    Mushroom Kyoto Melt Burger
    Mitchell S.

Randomly pulled in from the freeway case it was right off the road, and so glad we did! Kyoto Melt with curry fries was absolutely delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly, fries had lots of flavor. My only wish is that the bun was a little more toasted to prevent falling apart from all the delicious juice and sauces.

Yes big, yes crispy, no portobello ‍ please ... I loved the crunchy hotdog. Everything was crunchy, which is really easy when you deep fry :)

Wow! I have not visited this location in ages, what a surprise to see the expansion, the place is huge (compared to the old one). I really liked the big touch screens for ordering the food, very easy to use, lots of options and customization possibilities and less hassle. Great ordering experience! I got my usual Ninja Deluxe Burger with pork and no onions. It was as delicious and amazing as I remembered, if not more. I had visitors from abroad, and they could not stop raving about their Katsu burgers. We also got sea salt fries with wasabi mayo and they were exceptional. Service was fast. Highly recommended!

Picture is Ninja Deluxe add pepper Jack cheese with regular salt fries and spicy Mayo side. Food was so good!! Walked in and you order on big screen, staff was very friendly and explained everything, food came 10 minutes later and was SO GOOD. Fresh ingredients and not too saucy.

Over a year since my first review and still fantastic. In this day and age, as businesses, sadly, come and go -- all too often retro trendy spots that have been around for a long time - then it's something to say that the quality of the experience at a restaurant is still 5 stars. Got the katsu tofu burger with an egg added (recommend - add the egg, makes everything come together) and the 12-spice fries. My family member who was craving a burger got the chicken katsu and added pineapple and ginger. Yum. Add to this friendly service (they have added order kiosks since I last came - I'm fine with that!). I loved seeing the range of customers who come in here on a weekday. Folks that work nearby in hands-on labor jobs. Folks who live or work farther afield yet still stop by for a good sandwich and a memorable meal. Highly recommend.

I've been coming here for years and the food is always consistent. There's almost always a wait here. The parking lot is pretty small too. Everyone is super friendly here and the place is pretty clean too. The burgers are massive so be prepared to be stuffed! It can be a little pricey here!

Looks good, but was dry and kind of hard - overcooked?

I'm surprised and disappointed. I ordered the Ohayou Gozaimasu burger with a side of their 12 pepper seasoned fries and a strawberry milkshake. The burger was a major disappointment; a dry, fairly bland katsu beef patty with an overcooked egg and mediocre bacon. The sandwich as a whole came across as dry despite the coleslaw being quite moist. The fries were over cooked and dry, and the seasoning wasn't particularly impressive. They're just basic shoestring fries - nothing special even if they weren't over cooked. The milkshake was the highlight of the meal, with good flavor and texture, and a sprinkle of graham cracker cookie on top that makes a nice finish to the drink. The restaurant's ambiance was nice - well laid out with attractive furnishings and reasonably clean. The table does not have additional condiments or seasoning, so be sure to ask for whatever you need when you order/pickup. The ordering experience was impersonal - placing your order on a giant touch-screen monitor. I had to poke around for a while to learn what everything was, as their big display menu boards weren't working. When you check out, the payment kiosk suggests tip amounts ranging from 15% to 25%. Note that you order yourself, pickup the order from the counter when the call your number, and bus your own table when you finish. Maybe I'm old school at my ripe old age of 41, but I always understood tipping to be for some sort of personal service - server, concierge, etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Perfectly perfect sandwich. Nice employees. Clean restaurant and bathroom. Parking sucks but the food is worth it.

Had to stop eating my meal after a few bites to leave a review. This is possibly the best burger I've ever had. We were driving home from Seattle and looking for a place to grab a quick bite; didn't expect to stumble upon this gem. We had the curry fries, nori fries, the Godzilla, and the ninja. Every taste is a perfect and balanced combo. Nice selection of sauce choices, each better than the next! If you're in the area I highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

Amazing HUGE Burgers! You can order for yourself on a big screen, in house, with many different options to choose from. Or you can order from an employee. They even have a free drink offer for First Responders! We ordered the Ninja Chicken Burger and it was ginormous. I had to figure out how to eat it and get a little of everything in one bite. So many toppings! I couldn't even finish it! But I was sure excited to eat the rest later. Extremely crispy chicken patty. And the slaw on top was a great addition when I was kinda uncertain about it at first. 10/10 The coleslaw was also great! 7.5/10. Better coleslaw than most BbQ places. The curry seasoned fries were ok! Definitely had a curry taste but it was kinda overpowering. Probably should have opted for just plain salted fries because I was excited to try the honey mustard. (Which I never actually tried because I was too full from my burger and two curry fries taste test.) Godzilla attack burger was also phenomenal. My brother said it went down nicely with a tasty vanilla shake. He's eaten here before many times so he must love the burgers. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

The restaurant itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not asking too much. I believe the owner said he was trying to revamp the place. I hope that the area comes alive in the future years, that should help. Here's the issue though, this is the slowest spot ever. I've waited 30 minutes for fries - FRIES. I don't mind waiting for food, but it should remain reasonable. There were only two or three people working, and one man did tell us this, but I need to be honest - this was on Super Bowl Sunday. No one was able to get anyone a beer from the tap for 40 minutes, the food took forever and it appeared that online orders were being prioritized (which makes sense, you make as you get orders coming in, but that puts your in person customers in an odd and sometimes frustrating position). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have minded as much if I just had some fries to snack on. I didn't mind as much this one time because I was just happy to find a place to watch the Super Bowl Half Time show, but other days, it's a little hard to look past. I wish this business the best, I live too close to not hope for its improvement! Looking forward to updating my review. At the end of the day, if you're hungry, it's late, this is your spot.

He said, "No, you got the sandwich." I said, "Okay... so did you make the sandwich I ordered or not?" He said yes. I open it up and it's literally two chicken fingers, fries, and honey mustard. No Philly cheesesteak. So I asked, "If you didn't have Philly cheesesteak, why didn't you tell me that when I ordered it?" He said, "I don't know, I can put it on the side if you'd like." I said, "I thought you didn't have any Philly cheesesteak?" He walked away, came back with a side of Philly cheesesteak, and told me to put it on the sandwich myself. For $19, I shouldn't have to assemble my own sandwich -- especially after being told you didn't even have the main ingredient. Just be upfront with customers.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

I didn't expect much out of these, but they were surprisingly good. The rice is cooked perfectly, sticky and tender, yet each grain is distinctive and almost bouncy, giving great mouthfeel. The musubi seems to be dipped in a small amount of soy sauce, although not enough to cover the entire rice surface. The additional sodium isn't really needed in the first place due to the salty and meaty kick the spam on top gives the handheld snack. It's a classic combination for a good reason! (4/5) For the Food Walk special, they only give a small scoop of mac salad. I'm sure the normal side portion for $5.94 is much larger. The salad is unspectacular but solid. It's a little sweet, a bit peppery, and certainly very creamy. There's a bit of julienned carrot included that isn't particularly crunchy, being soaked in the mayo sauce. The macaroni itself isn't mushy or overcooked, so it still has some texture. Perhaps the Lao Burger served there wasn't as juicy and succulent, with perfectly crisp smashed patties as I recalled? Or perhaps Taurus Ox just serves a completely inferior version. I revisited for a Friday late dinner to reach the bottom of things. This was at around 8PM and the place was surprisingly busy, with a fully running kitchen and almost all seats taken. It's a pretty small restaurant to begin with, but since the food comes fast, people don't typically stay too long. By the time our food arrived, a table had cleared up for us. Lao Burger ($18) - This Lao Burger is just as good as my first visit. Absolutely perfectly fried smash patties, completely with lacy, crispy edges that provide texture and an intense caramelized meaty flavor. I've already described the burger in detail in my previous review - what I can say on this visit is that the burger is basically identical, indicating that Ox Burger is consistent with cook and construction. The burger as a whole has the perfect moisture level with plenty of unique funky, umami-full flavors that make each bite a delight. As with my previous review, two things come to mind that detract just a tiny bit from my full enjoyment. Firstly, the burger as a whole is a bit salty for my tastes, necessitating several trips to refill my cup of water Secondly, the piece of sliced pork belly included is kind of vestigial. It seems to be only there to add additional salt, because neither the flavor nor texture are very apparent while eating. (5/5) Deluxe ($15) - This burger is somehow way messier than the Lao to eat. Upon lifting it up, a mess of watery mustard/mayo mix drips onto the plate. I think it might be from the extra moisture in the tomatoes and lettuce. And yet, somehow the bun isn't soggy at all. This burger is otherwise excellent, combing the same picture perfect smash patties as in the Lao, with the classic fixings - American cheese, bacon, pickles, and plenty of veggie mix. (5/5) I'm glad I gave the Lao Burger another chance. It's now one of my favorite burgers in the city. I'll definitely be coming back to Ox Burger for more. The food was great for all adults involved. Portions of fries are generous and delicious, and come with fancy sauces (none of which appealed to me, but were appreciated by my family). The burgers are really inventive, so we all wanted to try the Lao. It's delicious. I did balk at $18 for just the burger, which is a smash patty (less beef) and I took the cheese, Mayo, and cilantro off. Eighteen dollars! No side, no drink.
