I walked by the store and the cinnamon rolls smelled heavenly! Usually I Yelp places before visiting them to make sure they get good reviews. I didn't do that this time, but I wish I had. Not sure about all the bad reviews, but we stopped by here after visiting the aquarium to get some cinnamon rolls and it was actually pretty good. Some here may even call me crazy to compare these to Cinnabon, but I feel like these cinnamon rolls were just the right amount of sweetness as opposed to the overly sweetened Cinnabon roll. The cinnamon rolls are good. Maybe slightly on the dry side. They are kept in a separate area away from all the gluten items. My only complaint is that the establishment doesn't honor their signage which has been up for years (looked at pics on Google 2022). There's a list of all the rolls offered from regular to almond, gluten free & sugar free. At the very bottom it clearly states Family 4 Pack: Buy 4 Get 1 Free! Horrible experience. First of all the staff, not friendly what so ever. Tried to talk to them and nothing. We were walking down Cannery Row and I saw a sign that said "warm gooey cinnamon rolls." On the way back to the car I saw Lilly Mae's and impulsively went in expecting Cinnabon or better. I should have known the rolls were not fresh just looking at the cakes on icing but it was too late! I payed the $8 for the original frosted cinnamon roll. The young lady behind the counter grabbed the spatula that was under the walnut rolls (cross contamination! what if I had a nut allergy!) and then to my horror she walked to a small microwave in the corner and express cooked it. I thanked the lady and walked outside hoping the microwave had done its job. I assured my wife that the roll would be good and took a bite.. I could not contain myself..
