Went back to give this restaurant a second chance and it was worse. Stay home or eat somewhere else!!

Went for "brunch". Had a crew of 9. They set us up outside. One of the hands was VERY sweet and set up 3 umbrellas for us. BUT we sat outside for 15 minutes before our waitress came up to us. We ordered bottomless mimosas, the waitress was EXTREMELY accommodating (shoutout HER). The food was okay. Very limited brunch menu. We went inside to have some more drinks. There was not a soul inside. But we got kicked out for being too loud. Our group was very respectful. The bartender was very sweet. No one complained. But the second that my friend laughed a little loud, we got kicked out. We will not be returning. Overrated and killers of fun. read more

This is an honest review and not emotional. Service was great, food timely, friendly staff and clean establishment. Let's get to the food: *Appetizer Meatballs- 2 over cooked and dry meatballs. Sauce with onion and tomato was excellent but meatballs were poorly made. $12 for two poorly made meatballs *Entree Chicken Parmesiana- chicken way over cooked and very dry and lacking an appropriate portion of cheese. Sauce was good and pasta is pasta not house made. A fancy $28 for this dish left lacking and not worth it. *Evening Special "Blackened Scallops"- 4 correctly cooked decent sized scallops, seasoned for blackening but not truly blackened for whatever reason they were barely golden and not seared at all. Fresh Scallops!!! Not frozen, served with snap peas and sautéed tomato and onion. This was a very light meal at a whopping $38. Although this dish was good, it left me hungry. 4 Scallops is not worth $38 for any reason, especially when blackened scallops are not blackened. Desert: Mint chocolate chip ice cream, fresh ingredients with real mint and chopped dark chocolate. $9 okay pricing for the exceptional quality. Chocolate cake with raspberry sauce- unimpressive to say the least. Cake was dry and supplemented by what looked like raspberry "juice" not "sauce". Cake seemed old and dry like it sat out for a little to long. Over all I spent $100 for the meal. 5 star prices for 3 star food. I won't return for food like this for a price like that. Do not go here if you have tickets to a play and expect to have dinner and be at the play on time. We had 5pm reservations, we showed up promptly. Ordered right around 5:15. 6pm rolls around and we still don't have our food. We did receive a salad very quickly, as well as the calamari and a cocktail. We asked our server were our food was. He went to check and never came back! We never even heard from s manager, not once. 6:05pm we stood up and walked out. Thank god Halls is open late and is more than willing to feed the starving masses. The salad was good, not spectacular. The calamari was light and crisp with tasteless marinara. This is our second and last time going to this establishment. And what a shame, we would love to eat here as we live right around the corner. read more

Note to self, when you read Yelp reviews pay ATTENTION! I read the reviews and the reviews and they were either very good or very bad. Where there extremes, go with bad ones!! We arrived early for dinner. Of course the restaurant was empty. We got starters, fine. I ordered lemon butter sauce pasta with shrimp. My wife got baked pasta. The lemon butter pasta was so bland, the pasta also lacked taste. We had to ask for bread and were told that it just cause out of the oven. ?What Italian restaurant doesn't serve bread? When the bread came it was cold and stale. Bottom line for a $70 meal it was less than mediocre? Overpriced, mediocre food. Don't bother.! read more

Brilliant!! My mom, sister & I all went out for dinner before seeing the Ballet at the Peace Center. So for location alone, 5 stars. We started off with drinks and since we were there for an early dinner before the show, it was still happy hour. ($4 off specialty cocktails) We got a Limoncello 75 (very good, very tart) and another Margerita-esque drink that I'm blanking in the name. (Tequila & limoncello with a spicy salt rim ). FANTASTIC We started off with the Antipasto Piatti (charcuterie). Great board, nice cheeses and a great array of meats, olives, bruschetta. Between the 3 of us, we got a few dishes to split and taste for entrees. My mom got the Pasta Fagiole (get a cup, not a bowl- very filling), my sister got the Caprese Salad, and I got the Pine Nut & Gorgonzola Salad (absolutely phenomenal) We then shared Prosciutto Wrapped Scallops & the Salmon Piccata. Both so so good. The sauce that is on the Salmon Piccata was so light yet rich. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, we were way too full to try a dessert. This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in downtown Greenville! I am a huge pasta lover and they know how to make some killer pasta here. Their classic shrimp Alfredo is amazing! Their limoncello is the perfect amount of sour and sweet. If you are ever wanting a good dinner place or stopping through Greenville you have to eat here! It is expensive but so worth it! read more

Pretty bad experience, was there for a total of two hours. Waited forever. Chicken Marsala in the background was awful 5 mushrooms total, small chicken, looks nothing like any of the other photos on here. Wine in the sauce was not reduced at all. Bolagnaese is deceiving in looks, noodles were severely over cooked and all the food was cold. Waitress was extremely slow. Manager was nice but food was such a let down. Will not go back ever again. Was overall pretty impressed with the food and dining experience at Limoncello. Our server was super friendly, which is always good going to a new restaurant. My husband and I were out celebrating our Anniversary. For our first course we ordered the Bruchetta, which I was actually disappointed with. I had bigger expectations of it, the bread choice that they used was too clunky and dense for my liking. I felt like I could taste the fumes of the grill, on the soggy/cold bread. A thinner crostini would have been much better. But the tomato salad on top was dynamite. We actually had it boxed to take home. Second course, I ordered the Chicken Marsala, and I really enjoyed it. I cleaned the whole plate. Two very small complaints though, the mushrooms were almost nonexistent and the dish overall was lacking in salt. Although the pancetta was a nice touch, for salt. My husband ordered the Spaghetti Meatballs, we were expecting more from the meatballs.. they didn't have a whole lot of flavor and they were a little on the dry side. Third course, our server brought us out a Cannoli for our Anniversary. Super thoughtful and we really enjoyed it. The sweet ricotta filling was delicious with all the added chocolate bits. I went here with my family and asked how they would rate this place. 2 stars come from averaging what 6 people in my family rated this restaurant. Service was pretty good but we were there on Monday night when the restaurant was dead so I would expect the service to be on point. Food was disappointing. If they charge as much they do, at least you would expect pastas to be freshly made. But they were not. Tomato sauce didn't taste anything special - most likely a store-bought type of bulk sauce. Lasagna was okay - it was bland at its best. Chicken parmesan which was $23 was a little piece of chicken and side of store bought spaghetti. It was definitely over priced and chicken was too dry. Fish tasted/smelled too fishy which made us wondering how fresh it was. Pizza with chicken and mushroom wasn't bad but nothing too great about it. Fried calamari wasn't bad. Probably best thing we ordered but then, how hard is it to mess up fried calamaris? Last but not least, we went there to celebrate one of my mother-in-law's birthday. When we hinted the server about it, she didn't provide any service. No mini dessert, no whatever, nothing. In the past whenever we go out in downtown Greenville, it was always pleasure how the restaurants took care of their guests that came for a birthday celebration. Even a glass of wine would count but I guess Limoncello doesn't care about Southern hospitality. I believe that Larkin's has a certain name brand in Greenville and if this is Larkin's run Italian restaurant, it's gotta be better than this. This place is only good to have some drinks and an appetizer. No more than that. And still then, only go here with your close friend or family member who you wouldn't feel embarrased to bring to a mediocre restaurant. read more

Ugh, the food here is just SO gross The atmosphere is amazing, especially the outdoor seating, and the drinks are great but every item I've tasted on the menu is just a big miss for me. The worst thing I've had was the 'Caesar salad'. It's just an entire stalk of Romain lettuce cut in half and then smothered with their caesar dressing. The dressing has a very strange taste but the worst part is they include sardines on the plate as well. It was just such a turn off. I brought some out of town friends here because they wanted good Italian. It was a let down. The waiter was over worked. Half our drinks (non alcoholic) didn't come until the entree did. Garlic knots were good. Marinara is great. Spaghetti and meatballs were only decent. Had to ask for more marinara due to hardly getting any. Meatballs were dry. I recently had a quick meal at the bar. Other than the perfunctionary "hi" from the bartender when I sat down, not one other person said a single word to me. No "thanks for coming", "did you enjoy your meal", "thank you", or even a "good night" as I walked past the hostess as I exited the door. First, all health and safety precautions seemed to be working. This was our first visit (celebrating our 20th Anniversary), and we were extremely satisfied. The outdoor piazza was an amazing place to eat, especially as the sun was going down. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, as well as other staff that checked on our satisfaction throughout the meal. We had a Caesar salad and chicken marsala. We were first given lunch menus but I guess the chef was ready to move on. The prices were much better on the lunch menu so that might be a great time to test out a few dishes. The pasta here was absolutely phenomenal. We got the pappardelle bolognese as well as the carbonara and they were extremely delicious. The carbonara was very well made in which it was not too saucy and there was still an egg taste to it. They gave a generous amount of meat sauce for the bolognese which we absolutely loved. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The restaurant itself was beautiful yet still causal which is what we wanted. The gelato wasn't good but that's the only bad part about the place. It tasted more like Italian ice than gelato. It wasn't very creamy at all. But I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good Italian restaurant in the city. read more

Very mediocre Italian. At the risk of sounding tacky, just don't go here. My husband and I came for our anniversary and while the drinks were good (limoncello and a maker's mark cocktail) the salads and entrees were all very bland. I ordered the chopped salad and sausage lasagna while my husband ordered the grilled caesar and carbonara. The carbonara was basically fettuccini alfredo. We were pretty impressed with this Italian joint! It definitely features Americanized dishes versus authentic Italian, but they execute well and offer a large selection of unique items. We started off with cocktails.. I tried a Unicorn Tolerance and a Limoncello. The Unicorn Tolerance was not overly sweet and had the perfect hint of strawberry. The limoncello was tart and lemony. I would come back for drinks alone!! Our server then brought out bread and olive oil.. The oil had a delicious flavor, and my boyfriend swears he would drink it. The bread was served warm and melted in my mouth. So yummy. Next we had a grilled romaine Caesar salad. This was a hearty salad covered in Parmesan cheese, white anchovy sauce, and balsamic vinegar. A different taste than your typical Caesar! For dinner, I had the sausage lasagna and he had the carbonara. The lasagna was a huge portion, with hefty amounts of ricotta, sauce, sausage, and cheese. It could have used a little more spice but overall was good. The carbonara was a small portion and some bites had an overly nutty taste. We would pass on this dish next time. We completed our meal with two scoops of gelato. They were sweet and satisfying! Ambience was upscale and service was top notch. It was busy on a Saturday evening, so I would recommend making a reservation. Parking was available in the lot next door for $5. We will be back! read more

The atmosphere was gorgeous, place settings upscale, mocktail was super, so we were really excited about the food. The antipasto salad was ok, the dressing seemed bottled with some fresh herbs sprinkled in, prefer Good Seasons packet to this. There was minced meat, which was good, but it was instead of large slices of cheese and meat. There were no olives, no artichokes, no red peppers...staples of real Italian antipasto. It tasted pretty good, but no wow factor. We split an entree and the salad, mostly because of the $7 extra on the entree to add a side salad. At the cost of almost $30 for an entree, you have to pay extra for a side salad. There was also no crusty bread, as was expected. The eggplant was just ok and the pasta vodka sauce was watery and sad. We decided that we prefer Olive Garden. We know running a restaurant is hard work and you can't please everyone. It just seemed like the food should match everything else and no cutting corners on side salad and no bread. You should go try it out because you might love it for the location, great outdoor seating, overall ambiance and what seems like a very good bar. read more

We came here for a midday graduation meal as a party of 9. They had our table ready as soon as we arrived. Rose, our server, was supremely attentive and provided some excellent menu recommendations. Two of us had the Spring Forward cocktail with a grapefruit base which was so refreshing. Everyone enjoyed their meals which included the meatball pizza, meatball grinder, salmon piccata, and you pick two with the pine nut and gorgonzola salad. As a surprise to our entire party, the restaurant gifted our graduate with a signed card and cannoli dessert. Even with the decor and ambiance, it can be enjoyed for both a dressy or casual.
