I was able to meet up with Jason (owner) at the Beach Life Festival down the street and he gave me complimentary bowls for this review ! Finally killed my curiosity, and ventured into Lil' Vegerie. I am a carnivore by trait, but am open for "All" kinds of cuisine. I went BIG and had a 7 layer bowl. Very filling, very tasty, I enjoyed the flavor profile. I am a fan of their lentil chile; I had that when Jason the owner entered a Chili Cookoff function recently. I enjoyed that more than the ones with meat. Overall the staff was knowledgeable, and friendly. The restaurant is well kept which is a plus for any establishment that serves food. Would I return? I believe I will, because there were other items on the menu that caught my interest to try. I know nothing about the Vegan/Vegetarian universe other than the common knowledge. But as a person that is a foodie, I can say that this place has something. And it is good. I give this place a "Four Star" rating because nothing is perfect. I have no complaints. Enjoy! read more

My friend and I discovered this gem yesterday, and I wish I lived closer because I would eat here often! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond to take care of us! We enjoyed our meal in the car since there's no seating inside but the nice guy working there made sure we had everything we needed, offering samples of the freshly made juices and bringing our food directly to the car. As a special treat, we were given a complimentary dessert to try. Everything about our experience was exceptional! Cute little set up they have here. It's a small take out place that packs a big healthy punch. Had the carne asada mushroom bowl and it was very flavorful. There isn't any seating inside but there are tables and chairs right outside. This place far exceeded my expectations. My daughter and I were driving by and she out of nowhere asked if I thought there was hummus. Knowing it's a vegetarian place, I assumed there was. We've driven passed this place dozens of times but we're meat eaters this place doesn't pop out to us as a must stop. That Changed today. The menu was more extensive than I anticipated. The service was great. The place is really small, not somewhere that can seat a lot but you won't be disappointed by the flavorful food. My daughter had the chickpea tuna toast and was so happy with it. I had a toast with hummus, cucumber and olives. It was super tasty. We will be regular customers now. Oh my goodness, the lil' Vegerie is truly my favorite restaurant! I go there weekly and have enjoyed everything I've tried. Right now I crave the Harvest and BBQ Jackfruit bowls, but on sunny days, it is always the chickpea salad. And their lentil chili is addictive! So too the avocado toast. Gustavo behind the counter always greets me by name. He greets and helps customers as well as makes the food sometimes. He is so kind and professional to all of us. I love sitting in the little butterfly garden outside where you can enjoy your meal or wait for takeout. There is greenery everywhere. I mean, you can tell the owners truly love plants. I do too, so I love admiring their decor. I'm so glad we have the lil' Vegerie in our neighborhood! But I would travel from LA just to satisfy my cravings. Yes indeed, this little place is excellent! Who knew in the middle of a small strip mall that we would find this tiny gem of a restaurant with counter ordering. As we sat outside it wasn't more than 10 min later that our food arrived. The Philly Cheesesteak bowl that my hubby ordered looked delicious. Mushrooms, tomatoes, red peppers, vegan cheese, cabbage, onions and potatoes all came together in a lovely presentation. Indeed, it was tasty. I chose the BBQ Jackfruit bowl with kale, broccoli, carrots, potatoes and of course jackfruit. The veggies were seasoned perfectly with a little kick to the BBQ sauce. The ginger lemonade was refreshing with turmeric and black pepper. Parking is easy in the lot out front. read more

WOW!! I am not vegan but I try to eat primarily plant based. When I find a restaurant that is vegan and doesn't use fake meats, I gotta try it!! Was in the area to visit the local botanical garden ( a must see) and found this little gem. Service was absolutely amazing, super friendly and accommodating. The shop itself is very small, not tables indoor but there were two outdoor tables. Because it was kinda chilly outside we were provided with blankets and hot tea! Now for the best part, the food is AMAZING!!! I am the carne asada mushroom bowl and the potato soup. The carne asada bowl was so flavorful. The Mexican rice was cooked perfectly. The potato soup was also perfection. My friends had the ahi beet and bbq jackfruit I tried both and they were outstanding. Ignoring that it looks and tastes nothing like a cheesesteak I've ever seen or tasted...it was good. Very good, on the spicy side but a nice mix which featured portobello mushrooms, the standard peppers, onions, tomatoes, and cheese with potato hash. Third time here and we live in Orange County. Good thing my sister lives nearby. Such friendly people working here. The food is fantastic. We loved the lentil chili. So flavorful. I had the pumpkin curry again. So delicious. My husband had a cauliflower salad with chickpeas and quinoa. For later we brought home the 7-layer bowl which is my husband's favorite. We also took home the yummy tuna salad and another lentil chili. We took home a mini chocolate grenache courtesy of the restaurant. The food here is made here with fresh real ingredients. Just got done eating my food and couldn't get here quick enough to write a 5 star view. What a blessing to have not only whole plant based food but ALSO gluten free?!! And it was sooooooo delicious. I had the carrot lox toast that was perfectly tender and smoked, the cream cheese was some of the best plant based I've had and loved the gf buckwheat toast points. I also had the pumpkin curry and the flavor profile is better than you can ever imagine. It is spicy which i love. Loaded with veggies and wild rice. Lastly, I ordered the goddess bowl with beetroot hummus, carrots, butternut squash, cauliflower, quinoa, kale, pumpkin seeds and a maple tahini and as soon as i ate it I felt the love.
