IDE like to start off by saying, I've never had a bad experience from this place until today. We got our food and it was ... ok today. The food came fast, I asked for eggs over medium and they came over easy... no biggie I'll just send them back and get scrambled instead. The waitress was a bit snobby but she replaced them. I got scrambled eggs and they were a bit brown. Not my fortay. We packed up our food and put the money down and left. We didn't leave a big tip at all and for a $50 dollar breakfast that seemed high and the food wasn't to our liking and the service wasn't the best. We got in our car and here comes the waitress running to give our change back.... Which she knew was her tip. I told her that is for you and she said no keep it and ran off. Hole in the wall but definitely a 5-star place. Plenty of parking, staff so great and the food is AMAZING! My wife ordered the 3-egg breakfast. I wanted sausage links well done and over easy eggs. My wife wanted bacon crispy and over hard eggs. This is one of the few places that we've been to that gets the order correct. The bacon, sausages and eggs were cooked just the way we ordered. The home fries were fried and crispy on the edges and soft in the center. Perfect' The home made jelly was the highlight. It's a mixture of three berries (strawberries, blue berries and and I think raspberries) and it explodes with a unique taste that you won't find elsewhere. It's on the sweet side which is the way I like it. We arrived at this place around 10ish and there was mere a lot of open seats. Within 30 minutes, the place was packed. That being said if you have a ESA that has not been trained for your diagnosis it doesn't follow under the same guidelines . Ryker has been at this restaurant going under the table and behaving only alerting when medically necessary. The ppl working here are amazing and interact with each and every person with a smile. Our friend wanted to treat us out to a nice breakfast restaurant, and this is where we came... There's a little bit of seating inside and out on the patio... we were initially seated in the main room; however, our friend asked to be seated in the back room. The server was a little bit hesitant, but moved us back there. I could see why she hesitated. Quite a few tables were not bussed yet and there was food particles and garbage items on the floor. They wiped our table clean and that is where we sat and ate... I was at across roads between the chicken fried steak and the corned beef hash and eggs. The server made an excellent suggestion and said it would be nice to order the corned beef with biscuits and gravy instead of toast. That is what I had. It was delicious. The rest of my party extremely enjoyed their food, so I would certainly come back here again. While I do think their restaurant should be neat and orderly, I do not hold the messiness against them as we were initially not seated in the back room in the first place. read more

Our favorite restaurant to eat at on our way into Pismo! It is a must do on our list every single time we go to the coast. It has truly become a family tradition for us. We love the ambiance, the coastal air, the amazing staff, and the absolutely incredible food. We have been bringing our family here multiple times a year for over five years now. It is worth every second of the 2 1/2 hour trip! From the outside it looks like a small business and most tables are outside for eating. However, there is a large internal restaurant that you don't imagine the space for when looking in. We love to sit outside in the fresh air but I know that some people will only go to restaurants with inside seating. It's super comfortable and the staff is always happy and inviting. It always seems like the best energy when going to this restaurant. Like everyone around you just looks so happy and at peace and it just really starts your day off right. My children love that certain times during the year they serve the children's menu on top of lil bit's frisbees. We take them to the beach and play frisbee on the beach with them afterwards. They also love the food and it's a good portion especially for children. We have ordered many different items off the menu, including the various specials throughout the year. We always leave full and satisfied. My go to is the corned beef hash and I always eat a ridiculous amount of the all you can eat home fries. My family is originally from New York, which is where I grew up as a child. Home fries are a breakfast, staple in New York and very hard to find any kind of authentic flavor here in California. Lil bit's has mastered them and dare I say made them even better. I also make sure to get a side of biscuit (a huge one) and gravy that we share at our table. The number one cannot miss for me is sourdough toast with their homemade jelly! The flavor of the jelly will vary a little bit throughout the year and what fruit is seasonal but it is always the best part! If you have not given this restaurant a try yet, you are truly missing out. I could not imagine a beach trip for our family without stopping here for brunch or breakfast first. A small quaint spot with ample outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. However if you must dine inside that's available too. It's situated at the back of a small parking lot but very easy to find. The menu has plenty to offer but eyes immediately fell upon the homemade corned beef hash. It came paired with 3 eggs and breakfast potatoes. For bread I went with the homemade biscuit. When the plate arrived my eyes lit up as it was so much food. The flavors....wow the favors! So good! From the homemade mixed berry jam to the breakfast potatoes. New favorite breakfast spot found here in Grover Beach. I already can't wait to go back and have been telling every person I know how great it is. It seems as though I didn't receive the memo because apparently every one is aware and has been enjoying their delicious food for ages. Why didn't someone let me in on this best kept secret? After much contemplation on their eclectic menu, I decided on my go-to, the chicken fried steak and upgraded my toast to a biscuit and gravy, or course. My companion ordered her go-to, the corned beef hash. Both were shared and thoroughly enjoyed. The steak was cooked to a perfect crisp and the gravy was just as good. The corned beef hash was perfect, soft and pillowy in the middle with a little crispy crust on the exterior. Did I taste pickled jalapeños or am I trippin'? Either way, two thumbs up from us! Hidden little GEM The parking lot is very small, I would advise parking on the street if you're a horrible driver. Besides that everything is absolutely awesome, the waitresses have great personalities & are quick to attend you. It was pretty early when we went in and they are not able to serve lunch until later in the day, they did make a few exceptions and they actually let us get sandwiches and burgers! We like to find locally owned diner style restaurants for breakfast when we travel. During our 5 days in Pismo Beach we had breakfast at Lil'Bit 5 times. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The food was huge and very flavorful. Both the coffee and our breakfasts came piping hot. Their salsa is home made and really highlighted our meals. If you leave there hungry it is your own fault - they offer seconds on their potatoes which are grilled to perfection. We look forward to eating at Lil'Bit next year when we are back in the area. read more

That gravy was the start of the show. I could drink that stuff. The home fries were so good. I had to order and extra side of that stuff. The biscuits were moist and fluffy. I believe my server's name was Kira (that's the name on my receipt). Kira was rude and had bad customer service. She told me she was the manager and owner, which was surprising, as she had a poor attitude. Here are the facts: My daughter ordered the kid's chicken strips, and when I got the receipt, Kira charged me for, "#1 Three Egg Combo". So, I showed Kira the receipt and told her she accidentally charged me for this instead of the kid's chicken strips. Kira's response was, "No, that's correct, and I actually saved you a dollar." I was surprised, and said, "My daughter ordered the kid's chicken strips." Her response was, "You have to be 9 and under; it clearly says 9 and under on the menu." I was taken aback, because she never asked me how old my daughter was (last month, my daughter turned 11, but she never asked). Additionally, when we ordered, my daughter looked at the menu and told me she wanted chicken strips. Then, I looked at Kira and told her, "She'll have the kid's chicken strips." I explained this to Kira, and said she allowed my daughter to order off the kid's menu, and never told us that she couldn't. She responded, "You have to be 9 and under; it clearly says 9 and under on the menu." I responded "Ok, I missed that, but I ordered kid's chicken strips and you never told me I couldn't." She said, "I have four children and I always pay full price." I responded, "Ok, but why didn't you say anything before, when we ordered; then, you give us a surprise bill?" Kira responded, "I don't know what to tell you." Kira kept saying, "It clearly says 9 and under on the menu," but their menu has errors. For example, my husband ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with no cheese. Kira responded, "That doesn't come with cheese." My husband showed her the menu that said the sandwich came with cheese, and her response was, "I don't know why it says that; it doesn't come with cheese; I order that sandwich like four times a week." We had a party of six (four adults and two children), and lil Bits Café charges 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. However, this automatic gratuity should be off the subtotal, and lil Bits Café charges you this gratuity off of the total, which includes the tax. You cannot charge gratuity off of the tax. I showed Kira the receipt and she looked confused, so, I showed her the math with my calculator. Her response was, "I don't know why it did that, it has never done that before." I responded, "Well, you charged me off the tax; I showed you the math." Kira smugly responded, "I can do the math myself." I responded, "Ok, but you're charging us off of the total, and you can't do that." She rudely placed three dollars on the table, and said something along the lines of, "Here, happy?" Since she was being rude, I pointed out that she also charged us for a split plate. There was no good faith disclosure. Kira, annoyingly responded, "Here," and threw two dollars on the table, but she said she would not do anything for the chicken strips. When I left, Kira followed me outside and told me, "Don't come back." Then, she waited for my husband, stood in front of him, and told him the same thing. I did not mention this to Kira, but after we left, I noted that she also charged my daughters for adult drinks. I think a drink may have been included with the kid's meal, but if it was not, their cups were much smaller than the adult cups, and she charged me adult prices. If the customer service was better, I would have let the money go, but there were a lot of deceitful charges. My impression is that lil Bits Café is sly, and they knowingly charge their patrons more than they should. Check your receipt. Luckily, I took a picture of my itemized receipt, because after I paid, they kept the itemized receipt. Side note, bathrooms were dirty and our table was sticky. read more

Even though our table had four chairs, we were very cramped next to each other (no space between side-by-side chairs). The serving sizes were nice, and the food tasted okay. The omelets and potatoes were oily and greasier than three of us prefer. We did have trouble getting refills on our beverages since our server sat down with a man while he ate, ignoring all of her tables of customers. One person in our group did have iced tea and mentioned that it tasted "weird." There must have actually been something wrong with it since that same person, and no one else in our group, was sick in the bathroom for much of the remainder of the day. The food is good and it is definitely a cute local spot, but you may wish to stay clear of the iced tea. read more

I suggest you read up on your ADA laws before hiring workers who are unfamiliar with the laws of California and decide to discriminate against an ADA service animal. read more
