The big dumplings have no info on what they are so I'll get one of each and try them all but I feel it's a big waste of food because I had to throw many away after tasting ,info on each would be helpful when choosing ,brisket was the absolute worst dry and tough and no tofu in sweet and sour soup just a few pieces in pot of soup ,and deserts are the typical Chinese buffet deserts which are terrible ,only icecream and pudding barely worth trying for desert. read more

This location is much better than the other one. Still a little dated but very clean. It's a buffet style dining experience but not bad at all. The layout is very organized and functional. You pay up front which is understandable, it's a buffet. I just don't like that they try to get you to tip the servers when you pay for the meal. A tip is rewarded for going above your normal server duties, and I will give it directly to the server. In this case, the server was not good. All she had to do was keep the glasses full and the plates cleared. That didn't happen. I had to go find her twice to have my tea refilled and three times to clear the plates. It was not busy at all and instead of working we kept finding her just standing around joking and laughing with another server. This is why we don't tip before service. We will come back, obviously, but we will certainly not be in that servers section again. I really need to start posting employee names so managers/owners know where to focus their retraining. read more

You're greeted and you pay immediately three adults one child under 8 was $80. We took our seats and we were let loose at first. Everything looked so good. so I tried a little bit of the sushi was terrible it was dry and tasted funny. The crab salad and everything on that side was just sitting on ice it was above 45 degrees. Most of the Chinese was dry and chewy and lukewarm it was such a disappointing experience. The cross contamination is ridiculous. We truly had high expectations for this place due to the fact that this is Grandma's favorite place, but she told us she gets the soup in the back the pho and that's one thing we did not try, but I won't be going back for just soup. read more

Pretty good compared to other Lin's I've been to this one was cleaner overall. Service and waiters were courteous and polite. Had some Salmon, sushi and vegetables. Would recommend if you are very into eating sushi. read more

Honestly, the food is mid. It's hit or miss. Sometimes the crab rangoons are fine and sometimes they're stale. The only real consistent dishes are the dumplings, and they're the only thing I care for at Lin's. Eventually, they will probably be removed from the menu seeing as they did not have brisket at all today. They have removed crab legs and oysters as well. The worst part about Lin's, though, is their policy regarding military IDs. I went with my family, and we only needed one check. My father showed his military ID, and then they wanted to see the rest of our IDs, in order to get the full military discount. The remainder of us did not have our IDs because my dad was paying and did not expect to have needed our wallets. This place is so terrible. From the rude and weird GM to the belligerent and sloppy cook to order steak "chef". I'm not expecting the world when I go to a buffet, but this place is so bad. The ice cream doesn't even melt, the sushi is the worst I've ever had, the "pho" is not pho, it's dishwater and noodles, so nasty. Nothing was appetizing or memorable. Chinese is our third favorite restaurant type after Italian and steakhouses. We tried this new "International " buffet last Saturday! Three 13 year old girls and 2 adults! No drinks just water! $78!!! If you you are looking to have vast amounts of mediocre food this the place for you! Do NOT eat the oysters! They tasted off! Sushi was about a D! The girls tried about 15 things on 2 plates and left about 95% of all their food! We have this place 2 stars because it was clean, easily accessible from 35 and some of the Chinese food on the buffet was decent. And more importantly the server (well bar back) was very pleasant ! Our favorite Chinese place closed over 2 years ago after 30+ years and the owners retired and kids didn't want to take over! Hsiu Yu! Pronounced Sue You! Favorite for all the Alamo Heights attorneys! Lol! Best dumplings and hot and sour soup and egg foo young in San Antonio! Currently Formosa Gardens has great very fresh sushi generous portions for about $10 and always consistent Chinese food $9 lunches! Not a buffet but you won't be hungry when you leave. All in all, to sum this place up we tried it twice once for lunch and now dinner! We prefer quality over quantity! This buffet has a decent selection of sushi. However, the sushi doesnt taste that good. They have more American food than Asian. There is a large selection of food. The food is average taste. The hostess lied to me about giving me my military discount. I recommend making sure you get your discount before paying or at least checking your receipt. The carpet appears to have a lot of stains which is odd for it being recently opened. When they change the food out they dont swap out the serving utensils. read more

They keep raising their prices over and over again but the quality of the food keeps going down. All the meats were really hard and chewy, not edible. Even the pizza was over cooked and hard, my 3 year old did not even want to eat it. He took a couple bites of food and we were charged $7.99 for him. My husband and I stoped by for lunch today at around 11:15. The restaurant was about 55% filled. There was no wait and we were seated almostIt immediately. The menu has wide variety of selections and they were delicious. There're so many options that we did not get a chance to try them all. And food were constantly filled. We did not encounter a tray that was empty. Jasmine, our server, took great care of us. She was near by but discreetly. Each time we finished a plate, she arrived to pick it up. All the staff were pleasant and very polite. The place appeared to be very clean. There was always someone stood around and wiped clean the counters where the food displayed. We left the restaurant very satisfied and would certainly return again. It was worth trying. read more

Not impressed is how I feel about our experience. We arrived at 5:00 p.m. and there was a line to pay - only one person working. Two adults, one beverage and one water was $30.48 which included a 10% military discount; but we were charged $2.49 for the water! We were almost immediately taken to a table and informed that a waiter would be with us soon to get our drinks. Wade - the waiter (table attendant is better term) - took our drink order. There is a mixture of food items, weighing heavily on sushi, seafood and Asian. Lots of fried foods. Steaks are cooked to order (did not try). Brisket and link sausage were o.k. - but no BBQ sauce available. There were only a couple of 'side' items - white rice, mac & cheese, mini corn on the cob, and what was supposed to be steamed veggie mix but was only broccoli. Would have liked more side options like mashed potatoes, beans, string beans, etc. Overall the taste of the food was just o.k. - nothing special but then again, it is a buffet. Desserts were very basic and plain. No cakes, no pie. Pudding, cut bananas with some type of red sauce, Jell-O, cookies, mini coconut macaroons, chocolate balls, etc. It was very odd to me that there is a mixture of items on the same steam table. You have fried rice (which has shrimp in it by the way) beside steamed crab, beside steamed fish, beside mac & cheese. It was if they just brought the pans from the kitchen and put them wherever they found an open space. If you have fish allergies, this is NOT the place to eat. Questionable - Sanitary: 1. There is an ice cream freezer (like you would see at a Cold Stone, Baskin Robbins, etc.) with tubs of ice cream. You slide open the top and scoop out the ice cream yourself. The ice cream dippers are in a water reservoir (that is running). Customer are reaching into the containers to scoop out the ice cream - no sneeze guards, people's hair hanging down into the tub area, hands/fingers touching the ice cream, etc. Much better to install soft serve machine with venially, chocolate and swirl options with toppings available. 2. There were trays of uncovered cookies sitting on a table beside the dessert bar. No sneeze guards. No tongs. People taking them using their hands, kids taking some and then putting them back. 3. Beverages are not refilled at the table. The waiter takes your cups, along with others from a nearby table, to the beverage room to fill and return. How can you be sure that you are getting your cup of water back versus the table neighbors cup of water? Better to have a couple beverage stations installed and let customer get their own beverages. Wade, our waiter/table attendant, was very pleasant and checked on us frequently. Even offered to fix us beverage to-go cups which was nice and not expected. Would I return - probably not. read more

Save your money and frustration, the place is nice and clean. It's a brand new building the servers are nice. The food though..... no flavor whatsoever and some of the food tasted and tastes like it was reheated. Definitely they do not have a world options of food.. misleading... not impressed. Don't understand the low ratings but here is the experience we had. We went there during our road trip and we are a huge fan/pro on Asian buffet. THIS IS THE BEST WE EVER HAD so far comparing to all the ones I've had in MO, MD, CA and I'm Asian. We went during dinner time (I think it's Friday) Fresh and various of sushi, sea food and they even have all you can eat made to order Pho and sirloin steak!!! I had lunch at Lin's again and it was still delicious, the pho guy was on point!!! This time I tried BBQ ribs with my pho omg it was just the best a little saucy but I'm not complaining it was yummmmmy!!! Please don't forget the Chinese donuts well that what I call them; they are actually called sweet biscuits.the service was great, picking up plates and even gave my to go glass for my drink which was new. This place is pretty basic. It was extremely packed and to be honest the food is not all that great. My husband paid 45$ for just two people and the drinks was about 2.95 if I'm not mistaken. I wouldn't take a large family here due to the unreasonable price range. The egg rolls are horrible. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated which wasn't bad . My plate was dirty and the waiters was not attentive at all. They took forever to refill my drink. I'll try this place again but to be honest the food was not all that great. read more

This is one of the worst buffets I've ever been too. Tried it for the first time today and the service was horrible. We walk in and are greeted by a very blunt non warming host. You pay before you sit down which is such a shame because you have to tip before evening being served. We sat down and waited over 5 mins, I notice a party of 6 being sat right next to us and before they could even sit down she was asking for their drink order. This was supposed to be same waitress in our section but since we complained that she was dealing with a larger party before even introducing herself to my party 2 was handled by Fernando. This man deserves the only star from this restaurant. He understood our situation and immediately helped us with our drink order and how to approach the buffet. Best Buffett in town I'd say. Come hungry and leave full! Normally when I leave a food buffet I feel like I made a ton of unsatisfying choices that left me hungry only hours later. Not here. My favorite is the pho. The broth is hearty and satisfying. The sushi tastes fresh and there's a great variety. Food if kept up with and not left to dry out. Good service. The dishes aren't overly greasy and don't come with a bunch of fillers. Fantastic variety here, for the money you pay, you get a lot here. I've been twice so far and I don't think I can go to another buffet now lol! Can't really think of any negatives here. Had a very positive experience, seems great for families and kids.
