My friend and I were visiting from LA and our hotel the Archer recommended this place for dinner. It's right across from Bryant Park. We loved it so much we went back and second time for dinner. The first night we sat at the bar (it was crowded and we didn't have reservations) and made some friends who recommended Ivan's (the bartender) espresso martinis. Although we were drinking some white wine we decided after finishing those we would try them. Ivan makes them special with a little Bailey's! They were incredible! Like a dessert but not too sweet. Ivan shared his recommendations with us and we had some good conversation. We ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and Brussels salad as well. All very tasty. A couple of nights later we went back and had the rigatoni with red sauce which was phenomenal and our favorite and the Toscana salad, also great. The pastas taste homemade and everything is so fresh, including the bread. We of course ordered espresso martinis again and Ivan thought it might be us again and came by to say hi. I travel to the city for work and often need a place to dine solo. From the outside, the vibe looked warm and inviting. That's exactly what it was. I sat at the bar and ordered a simple pasta with red sauce, some meatballs, and broccolini. The pasta was perfectly al dente and absorbed the red sauce nicely. I appreciate that I was not offered grated cheese or fresh ground pepper. It was served as the chef intended, showing off the tomatoes, accented only by the herbs and spices. It was not too oily either, if anything it could have had a touch more, but again this let the tomatoes come through. The pork and beef. meatballs are dense and served in a thickened tomato sauce. The bread that comes with it is nice for finishing that gorgeous sauce which does have a sprinkling of parm. The broccolini had a a touch of garlic and served with a lemon. I've visited La Pecora Bianca for brunch in Soho a couple years ago and it was memorable. Today's visit at their Bryant Park location was all about catching up with my close friend for lunch. As soon as I entered, I loved the minimalistic, sleek decor. It was packed! I arrived first and the hostess not only accommodated me earlier than our reservation time, but actually showed me to my table without requiring my friend to be present. I always appreciate this gesture which serves as a huge plus for me. When my friend arrived, we placed a twin order for the Spicy Limoncello Margarita. It was knock your socks off delicious. Their menu included a nice variety: from pizza and pasta to salads and mains. Lunch and dinner menu were one in the same. I chose the Chicken Paillard while my friend was in a salad mood which happened to be Farro with Grilled Chicken. If you're watching your waist and are feeling a carb overload, my selection will serve the purpose. It was light (grilled Chicken) topped with Arugula, tomatoes and toasted slivered almonds. It was so light that I finished way before my friend. The portion size was smaller than her grain salad. The salad looked good: copious Farro with grilled chicken and some other goodies, but she was unable to finish it all. Overall, we both enjoyed our selections. I loved the atmosphere, service and food during lunch today. If I didn't have pizza and pasta recently, I would have gone with either. Next time. I've been to this location a couple times, for both brunch and dinner, and the food and drinks have been fresh, flavorful and delicious. Even though it's a pretty large chain in New York City, the service is always quality and the food is always well cooked and hearty. Both times that I've gone, I've walked in without a reservation, but I do recommend making a reservation in advance if you're going during peak hours. The restaurant has both an upstairs and downstairs dining area, and it's beautifully decorated inside. The location is central & convenient, just across the street from Bryant Park and walking distance to Grand Central. This location does tend to get a bit more tourist traffic because of that, but it's still a nice spot to go to. I recently dined during restaurant week, and the $45 3-course dinner was well worth it. One particular highlight was the garganelli dish which had mushrooms, pesto and perfectly al dente pasta. I have come to this establishment several times and the food quality is always consistent and well prepared. The decor is welcoming and the servers are attentive. Pecora Bianca is a staple Italian offering that comes up frequently in my rotation; I have been here many times over the years and most recently for both lunch and dinner for the 2026 winter restaurant week menus (it is a really great deal)! My favorite dishes at the restaurant are the whipped riccotta, garganelli pasta, and the chicken paillard. The pizzas here are also delicious. A special tip is that the tiramisu is delicous and huge, but uses coffee that is quite strong, watch out! The restaurant does get quite busy every day, but given how spacious it is inside, a reservation is not hard to place. Tonight, my family and I visited La Pecora Bianca after receiving a dining credit from the hotel next door where we were staying. When I asked the hotel manager how to use the credit, I was specifically told it could be used either at the hotel's in-house restaurant or at La Pecora Bianca, so we chose the latter. Upon arrival, we were seated downstairs fairly quickly. A gentleman server initially approached our table, poured water, and walked away without greeting us. At one point, I noticed him standing at a distance staring toward our table with what appeared to be a look of disdain. After some time, a very pleasant woman came over, and I assumed she had become our server. She was warm, professional, and excellent while taking our order. The gentleman later returned several times to refill our water, but never spoke a word to us -- even after we thanked him. At the end of dinner, the check was brought over rather quickly, which was not an issue. We politely asked if the bill could be charged to our hotel room, as we had been instructed by the hotel manager. His response was abrupt: "We are not affiliated with them and we can't do that." Not wanting to create a scene or feel further embarrassed, I simply handed him my credit card. After returning to the hotel, I explained the situation and asked why we had been told one thing by the hotel only to experience such an uncomfortable and embarrassing interaction at the restaurant. The hotel manager was understanding, apologetic, and immediately went back to speak with the restaurant manager. While I cannot speak to anyone's intentions with certainty, my family left feeling deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome. As a Black family, the treatment we experienced felt noticeably different and disheartening. The hotel ultimately refunded our meal and even offered us additional dining credit to return, but I respectfully declined. I would rather go without than return to a place where I did not feel comfortable, respected, or valued as a guest. read more

We came on a busy night without a reservation, fully expecting a wait (if we weren't turned away). No problem there. We were told we could grab a seat in the bar area if one opened up, which felt like the standard response, so we chose to wait for a table instead. The waiting area itself is tight. You're hovering near the kitchen door or standing above the dining guests. There's no text or phone system, so if your name is called and you're not right there, you're skipped. Again, fine, just something to be aware of. After about a 45-minute wait, we were seated at what turned out to be a long, narrow bar-style table with stools, seated elbow-to-elbow with strangers. This wasn't disclosed beforehand, and we had assumed we'd be seated at a traditional table. The table was so narrow that if two people across each other ordered plates, they had to be staggered just to fit. When I asked if we could wait longer for a standard table, the host explained that the bar top seats were designated for walk-ins. That was confusing, since earlier he had gestured toward the same area when mentioning the bar. I understand it was the holidays and things get hectic, but clearer communication around seating would have made a big difference. Had we known we'd be seated so closely with strangers, we likely would have chosen another restaurant. Once seated, we decided to stay and eat. Our server was wonderful and handled the cramped setup as best as possible, often having to reach across guests to serve and clear plates to no fault of his own. I wouldn't rule out coming back but I don't live in NYC. I would definitely recommend planning ahead. We were finishing up at Bryant Park when we wanted a place to eat & there happened to be a location right across the street. Nice, clean, classy interior. I come here for Italian food when I'm dining with a larger group or want to know exactly what to expect. I always go with the vodka rigatoni and it's got a nice bit of creaminess to it. I should have read the menu more carefully -- the chicken parm comes with vodka sauce, and if I'd realized that, I might have ordered something else. There was nothing at all wrong with the vodka sauce, it's just not my favorite for chicken parm. The chicken itself was moist and tender, despite being well-flattened and breaded. We were told it would not be near a heater and although not directly under it, I could feel the heat so it wasn't bad. If you have the chance to sit inside though, I would recommend. It's quite nice. This time I decided to switch it up and order the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe. Not my favorite, I found it to be very greasy and not cheesy enough. Server was very nice and we got our food relatively quickly. For the payment, however, you scan a QR code and you have to enter your credit card information manually. This I found to be very annoying, when a server could just tap the card on a machine and it would take two seconds. After the fact I received an email saying the payment didn't go through because I entered a number wrong, even though the restaurants website said I was all good. Then we had to flag down the server and she had to check on the back end to see if it went through. Whole thing just seems very easily avoidable! This place asks for the total food order at once (ex: you can't put in apps and then order mains later) which probably simplifies their workflow for kitchen staff but is a bit odd. They brought out the pizza with the appetizer even though we asked for the appetizer first and mains after. Table space is small so it was a but difficult to have entrees family-style but we still tried to make it work. Solid but wouldn't come again. The Roasted Chicken entree was actually not too dry for a chicken dish. The potatoes and broccolini with it were both seasoned very well. My coworker and I were looking for a place close to our hotel. Luckily La Pecora Bianca was within walking distance and has stellar reviews. I was able to get a last-minute reservation on a Monday. To our surprise, the restaurant was packed. The dining room was really loud and it was hard to hear, but it was simple and very pretty. We asked our waiter for recommendations, and he recommend something from each category on the menu. We ended u splitting artichokes, a caesar salad and the rigatoni. The artichokes were delicious, especially with the lemon, aioli-like sauce. The star was the salad. It was fresh with a lemony flavor, it had the perfect amount of dressing and the cheese crumbs on top gave it the perfect texture. The pasta was good but a little disappointing, mostly because it came out cold. The vodka sauce was excellent and the fact that it was fresh pasta made it that much better. At the end of our meal, we were able to scan a QR code on the table to pay. We were able to split the bill and pay directly on our phones. For a last-minute meal, this was a great choice!
