Basic spot with reasonable hygienic standards that is best for when I'm in a bind and can't getnto my regular place. Don't bother making an appointment because they really go with walk-ins as their sole business and you will end up waiting just the same. They're usually good about sanitizing their tools but I have witnessed the techs taking shortcuts when it comes to cleaning and sanitizing their tool sets. Not the worst offenses but something to be aware of, especially if you have sensitive skin. Sometimes they file a bit too much but usually they listen if you have a particular way of getting your mani-pedi done. The cost of services is moderate to low so you're not breaking the bank. Their polishes usually last a decent amount of time and they don't push too many upsells. I will certainly be back if I need them. Staff is pretty nice and so are most customers. read more

Okay I really hate leaving bad reviews...but this was ridiculous. The woman doing my nails filed my finger so hard that it cut through my skin. I tried not to make a big deal about it, but we both saw it was bleeding and she decided to put rubbing alcohol directly on it (I guess to kill the germs) which of course stung like CRAZY. But then she filed over it again and REOPENED the cut. Then she did the powder SNS, with no cuticle oil, no lotion, or anything that a usual manicure comes with. She then sent me to the dryer (which with SNS you aren't really supposed to need a dryer). I had bright, hot pink powder all over my hands and nails. I then went over to another technician (mine was already working on someone else's nails) and was like "sorry, am I done now? I have powder all over my hands...and under my nails." She told me to "go wash my hands." They were legit going to let me leave with hot pink hands The powder was already staining and didn't come off all the way with soap and water. So then I went over to my technician and showed her and she said something about the fact that" it was pink" (?!?) I guess implying that it staining my skin was normal (which it's not). I was trying to be normal and kind and not make a big deal because they were swamped. She then took me over to pay and started to file my skin to get the excess powder off...at the counter... Needless to say I can't come back here. Attached is my open cut and the really crappy looking manicure. I love how she really got rough and strong pushing back my rough cuticle I was really impressed with that usually people hardly apply anypressue to push them back and she did it and it did not hurt. Martha is one of the sweetest people ever. A lot of the reviews speak badly about the Asian staff because they are always on the phone and it's kind of true. However, Martha really took care of my nails and spent a lot of time buffing and filing them. She also asked me questions about my life and she was just wonderful. I got gel nails and one pro is that they have a wide selection to choose from. I mean it's a lot of colors. Any nails themselves turned out well (not super sleek and there is a little unevenness on the surface) but it hasn't chipped yet. Great price for mani-pedi w/o college ID (26.50 with tax Monday-Wednesday) and a good job to go along with it compared to other places in the neighborhood (and there's a TON of other places in the neighborhood). Huge selection of colors (OPI and Essie). Service is a little inconsistent; I've gotten a shoulder massage with my service before and didn't get one another time. It's above the quick/no-frill nails but below the most relaxing, spa-like places. I've gone in as a walk-in and never had to wait but I've noticed that they underestimate the time for others. However, I feel like this is the norm for most nail salons so either take it with a grain of salt or make an appointment. I've seen 1-2 customers get really pissy about the wait time, which the staff handled really well. After all, it's the same for any walk-in at a restaurant; if you're told to wait outside and to listen for your name, you can't leave the restaurant for an errand and expect to be served whenever you decide to wander back in. read more

I booked a mani/pedi through their online app for a Friday afternoon with my friend for her birthday. She was booked SNS dip. They did not have enough staff to accommodate both appointments at the same time (even though I called to confirm that we would). They started with her nails, did not soak or do any traditional manicure procedures - went straight to cutting her cuticles dry. Her polish ending up looking quite bad, and she had to cut remaining hang nails at home. I was waiting to get my services, and they let a walk-in go ahead of me, which I was unimpressed about considering I told them we had a lunch reservation. The technician started with my "pedicure". She did not soak my feet at all, just went in with clippers, cut my nails way too short, and then cut my cuticles dry, which resulted in cutting my skin - this bled into my polish. Because of COVID, I hadn't been for a pedicure in ages, so I had rough skin on my heels. The technician didn't even buff this area at all. The manicure was more of the same, probably the worst I've ever gotten. When all was said and done, the lady told me I owed MORE MONEY because the mani/pedi $36 special was only Monday-Thursday (not stated on website or booking app), and gave me a hard time for an additional $4. This place does not have their act together, poor services, and poor customer service. Look elsewhere, not worth the cheap price tag. read more

Bright, welcoming salon with lots of nice nail polish colors. I was a walk-in on a quiet afternoon. They have a special mani/pedi deal for $38, but I just wanted a pedicure ($29). The woman who was sitting at the first table took me to the back where the foot baths were. She was sweet, quiet, focused, meticulous and efficient. The pedicure went smoothly and was so relaxing. So the search for a good nail salon on the upper west side continues... I was really excited when I found this spot with two friends. A $32 mani pedi is a pretty good deal, and the place looks clean. Mon - Thurs they actually offer a discounted mani pedi for $26. Despite the price, I would highly recommend going elsewhere if you're looking for a manicure that will be done well and will last more than 12 hours. Two of my nails chipped a few hours later. Good thing I bring my own polish when I get my nails done, so I was able to fix it. Firstly, I was shocked by how rushed they were and how little care they put into making sure I had a good experience. All of this just to be and to get more customers in?! I understand not wanting to make people wait, but rushing and getting nail polish all over my finders, missing parts of the nail and not giving a full manicure is not worth it. You just lost a potential customer for that reason. I had a yoga class at 4pm and arrived at 2:30. I asked how long a mani pedi would take just to make sure I had time to get to class. The technician said it would take about an hour. The whole thing took 35 min!!! Overall I did not enjoy my experience. The nail tech did a sloppy job, was talking to her friend the whole time and barely looked at my nails while she was cutting my cuticles and painting my nails. They clearly did not use clean nail instruments, which is a MUST in an NYC nail salon these days if you want to stay open. The technician seemed off and barely showed any effort during both manicure and pedicure. During the manicure, I began to question how sanitary they kept their tools; the cuticle cutter, prior to being used, was filled with another person's cuticle... she wiped it in front of me with a tissue and continued to proceed. I have been going to this nail salon for a few months and I liked it. I used Lupe who is no longer there. I used Anna and thought she was great. The last 2 times I went in it seemed like she did not want to do my nails and I understand that her shellac appts take time so this is not the problem. I waited half hour for her to finish when she came to me it seemed she was mad I was waiting for her. A client of hers came in and did not have an appointment she asked if I would go to someone else I said no. Today I went in for a mani and she was folding paper towels, I asked if she was free and she had a bit of an attitude so I know Im not imaging things since this happened before I left, did not make a scene just left. I went here today for a quick mani-pedi after seeing all the positive Yelp reviews. I have to say I definitely was not disappointed -- the price was just right ($26.50+tip, which is apparently a part of their Mon-Thurs special) and the service was quick and efficient. Not only were the employees nice and helpful, but the salon itself was very clean and tidy. There are some other reviews that complain about the waiting time, but I did not wait at all. I walked in, picked my color, and immediately was serviced for my pedicure. Of course, I'm sure the time I went (a Monday morning around 11) helped, so if you're in a rush and want to be in and out, definitely go earlier in the morning. I don't get mani-pedis very often, only during the Spring and Summer months, but I will definitely make this my go-to spot from now on! read more

My usual nail salon is glitter nails a bit further up on broadway, but they were super busy so i looked around for a different place. I found happy angel and went in and asked for tips and powder. The woman in charge gave me a book of colors and told me to sit down and choose my color. She wasnt super friendly, but I didn't really mind too much. I chose my color and proceeded to sit there for another 15 or so minutes. Then a very rushed woman came over and started to aggressively cut my cuticles. I was getting a pretty complicated service so I was pretty worried. Thankfully the woman in charge took over and although it took a long time, she did my nails and Im pretty happy. I walked in for a mani-pedi and was taken right away but the woman who did my toes had an appointment walk in thereafter, so after she finished my toes, she tried to pawn me off to someone else, but everyone was busy, so I had to wait a good 10-15 to get my mani done. Then when climbing out of the pedi chair, I smushed the polish on my big toe. She tried to fix it by slathering more polish on. I don't find that this ever works well. I walked out with like 6 coats of sheer (now opaque) pink on one toe. My mani did come out nicely and my vinylux polish job lasted the full 7 days The price is good - on the weekend I think it was $30 for both - but I'm going to give some of the other neighborhood spots a try. read more

I wish I could give this place no stars to be honest what a horrible horrible experience. First of all I asked for my acrylics to be taken off they did this in the most painful way by leaving my hands with no nail polish remover to soften the jail and tried rip them off with a MetroCard even after me explaining multiple times that it hurt and was ripping my natural nail. The lady that after my request proceeded to not do what I asked and ripped my nails. I also had my shellac on my feet which was fine however when it came to paying she tried to charge me for 'gel pedicure' at a crazy price. I explained that she diddnt give me a pedicure so I refuse to pay for something I diddnt have. She repeatedly told me I HAD to pay that and EVERYONE does.
