We stopped here because we like to patronize local purveyors and thought it would give us a nice break from the predictable food at the ubiquitous national chains. Unfortunately, as I sat there eating my sparsely embellished, bag-lettuce salad with ranch dressing that was obviously straight from the bottle, I looked out the window and across the parking lot to the Wendy's next door and realized I how much less I would have paid and how much more interesting my salad would have been if we had, indeed, chosen to go to Wendy's instead. read more

Bob Evans feel with much tastier food! First time visit was in the noon rush on Mother's Day. Despite that, they took our names and number over the phone and texted us when our table was ready. Seated promptly when we arrived and the food was out a short 15-20 later. The staff showed impressive hustle. Food: I ordered the Lincoln omelette with rye and home fries, the wife got a farmers skillet with cinnamon raisin toast. Both dishes. were very flavorful and they didn't skimp on any ingredients. Very tasty. Nice portions, plenty of leftovers. Additionally, a few patrons at neighboring tables ordered cheeseburgers and they looked thick and delicious. One random caveat: What most places call home fries, they called diced potatoes and my home fries were thin, broad sliced potatoes. Both were good, but the skillet diced potatoes were better. The wife and I have been by this establishment a hundred times but never paid it any mind. We were looking for breakfast on our side of town and ended up here. (Finally!) No disappointment here. The service was very good and the food was great. Just what we expected. The ham skillet was nicely done and was seasoned well. Next time I'll get it with OE eggs so I can mix all those flavors together but still really nice dish with the eggs scrambled. Sampled their waffle that was still hot enough to melt the butter. My wife had the old standard, eggs and bacon and as well there were no complaints. I believe that breakfast is a meal that's hard to screw up but many places manage to do it anyway via poor service, bad cooks or cheap ingredients. We decided to go to this restaurant today for an early Father's Day meal. I had been here for breakfast a few times before and I thought the food was good if overly priced. In the past we have had to wait a long time to be seated and get food during their busy times. Once, they even forgot about us. But I wanted to give them another chance and we went during a non-peak time. We were pleased that we didn't have to wait long this time and our food came in an appropriate amount of time. Servers were friendly and competent. But this time, the food was NOT WORTH the overpricing. My salad base was bagged iceberg lettuce and carrots, my son's pork chop was tough, and presentation of the meals left something to be desired. We LOVED their French fries! They have a tasty crispy coating and cane out hot and fresh. Although there are good aspects of this restaurant, I will not be going back. Don't use your debit card here! My husband and I are here for lunch and had a charge of just over $20.00 and a charge of over $2000 came out of my account. Now I have over draft fees and no way to finish Christmas shopping until this is fixed. Manager was not helpful so gave me to the owner who was rude and also non helpful. Yum! Stopped in for dinner and everyone in my party loved what they ordered. The fried chicken was on point and served with mashed potatoes and gravy which was tasty. The coleslaw was creamy and sweet and enjoyable. The service was friendly and fast and they brought our orders out quickly. This wasn't my first time dining at Lincoln Square but it will probably be my last . Today my husband and I where out last minute shopping and decided to stop in for brunch . It was sad that we had too witness a young lady being attacked by the owner . It isn't the first time we have witnessed this type of behavior from this owner as well as other employees with power treating her poorly . I do believe her name is Tonya . Both of the times she's taken care of us , the service was beyond exceptional. We observed how well she works with the othe customers as well as seemed to step in to help the other staff when they seem to be struggling . Today my husband and I overheard one of the other servers being really short with her as she thanked her for grabbing a table for her . Later , I see this server talking to the owner , Hector , almost immediately , he's in the kitchen yelling at Tonya because she had an attitude that , myself nor my husband seem to think she had . She was more than pleasant with us as well as the large group of guys and 4 other tables . We observed other employees helping get drinks and things for other servers but only once did we see anyone helping Tonya . That young lady was running her ass off and working extremely hard for him to be fussing at her and sending her home . I will be making another complaint with the BBB . No one deserves to be treated like my husband and I witnessed that young lady being treated today . I overheard him tell her multiple times he didn't care to hear her side . It really saddened me to witness first hand , just how some of these waitresses are being treated . read more

Choices on the menu also provide a great variety, and are tastefully prepared. Coffee or other drinks are kept filled. Servers are busy, knowledgeable, respectful, and thorough. Meals are enough that we do not do deserts, but they will be glad to package one up for you to take home. It is noisy, but that's what local people do; talk to their friends. This is a diner type place that offers a varied menu from breakfast to dinner, but lunch is the best bet. The specials are always a good bet. We come here frequently and for the most part enjoy the food, the problem we have is with their antiquated check system. They still write checks out on an old fashioned check pad and you never quite know what it says. Unfortunately that caught up with us last thursday when we went for a late lunch about 2pm. The chicken parm was a special at 8.99 so here's what we had chicken parm 8.99 gyro 6.09 french fries 2.59 7% tax 1.24 Total 18.91 I went to the register, handed her a 20. bill ( again unfortunately I did not try and figure out the writing on the check and they never total it til your at the register ) and she took the 20 and said it's 22.73. I paid and left . And oh yes, they don't offer a receipt, you need to ask for it and again, unfortunately I didn't. Later that evening it kept popping into my head why it was over 20.00 so I added it up and the result is above. They overcharged us by $3.82. I have no idea and never will what that 3.82 bought us but we didn't get it. By the way we drank water, not because of cost, but because I don't drink anything else. So there it is. Going back would be useless with no receipt. What chagrins me even more is that the waitress was rude and indifferent and I still left her a $5.00 tip which is excessive but I worked in the industry my entire life and know how frugal most people are so I always go the extra mile. Unfortunately yet again, this is the first time I've regretted that tip. Lesson learned, Lincoln Square will be the only restaurant I will go to with a calculator, ask for an itemized list at check out, and only leave a 15% tip. Sorry, but I don't like to be cheated whether its 3.82 or .50 cents, it's just wrong. read more
