My wife and I dined here recently, and while I like the fact that the restaurant offers a 24-hour drive thru and a decent selection of Mexican entrees, I would only rate this place as so-so. To begin, it is somewhat difficult to get to...you have to be in the Kmart parking lot to access their driveway, and there's only one way in and one way out. We used the dining room, which was very small. I ordered the Tacos Al Carbon, which came with rice and re fried beans. The tacos were decent and the rice was the same. The beans seemed to have lard in them, as they had a more creamy consistency...not very tasty. My wife ordered the two-taco plate with rice and beans, and it seems they use fried flour shells, which are not authentic, but the tacos were edible. Overall, this place was okay. I felt that it was a little on the expensive side, but that is an arbitrary statement. I think that, unless I am jonesing for Mexican food at 3am, one visit will suffice. I hope this place survives, as all the previous restaurants in that spot have not lasted too long. read more

Great "real" Mexican fast food! I was early for a meeting in the neighborhood and saw this place as I was going north on 144th. Standard menu of burritos, tacos, quesadillas, tostadas and more. Reasonably priced, delicious and fast! They have a drive-thru as well. One reason I enjoyed this place so much is that it reminded me of the kind of place I used to eat at often in LA. There were also small touches that caught my attention, such as the food is brought out to your table if you're eating in (rather than having to wait at the counter), and the bathroom was pretty clean. Minor I know, but for this kind of place, those things stand out to me. I know Omaha has plenty of good Mexican food, but rarely do I go far enough out of my neighborhood to get it. If you REALLY want the real deal, go to Taqueria Tijuana in South O. But for good, cheap, fast stuff that isn't Taco Bell in the Chalco/Millard area, check this place out. read more

If you wonder what "California Style" Mexican food is: Cheap, large portions, much better than taco bell, more selection. I dig this place...really I do. Now I'm much a fan of 24 hours Mexican places around here (ahem, insert the obvious restaurant here). But after two failed attempts at the other place on my late night chile rellenos...we opted to try this place instead. Their rellenos at 3am are quite exquisite I must say...not that I should be eating at 3am when I have to be up for work at 6a...but I'll gladly wake up for my S.O. bringing me home greasy Mexican food (he works graveyard, so it's dinner time for him). Today I ate here with a co-worker during business hours. This place was sort of busy, and the food is cheaply priced and very good. I actually tried something different from my usual rellenos and opted for the Camerons Rachero...oh..I think I have found a new 3am dish!! It was very delicious. The shrimp (camerons) were very juicy, and the diced peppers they were cooked with were fantastic. My boss got to pick the restaurant for lunch. She said, "Hey, let's go to Lina's. i have never been there. I bet it is one of those quirky little hole in the wall places where the food is really good". We tried to talk her out of it but we lost. The negatives,-- food was cold, floors were dirty, tables needed to be wiped down, flavor was not good. Plastic silverware. Paper plates. I feared for my health. The positives -- plenty of parking (no cars in the lot), lots of seating (we were the only customers in the restaurant). I just discovered this place in the last month even though its been near my home for awhile now. The burritos are gigantic and the veggie is really good. Cheaper than Taco Bell, huge portions, and pretty tasty, plus they are open 24 hours, have a drive through, and there is rarely a wait. My mother in law is kinda picky and she really enjoyed the chicken burrito. If you order the chips and guacamole you almost get a giant nacho platter. The tacos are not very good but I rarely find a taco I enjoy. The guacamole and rice are very flavorful and good. I don't think I'd want this as my last meal or anything but I no longer go to Taco Bell as this is more economical and fresh tasting. I've always been a huge fan of linas, i've noticed there has been a couple of times I have felt sick after eating here. Just last night I had gotten the rolled tacos and they just tasted very off. Turns out next morning i'm vomiting my brains out with food poisoning and left me in the hospital. Never coming back again, do better! We hit Lina's for breakfast burritos on a regular basis -- eggs, bacon potatoes and cheese. They are delicious, oversized and cheap. The green salsa is fantastic, though sometimes a little too warm (spicy) for me to eat more than a little bit. The folks there are super friendly and very patient when we come in for lunch and are indecisive about what we want to try next. First off let me apologize for not being of Mexican dissent, from California and for growing up in Nebraska. That being said I can enjoy Mexican food even if it is not 100% authentic. According to other reviews Lina's is not authentic enough for them, but let me tell you it some of the best, quickest and reasonably priced mexican food I've had. I cannot verify to the extent of their authentic-ness (please see disclaimer above) but I am always impressed when a place uses fresh homemade flour tortillas and high quality ingredients. My observations: Ground beef burrito - very good and made with fresh flour tortilla, sometimes a little on the greasy side tho. Pollo Asada Quesadilla (chicken) - best quesadilla I've had at any restaurant although can also be a bit greasy from all the cheese Salsas are dynamite and worth getting every time. I'm in town for a short while and was craving breakfast burritos and a friend recommended this place. We went at 9am on a Monday, we were the only one in the drive up, and it appeared only one person was inside. My wife and I both ordered breakfast burritos with the added potatoes. Since I was driving my wife ate her burrito which she said "was okay" although she loved the home made tortilla. 20 minutes late we arrive at our destination and she hands over my burrito. I take a bite... cabbage and some kind of chopped up meat... I had ordered a bacon breakfast burrito with potatoes and they messed up the order! As noted before, there were only two customers at the time! I was way too far away to go back at that point, but I was super disappointed, what I got wasn't very good either. Lina's, oh Lina's. Surely I am not the only Lincolnite that misses you. The breakfast specials at the now-closed Lincoln location were hard to beat. A very well-kept secret that unfortunately just never caught on. It's tradition for me to stop here before getting I-80 back to Lincoln. Usually I'll go with a pair of bacon burritos. Always hot and fresh. The staff is always very courteous as well. Ownership, if your by chance reading this, we would love to see you back in Lincoln. I LOVE LINA'S. Being vegetarian the only items I've had were the veggie burrito and the cheese quesadilla, but dang. I'd pick both over Taco Bell's offerings anytime. The huge handmade tortillas are tasty and equal largely portioned burritos and quesadillas. The veggie burrito is reminiscent of Taco Bell's 7-layer burrito, but more heavenly. And huge. AND THE CHURROS. mmmmmm. hot, fresh churros for only 99 cents. You can get cinnamon, or raspberry, apple, or cream cheese filled. Luckily they're open 24 hours too, so my friends and I can always appease our 2 am churro cravings. The pops are also huuuge. The fries are crinkle-cut and yummy, especially dipped in salsa verde. EDIT: tried the chile relleno burrito.. OMG. smoky green chiles filled with cheese in a big warm tortilla. it's to die for. the chile's make it super juicy though so make sure you're eating it somewhere where you can be a little messy! Lina's is one of my favorite burrito places. I have only eaten the burritos here and they have all been excellent. My favorite is the Arizona (steak, potatoes, pico de gallo, and cheese), and others are good as well (breakfast burritos, chorizo, etc). On my way back from Gretna, spotted this cute little restaurant on the hill. It looked promising from the outside, and a sign on the front door announcing the new addition of pork tamales got me excited. When I approached the counter, I got the impression I was going to get something authentic, but sadly I was extremely disappointed. While the tamale was good, the carne asada taco I had and the beef tacos my friend had were completely void of flavor. It seemed as if they forgot to season our food. In addition, the guacamole simply tasted like avocado. Now don't get me wrong, I love avocados, but I expect a bit more when an avocado is turned into guacamole. This place is a dive! I've never actually eaten inside, mainly die to the fact that they have a drive thru. They are open twenty four hours a day and that includes weekends, which makes this a great place to get some Mexican grub after a night full good times or terrible horrible regrets. So We purchased a Chile relleno as a side chile should be cleaned out before frying and that was not done and did not have flavor I lalso purchased 4 tortas asada and this is probably my fault for not looking but the meat should be chopped and seasoned but it was just a whole piece of meat but that is the way they have it in the menus and I did not noticed that the meat was also was not seasoned well just plain and i also purchased a torta of adobada meat was chopped as it should but meat tasted like it was reheated a few time I also orders 4 rolled tacos meal and they were dressed nicely but again plain not well seasoned no flavor we also got a burrito of carnitas and the seasoning was spot on but again you can tell the meat has been reheated a few time as they were greasy like they normally are but the meat was dry witch happens when you reheat the meat and the final item we had was the super nachos looked amazing but again meat just reheated and it quickly fastidia their is not a real word in English to explain I'm that word but it kinda like saying the flavor is boring as I am Mexican and from California and this does not compare to a Mexican restaurant I have had some that are really good but I will not mention them as my intent is no to compare restaurants just to honestly review them I spent close to 100$ and I would have not minded if the food would have been good but my family said unanimously never again I gave them 3 stars 1 for the food portions are great not to big and not to small and 2 stars for their customer service as this was my first time their and did not to what to order they were patient and understanding and did not rush me or even fell I was being annoying I also added 2 items at the window after original order was placed the were very nice great team but need better cooks or management as food is below standards in my opinion this a honest review and broke it down pic are after we tried the food sorry did no get them before and this was all left over my kids normally eat a torta and half here they had maybe half of one and that is not normal they are not really picky eater I have a 13yr 11yr and a 8yr I would consider this a texmex restaurant read more

Lina's has great food that is as close to authentic Mexican as you can get in Nebraska. Prices are good for the portion sizes, service is fast, being open 24 hours is a plus. I've tried most items on the menu-rolled tacos are crispy and sometimes that can be dried out meat inside. Super nachos are always awesome. Carne asada fries are legit. Street tacos are delicious. Great value. The portion size is perfect or better than what you pay for. The burritos are as big as your forearm and stuffed. They use chunks of steak in their steak burrito and the chorizo is perfect in balance with the eggs in the chorizo and egg burrito. Go there hungry if ordering one. Good selection of hot sauces. This place is more of a fast food Mexican than fine dining. My only problem with the place is the limited drink selection. Only Pepsi products and I'm not a fan of carbonated drinks.
