Jerry's Roast Pork has been on my places to try list for a while, but I purposely waited for the initial hype wave to pass so I wouldn't contend with lines or sold‑out sandwiches. My strategy paid off as I finally made the trip and swung by around 11:30 a.m. on a weekday and walked right in with zero wait. I went straight for the classic, garlic roast pork with braised broccoli rabe on a seeded hoagie roll, and I am glad to report that it's everything I hoped it would be. The roast pork is incredibly juicy and seasoned to garlicky and herbaceous perfection. The braised broccoli rabe adds a lovely textural contrast and a touch of pleasant bitterness that cuts through the richness, while the seeded hoagie roll has a satisfying chew and just enough structure to hold it all together. That said, this is very much an "eat it here or a very short walk away" sandwich; the bread slowly soaks up the juices and will start to break down if you take too long before digging in. I went in expecting something heavy, but I was pleasantly surprised by how light it felt given the ingredients and found the portion to be just right. I'm not sure if I would choose it over the version at Palm City Wines, but it's firmly in the same tier as a top‑notch, crave‑worthy roast pork hoagie that's well worth an early‑lunch pilgrimage in FiDi. Also, bonus points for the super friendly staff and the generous amount of outdoor seating nearby (in case one is unaware if you go to the 2nd level of Embarcadero Center there is a walkway/promenade that connects all of the plazas with loads of outdoor tables and seating throughout).

Went to school in Philly and have sorely missed a good roast pork with broccoli rabe. Was so excited to hear Rosalind is making them here, on their bread! Their crusty sturdy hoagie roll stands up to the hefty juicy filling. It's so porky and a little bitter from the broccoli rabe, the slight funk of the cheese. Super satisfying. Ate it out on the terrace, which was absolutely lovely. Took half home for the boo, and it traveled well. I could definitely finish the whole sandwich but then I would be absolutely stuffed. The shop is super cute, lots of Knick knacks to shop and poke around while you wait. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. I was nervous they'd be sold out at 2pm on a Friday but seemed they had everything still! Much bigger menu than I thought, their other sandwiches look really good too but I don't see myself straying much from the roast pork because I'm obsessed. I didn't realize they were upstairs and was almost frantic running around looking for it, hungry and worried they'd sell out, before checking maps for the 10th time and seeing "2nd floor."

My coworkers and I are on a mission to find good pork sandwiches in the city. We heard about Jerry's, and took a stroll to Embarcadero 2. It's a pop up with limited signage, and I was initially was confused with the SF Fitness sign right above the door. Make no mistake, it is not a gym. Their menu includes pizza squares (gives Golden Boy energy), and cold cuts options. We all ordered the roasted pork hoagie. You can order at the counter and they call your name when it's done. The staff were really nice and brought our hoagies out to us on the patio. Note there is limited seating inside and it's good if you're eating solo. The sandwich was fresh and hot with some really garlicky broccoli rabe which paired nicely with the tender pork. It had a good meat-to-bread ratio. The consensus is that 4 out 4 people on my party enjoyed it. It was so tasty and big enough portion for me to take half of it home. Though others scarfed it all down. Great addition for lunch in the downtown. Check days and hours as they are opened at limited times.

Even though finding Jerry's is like a corn maze, it's well worth the journey once you try one of their hoagies. It's a true Philly hoagie thru and through. I got the meatball sub that came with free broccoli rabe. Definitely one of the best subs I've had in the city. The toppings along with the sesame seed roll took my tastebuds back to the east coast. If you need a break from sourdough or the traditional west coast sandwiches, I highly recommend Jerry's!

Jerry's Roast Pork is super delicious - I love how they specialize in just one thing, and they do it really well. Obviously, you'd come here for the roast pork sandwich - it's a hoagie roll stuffed with plenty of thinly sliced juicy and tender roast pork, slightly bitter garlic broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone. It's a very juicy and messy sandwich, you'll want to grab an extra handful of napkins to mop up the juice. The sandwich is very similar to the Roast Pork Hoagie at Palm City Wines in the Outer Sunset.

I had a roast pork with broccoli on a weekday for lunch. The order arrived quickly. While I didn't eat at the restaurant, the interior of the restaurant seemed nice. The bread on the sandwhich was delicious, so was the pork. I wasn't a big fan of the broccoli rub, but that might just be me. I will definitely go to back to try their other food.

I love when a place has a very narrow specialty, so it can focus and do it well. Not huge portions, but quite delicious. Also very random assortment of pizza and apparently an obligatory salad. Though only the items with roast pork were notable to me. Garlic Roast Pork Sandwich: I've read their pork take 3 days to make and I can totally tell a lot of care went into it. It's so much better than typical pulled pork since it's got almost roast beef like texture, but the taste is all pork goodness and nice marinade. I was skeptical about the broccolini, but it actually worked very well against the intense pork and crispy sesame bread. Great texture with everything together. Also nice cheese. EMP Special Slice: It was like the roast pork sandwich, but on pizza. Nice slices of roast pork. Gooey sliced provolone cheese. Some high personality greens to counter the richness. Plus a layer of tomato sauce, not found on the sandwich. Definitely a fan. Tomato Slice: Kinda basic. Borderline feels like focaccia. It's alright, but do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks more on topping. Grandma Slice: After having the EMP Special, this also felt kinda basic. I think they used provolone, so it tasted different than what I was expecting. It was lacking the magic ingredient: roast pork! Soppressata Slice: Ok, this had pork, but not the special kind made in-house. It was pepperoni adjacent, but not a good as the classic pepperoni.

Jerry's roast pork is a solid lunch option in the Embarcadero. As a fellow Jerry, I felt obligated to check it out after seeing the new storefront on a walk with a coworker during the day. Sandwich has a nice garlic acidity to it from the broccolini which I am a big fan of. Pizza was also a great option as well, the sesame forward crust was really unique. Would visit again.

I arrived at 1:25pm, and just in time, it turns out: most of their items weren't available due to running out of ingredients for the day, and shortly after I got my order, I saw the staff place a "sold out" sign on the door. Staff looked minimal (two employees) but were friendly and really pleasant. The pork here was great! I got the salad, and it was a good portion with plenty of pork (maybe top 40% of the bowl was just pork!) and not an excessive amount of dressing (the bottom of the bowl only had a small amount of liquid at the bottom when I finished). The pork was impressive, with a good mix of sweet and savory and good texture. The salad veggies were fresh and crisp. Mixed greens, sliced bell peppers, all made for a great salad. The store itself is pretty large and a lot of standing area with a few chairs/tables. There's plenty more chairs and tables to eat at littered around Embarcadero Center if the shop is filled. There are disposable fork/knives and napkins available at the counter. I'm excited to try their sandwiches (what I originally wanted to get). They also have pizza options too. I'll have to keep in mind that I have to go earlier, before they run out of ingredients.

So glad to see a new lunch option open in the area. Jerry's Roast Pork is located at the former Andersen Bakery on the Lobby Level (technically the second floor) of Two Embarcadero Center, at the top of the escalator. Today, 11/04/2025, is opening day. I get there at 12:40pm and as a I'm approaching the place, I can see it's empty except for two employees behind the counter. I reach the door and greeted with the sign: "Sold out. We will be back tomorrow." They just opened at 11am,Perhaps they underestimated how well business would be on Day 1. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get to try something of theirs. Currently, their operating hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

Excellent food, excellent service. Matt, the owner, made me feel welcome and served me with a sandwich that I'll be coming back for. That garlic roast pork hoagie with broccoli raab was amazing! Could easily feed two.

Came back to try a cold hoagie and it did NOT disappoint! I am going to boldly say this was the best sandwich I have eaten in the past ten years, no bullshit. Quality ingredients well-worth the $20 price point. The bread especially makes me smile.

Happy there's a new fast casual sandwich spot! My sister and I shared the Garlic Roast Pork Hoagie and the seasonal Roast Beef Hoagie. Garlic roast pork hoagie was a unique combo of ingredients that I didn't expect & was delicious. The broccoli rabe and wasabi flavors were interesting but I wished the pork flavor stood out more. The crusty sesame bread was great! Roast beef hoagie is marked seasonal but I hope they keep it longer! I liked the favor of this one more. Only wished they toasted the bread before adding the beef / salad because the bread was harder cold vs the toasted pork hoagie which was nice and soft. Overall very enjoyable, and great value for the amount and quality you get. Will come again to try more.

I read that they offer a gluten free, dairy free pizza. Insane I know, but yet they offer it and I was PUMPED. When asking the waiter what I can get based on my needs, he responded to me like I was a war criminal. He was a Caucasian gentleman with brown hair. He raised his voice for all the diners to hear about my allergies, told me I couldn't get any pizza, and when I pointed out that there were options, he told me "I'll triple check if this is possible for you." When he came back and confirmed it was possible, he tells me they can do a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni. It felt like the moment he heard 'gluten' and 'dairy,' he mentally categorized me as 'vegan' and stopped looking for ways to make the experience enjoyable. Yikes! Lol I fully recognize - girl, why did you go to a pizza spot with a gluten and dairy allergy? Yes I am not okay for this hahah but also I felt pretty embarrassed and treated really poorly. Love a good sticker wall, and the display was nice to have. Value: honestly reasonable, especially comparatively. Ordered a small cheese and a small garlic and clam and two people could for sure share a small. Taste: other recent reviews are hitting it on the head - while the garlic and clam was decent (3.5/5), the cheese struck a core memory of elementary school cafeteria pizza (just without the tiny pepperoni diced cubes, 2/5), and both were just lukewarm, soft/not at all crisp, and just weren't packing much flavor at all. I can see Golden Boy being a workable late night solution for the City that Goes To Bed Early, but not much else beyond that at this point. Rating 3 stars at places with nice people working is not my favorite, so I'm glad that it's an institution and has stood the test of time and truly hope that they can/will calibrate on elevating their formula here, because I want to see this place deserve the love it gets.

I also enjoyed their use of fresh basil and the grated Parmigiano-Reggiano they throw on at the end. It's kinda like a new york slice, but a little gourmet? Very tasty for sure. Critiques: First off, each slice is $6-7, which is a bit steep. Maybe times have changed, but this is def not a budget meal, especially if you are eating multiple slices. Second, some of their already crispy slices have been sitting on display for some time and completely cooled down. When these slices are then reheated, there is a bit of an overcooked taste? Lastly, they only have a few topping options and the quantity of toppings on each slice (especially protein) is pretty sparse. I also ordered a slice of the Sicilian as well to mix things up. It was good, but the crust was just a touch too greasy for me.

We ordered the Garden Pizza and the Chicken Garlic Pizza. The Garden Pizza had a light, fresh flavor, and I loved all the vegetables on it. Both pizzas were delicious with thin, wood-fired crusts that were perfectly crisp. For dessert, we shared the lava cake with ice cream, and it was so good! Definitely the perfect way to end the meal. We came on a weeknight around 6:00 p.m. They also do a lot of takeout, so it's clearly a neighborhood favorite. A fun little touch: water is served in repurposed wine bottles. Be sure to check out the secret menu and secret dessert menu displayed inside--you might find something extra to try. I actually picked That's Amore because I attended a Yelp Community event there earlier in the month and was really impressed. That was my first visit, and I knew I wanted to come back. I'm glad I did. Recommend!

When we arrived, our waitress didn't seem very knowledgeable about the beers, but honestly, that wasn't a big deal. My boyfriend ordered his pizza while I was still deciding what I wanted. His pizza came out very quickly, which we had no complaints about. The issue started when we had barely been seated for about 15 minutes. I went to the restroom, and while I was gone, the waitress approached my boyfriend while he literally had pizza in his mouth and a full beer in front of him and told him, "My chef said to charge you." He was confused but said okay because it made us wonder if they were closing. I checked the hours, and they weren't supposed to close until 10 PM--it was barely around 9 PM. I HADN'T EVEN ORDERED MY FOOD YET. I was still planning on ordering my own pizza, dessert, and a drink. Instead, we suddenly felt like we were being rushed to pay and leave. What made the situation even more unprofessional was that she left the payment device at our table for Apple Pay and then actually left the restaurant. She was the only server we had seen around, so we were basically left sitting there with the payment device and no server. We eventually had to get up ourselves to find someone so we could ask for boxes and return their payment device. No one had even asked whether we needed boxes, wanted anything else, or were finished ordering. My boyfriend didn't even finish his beer because at that point the entire vibe had changed and we just wanted to leave. We had driven an hour specifically to try this restaurant and were genuinely excited about it, which made the experience even more disappointing. I completely understand if a server's shift is ending, but there is a professional way to handle that--especially when customers are still actively eating and one person at the table hasn't even ordered yet. Someone could have simply explained that her shift was ending and introduced whoever would be taking over our table. Instead, we were made to feel like we needed to pay and leave. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the experience. We really wanted to like this place, but being treated this way after driving an hour to come here was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
