Soooo...Brooks Burgers in Pismo Beach is apparently now their only venue (the location on Tank Farm road in SLO changed a while back to "Petras"). We were sorry to see that location close down and extend our sympathies to Dallas (Owner) at having to close that location down (good help is so hard to find). Regardless, it won't keep us away from Brooks...cause the food is still "bangin". Yesterday's order was to go...we always ate "in" at the SLO location (just a "nicer ambiance") but always "take out" from Pismo (not thrilled with the fact that there is an added "take out fee" for this on your bill). Jaxon was our Order/Cashier associate on this occasion. He was personable in service and knowledgeable with regard to menu offerings. The restaurant wasn't as busy as I expected at 7PM but it took "a bit" to get the order out. Nevertheless..it was "on the money accurate" (exactly what we ordered/wanted) and that in my opinion...is worth waiting for. Our order : 2X Black and Blue Salads (4/5...yummy) and a Crispy Chicken Combo with Tater Tots (5/5...delicious). I had a "Combo Coupon" ($10 Combo instead of regular price), but still the bill was basically $43 dollars. Somewhat of a "value factor" because with a salad each, we were able to share the Crispy Chicken and were completely satisfied with our meal. Was passing through Pismo on my way up to the bay area and wanted somewhere to grab a quick and relatively inexpensive lunch that would fill me up - my usual Pismo spots are sit down and more expensive so I wasn't familiar with Brooks Burgers despite countless visits to Pismo. I am so glad Yelp recommended Brooks Burgers bc it was exactly what I was looking for! Just an excellent burger and fries and at reasonable prices. I also loved the variety of drinks including lemonades and iced tea. It isn't common to find steak fries, which are my favorite and they were very well seasoned. The staff were friendly and they were very accommodating when I asked if I could substitute avocado for the bacon that came on the burger, which I really appreciated. Very filling and was glad I had a cooler with ice in the car because I took half of it home for later and it was still very enjoyable reheated. When you advertise smoky applewood bacon-give me a thick slice of bacon and not a flimsy Burger King bacon. The Big Boy was delicious! Double up on flavor with The Big Boy Burger. This mouthwatering favorite features two juicy 1/3 lb. patties, layered with fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, caramelized onions, and our house-made Boss Sauce. I get it, you're in a groove. But, he walked past me went to our table and I followed him back to our table and ordered the condiments sitting down. He was moving so fast I'm sure he didn't recognize me. But, either way-I think remembering peoples faces and who's at the table helps with awareness.
