Small little place located on Cannery Row. Their cinnamon buns were good and liked all the different flavors they had to offer. They do not just sell cinnamon rolls either but also serve cookies, cupcakes, pot pies and some pastries. Their rolls were average size but think that they were way overpriced. I had a walnut cinnamon roll which was $7, it was good but not sure it was $7 good. They have a microwave where they heat your rolls up if you want, so not quite sure how fresh the rolls are, but they did not taste stale. They are a few tables inside to sit and eat and sell the rolls in packages to take home. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service at about 145/2pm today, 4/3/21. My daughter and her friends ordered some sugar cookies (that mind you are store bought, Safeway sells them) and a few cupcakes. The total was more than $40 and my daughter only had 35 so she asked if they could put back one of the cupcakes (she did not have them in her posession yet) and the two girls gave her MAJOR attitude about it. Really nice customer service for a Cannery Row business where customer service is your job. She brought the cookies home and they were horrible and stale. My biggest complaint is they did not give her a receipt and did not give her any change back. NOT COOL. Don't take advantage of people, bottom line- and, get some customer service skills. Wish I read the reviews before getting anything here. My bf and I came to Cannery Row from the Bay area. We're very familiar with high prices being from that area everything is expensive. We've been around Cannery Row before and usually go to a crepe spot but it was closed. We ended up passing this spot and it looked cute from the outside. Once we walked in I was immediately put off with how old everything in the displays looked. I saw the signs that said everything is made fresh and saw they had funnel cakes on the menu. I got excited because I love funnel cakes and thought you can't really mess those up. We ordered and it came out to $17.50 total. Each topping is an extra $3.50 and we got 3. I wanna preface this by saying I sat in the nook directly in front of where she was making the funnel cake so I could see EVERYTHING. First of all, the lady making our funnel cake wasn't wearing gloves while touching any of the food items, her nails did look super dirty while she was ringing us up but she used tongs to grab the funnel cake (which was just reheated). The strawberries aren't fresh it's just a purée which would've been nice to know. $3.50 extra for a purée is pretty ridiculous, but moving on, there was the caramel she poured out of a ketchup cup looking thing, idk, it just didn't come from a bottle, then the vanilla ice cream which wasn't anything special, The funnel cake dough was pretty dry. It wasn't great, we didn't finish it. I honestly don't think I've ever had a worse experience trying a funnel cake lol. I guess I didn't get a fresh one, but it's okay. I didn't want to eat it warm. I asked for a cup of water. Now, maybe I'm just spoiled, but most places I've ever gone to always gave a cup of water for free. Because it's just a cup of water. BUT NOT THIS PLACE. This place charges you for the cup and the water. I had to pay around $2 dollars for the small cup and water. EH So my friend and I are hoping beyond all hope that the cinnamon roll would taste good... It didn't. The very middle of the roll was okay. It was warm, it was soft, and the frosting was sweet and easy to take in. It was just the rest of the dessert that failed. The other parts weren't warm enough. Despite the mix of good and bad reviews, I thought this place okay. I've passed by here twice and it always seems busy. When we came here, there were two ladies working and both were very nice. We were visiting Monterey recently and I remembered this shop from previous visits. It was delicious then and it is delicious now. Anyway, nondescript mediocre cinnamon rolls that were quite pricey and very scant on icing (although you can buy extra). We came to this tourist trap on a whim after a long walk and should've done our research before plunking down several hard-earned dollars for very meh calories. The cinnamon rolls weren't horrendous or unpalatable, but just overall disappointing, especially relative to places like Cinnabon or even a specialty pastry store.
