Everything was good. My mom and I went today, for the first time...we each got a build your own burger... mostly because I always like to taste the actual patty before diving into the specialties. So, I got a classic burger with bacon, American cheese, grilled onions and pickles...all which were a dollar extra. Mom got a bacon burger with pepper jack, we shared a basket of hand-cut fries, onion rings and split a chocolate shake. The guy was very nice, he brought out our shakes in separate cups, and brought our food to us, even though we had a little pager. The fries are amazing, the onion rings are good, but the burger had both raw onions and the grilled onions that I requested...that could have been my fault but we both had to scrape those off. I guess when we built our own burgers, we assumed that what we ordered would be all that was in it. After all of that, I we finally dug in and it was good...a little salty for my taste and again, too many spices in the patty, but my mom really enjoyed it...that being said, my mom over spices her burgers too. I've been eyeing the fig and the pig burger for months now and finally got a chance to try it after a really rough day. My friend and I came here after a memorial because we hadn't eaten all day and knew it would be best to consume something before the rest of the evening. Didn't really know what to expect with the burger, it sounds really good and I wasn't trying to hype myself up too much but it was a pretty tasty burger. Was not greasy as I was expecting and flavors were all there without being too overwhelming or salty. I didn't get any fries because i had read they weren't crispy fries but i did steal some of my friends and they're not too bad. The girls working were really nice and service was fairly quick for how busy they were. Solid 3.5 stars.. I've been eyeing this place since it first opened, but never ventured to come here because I always end up at zippy's (2 streets over) when I'm craving a burger. I caved in today and needed to try it for once! For starters, they let me phone in my order prior to coming! (Thank you for that!) I literally work 2 minutes away and sometimes don't want to order then wait for another 10 minutes which cuts into my lunch time. The guy on the phone - super nice! Didn't hesitate when I asked and trusted me enough that I wouldn't bail. (Damn you zippy's, you gave me trouble before about phone orders, that you're "too busy" and having to pay up front first.. I won't forget that you a-hole) Anyway, super impressed with the inside. Spacious and plenty of tables, also has a pizza joint connected and then whenever beer star is open, can bring food & beer into each other's establishment (how cool is that?!). Glad we ordered ahead because there was a few people in front of us when we got there. Food came right out as we were paying, yay! I opted for the 'smoked out' burger and added my egg (of course). The burger was bigger than I expected, pretty good but it did not leave me in a food coma like I was hoping. (Usually occurs when the food hits the spot lmao). I love little woody's, but their prices, ooh wee! We left paying $40 for two burgers, onion rings and shakes. It's not THAT good. For that reason, I don't eat hear often. If you feel you must try the hype, I do recommend trying at least once, but you can find tastiest food for less. You are left with a feeling of "I have to finish this", shoving every piece of food down and slurping up the thick shake to avoid throwing any of the $40 burger meal away. read more

Is Li'l Woody's considered a Seattle/PNW staple/icon? I know they have a few establishments around the city, and I initially went to their Ballard location a couple of years ago. Not having been to one since, I was pleasantly surprised when they popped up in White Center in my beloved Beer Star. I really love that they are connected to the tap house. Its convenient to walk a few feet, order, and go back to your brew. They give you those pager squares, so you don't have to sit around and wait for your order. I had a pager pager in the late 90's, and tragically only a few people would hit me up cause I was kind a loser. Well, not much has changed, but why delve into my life's shortcomings...Jesus, can I get a double IPA over here Beer Star? I've eaten here about a half dozen times, and its always been excellent. Their burgers are always cooked well (not well done), buns chewy (good texture), and they use quality ingredients. They also have sandwiches, various fries, and onion rings. They have an order of fries where they give you a shake as a dipping sauce. I was little leery the first time I ordered it, but its the old sweet, and savory for the win. They're literally called, "crack," and just like Pookie in New Jack City you too might be fiendin' after a few hits. I love the burgers here, and being in the same building as my favorite tap house is a big plus. Welcome to White Center Lil Woody's! What a gem‼ Beat French fries and burger to share with friends and/or family of all ages

We ordered while we were at Beer Star. It took less than 15 mins for it to be ready. I got the pickled fig blue cheese bacon burger and added pickled jalapeños. It was pretty tasty but I was craving more of a blue cheese flavor. My husband was excited to see a NM Green Chile burger on the menu. But as we read more - we realized it wasn't 100% true for us New Mexicans. Queso doesn't belong on a NM Green Chile burger. Instead, we did a "build your own" and made a true New Mexican Green Chile burger - Cheddar or American cheese, whole Hatch Green Chile (we prefer it medium spice level :), mayo, lettuce and tomato - sliced onion optional. We ordered a basket of fries with the chipotle mayo (with a hint of lemon) and the fry sauce. Both sauces were really good. It could be because our food was bagged up - but I prefer my fries a little more crispy - but they were fresh, salted well, and a lot. We will give it another try when we are in the area. Finally hopped on the hype train and tried this new burger joint. Had a little bit of difficulty finding the place since it's wedged between two other new restaurants. Parking is also very limited throughout so keep that in mind. I came here with my brother and we ordered at the counter. He got the Lil Woody and I got the Smoked Out burger with a side order of fries. From the start, we felt very rushed. There was no one behind us and it wasn't busy, so I was confused as to why the employee felt the need to give us answers like "so do you want this or that" in an unwelcoming tone. It was very off-putting. The food was decent. Buns were soft and patties were juicy. Nothing out of the ordinary for me. The fries were average. At $10-12 per burger with some added toppings, you'd think they throw in fries with that. Nope. You have to order that separately. Best crack ever!!!! Crack is in French fries and Full Tilt ice cream to DIP your fries in... it's amazing you need to try it. Get two orders. Their fries are like dicks fries, but better! Less greasy, and they serve a lot... who doesn't like a lot of fries? They have an entrance to the bar next door, so that's a win-win situation. Burgers, fries, shakes AND BEER?! Li'l Woody's is the new kid on the block in White Center. It has opened up right next to, and connecting to, Beer Star. Li'l Woody's will soon share its space with Chinese Takeout which has yet to open. Seattleites may need to plug their ears for a second: I deem that these burgers are better than the infamous Dick's and Zippy's. Sorry--not sorry. At least Li'l Woody's is a small Seattle chain with locations in Capitol Hill, Ballard and South Lake, and their fourth now in White Center. Li'l Woody's allows substitutions (heck, you can make your own creation) and are not paper thin patties. With this said, they run $8.00 plus, but are made of grass-fed beef from Painted Hills. They have a Burger of the Week special that is bound to be unique and stretch your boundaries a bit. I absolutely loved my Big Woody (haha) that had all the normal works including Painted Hills bacon, Tilamook cheddar cheese, diced onion, pickles and tomatoes. My partner ordered the New Mexican burger which was stellar with green chiles and a tasty, creamy homemade queso. We shared an order of homemade onion rings that tasted beer-battered and yummy. If you're not into burgers, they also offer a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, black bean veggie burger, salmon burger and turkey burger. There's something for everyone! If you really want to splurge, you can make a root beer float with any of their root beers or sarsaparillas in the fridge. They add in Full Tilt ice cream to finish it off. I ordered takeout takeout spending $60 on dinner. 5 minutes down the road, realized there were no onion rings in the bag. Headed back to get my rings, given a buzzer to wait. Waited 10 mins, still no onion rings. Meanwhile, 2 other orders pass with onion rings on their trays. While I waited for them to fix the error my families food got cold and soggy. I checked in after the 2nd onion ring order passed and was offered a refund. Really terrible way to make something right. Didn't wait for a refund (waste of additional time), just left. In retrospect should have brought the entire order back in for a refund. Kids normally love their burgers and wouldn't eat their burger (even warmed up). Our experience here was a disappointment. The black bean veggie burger is more like a mushy black bean spread that oozed out of the bun on the first bite. It was also pretty flavorless. Had a lil' woody today for the hamburger and fries that I ate for lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised. First by the staff who welcomed me and provided a brief but cogent and concise tour of their menu, to which I was left thinking this was a place I would take my wife and kids in the future. Great burger and bun. Their onion and ketchup ensemble was just the right balance of acidic and sweet, paired melted cheddar and a side of salty fries that were lopped into the basket, skinny and golden brown, still steamy and hot, cooked to the brink of Americana perfection. The Hi-Fi washed the seating area with hip-hop which echoed throughout the lovely old school arched wood beams, exposed as if an ode to the days before steel beams came into vogue, raw and rough hewn, like the fries sticking up from my basket. When we returned, the girl at the counter blamed us for her mistake by claiming that we ordered the chicken sandwich. She then said, well, we can make the fries but I will have to charge you. Its all kid friendly and even if YOU aren't kid friendly, there is room to avoid tripping over them. If you don't like juice running down your elbow this is not the burger for you! It was so much yummy, drippy goodness! The patties are real hand made. The fries are old style with some skins on them. They offer a few different dipping sauces, as well as malt beverages. I MEAN MALT VINEGAR! Lol you get it though right? I live in West Seattle on the south end so this will be my regular spot for burgers fo so! The prices are right and you're leaving feeling stuffed! How have I not tried this place sooner. I have always heard good things, but because of places like kidd and Red Mill, have been reluctant to try more local chains. Lil woodys is amazing though. So I want to start by saying I came here twice in one day. The difference in service is night and day. I came here with my mom right when they opened and the guy manning the front was interesting and when I had ordered a veggie burger to go, his response was "that would be hard to wrap". I'm the paying customer, I'm ordering this to do and do not want it to get soggy when I bring it to my brother. I figured they could wrap the veggies in foil or whatever, the burger and bun together and I can just skip the sauces (but they are able to put mayo on the side). His way about it was off putting. Also, our sandwich was warm, not hot, and a bit skimpy compared to my experience around 6pm later that day. I ordered the same sandwich and this time it there was a generous helping! I was introduced to this place for the first time about a month ago. I order the Trotter every time I go. This place is by far my favorite burger joint in the area. The burgers are consistently juicy and flavorful. I will say though I've only ever gotten take out so I can't speak to what a dining experience is like. The staff are friendly! I'm not usually a negative reviewer. If I don't like something, I just don't go there again. With COVID happening, I try to be even more patient and understanding with businesses trying to adjust. Also, I'm generally not too fussy about food - if I don't hate it, it's usually fine. My fiancee is fussy about food, though. Burgers have been a particular challenge (especially being vegetarian, which limits our options). We both miss living closer to Red Mill, whose burgers we loved dearly, so we decided to give Lil' Woody's in White Center a try. Big, gooey, sticky, stale mistake. The bun of my burger was soggy and damp and the burger overall seemed squished. I didn't hate it, but I couldn't even give it my half-hearted "it was fine". It was very disappointing. The fries were nearly inedible - some stale, some soggy, none tasting less than a day old. But all of that would have just been "guess we're not going there again". My fiancee's burger was what moved me to post here. Her burger was soaked. Pieces of the bun came off and stuck to her hand. Globs of goo fell out uncontrollably. The cashier girl was not fun at all about a place that literally has named their sandwich a "Morning Woody" and has a side of "Crack"- she seemed to hate every moment of my order. What I got for $40 were 2 soggy chicken sandwiches, half-cooked limp cold fries that I had to FINISH cooking when I got them home, and a $6 milkshake that was only filled about halfway up the cup. I stopped by on Tuesday, 6/5/18, around noon. The place was pretty empty. Lovely woman working the register with the best smile. Very friendly. Place was clean and bright. I ordered the Smoked Out burger. It's 1/3 lb Painted Hills grass fed beef burger, Tillamook smoked cheddar, chipotle mayonnaise, sliced raw onion and tomato slices. I kind of balked at $8.50 for a burger but the first bite said it was worth every penny! OMG. I haven't had a burger that good in a long time. I made the mistake of ordering the fries with queso for $6 not realizing it could feed 4 people. I threw away a lot. That's just too many fries for one person. Next time I'll try the onion rings that looked delicious. Finally, I had the strawberry shake made with Full Tilt brand ice cream for $6. Again, I balked at the price but was willing to try because of the Full Tilt reputation. Worth every cent. Unfortunately, I didn't see they had a salted caramel flavor until it was too late. I'll get that next time. This is located on 16 ave sw just south of Roxbury. As you travel W/B on Roxbury you will see the street sign only for Delridge Way. It's the same street at 16 sw. The name changes to Delridge there at the Seattle City limit. Take that left! I hate the back-in angled parking but fortunately several spots were open so I managed to accomplish it without hitting any cars. It's located right across the street from the infamous Taradise Café. I'd never go here at night but for an afternoon out it was deluxe. I'll be back!!! The only thing to be dubious about is the rating from the county Health Department. Their rating is only "Good", not "excellent." I hope they can bring that grade up for their next inspection. I like this Li'l Woody's. The location is in a large building with several other places to eat. It's spacious and there are lots of windows, so it's bright and airy. You order at the counter and they've brought the food out to the seating area the times I have been there. They have a selection of burgers and they do rotating specialty burgers pretty frequently. They will also let you customize your own burger. The last time I went, I was hoping for a burger of the week but went on the wrong week. They tried to make me what I wanted with the ingredients they had on hand. It turned out pretty tasty and I appreciated the effort! The queso fries are like a gooey, cheesey, artery clogging heaven. Hard not to like a place that cooks French fries from fresh potatoes; they have the stringy type that's tasty but could be just tad more crispy. The burgers have great organic beef and have a great taste and are on the huge size for the 1/3 pound version I got. Especially filling portion when you're in the adjacent Beer Star drinking beer. But, hey it's so great you can drink beer, walk about 20 paces and order a burger and fries. They give you the vibrating coaster that lights up to let you know your order is ready; so you just walk over and it's there for the taking. Decently priced and the staff is super nice. You order on the counter like you would at any fast food restaurant. I forgot to get bacon both times, but my friend always orders the Fig and Pig and gives me a piece of his bacon. The one contains pickled figs and bleu cheese. I like both burgers. The onion rings from the Pendleton gives the burger a crunch to your bite, and the bbq sauce adds some sweet flavor to it. We also order a basket of fries, and trust me you get your money's worth because they give you A LOT! It's worth getting the basket than the side if you're going to share with others. The fries aren't greasy and have a nice little crisp to it, similar to Dick's fries. We like taking our food to Beer Star, but unfortunately, ​you can't bring any alcoholic drinks in there since they are two separate businesses, even if you're planning to get a drink from Beer Star anyways. I want to try their shakes and especially The Crack, which is a side of fries and some Full Tilt ice cream shake to dip it in. In what would end up as a $76 Li'l Woody, I sit here fully satisfied and with no regrets. To explain, I was en route to the airport with 45 minutes to spare, less a stop for gas. I knew venturing 15 minutes off of my route for a burger stop was going to be tough, but I've never been one afraid to take a chance. The result, though predictable, left me headed back to the airport in what probably looked reminiscent of something out of a Dukes of Hazzard car chase scene. Honestly the only thing missing was the climatic Waylon Jennings narration, a CB radio and Luke sitting shotgun. It took skipping the gas refill, a power slide off the ramp into the rental car return garage and some running through the airport, but damned if I didn't have the burger and make my flight too. Add a $98 fuel service fee to the burger price, less the $30 I would've spent on gas had I been able to stop and that's the story of the $76 burger. Though there were many tempting choices of burgers and sides, being my first time I went with the stock Li'l Woody and a side of fries. Both were awesome. The 1/4 Painted Hills grass-fed beef burger was completely on money. Between the perfect sear on the outside and the juicy inside, the patty was chalked full of flavor. I'm usually an American cheese (processed...I know) kind of guy, but the stock Tillamook cheddar is a big contributor. The Woody includes chopped onions, an option I don't often see, but really appreciate. The burger also includes the ever important pickle. This was my first time seeing the diced version, but really it makes perfect sense as it provides better coverage. Condiments on the stock option include ketchup and mayo. Though I'm normally more of a mustard guy, the ketchup and mayo combo really do this burger right. The bun, while being petty typical version, was fresh, fluffy and had just the right amount of toast. As with any good burger, this baby was a dripper, between the juices and toppings, the fries below felt the love. As for the fries, my Yelp pre-read had me a little nervous as there were several mentions of soggy. This was not my experience. My side of skin on, thin-cut fries were fried to a moderate crisp, golden brown finish and lacked nothing to be desired. I kept it to ketchup this time, but was impressed and intrigued by the dipping sauce options. Despite being titled as "Li'l", the 1/4 burger in conjunction with a very generous side serving of fries was very filling.
