Wow, An Honest Auto Mechanic! Really!!!! I've been going to Lincoln Electric for about 8-10 years I would guess, No mechanic is inexpensive, But Lincoln Electric is reasonable and Honest....... Ruben has a great crew. I had a bad experience with Love & Joy Automotive, I found Lincoln Electric and have never looked back. I had a Lumina with 227K, It started to overheat and was just kind of falling apart, Ruben advised me not put anymore money into it, time to find a replacement, tell me you know a mechanic who would give you that advise, Most I have crossed paths with would just keep their payday and continue to work and the car unless they are a dealership, then they want to sell you a new car. This must be the worst experience I've ever had with a Mechanic as I had to go back FIVE times for the same problem. The last time I recorded the Mechanic stating that he had put the part on wrong which is why it didn't work so I may take them to small claims. The first time I was talked into getting a more expensive part because I was told that I would have problems with the cheaper ones but it turns out that I had problems with the more expensive versions as well and they refused to give me a receipt for the parts they bought l or show/give me my original parts. I went in a second time and they put on a used cylinder that would get me by until they could get the new one. The third time I went in again to get this replaced but that one was messed up as well and I had to go in a fourth time. I then had a brand new problem which was caused by them and had to go back in a fifth time which the guy admitted. They refused to reimburse me but I feel that I should be compensated for my time and their ineptness. I was upset crying and said I can't believe I'm missing work and I had to drive all the f***jng way back here from downtown LA and one of the owners told me that I was disrespecting him and didn't understand why I was upset when I told him no one was swearing at him just stating my messed up situation of kissing work. They obviously don't care to please heir customers, don't care to refund any money for faulty parts after being talked into the much more expensive ones and are unapologetic for putting the part back on wrong. I get it we're all human-but having to come back FIVE times and not being reimbursed anything seems grossly unfair. I recommend going someplace else-do not get ripped off by these guys or trust them with your vehicle. read more

Rubin and his family are the best. Another shop quoted me $300 to fix the wiring on my international scout. Rubin fixed the problem for $60. And he was super cool and we shared some great stories. You can tell he loves what he does and loves life. read more

Our family won't be using Lincoln Auto Electric anymore. Ruben and his wife have become experts at over-charging. We have now had three experiences where they quote one amount, and then without any approval increase the price by anywhere from 30-50%! After the first experience with that we told them they had to get our approval. We were very specific. They ignored that and just gave us a song and dance. Ruben and his wife seem like nice people. To bad they are no longer fair. Lincoln Auto Electric is an invitation to be over-charged. read more

As a college student, I am very cautious when dealing with mechanic scams or what not over the years. My car broke down due to a mechanical failure with the transmission. My friend recommended me to go this location. I arrived by tow truck, as I was looking forward to what these people can do. Judging by the place, it looks like a old-skool mechanic shop run by a "mom and pop" family business. The manager, Ruben, comes to me and looks over the problem. After discussing, he gave me a fair estimate before hand, which gives me an idea how much I'll be paying without feeling surprised, which is a good thing in my book. His wife and secretary, Ana, is quite a happy, funny person to speak to. I can tell why she would befriend the locals around here with her optimism. If you get her to laugh, she wouldn't mind a joke or two. Ruben would give you an insight of the issue and give you an estimate. He gives you his business card for any additional needs or what not. I called him to add a tune-up and he was glad to do it. Seems to be a really cool guy to speak to if you talk about life, once you get acquainted with him. He would call you and give you the exact price, which was near his estimates. Before you pay, he explains about how the issue occured and shows you the faulty part, which shows his honesty. No hidden fees, no extra, unnecessary work, just the thing I needed fixed unlike the other place down in Lincoln. Everything is shown like he told you so that he's isn't hiding anything. Feeling relieved, the car worked well and I came back for a tune-up from his recommendation, due to oil problems that led to my transmission problem. I surely recommend them! read more

i took my friends 95 4-runner in to two other shops with a battery problem. they said i needed an alternator and $300 and 4 trips back to the same shop i realized they had no idea what they were doing.. told me to go buy a battery when the battery and probably the alternator was good. took it to ruben who worked with many electrical problems and fixed it the way it should have been fixed the first time... now i will take to ruben first! love the service, genuine help and fair prices! thanks ruben! read more

Best auto shop I've ever been to. I've gone there for a couple cars now and they always figure out what's wrong with it when others can't, and they do it for a very good price without trying to get you to fix unnecessary things. They are willing to take the time to diagnose a car instead of refer you to a dealer if they can't initially figure it out. The owner Ruben is very nice and shows you exactly what is wrong with the car and tells you all your options. He and his wife Ana are very, very nice and you can tell they care about their customers. There are two other mechanics who work there now, Robert and Dave, and both are extremely nice and have a lot of expertise. I've had some terrible car experiences recently and they've all helped me immensely in getting my cars fixed and for a good rate. I've never felt so appreciated and helped by an auto shop. I cannot recommend them more highly. Every customer I see there is equally as happy as I am. read more

The bottom line: Ruben seems like a nice guy, but not a good businessman. His hourly rate is NOT listed. He has, at least in my case, charged more than I authorized. He has cleared a car(mine) with a glaring flaw. In all fairness, he did allow me to leave my car there while the part was being shipped. IF I was to advise anyone going there: be sure to specify the repairs wanted (as only), ask the hourly rate, pre-authorize an amount (all of which should be part of an original estimate), wait for the diagosis (waiting for a phone call can lead to an ambiguous negotiation of price), and take a copy of the paperwork, check your car - repair before leaving. Oh, and good luck. I took an older car into Ruben to have a specific electrical problem addressed. He told me to write down my problem and sign the form. I acted in good faith, did as he asked, but stipulated that I would pre-authorize up to $200. He called me to explain that OTHER(electrical) parts of the car were fine, but that there would be some challanges to what I asked (perhaps some extranious items to be removed). I told him to remove those items only if it made the job easier, but to only concentrate on the stipulated problem. He said "no problem, my friend" (probably for the twentith time). He later called back with the diagonosis. I would need to order the part on the internet and wait. I then authorized up to $300. He, quite nicely, told me I could keep my car there. Over a week later, Robert called me to tell me my car was ready. I asked him the amount, and he told me $400. I then spoke to Ruben, who gave me his usual vagueness, and actually defended his rate by telling me that the work was difficult and if it was something like changing a fuse, he would only charged for a half-hour or an hour (it might take 5 minutes to change a fuse- so charging for an hour would be, just a bit, excessive). He had wanted to charge me $125 for removing an alarm (my car had no alarm), for which I guess he meant the CB radio. After coming home with the car, I realized that part of the dash was cracked and the settings switch was inoperable. I returned the next day and they repaired the gaffe. Again, Ruben seems like a nice guy who is just in a little above his head. read more

We will not be using this place EVER AGAIN. Our Honda had one issue (RPM sensor or something) and we were told it would cost $215 to fix it. Later, they said the issue was something else (the starter). We then had to find an affordable starter ($60) and bring it to them (we were still charged the original $215 job). We were told the car would be ready by 10am one day, so we decided to call at 1130am before we headed out to pick it up. We THEN learned that something was wrong with the distributor. So we found an affordable distributor ($50), brought THAT to them, it was installed and then we were told they needed wires. We then run up to Kragen, buy the $45 wires, bring them back, & they install them. We pay for all of that, drive the car, and on the way home it cuts off and doesnt start at all. We then had to tow it back to the shop after hours, then we find out the next day, theres something else that needs to be done & it would cost $60. We call the next day to inform them were coming to pick it up and were told it needed something else so instead of $60, it was going to be $197. We are 100% DONE with Lincoln Auto. read more

Hello there! :) I recently went to Lincoln Auto Electric to fix my BMW. Why go to the dealership knowing that they just rip you off. So, my father recommended Ruben and Ana's (the owner's) mechanic shop, saying that they did a great honest job on his car. So, I head there and right away, Ana, the office and "boss lady" of the shop comes out and right away wants to help. Let me tell you, if you go here, expect a unique and funny greeting from this woman. Then, I meet her husband Ruben to basically get to the root of my car problems and right away I can tell he wants to make sure I was comfortable leaving my car with him and his business. Afterwards when I returned to see my car, Ana made sure to show me the prices of the parts to basically gaurantee that they are giving me correct prices, instead of other mechanic shops that purposely give you high prices especially towards women who they think know nothing about cars. Ana kept me company and made me feel welcomed into their business. And the cool thing was that on the walls of her office, there are pictures of various actors and everyday people putting their mark on the shop. Of course taking your car to a mechanic shop can be stressful just because you dont want to be charged a lot of money and so on, but like they (ana and ruben) said its better to have your car fixed correctly instead of doing a poor and lazy job. Since, my car has been working. I think you'll like Ruben's nice and polite qualities. He wants to work with you to solve your car's problem. You don't see that a lot any more.
