The chicken on the chicken Parm was burned. The sauce was considerably worse than Prego. There are lots of places in Greenville that are so much better for half the price. I'm visiting from the Seattle area and I thoroughly enjoyed my time and service at Limoncello in Greenville. My servers name was Amber E, she could not have been more polite or attentive. I ordered the Strawberry Fizz with the first server who greeted me but Amber came to tell me they didn't have what they needed to make it. I came here for my aunts birthday. We had a large group of people eating dinner with us. I feel like that plays a part in the experience I had here at Limoncello. Our food took over an hour to come out, and we ended up being at the restaurant for 2 hours total. By the time our food came out, it was cold and the Alfredo was very thick and chunky almost. I will say that our waiter was absolutely amazing and busted his butt to take care of everyone. The food was not great but I would like to re try this place with a smaller party and maybe I'll have a different experience. My wife and I came here for our 20th wedding anniversary. Parking is convenient as there is a multilevel parking garage across the street. When we arrived the host took us right away to a table and even filled a last minute request to sit outdoors (which by the way there are lots of tables outside). Our waitress was super helpful. From suggesting specific items to delivering our food really quick. The price is a bit higher than to be expected but most restaurants downtown GVL you will expect to pay a bit higher. We went with a group for a friend's birthday and had a great time, the food was spot on and the vibes were fantastic. HOWEVER, I got home that evening and woke up in incredible pain. After rethinking what I ordered and scouring back through the menu I noticed what it may have been: I ordered a mocktail, titled "Collins Amythest". There is also a regular cocktail called "Limoncello Gin Collins". Both contain similar flavors of ingredients. Long story short, the server messed up my order and gave me the cocktail instead. This would have been fine, except New Amsterdam gin is not safe to consume for someone with a gluten allergy (me) and I'm currently not drinking alcohol for other health reasons. When I realized this in the middle of the night, I was HOT! I called yesterday afternoon to verify that this is what happened, as I did not receive an itemized check and couldn't tell myself, and spoke with a kind young man who was able to do some digging and that's exactly what happened. Again, I was livid, but he was very kind. He completed "a claim" and said a GM would be in touch with me for more information. Said GM has not reached out. I hate to be "that person" but this has me so upset. If someone with a more severe allergy, or heaven forbid a pregnant person, was given this mix up things would have been so much worse. We made reservations for inside as outside was not an option. When we arrived we were given a choice of seating and chose outside. The seating area is lovely with AstroTurf, plantings, and fountains. We selected bruschetta as our appetizer with Prosecco and Chianti as beverages. Everything was delicious. I ordered chicken involtini and my husband ordered pappardelle bolognese. My risotto cake was more like a potato cake but was still very tasty even though my chicken was so dry I did not recognize the prosciutto. Still tasty however. The hubs found no fault and enjoyed his dish. We also had chocolate cake and tiramisu for dessert. Skip the tiramisu and have the cake or one of the afters drinks. Really wish I had. Limoncello was a good atmosphere, the staff were friendly and attentive. My wife enjoyed a cocktail made with their homemade limoncello. I really liked the seafood pasta and she had the meat sauce pasta. Overall, it was fine, but slightly overpriced and no breadsticks. We probably won't go back, Olive Garden would be about the same quality with better salad and bigger portions. Sidenote: it was GVL Restaurant Week and their "deal" was only a dollar or two cheaper than buying the individual items. read more

My daughter and I decided to go to Limoncello for an aperol spritz and a snack. We visited on Friday, August 4, 2023. We were greeted at the hostess stand and we're immediately taken outside to a cozy table for two. Angela waited on us and was quick to greet us, get us our drinks, and our food. The drink was fabulous but the highlight was the Italian chopped salad. It was big enough for two, fresh, with multiple colors of cherry tomatoes and the dressing was wonderful. It was made with Maker's Mark whiskey and house made limoncello plus a rinse of Laphroaig scotch. It was yummy...the scotch didn't over power the drink but just gave it a hint of smokiness. We ordered a few different appetizer plates of the scallops wrapped in prosciutto, calamari, and the anti pasto. All very delicious and tasty. For dessert, our server surprised us with tiramisu and espresso gelato. I think those were my favorite part of our meal :) Our server was very knowledgeable about wines and he made a bottle suggestion of a great red wine. While out on a leisurely stroll, looking for a lunch location we came across Limoncello. We decided to stop in on a sunny Saturday afternoon to sample their scrumptious selections. And let me tell ya, the food didn't disappoint. I ordered the Italiano panini and it was incredible. The sandwich was perfectly toasted and heated throughly. The meat wasn't too greasy and the motz was melted right on the money. The sandwich was supposed to come with a side of pasta salad but they ran out so they subbed in an Italian side salad. The only thing that dropped limoncello in my book was our server's trainer. At first it seemed like a normal shadow session, the trainer introduced himself and told us the situation. The server came over with the trainer and told us about the menu and everything they had to offer. It seemed like he did a good job but before they left the table the server comes down on him saying everything he did wrong and takes over table. So I saw this place on Yelp and how good it looked so we opted to try it out for a late lunch. Upon walking in, we were greeted and seated immediately. The guy that seated us and another server came up to our table shortly after. Turns out the guy that first seated us was training for a server position, and as the other server put it oddly he was just there to make sure he got it right. The trainee began giving us the low down and we started with drinks. I guess he didn't do a good enough job to the other server since he took right over and went into a long spiel. I think short and sweet was best since we really knew what we wanted and didn't have any questions. Once our order arrived, they asked if we wanted any parm. I mean I love cheese so of course I opted for some. I felt bad because the trainee seemed nervous and some went on the table, so I can only imagine he got a word about that. At least it wasn't in front of the guests this time. We really didn't see the trainee much after that and the server was a little intense and seemed to take over any way. Overall, the food was good. The service was okay overall, just seemed a little odd throughout. Oh and that panini I tried was so good. The pasta was good but the sandwiches seemed to be their strong point. We've lived in the area for 3 years and kept telling ourselves we needed to try Limoncello, and we finally did. Staff were friendly and attentive and food was good, not particularly special. We had the antipasto board, which was nice and filling, and shared the Italian chopped salad and meatball appetizer for dinner. That combo, complemented by a couple glasses of a nice Corvina, filled us nicely, and was good but, again, not particularly overwhelming. If we hadn't had pizza the night before we would likely have tried one of the pizzas, and we'll do that when we return, which we'll do.
