My wife and I ate here for brunch today. Our waitress - the saving grace of the experience - was as nice as she could be. However, it took over 1/2 an hour to even be able to place an order because the restaurant was so understaffed. I get that this is an issue for a lot of service industries and am willing to chill on expectations, up to a point. However, when it takes 15-20 minutes to get something from the bar it becomes borderline ridiculous. 30 minutes after placing the order for our main courses (both of which were recommended by our server), the poor girl came back to inform us that they were out of the main ingredient for one of our dishes. So, my wife and I decided to split her dish between us in the interest of time. When we finally got the Chicken Risotto, the (bone-in) chicken breast was overdone and the risotto was below room temperature. We got a replacement dish and it was definitely edible. By edible, I mean that it was about the level I can make at home if I decided to baptize my food in garlic while overcooking my chicken breast. The couple next to us sat for 15 minutes without anyone even taking their drink orders and then gave up on the restaurant and left without anyone even noticing. We never saw a manager, but I can understand why they were probably not wanting to interact with any customers. However, to send your waitress out to bear the brunt of your mismanagement seems fairly cowardly. There are so many great places to eat in Greenville that I'm not even remotely tempted to give this place another try. read more

I had the pleasure of dining at Limoncello prior to an event at the Peace Center which is surprising a close walk. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The dining area up front was pretty full but our area in the back was bright and not crowded. We enjoyed our server who was really friendly and helpful with what as popular on the menu. What impressed me the most however was how often the manager stopped by to ask us how are meal was going. He joked with us a few times and just made the entire meal feel like you knew they cared about the experience of their diners. We got the lunch special, a kids meal, and one of the weekend brunch options. The kids Mac and cheese was enormous and very good! It was more like a fettuccine Alfredo but with extra cheese baked on top. The lunch special included Caesar salad, a meatball, garlic knots, fettuccine Alfredo, and sauce to dip your garlic knots in. I thought it was a perfect amount of food although I would have liked a bit more Alfredo sauce so I used the extra they gave for dipping. I highly recommend their drink specials. They were very light and refreshing for a spring or summer day. The last meal was their French toast on the special brunch menu. It was very decadent and rich. We really enjoyed the flavors. It was definitely a more dessert type of dish. Overall I'm looking forward to returning for their expressive dinner menu. read more

I feel like this is such a treat to have in downtown Greenville. The ambience right from when you step onto the property outside brings you in the beautiful courtyard with amazing outside patio seats invites you right inside. Once you walk in you're greeted by a beautiful gelato cart and other desserts. We were able to right away to our table. The ambience is really nice with the bar in the middle and different areas to sit in. we sat in the back and we got there around 6:30 on a Thursday night was not crowded and was attended to right away. crafts of water were already on the table and we ordered drinks and appetizers. The food was an amazing portion for the price, and the drinks were strong with a delicious flavor. I got the pizza, which was a great size for a personal and easy to take home for leftovers the next day. My partner got the pasta, which was a good portion. My wife and I went for dinner yesterday, which was a Wednesday night. We had reservations but got there early and sat with no issues. It took a bit more time then we expected for the time of day and the waitress came over and she was nice. We ordered an appetizer of garlic knots and then our main course of Veal Marsala for me and my wife had chicken parm. Lets say the best part of the meal were the garlic knots. My veal marsala wasnt good at all. The veal was WAY to thick, like a steak and very tough. Veal should be pounded and tenderized, not thick and tough. I could barely get my knife through it. My wifes chicken parm was just ok with the sauce being somewhat spicy which wasnt expected. The pricing and value was so so, with veal marsala at $30 which i think is on the high side. The chicken parm at $27. On the way out my wife wanted a cannoli and only wanted 1 but was told they only sold two at a time. Why? A friend and I recently took a day trip to Greenville, SC for our spring break getaway. We came here one night for dinner and really enjoyed this restaurant overall. The food was excellent, I ordered the Creamy Tuscan Chicken Pasta and my friend got the Saltimbocca Pizza for her entree. The pasta was very creamy and cooked to perfection, the chicken was also tasty and not dry which is a plus. My friend loved the pizza, it was exactly what she wanted and she is a picky eater so that's saying something. We also ordered Garlic Knots for our appetizer and they were some of the best garlic knots we've had. They were soft, warm, and you could easily pull them apart (as they should be). They had a great amount of garlic to them, it wasn't over the top like some places do and they give you alfredo & marina dipping sauces with it. We both got the Limoncello 75 cocktail, it was quite tart and refreshing. Tasted just like a lemon drop martini which is what I wanted. The service was wonderful, our waitress was attentive to our every need and very helpful on giving us recommendations on what to order! The ambiance in this restaurant is nice as well, very relaxed overall and the front patio is very pretty with a lot of seating. Our server, Daisy, was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu and knew all the recommendations. She recommended the chicken pizza (which was a white sauce) and omg it was AMAZING. Wow, the food and drinks here were amazing! Hubby and I were walking around downtown and headed over to the outside seating for a snack. My raspberry limoncello and his honey cosmo were well made. The service and our server were wonderful. The ambience was alright, pretty loud and lots of loud chatter. We got sat near the kitchen doors as well so there was always people walking by. The meatballs were better but not by much. This isn't the worst Italian I have had but by far not the best. Went to Limoncello the second year in a row for my daughter's birthday. The experience delivered, but it was a bit uneven. First off, we were there for Prosecco Tuesday. 5 of our party ordered two prosecco's for a total of $25. It is a fantastic deal. The atmosphere there is fun. The interior is open and welcoming and we had a great time celebrating the birthday in our party of 6. We ordered arancini (fried, stuffed risotto balls) to start and an order of the garlic knots. They brought out an order of the fried cheese instead of the arancini, but they quickly fired up the order and brought it out. They also let us keep the fried cheese and took it off the bill. All the appetizers were delicious. Crisp and flavorful with tasty sauces. For the main courses, I ordered the shrimp prosecco, my wife and daughter ordered the Eggplant parm napolean and there were two roast chicken dishes ordered. All of the meals were great. One minor point is that the pasta for most of their dishes is really thin spaghetti - capellini. It will tend to clump together, especially if there is a cream sauce. The shrimp in the prosecco shrimp were cooked perfectly and very tasty, but the pasta was a bit clumpy. Still a dish I will order again (and I did since I had ordered it last year too). I had a bite of the eggplant parm and it was very good too. For dessert, my daughter had a cannoli for free since it was her birthday. We also ordered the almond cake, tiramisu and the zabaglione. They were all excellent. I mentioned earlier that the dinner was a bit uneven. The wrong app was delivered and a couple of choices for dessert weren't available and that seemed to make the waiter a bit uneasy. It was a very nice meal and we had a wonderful time for the second year in a row and we'll go back in the Spring and Summer on a Tuesday for the Prosecco Special when we can sit outside. And the app was taken off the bill and we were given an extra cannoli to take home, so they went above and beyond our expectations. It really deserves 4.5 stars and I wish we could rate in increments. Not everything will be smooth during a dinner, but when it didn't - they made it so it didn't impact our enjoyment. read more

My girlfriends brought me here for dessert and drinks and it was delicious! Walking up to the door in the evening is an experience on its own. The Italian garden styled plants mixed in along the outside seating under the glowing Limoncello sign is lush. There's an outside fireplace nook in the corner to lounge near along with a fountain. The interior is open, clean, and beautiful. There's also a private dining wine room section. We were greeted and seated and selected a tiramisu and chocolate cake with cherry gelato with some recommendations from the server. Both desserts were amazing! So flavorful, rich, and creamy. I would definitely recommend both and while I'm not a cherry fan, this cherry gelato was wonderful because it's made with real dark cherries! The limoncello drink is spectacular too. So disappointed! I went there a few years ago and loved everything about it! I finally took my husband there today on a lunch date, and the service was slow and awful! It was 10 minutes before anyone came to our table to greet us with water. Then, after another 10 min, the server finally came over to take our order. She seemed annoyed that she had another table and gave the vibe that she didn't want to be there. They were not busy, but it still took 30 min to get our food. I ordered the pepperoni pizza roll sandwich, and the kitchen forgot to put marinara on it. Attention to detail with food and beverage was seriously lacking and this is supposed to be a Larkins Restaurant? I get a lot of restaurants are short handed these days, but even the attitudes of their employees sucked. What happened to standards? We typically start off tipping 20% and the server can work their way up or down in percentage. She obviously didn't receive the best tip, and the funny thing about that is... she probably thought we were just crappy tippers instead of realizing that it was a reflection of her poor service and attitude. We loved the outdoor atmosphere, but we won't be back. There are too many other places in Greenville to go to than to give them another try! So, this place has an amazing Happy Hour, 3-6, Monday-Thursday. Sitting outside on a beautiful day at this place is heaven. The food is top notch. Get the limoncello, to be sure. It reminded me of my summer days of drinking it every day in Europe. Did I mention that lemon cake???? I think its called limocetta cake. And they are proud of their meatballs 2 for $13? The buratta salad with heirloom tomatoes was also fresh, but a small appetizer was $13?? The gelato was flavorful but a bit grainy and not smooth like it should be. My wife and I came here for our 20th wedding anniversary. Parking is convenient as there is a multilevel parking garage across the street. When we arrived the host took us right away to a table and even filled a last minute request to sit outdoors (which by the way there are lots of tables outside). Our waitress was super helpful. From suggesting specific items to delivering our food really quick. The price is a bit higher than to be expected but most restaurants downtown GVL you will expect to pay a bit higher.
