I wanted to rewire a couple of lamps. Not really a hard task,unless a lamp is a weird size and a standard socket won't fit. I originally went to Home Depot (mainly because I needed a few things for the garden.) They were absolutely useless. I've bought odds and ends and Lincoln hardware over the years, so I thought I'd try there. Amazing. They did such a great job in helping me to figure out how to adapt it. Disgusting tone of voice to talk to customers my mask fell and was told harshly You gotta put it on which I did as it had slipped I'm not an anitmasker just anti clowns Who think they can talk to customers like that . When asked if there's a manager I was stonewalled by his goons ..... I used to go to this hardware store all the time when I lived across the street fromm it. It was great then. It is still an interesting store. But I spoke to Dave today on the phone and found him to be extremely and unecessarily rude. He was so rude that I drove up to Anawalt on Pico (not that far really!), paid 1/2 of what Lincoln Hardware wanted (no exxageration !) and was treated with kindness and as a customer. Hence, the 1 star review for Lincoln Hardware - the way you treat people matters. read more

A convenient, friendly hardware store with fantastic parking easily accessed. Friendly staff, always ready to help you find what you need. I dashed up there to get a hotplate the day the gas company shut off my stove for high carbon monoxide, which tided me over until I could get something more permanent. It's great to get the exact size and quantity of screws and nails you want instead of being forced to buy a box of way too many that will take up your shelf space the next 40 years. Comfortable good working gloves, roofing tar, hand tools, batteries are a few of my recents. Less choice than the giants but plenty good enough, and a fragment of the time and hassle. read more

These guys are awesome! Had what I needed in stock and were eager to help! So nice versus chasing down help at the larger stores. Highly recommend them for attitude and help for your hardware needs. Very boys club/"boys only" vibe when I walk in this place. They don't have a single female employee which contributes to that. Like today when I was walking to the register and one of the associates went from quietly talking to all of a sudden loud lecturing about how they need to charge a "convenience fee" in a threatening tone right as I walked up. As if my presence was a drain on them and I'm a needy creature of convenience. Even if they weren't talking about me, is that really the kind of environment you want to create in your store? A threatening one? Doesn't your business run on convenience? Do you want to go out of business? They need to grow up. They are nominally friendly on a surface level, I suppose. Their key cutting service is a joke, though. I've gotten 3 keys cut here and only one worked. All in all a decent enough hardware store. Emergency purchases only. read more

Selection and Prices are not as good as Home Depot or Lowe's but it's very convenient and they all wear masks etc. Pretty decent selection of basic stuff that is well organized. You definitely have to ask (sometimes repeatedly) for help and they are not always super friendly... but they will help if you persist. I got them to crack open my 20 year old garage door opener to change the battery. They guys in the back, not the front, are helpful. The front guy just mostly rings stuff up. Do be discouraged - just keep asking for help or questions until you get it - they will eventually cave in just to get your out of the store :) read more

These people have saved me long Fruitless visits to Home Depot so many times. Small business near my house that has a small selection of goods. I really like coming here, albeit the the selection a small, but the people are always friendly and helpful. I once had an issue with my plumbing and the staff member took so much time to explain to me what exactly I needed. I felt confident in what I was purchasing. I don't always feel that way when I go to the Big Box stores. And when they don't have something, they can either order it or help you find it. I'm all about small local businesses. These guys are honest, key cutting is lightning fast and dirt cheap and they put up with a lot of guff from folks without losing their cool. Came in last night and their was a woman flustered about her jacuzzi malfunctioning and the guy behind the register helped her sort out who to contact at the manufacturer without letting her short temper irk him. Another guy living on the street was trying to return a bunch of items that had rusted from outside wear and tear and the manager was super patient explaining which items were built for outdoor durability and which would rust. This was all in a short visit, and they still managed to get me out the door quickly. It's the small stuff! read more
