I love Lima's and I would recommend this place to everyone. However, Freddy needs to work on his customer service. He lacks customer service. I have gone to this location several times and I wonder if he just does not like me, a black female? However, if I go back he can NEVER WAIT ON ME AGAIN!!! The rest of the staff is great. Awful food, dirty-looking restaurant. I did carry-out and had to wait for them to cooking pork chops, which are totally NOT worth it. They are very thin and smelly. It's a distinct pork smell, I can't describe it, but it was repulsive by the time I got home. I couldn't eat it. I ordered the chicken for my son. It smelled great, but he said it was gritty and over cooked. I totally passed on the fountain drink... the machine was filthy! The ice dispenser cover looks like it hadn't been washed ever. Ordered through grub hub for dinner and was not disappointed! Everything tasted fresh and was well seasoned. You also get a large amount of food! We got the Lima's chicken special which was 1 full chicken with 3 sides and soda. We got white rice, black beans, and yuca for the sides. Food is very good, taste is awesome and big portions for one serving. I had the tallarin saltado with chicken, and was able to get 3 meals out of one order. The ceviche is full of flavor but if you dont like spicy food make sure to let them know because it was too spicy for me but perfect for my husband. The horchata is very good. Had been wanting to try since it opened a few years ago, saw a Facebook post from all Annapolis saying it was a must try so I did. I really hope that was a paid ad because there is absolutely no reason to go here. Although some of the items sound interesting and different on the Peruvian specials I went with the charbroiled chicken. It was juicy but not any better then Boston market chicken and no where close to Nando peri peri's. The sides where larger portion sides, tried the black beans again just average and for some reason I got fried rice which would best be described as discussing mush. Having not tried anything else I can't say if it's worth trying other then I probably won't be going back to try any other items. read more

Outstanding food. They brine the chicken (with herbs and lime juice I suspect) and then roast it over coals. Excellent sides. The smell will get you salivating before you ever see the food. My favorite dish is the Pollo Pallera, which is half a boned chicken then grilled and served hot. Tried a lot of their dishes, and not one so far has been a disappointment. All the sides are fantastic too, but personal favorites are the green beans, fried rice, or the mixed veggies. read more

Their methods of service needs some help. When I was at the Bowie location, I ordered the !/4 white meat with fries and vegetable. Well they place everything on your plate and then you have to wait your turn to pay. By the time I sat down, the fries were limp, soggy and cold. The other two food items didn't fare well either. When we got to the Annapolis location, they of course, had the same set up. There weren't too many folks in line and we decided to order a sandwich and burrito. It took a long time for our order to arrive and guess what, when they did the fries were cold. The chicken cheesesteak sandwich with grilled mushrooms, onion, peppers, tomato and lettuce was tasty, but nothing special. The burrito was so big, it was impossible to eat, and so it was de-constructed into its many parts and eaten with fork and knife. Another poster was spot on about some of the vegetable sides. They most certainly came from a can. Just because a place might have one winner on their menu, (the spit grilled chicken) it doesn't excuse them for not having the same quality control over other items that are served. This place recently opened in the space where Dimeo's Pizza once was. I probably wouldn't have gone there just because I forget about businesses over there, but a co-worker suggested it and I was hungry for lunch so my boyfriend and I tried it. I was very satisfied! It's kind of similar to Nando's just cheaper and with a peruvian spin on it. There are lots of menu options aside from chicken. My boyfriend and I split the carne asada with 2 sides ($12.95, not bad) We chose the black beans and veggies to go with it. The meal was delicious! We only got 1 order and it was plenty for the 2 of us to share. The steak was juicy and flavorful and the black beans were some of the best I've ever had! This place was a pleasant surprise, and a great option for a take-out dinner during the workweek when I don't feel like cooking. So like other reviewers this place charged me a ridiculous price for the "rice bowl" without any meat. It used to cost around $6.00. Now they charged me $9.00 and it's been less than a year from my $6.00 charge for the same thing. Every time you come here they charge different prices. My husband and I ordered 2 chicken salad bowl's and the service was terrible. The young lady who served us seemed annoyed by me asking questions about the toppings they offered. She was unfriendly and rolled her eyes when I asked her for the chicken bowl instead of the 1/4 Chicken meal I considered getting initially. Fyi, the 1/4 chicken meal had not been prepared yet, so I didn't understand her frustration? She used her bare fingers to drop my lettuce on our salads and rushed us through the line. The gentleman at the register was even worse. He was flat and unwelcoming. I asked why my food was a higher cost than the price listed on the menu and he gave a rude and short explanation. I also asked what dressing came with the meal and he said THE GREEN AND YELLOW ONE. When we got to our truck we noticed there was no dressing in our bag, so my husband went back in to get them and the guy at the register tried to charge my husband for the dressing we never received. I've been to two in DE (Chicken House and a new one a mile down the road) and I've been to the popular Pollo Rico near Silver Spring, MD. This place has far juicer chicken and with better seasoning too! I like how I'm not forced to have rice as a side as I'm following a low carb diet. The spot is not easily seen from the street but parking on the inside of the community is pretty easy and accessible. The chicken is great! I love the chicken at Lima's, but I hate the treatment that I get in this place, and it causes me to stay away, even though I live in Annapolis. I now go out of my way to eat at Sardi's - much better chicken and they don't nickel and dime you over asking for an extra tiny container of sauce. I just went to Limas tonight and realized why I rarely go - the guy refused to give me extra sauce, he said I had enough. I don't know how much money they save by scrimping on an extra sauce, but I'm sure it pales in comparison to how much I would be spending in this place if I was treated decently. Classic example of what is meant by "penny-wise and pound foolish". And after I got home I realized they are using noticeably smaller chickens than they always had. So you get less for more money and they don't appreciate you as a customer. Not a recipe for a success business. read more

My girlfriend did not enjoy the yucca fries or the plantains. I placed my order and asked for a receipt and left the restaurant. The lady was basically ringing up my order and another guys order at the same time and I knew she was going to make a mistake. Once I got to my destination, I realized that I was overcharged!!! I ordered a 1/4 chicken meal, two extra sides and a can soda. The soda was $1.55 and I was charged $2.25. After I got off work...I decided to go get my $.70. The manager went back and forth with me about it claiming that $1.55 plus tax was $1.86!!! Ugh, WHERE?!?!? I didn't even argue when he handed me ONLY $.50!!! After this incident I decided to never visit this restaurant or chain of restaurants again!!! I also realized other reviews have been treated this way as well!!! read more

I gave this place a rare 5 stars in my earlier review but I had a very unpleasant experience several weeks ago. along with my to go chicken order I purchased a side of black beans. the server did not secure the top very well and by the time I reach home the beans had spilled everywhere, in my car, then all over my kitchen counter and all over the rest of the order. I can forgive this mistake and this would not be a big deal, but I called to to politely advise them of the error. the person answering the phone was obviously the one who made the error and when I explained the problem I got no response. Not "sorry sir" or anything like that. So I asked to speak to the manager and was told he wasn't there and left my name and number. I called the next day after not getting a call Bottom line is that I called no less than 5 time and a manager was never present at the time I was told he/she would be. So I went in when I was nearby a week or so later and asked for the manager. the same server told me "just a minute, I will get him" and she then came out and said the wasn't there. Seems to me that there is no management presence in this restaurant and that the staff and the management was entirely ducking their responsibility. The incident with the beans was not the main issue. Stuff like that happens, but the poor training of staff and the lack of management interest in hearing about my complaint is what prompts me to write this unfavorable review. I will not return as a matter of principle, even though the food is darn good. read more

Don't waste your time or money if you want good service, a clean restaurant or good quality food. My husband and I decided to try this place instead of going all the way to Bowie to Sardis. Boy was that a mistake. I ordered Greek salad, fries and plantains. My husband ordered ceviche, blackbeans and plantains . The plantains were slimy and soft. The fries were edible but nothing special. Salad was okay. Had to ask for 4 dressings since they don't even fill each cup halfway full. Husband said the ceviche was okay. The worst part was when we left we coughed up so much mucous it was disgusting. For a good 10 minutes we were clearing our throats of phlem! That is the sign of low quality mucous producing food. That has never happened to us at Sardi's. We will never go back. read more
