I got the chicken gyro plate and wasn't able to finish it all because they gave you so much meat so the value is pretty awesome! I thought the chicken was a little bland but I think that was impacted by them giving so much meat and rice that is all I really ate. Providing more tomatoes and grilling the onions probably would have helped. The sauce was really good though! read more

My first gyro experience was at Lilly's and now I am spoiled! This little mom and pop shop will blow you away with their authentic Greek food! Me and my wife went here with no great expectations of the quality of the food.We were pleasantly surprised.The restaurant is family owned and mom,dad and son work here to provide great food.Very friendly people.Restaurant is small and has a shady feel.But appearances can be deceiving and in this case they are. Food is beyond amazing. We had falafal, hummus and baba ganoush. I have tried many middle eastern restaurants but this is by far the best falafal I had. Too good. The gyros are wonderful! Can't say anything about the rest of the food because I always get the Lillys plate (gyro, fries and soda). You can't go wrong! I would definitely recommend the gyro pizza, the lamb and beef gyros, lily salad with the house sauce. It's a family vibe for sure. Today I had the lunch special which includes the 6 in gyro with fries and a drink. The meat was flavorful and tender. The restaurant is tiny and quaint but is a requirement for any visitors to the area. The owners are some of the sweetest people I know. They always great you with a smile. read more

This place is a must try if you like gyros! Don't judge this place from the looks - it's an old Taco Bell and tiny . Bathrooms are accessible from outside - that's how old this building is. But it's always clean and bright on the inside. The food is great! Honestly, the BEST gyros around - and I've tried just about all of them. Fresh pita bread, hot and crispy fries, and the best tasting meat. The owners are quite possibly the nicest people ever encountered at a mom and pop shop. I absolutely love them. They make everyone feel welcome and are so polite. Just makes your day happy! They are generous with portion size - you won't leave hungry . When I get it to go, I order two gyro plates and two extra pita bread and that feeds two adults and two 11y/o's. with the plates , everything is separate( including the sauce) so you make your gyro the way you like. When I eat there for lunch, I order the sauce on the side so it doesn't get too soggy. I usually have leftovers from lunch and can then take it home with sauce on the side. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get our food but I guess when you have a small place like this and packed with customers, of course you are going to wait. I have been coming here off and on since 2010 and would recommend their gyros over any from St Louis. This hole in the wall has been in the same building which is an old Taco Bell converted. I always get the gyros plate that comes with rice or fries and flat bread. Sour cream sauce and fresh tomato slices and onions compliment the meal. Buy the plate meal and it will come with a drink. In 8 years of coming here, I get this all the time because it is filling. To go order, I would get the gyros sandwich which comes in 6,7 or 9". I can't speak for the other items on the menu. Seating is limited and can get crowded during lunch. Bathroom is located outside behind building and you will need a key from the owner. This was an inconvenience. Parking is also limited. I give 4 stars because, like all family run business, the portion of meat has decreased. I remember back when the portion was piled high and wide. Now it has considerably decreased and the price is still the same. Can't fault them for it since it occurs with all food services. I still come here several times and will continue. read more

I had the lamb and beef gyro and it was okay. After all the reviews I was expecting it to be much better than it was. I ordered mine to go since the inside is so small and there were several people in there. I ordered it without tomatoes but when I opened it I found tomatoes, no big deal I picked them off. However, the sauce they put in the gyro is runny! My wrapper was soaked and actually ripping, it was just a mess. What I had of the gyro was, like I said, okay, but I don't know that I'll be back. I think the gyros from super gyro in Belleville are more flavorful, just my opinion though. read more

After my husband was stationed in the Middle East twice, it's been a must that we find a place that serves gyros. So when we arrive at a new base, we scout that place out. It was my first visit to Lilly's Gyros and I had the gyro meal, and my husband just had a gyro. We always share a soda because we hardly drink any of it, and we always share fries. The food was good, but what was such a turn off was to be told we cannot share. There is a sign on the sofa machine stating " share the love, but not your drink". We shared the drink anyway, but was told that we were not allowed a refill- which we didn't need, or never get. I grabbed 4 ketchup packets for my fries, and when the server brought us our food, she said " I see you found the ketchup"- in a tone that indicated I should have taken less. Btw, I used all 4 packets and nothing went to waste. The other shock was the napkins. It was actually a paper towel holder which stated-"one napkin per customer". The sauce in the gyro is good but quite messy, and you do need more than one napkin to clean up with. In all my life I have never seen a food establishment with these kinds of rules. Who does that? The experience of the frugalness from the owners took away from the tastefulness of the food. If I ever decide to go back, I'll be sure to bring my own napkins and ketchup with me. read more

Even my husband though the pasta dish was bland and the noodles were over cooked. But I have to say if your looking for some great gyros you don't have to go to St. Louis anymore.
