay creamed corn were delicious; the salmon was very good. However, the chicken picatta was extremely salty. I was intrigued that prosciutto was used, but it was cubed, not sliced. It added to the extreme saltiness of the dish. The au Gratin potatoes were burned on the bottom. We had the opportunity to dine at Lighthouse Sound Restaurant earlier this week and wanted to share our thoughts about the experience. Michelle gave us great service in the lounge; she was attentive and outgoing. Olya made sure we were pleased with our seating in the restaurant and Stephen, our waiter, was familiar with the menu, friendly and helpful. Chef Tracy......well, what can we say...the Crab Bruschetta was beyond a "traditional" bruschetta (lots of lump crab meat).....the sorbet was a nice touch.....the blackened tuna was delicious and served with just the right sauce......and the Lighthouse Scallops were tender and scrumptious! This classy restaurant is filled with atmosphere and has the best view of Ocean City's skyline. Our kudos to General Manager Darren McDonald and his staff for making this evening such a wonderful experience. We visited on a weekday evening after Labor Day and the restaurant was not crowded. The weather was clear and the view from our table was a panorama of the bay and Ocean City skyline. Our food was quite good but not spectacular and it was served in a timely manner with courtesy and attention. We did not order appetizers, wine or dessert and the price for our dinners was quite reasonable. Also, we were given (as in free) large chocolate-chip cookies which were excellent. It proved to be a very nice evening and the best restaurant experience we had in our week near Ocean Pines. I would recommend this restaurant for a low-key relaxing dinner in a beautiful environment. We just celebrated our anniversary here and it was phenomenal. We were iffy on coming in because of the weather and some previous reviews mentioned the service was lacking, but our service was phenomenal (big shout out to our waiter Andrew). The food was incredible - I had the lobster pasta, which they definitely didn't skimp on the portion of lobster, and my wife had the chicken picatta which was also delicious and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant was beautiful, romantic, and quiet which was great because they don't cram too many tables into one room. You obviously can't beat the view either. We will DEFINITELY be returning soon and will be requesting Andrew for our future meals. read more

We went here for the first time over the weekend while visiting OC. The view was magnificent and the food was delicious. We ordered the calamari, crab cakes, and NY strip. Everything came out perfect including the creme brûlée and cheesecake! I was pleasantly surprised by the complementary raspberry sorbet served between dishes and cookies at the end of an already amazing meal. The host and server were very friendly. It was such a great experience and we were impressed with the quality of the food and service we received despite being from out of town and using a restaurant.com certificate.
