This review is long overdue, but I wanted to finally share my wedding experience. I hired Jasmine and Lilly for my wedding.  I liked the work that I saw on Instagram so I scheduled a trial. During the trial we went over looks that I was interested in. The trial took about 3 hours. We discussed what I wanted beforehand, Jasmine did the makeup and then made changes based on my preferences. Jasmine helped me style each of my looks via text/email which was helpful as well. I loved that each one of my looks was different. I wanted something more dramatic for the reception. They arrived on time to all of the events and also helped with my bridal party hair and makeup. The makeup stayed all day without it looking cakey.  I loved how efficient the process was. During the events, I had a million other things to worry about and hair/makeup was not one of them. I was able to go over the look quickly with Jasmine/Lilly before they started and be done within 2 hours. In terms of pricing, they are definitely reasonable. There were some other artists who were quoting me $500+ per event. It's super convenient that they accept Venmo. read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jasmine, who did my makeup, dressing and jewelry setting for my wedding weekend in June 2023. To put it simply, she managed to turn me into a queen! As someone who usually hates makeup and dressing up, I am sure I was a relatively challenging bride to please, but I really appreciated Jasmine's patience with me as I underwent the process of figuring out what I wanted to look like on my big day. While most brides do one trial, she made herself available to me four times on the weekend, to make sure I felt completely comfortable by the time of my wedding weekend. Her expertise was also invaluable to me, especially given my inexperience, and she offered me a lot of insight in general as to how to take care of my skin. I now regularly use some of the products she suggested. On the day of our wedding events, we had our hands full and couldn't make time to confirm all the details with any of our vendors. But Jasmine showed up to every event exactly on time and was always completely prepared. I felt a little frazzled that day (to say the least), but she had a very calming presence that really helped extinguish my stress. On my wedding day, I felt like the most beautiful woman in the world. Now it is a month after the wedding, and I am still receiving comments from everyone about how great I looked, and most importantly my husband says he will remember how gorgeous I looked for the rest of his life. Jasmine and Lilly are such a fantastic duo! There is so much to appreciate about them as people and their work! I contacted Jasmine about hair and makeup in San Jose. Unlike other artists, she was prompt with replying, thorough, and patient. When planning out the details of your look is very stressful, Jasmine's professional and very organized approach made me feel at ease. Jasmine made sure she had all the details of what I wanted for my hair and makeup in advance. She was on time on the day of the event. She's such a sweetheart, very calm to be around. Her mom came and worked on my hair, also really nice, while Jasmine worked on my makeup. They made the whole process very efficient and fun! Jasmine did an incredible job incorporating the mint greens (I asked for her to use some of my bought makeup) and giving me a glamorous but not overcaked look, which for Indian events I see can be a challenge. Lilly and Jasmine did my makeup, sari draping and hair for my wedding and they're amazing! I looked at other artists in the Bay Area and I liked Lilly and Jasmine for the quality of work. Others' makeup was too dramatic for my liking and I liked how subtle but amazing their makeup was. Lilly draped my Kanjeevaram sari and braided my hair along with the flowers and hair accessories, major kudos!! They came on time at 5 am to Livermore, and got me ready on time. They also worked well with our photographer, which contributed to good getting ready photos! The reason for 4 stars (more like 4.5 stars) despite the amazing service is the pricing.. I contacted them in November of 2015 for my wedding in February 2016 and the prices went up in 2016. I asked her if she could honor the 2015 prices since I contacted her in 2015 but she said since I didn't sign a contract, it wouldn't be fair for the other brides.. If I knew about the price increase, I would've signed the contract in 2015 saving a few dollars.. Other than that, loved their work and would highly recommend them!! read more

I asked Lily the day before if she could do makeup/hair for my bridal shower - I made it clear that if she did not have time to accommodate me, to let me know, and that was ok, since it was a last minute request. Instead, she told me to come in at 10am. I show up at 1015 - when I got there, she was already clearly in the middle of working on two other clients - she let me know it was ok I was late since she was 'behind schedule'. I waited till 1050 before anyone started on me - by the time she finished my hair it was 1120, and the bridal shower party began at 1145 - there was no time to do my makeup (which was the main reason I was there), and drive back in time. I basically wasted more than 2 hours, hauling myself over to her beauty parlor to waste time getting my hair curled (which I could have done myself), plus she charged me full price for the hair. 1 star for unnecessary stress. If i had known she couldn't get my makeup done, I would have stayed home and had ample time to do a job on my own. read more

They are amazing at makeup but skip hair and dupatta draping and go with someone else for that. My hair totally fell after 30 mins and so did the dupatta draping. The makeup held up well and was exactly what I wanted. I did not do a trial for my hair and wished I had. A bun with a pouf in the front should not be hard to accomplish but my hair was totally flat in every single picture and my dupatta was draped by Lily in 5 minutes, which was evident from all the pics. After reading the reviews I went to Lilly to have my eyebrows threaded, I arrive for my appt and Lilly wasn't available so some young girl did my eyebrows. She didn't remove a single piece of hair, was unable to shape my brows and she wasn't able to trim my brows properly. I pretty much paid $8 for her to comb my eyebrows over. I spent the next 30 mins sitting in the car doing my own eyebrows, what a waste of time, effort and money. To top it off, horrrrible customer service. read more

This place rocks. It's an awesome little gem hidden away across from Eastridge Mall. I got some highlights in my hair and was out of there in half an hour. Lilly is the nicest lady and chats with you while you wait. The place is practically just a back room in the house of the owner, but don't let that scare you away. It's all very professional and she has the same seats, machines, and gadgets that big salons have. Follow the sign for "Lilly's Beauty World" and walk around towards the backyard into the sliding door. It seems like walk-ins aren't generally encouraged, so you should probably call ahead for an appointment. read more

This place is great! It's an in home business run by a very nice woman named Lilly, who does all sorts of services: haircuts, styling, threading, and henna. My sister and I were recommended to go to her by another friend, and we were very happy! I had never done eyebrow threading before, and heard that it's relatively painless, so we thought to try it. She does a really great job as trimming and shaping eyebrows really nicely and evenly. She also does the upper lip as well. I prefer threading to tweezing or waxing and it lasts a good couple of weeks, longer if you keep maintaining it. And it's only $10 which seems pretty cheap. We haven't gotten haircuts here yet, but we saw the patron before us and she styled it afterwards and it looked really nice. You also get a discount on threading if you get a haircut. Since I don't live in the area anymore, I can only go every couple of months when I'm back in town, and that's when my sister goes too =) read more

This place is AWESOME! The decor is modern and spacious with a relaxed vibe I have been going to this place since more than a year now. Great place for all my beauty needs - eye brows, hair color, hair cut, waxing, facial... Lilly is very friendly, professional and expert in her trade. She is always so great about making sure to ask a lots of questions to figure out what I want. It's not expensive, and she's quick. I can call her when I'd like to come in and she's always really nice about it. I don't see myself going anywhere else for my beauty needs. read more

Being an out of state bride, I wasn't able to have a trial, but I spoke to Jasmine on the phone to talk through what I wanted. She perfectly executed my makeup vision on the day of. This is definitely a long over-due review! I had my wedding last year in November. I had my wedding in San Jose - but I lived 4 hours away. I had not met Lilly until the day before my wedding when I had my trial done. I was initially worried about not having my trial done by her ahead of time, however, to my pleasant surprise, she and her daughter did a fantastic job. Lilly is also a really sweet person and VERY understanding - she really listened to what & how I wanted my hair & makeup done. I already knew what I wanted and she quickly understood and did my hair & makeup exactly how I wanted it if not better! I'm very happy with how my hair & makeup came out in pictures/video! I have been going to Lilly for almost 7 yrs now..and I would highly recommend her to anyone whos looking for treading, facials, and especially hair. She did my hair for all my wedding events and I couldnt have been happier with the results. I love going in and getting facials in her relaxing private room. The salon set up is done very nicely. She is very professional and knows what shes doing. She is also very helpful and always gives great tips on how to keep my skin looking good between facials. Lilly did my cousin's bridal hair and makeup back in October 2007 and my cousin looked amazing so when we met Lilly's Beauty World at Vivah South Asian Wedding Expo 2012, my sister pretty much knew who she was going to book for her upcoming wedding (September 2013). So far, my sister has had her bridal consultation and trial and thus far Lilly and Jasmine have both been great to work with. My sister's bridal trial came out exactly as she had hoped. Lilly and Jasmine both really listened to what my sister was looking for and accentuated upon it. Since her trial was in the morning we even got to test out how well her hair and makeup would last throughout the day. And despite all that my sister did that wedding planning busy and hot Saturday, she did not look like a hot mess at the end of the day! Speaking of the morning appointment, Lilly and Jasmine were extremely busy the morning we stepped in and despite all that was going on in the salon, they were both extremely accommodating to assist all their clients and all their extra/unexpected needs. There was even a girl who showed up about 35 minutes late for her 10am appointment and even though there is a sign on the salon door which states something along the lines of, "If you are 15 or more minutes late, please reschedule your appointment" she was still accommodated despite her tardiness and tight schedule to make an event at 11:45. All in all, so far my sister, Mom and I have had a great experience with Lilly's Beauty World and I am happy to recommend the salon. Lilly and Jasmine are a great Mother/Daughter team. Additional Comments: Location - Lilly's Beauty World is easy to find and a clean salon. Its a corner house off of Quimby Road. There is a nice pathway which leads you to the salon which is on the right (Quimby Road facing) side of the house. I cannot thank Lilly's Beauty World enough for all they did for me during my wedding! I got married October 2015 and used Lilly's Beauty World for the makeup, hair, jewelry setting, and draping for my engagement party, wedding, and reception. I had a trial with Lilly and Jasmine over a year before my actual wedding date and felt so comfortable and beautiful after leaving the trial that I booked them immediately. What I love about this duo is that they TRULY listen to what you want to look like. Never once did they push me to try a look just because it was in style or popular. Not only are they not pushy, they are also extremely flexible and allow a person to change their mind. The morning of my wedding, I let Lilly know that I wanted to change my hair style from the one we had discussed in the trial and she quickly said ok, no problem and moved on. My hair and makeup for the wedding was so beautiful, and I can honestly say that I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life. But best of all, I STILL LOOKED LIKE MYSELF. And my makeup and hair stayed in place for over 12 hours, even after sweating through it and crying through it. For my reception Jasmine literally saved my life. I won't name names, but after another hair stylist bailed on me a few hours before the reception, (yes, I know, every brides worst nightmare come true) I reached out to Lilly and Jasmine to see if they could by any chance do my hair as well, and of course they were more than accommodating and said no problem, even though we hadn't had a reception hair trial. In the end Jasmine not only did makeup that was even more beautiful than I could have imagined, but she was able to put together a hairstyle that was not only exactly what I had wanted, but again stood up to a long night of dancing. I would recommend Lilly's Beauty World to every single bride out there!! They will arrive on time, always have a smile on their faces, and do the most amazing makeup that will make you feel like a million bucks. If you have a big family like mine, they will also accommodate to that and bring extra artists (they brought 3 extra artists to my wedding because I had over 15 people getting hair/makeup done). Also, since weddings are ridiculous and cost an arm and a leg, it doesn't hurt that Lilly is the most reasonably priced bridal MUA in the Bay Area. She is certified by Dress Your Face and her work is beyond gorgeous. One of her many specialties is Indian Bridal makeup. Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful Jasmine and Lilly made me look for my wedding and reception at the Fairmont San Francisco in November 2019. Even though I had a trial with them a few months prior, the trial did not do the real thing justice at all! My make up was absolute perfection throughout the entire ceremony and reception - I truly never felt so beautiful. Lilly also draped and pinned my silk sari and it was truly the most stunning and flattering draping I have ever had done even though my fiance's family is South Indian and have draped my sari's many times before. Pros- -good sense of style -on time from San Jose to SF (at 6AM) Cons -too focused on pricing -"every extra person/service" is charged (so clarify this before hand) -the day of my wedding- albeit she was on time- she had to get a 2nd bride ready- i did not know this up front and just did not like that feeling. i would have wanted her full attention. The review was written by the bride (Mita). There can be many rationalizations. Fact is they were 2 hrs late on the wedding day, attributed to address issues. However there was never a call to clarify, or update. The address was not wrong. I said Doubletree in Fremont, which is the same as Newark if you google it. I am not sure which location you were driving to, because that's the only Doubletree in the area. As far as not complaining, there really isn't much time to "redo" everything when everything is that late, and the photographers are already there waiting. You should really have some understanding of the fact that it's a wedding day. The day before I was physically there in the middle of ceremonies, and having you wait for 20 min should not make it okay to be so late. As far as the finances, we have no issue with the cost. It's the quality of service provided for the cost. I had to have my aunties redo my saris because they kept falling off. The makeup was not as good as it should have been for me and the bridesmaids. Fact is, quality was not delivered and I would not recommend it. Just want others to know before they consider your services, as we were too trusting. read more

I researched multiple MUAs for my wedding & reception days. Some were very unresponsive and other transformed the way I looked (but not in a good way). Thank god I found Lilly's Beauty World through their Instagram account. Jasmine is AMAZING!!!! I knew I wanted to book her the day I had my make-up trial. She was very patient and listened to every detail I provided. Leading up to the wedding, Jasmine made sure she had all the details of what I wanted for my hair and makeup in advance. We talked through each look over FaceTime and she was prepared. During the events, she was on time and quick. She made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. Lilly and Jasmine were my hair and makeup artists on my wedding day. I want to start off with Lilly - and if I could, I would give her 5 stars! She is sweet, caring, and definitely does an excellent job with hair. My bridesmaids and I were very happy with our hair. You can easily tell hair is her passion and why she owns her own salon. When I first contacted LB Salon for my wedding needs, Jasmine was very prompt and excited - and of course I was interested in her work. Soon after I paid the deposit and signed the contract things started changing. She started getting harder to get a hold of, and her excuse would be her day job - and I am not blaming her at all for this - my concern here is that even if you have other priorities in the day, please get back to your clients in the evening, or at least in the next day or two. I would have to text her a couple times over a few days to get a response. Then there was an issue of the trial vs day of wedding makeup. During the trial she asked me about my skin and if there are certain products I like (I am a makeup junkie myself), and throughout the trial she would let me check in about how I liked my eyes, skin, etc. - I appreciated this very much so I could make suggestions or let her know I liked it! On the day of the wedding, I did not once get to see what I looked like until she was done - worse than that I saw her use all different products and colors than what we had discussed during the trial. The first time I saw myself as a bride all dolled up I couldn't help but cry because my eyes were not how I wanted and I did not have time to redo anything. And as I mentioned earlier, since she had used a different foundation than in the trial, it started to get oily on my skin within 2 hours and I had to touch up every couple hours. She used a high end foundation during the trial that she knew I am used to wearing and I had mentioned it lasts for hours on me and then used a drugstore one on the day of my wedding, without asking or saying anything. I am glad I know enough about makeup to do my own touchups, but the reason I wanted to hire a makeup artist is because they know how to make your makeup last for hours and still look flawless. Finally, the two weeks before the wedding my coordinator was trying to get a hold of her to confirm timings and she was not able to. The day of the wedding she shows up just a couple minutes late. As artists, they of course have tools and need time to set up, so I would imagine they would come just a few minutes prior to when their start time is so they have the time to set up and can start the first client when they are supposed to and not set up during the time they should be working with their first client. read more

Jasmine and Lilly are amazing and I feel very lucky to have found them online and for them to have done my hair and makeup! I am from the east coast, but had a family wedding in Livermore CA for which my mom and I needed to get out hair and makeup done on 3 occasions. Jasmine was very timely on responding to questions via email and phone. In the lead up to the wedding I provided Jasmine pictures of different looks we wanted for each event and she provided advice on what would and wouldn't work. And the results were amazing - not only did we receive loads of compliments on how amazing we looked, more importantly we felt gorgeous! Jasmine's makeup skills are phenomenal and she very easily moves between fresh and simple to dramatic. My mom has short hair and Lilly was able to do updos. My mom felt that this was by far the best experience she has had getting hair and makeup done. If there was something my mom didn't like or wanted to changes, Lilly and Jasmine happily worked with her until she was happy. Lilly also pinned our sari's for us on a few occasions in both Bengali and Gujurati style and did so beautifully. I cannot speak highly or more enthusiastically about them.
