On a frosty day, you go for a walk. You want a gigantic sandwich. I got the goodfella. Prosciutto, pastrami , and salami. Best part is the fresh basil. Think Italiano. The sandwich was huge. I ate my half. Two hours later I ate the other half. It was calling me to finish it. The after effects is downing lots of liquids. I'm not sure it is the salt content. I've been drinking liquids since. Service? One person. But the sandwich came out quick. Too cold to sit outside and eat. Can't wait for summer to try out their Gelato.

Ordering was quick, no line on a weekday at noon. Waited 5-10 mins for sandwich to be made. I'm not sure if you have to special request the bread because I wasn't asked, though they do have different bread selection you can pick from. I didn't realize until after I ordered but it's ok I'll try whatever it comes with. Plenty of tables with or without umbrellas to stay shaded. Easy to meet up a friend for casual lunch Their other locations are very well rated. I don't know if my experience was possibly different at this location because it's still relatively new? Food- The Cuban Sandwich $17 - big and meaty, many layers of meat. Roast beef, ham, tomato, pepperoncini. It was decent. Friend and I both felt it could've tasted better with some sauce (or possibly oil) for extra flavor. There wasn't any sauce in both of our sandwiches. I was full eating half then took the other half home

I heard many great things about this place and wanted to stopped by on a Thursday for lunch. There was no line! We got the veggie and special sandwiches. Both were huge and very fresh. The meat to vegetable ratio was good. The bread tasted great. The place is small but the outdoor patio is super cute.

Oh, it felt like eating in the open-air patios with outdoor seating in Europe! It was pleasant with sunny weather next to a nice, green park. The umbrellas give a fine, Mediterranean touch with its yellow color choice. It was a no-frills stand that was super popular, I can imagine, for lunch during the weekdays. The sandwiches are phenomenal, and I was rushed through the wormhole tunnel right to Italy. The sandwiches was quite big, and I especially like the thick layer of fresh greens. Then the amount of meat was perfect as it was packed with flavor. Prosciutto, hot coppa, And salami were packed with thick slices of fresh mozzarella. I.e., this sandwich was well balanced. This was Especiale good!

Lasagna with bolognese was okay, serving was too small for the price, the top part of the lasagna was burnt and crispy smh. I paid $23 with a regular water. I was a little disappointed with the service as according to the person who took my order, he did not know the password for the WiFi. It has an outdoor seating and background music was playing. It didn't feel welcoming and the tables were dirty.

Limoncello has a new location at Civic Center! It was a perfect place to get lunch during jury duty. They have great sandwiches and other things like salad, pizza, lasagna, gelato, and coffee. It's a booth at Civic Center Plaza, they do takeout and have outdoor seating only. On a nice day, it's a good place to have lunch. Despite being a smaller location, their food tastes the same as the larger Limoncello locations. I got the mafioso which had prosciutto, turkey, mortadella, and bacon! It was $21 with tip but it was huge with a good amount of meat. A good Italian sandwich! I ate half for lunch and saved the other half for later.

Stopped by here for a sandwich after the pride parade. Their food is always delicious. Great for people watching too.

Rompiballe Sandwich: Beef Meatballs w/ spicy red wine marinara sauce, black pepper, melted provolone | $16.95

3.5 STARS How do you like your balls? I like mine between two toasted buns. Well, a toasted roll because I'm Team Toasted. I saw that Limoncello opened their third location at Civic Center Plaza near work. It was my first time visiting a Limoncello location but I know they're hyped and one of the most highly rated sandwich shops in the city (their other two locations have 4.8 stars). I wanted a hot sandwich so I ordered the Rompiballe Sandwich: Beef Meatballs w/ spicy red wine marinara sauce, black pepper, melted provolone ($16.95): https://tinyurl.com/y8ck96fb When I think of a solid meatball sub, I think of juicy meatballs smothered in marinara sauce with stretchy cheese in-between warm toasted bread. Given the hype, the Rompiballe was disappointing. While there was a good amount of meatballs, they were either overworked and/or had too much binder because they were on the dry, dense side. Nice tang from the sauce (not spicy) but def needed more sauce for flavor and moisture. One tiny floss string cheese pull. The soft ciabatta roll was untoasted resulting in the lack of a textural element. I ate the meatballs and tossed the bread. I later found out that they'll only toast the bread if you request it. Good to know! OTHER NOTES: * Array of sandwiches ($14.95-$16.95), salads ($13.95 + $3 for protein), whole pizza ($18.95), and lasagna or eggplant parm ($14.95). Coffee + tea available. * Takeout only with outdoor seating. Picnic tables and café tables are fenced from the public. Only some are shaded. I sat at a table with a front view of city hall and the lawn which was pleasant. No one bothered me. * Friendly cashier. With no line, my order took 10 minutes. * No restroom.

Looks like there's a new occupant at at kiosk in the civic center. This must be the third business to pick up the challenge. I ordered a chicken salad. It was ok. No frills. It didn't even come with a piece of bread. Menu is a tad expensive for eating in the city's toilet. Service was prompt. You can try to eat at one of the outside tables but why?

My first time was exquisite. I ordered the BLT on wheat. It was filled with crispy crunchy bacon and veggies. Give it a try.

Very first visit. I stopped after morning walk for a cappuccino and Caesar salad with avocado. Something unrecognizable in salad. I live only few blocks away may return for money back

What a beautiful park area to dine out in, it was a beautiful moderate 62° day with full sunshine perfect for eating outside and feeling the warm sun perfect the it was easy to order and the staff are extremely friendly. The food was excellent! The lasagna I need to try one more time because it may be my favorite quick eats for lasagna in San Francisco. There is allot on the menu I need to go back and look at like pizza and the sandwiches ! The ambience was so on point and the tables were filled over time .

Update: I came back for another day of my jury duty service. This time, I ordered a green salad with anchovies and roasted vegetables. The anchovies were too salty for my taste. However, the service was excellent! I gave Mattia the cashier a $2 tip for his nice smile and good service from previous visits. It was somewhat of a rainy day and I was pleasantly surprised when Mattie's coworker put my salad in a bag--free of charge. He also added avocado to my salad free of charge. Thank you Limoncello staff for going the extra mile and making my day!

Ordered and walked out in the span of 10 min. Very italian deli with tiramisus and cannolis. Tons of italian snacks and puff pastries, and a convenient location to pickup anything from beers/wines to premade cannoli shells and gelato. One thing to note is you cannot customize the sandwich, not sure about the pizzas, which smelled delicious. They only make speciality sandwiches on their menu, but surely can't go wrong with any of the choices. They're packed with a sizeable amount of meat as well as greens. The half was enough to fill me up and they were kind enough to wrap them separately.

This is probably the only place where the sandwiches don't taste like the store's essence…read more I mean, don't get me wrong, a store's essence from any given deli/liquor store definitely adds unique character to the sandwich and sometimes I want that in a sandwich. But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Service is good and ambiance is a small humble shop on the corner of 12th Ave.

Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.

There are other very influential sandwiches at different places in San Francisco but there is a place serving sandwiches with a Korean twist. It also is the main inspiration for a sandwich place in Brooklyn, New York called Mission Social sandwiches. It's located in the Mission District on Valencia street and it's called Rhea Deli & Market. On a Summer stroll in my old stomping grounds I landed at Rhea Deli on Valencia street. Inside you will find lots of bottles of alcohol which usually comes in handy as Rhea Market is a pit stop to load up or re-up on adult drinks to take to Dolores Park. This is the place also to get sandwiches and pair with salty chips like some in SF. They have sandwiches named after famous San Francisco Giants players like the Panda and The Freak #55 which has kimchi. I got the Buster Posey #28 and it had delicious pastrami and packed lots of flavors. It was a bit cheesy like some in SF. Don't forget to grab a bottle of your favorite drink and for me it's the Pinot Noir for Don Juan Pinot Noir and head towards Dolores Park. Make sure you" go " and take a Summer Mission "stroll" and try the Church street a name of a veggie chicken sandwich served on an acme organic " roll " and get it popping with a sandwich with jalapeño poppers called the "Marilyn Monroe" Come to Rhea Deli for some food and get some "alcohol"and make it a trip to the Mission during the four seasons of Spring, Summer, Winter, and "Fall"make sure you don't "stall "because they may run out of the sandwich called the "Booty Call "

They only had one size back then. Yesterday, I got a medium, but the only thing medium was the length of the bread. What was in between the bread(meat, veggies, condiments), could have fit in a small. My sandwich was empty. Lastly #3. Weighing the meat?! WTH! Old Roxie's just made the sandwich. Eyeballed it.
