Service is always prompt and friendly. There's a big selection from burgers to chicken tenders, fries and kids meal. I usually get the burger, chicken tenders, fries and milk shakes. Skip the mac and cheese balls. Unfortunately, there's no place to sit so it's pretty much a drive through. Honestly, this place is much better than Dick's. Especially the fries that are crispier. This place is truly a take out, eat in your car sort of place. No ambiance to speak of. The "okay" health sign gave me a bit of pause but looking up details it seems like they have straightened up over the past few years. Ordering happens from a screen next to the counter and it's pretty straightforward. They'll call your name and number from a speaker when the order is ready - it generally doesn't take too long. This time around I ordered a cowboy burger - i was happy with how thick the onion rings were and the patty was good, although the bacon could have been cooked a bit more. "Cheap" eats and late night openings. I have been to this place a few times in the past years and I believe they have change ownership. The place is a lot cleaner now and pretty nice that it is open 24 hours. You order the food at the window or at the touchscreens that are set out in the front. After helping my son move in to his new apt in Seattle, we were looking for a quick bite. Boss Drive-in popped up on the radar. Close. Inexpensive. And unpretentious. Upon arriving, we agreed they were, in fact, unpretentious. The lot and building are basic, they they keep everything clean and the building paint job is nice. Ordering took place at one of three kiosks (they also have a window for the less tech savvy lot). They have a lot more than their regional "drive-in" competition. Everything from basic to complex burgers. Chicken options. Various sides. Drinks and shakes. We opted for some basic burgers to compare (and fill that current empty void). The food is made to order and came out in under 5 minutes. Pretty darn good, though I would have liked just a little (more?) salt and pepper on the burger. The menu is pretty straightforward and I settled on a Cowboy Burger (minus mayo, add Boss Sauce) and fries with Boss Sauce for dipping. I was originally quoted 20 minutes for pick up, but I arrived early and wandered over to the window to find my order was ready already. Neither of the two staff members were really interested in conversation; to say there was a conversation is a stretch. When I got home, I found my food was still satisfyingly warm and fresh. The fries had the right amount of crunch, as did the bacon. The bun was fresh and the burger well seasoned. Portion sizes were ample for the price and the Boss Sauce had a delightful kick that really tied everything together nicely. I can see that undersized parking might be a bit challenging during peak business hours. The burger was good and arrived very hot, which may be a better testament to the speed of my DoorDash driver or the proximity of the restaurant. The fried Oreos were also hot. This time it was as good as the first,...and the only reason I just can't give it 5 stars is the fact that the french fries were lukewarm. The person at the window was extremely friendly, and let me know they would call my number when the order was ready. I ordered the Dub-C, which included 2 fresh beef patties, 2 slices of American cheese, pickles, lettuce, onions, Boss sauce. The Boss sauce is incredibly good. It seemed to have some mild heat. The bun was soft and warm. It really was the perfect burger. The already mentioned fries were crinkle cut, which are my favorite. I asked for a side of tartar sauce for the fries, and it was excellent as it featured a nice dill flavor. Going on a cruise, just got off my flight and was very hungry. So I checked on yelp for some spots to eat and this popped up first. Upon arrival they definitely had the right music playing. My order was the chicken sriracha sandwich with bacon, with a side of onion rings. Everything is a la carte which is still not bad because the prices are pretty reasonable. My cousins all wanted burgers and fries. I ended up sharing my onion rings because there were alot in my bag. When I tell you my family was silent the whole time while eating. I was craving a burger but I hadn't been here since 2015 so I decided to see if they'd resolved the cluster*** that used to pass for service. The food was still mediocre at best - flaccid, soggy fries with sauce That packed more of a 'gentle nudge' than a 'kick'of spice. They don't seem to have a burger that comes with tomato and no option to add so I guess they just don't offer tomato, which for me is essential for a good burger. I got a dub C. It was ok. I ordered online which required me to choose a temperature (doneness) I may as well have not selected anything because it came out well done (I ordered med rare) and I will assume all burgers come out well done for some reason . They were on point with pickles tho. Everything else was unremarkable. I arrived right when the app said my food would be ready (roughly ten minutes after placing my order online) I had to wait another five more minutes which wasn't terrible. However they need to ask the creepy dudes on their phones who stand right by the window whose orders aren't nearly ready to move out the way because it's uncomfortable to get to the window with them standing there. The workers themselves were friendly though. They serve soft serve, not ice cream. Don't expect hand-dipped ice cream. They don't do it. They're still playing the same terrible music (thankfully not as loudly as before). I was grateful I could escape it in my car. I think if you don't come here with high expectations you'll be fine. I can see this place from my house which I always find funny but there's always people here so I mean it cannnt be that bad. Extremely reasonable prices and decent food! I decided to order delivery and came across Boss Drive In. The first thing that stood out to me was the fried Oreos! As a Texan, I'm quite obsessed with basically anything fried, and fried Oreos especially are my true weakness. I ended up ordering those and a tub of fries with the Boss home style sauce. To my delight, the burger was juicy and saucy without being greasy. Also, they're very generous with the pickles and I LOVE pickles. The sauce is similar to thousand island but with a subtle spiciness to it. I also very much enjoyed the corn dog bites dipped in cheese sauce. The fries were not as crispy as I prefer, but a few minutes in the air fryer made them better. Next time, I'm skipping the fries. That said, when I got my order, the fries were spilling over, so I just considered my dollar a welcome donation. The burger was good, better than any fast-food burger, yes, even Dicks, that said, the burger was a bit dry. The description advised the burger had Boss Sauce, but mine didn't. Fries come with a sauce, no one asked me about sauce, so I asked for Boss sauce when I got my order. Boss sauce was extremely tasty, but it was thin, when I dipped my fries, it dripped all over the place. Dipping sauce shouldn't drip it should be thick enough to hold its bubble. Everyone here was nice, but not the most competent people. Had I not been overcharged, and my burger not been dry, this would have been 4 stars easy. I have no idea who owns this place, but if they had better management to increase consistency and ensure top shelf service, this would not only be a hot spot, it would have multiple locations. As always the food is great, prepared to order and claims never frozen meat. Produce is fresh as well with a nice crunch from the sweet pickles and lettuce. They are quick and friendly, although always check your order before you leave. Ambiance is nice, with music playing, and as you can see in the photo, they have blue awnings they can roll out when it's raining. You can eat in your car or take it home, there isn't really seating. There are some cement blocks about three feet high that separate the parking and ordering windows that people sit and lean on, but you'd probably not want to eat there. How does an order take longer than it should but is also served cold? Boss has figured it out! They have chosen to accept online orders but then don't staff accordingly. I saw one human working and he was clearly overwhelmed. My walk-up order sat there getting cold while the employee was busy assembling orders for Grubhub, DoorDash, etc. Was he also cooking everything? They have recently installed a kiosk where you place your own order (no human at the register like old times) and then it asks for a tip. To whom? I didn't interact with a single person. Even the delivery drivers were frustrated that they couldn't get anyone's attention. I asked for the receipt that I instructed the kiosk to print out (seeing something about a hidden surcharge in other reviews), but all I was given was the ticket that printed up on the kitchen line. At least I could confirm the order time. Yep, way too long. And it was cold! I hope the owner sees this: Do better, please. This neighborhood and community deserve it. Have more people working that also understand and enjoy customer service.
