Stopped in Lincoln Park to grab a bite to eat across the street from the legendary Biograph Theater. Lincoln Station is a laid back Lincoln Park sports bar featuring two rooms dedicated to sports and pool. I sat myself down and helped myself to the house special of Bell's Oberon for $3. I was able to catch the Royals, Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers playing as the Cubs and Sox already played. For a Wednesday night it was empty although there were a good number of people sitting outside on the patio. Another two Bell's, a veggie plate, a basket of fries and one baked potato later we were left with a bill under $25 and headed over to the Biograph to get a closer look and saw a fence blocking off the infamous alley where Dillinger died. read more

If you compare Lincoln Station with other bars in that area of Lincoln Park, Lincoln Station is not bad at all. You go there because there's something going on nearby (or you live nearby). For me, they sponsored my volleyball team and gave us a really nice deal (now I have cool Lincoln Station t-shirts!). It's not loud or rowdy, there are lots of TVs, there are pool tables, and they have decent beer specials. The food is average bar food, but rather bland. The boring items are the best there - chicken sandwich, wings, fries, chicken fingers. I'm not much of a fan of the rest of the menu. You shouldn't be going there for the food anyways. But I'd rate it higher if the food were better. All in all, it's a decent experience if you happen to be in the area. read more

Lincoln Ave near DePaul campus has a lot of strange bars, in that 18 year old kids somehow are allowed to enter, at least if you're south of fullerton - but not Lincoln Station ( I wanted to clarify that). The atmosphere here is simple, reasonably priced with some great food. They deserve a pat on the back for keeping it real and not succumbing to the oddities of Lincoln Park. We came here on a Wednesday night around 8pm because they have a $5 burger and fries special. The place wasn't too crowded and we were seated right away at a booth in the back room. Our waiter was nice but we barely saw her. After seating us and telling us about their specials she left and 15 minutes later we were still sitting there waiting to get our order taken. Luckily another waiter walked by and asked if we had been helped and said he would go find our server. She finally came back and took our orders. 10 minutes after we order she finally brings us out waters. 5 minutes after that she brings out silverware. 5 minutes after that she brings out condiments. 10 minutes after that we finally get our burgers. One of my friends pointed out that she had gotten a salad with her order but she had ordered fries and asked if she could get it switched, with an eye roll the waiter took back the plate, just they got it switched out pretty fast. The burgers were great and so were the fries. We also ordered their skillet cookie for dessert which was small but delicious! I didn't want to write a review of this place until I had had the full experience. I can honestly say that I have now! My friends and I stick with pitchers which are around $15-18... not the cheapest but hey, we're looking to have a good time. It's a little dark and dank but if you sit by the windows, or even better yet outside on the patio it's not so bad. This place is pretty laid back and the pool table is an added luxury. The TVs are in prime locations and they will let you change it to pretty much any game you want (including soccer!). The crowd here can get crazy on Thursday nights (lots of underagers at times, as it appears to me anyways!). Franklin is a wonderful server! They all have a sense of humor in there which helps when you're three sheets to the wind one day and have the balls to walk in the next. Friends & I stopped here after watching a little NCAA Bball action (and a few drinks) without knowing anything about this place. I took one look at the menu to read Stuffed Baked Potatoes! Yum! I decided on the make your own and filled it with veggies and cheese. It was heavenly and incredibly filling. Also great were the Magic Hat #9 drafts's for $4! read more

I eat here about once a week with my friends. Good food, service can be slow though. I was here the other night and asked 2 separate times for no cheese on my patty melt due to a dietary restriction. The food not only took a half of an hour, it had cheese on it. I did not even want to re-order since it took a half hour the first time. The restaurant was not even busy. Our waitress was nice, but the service was overall slow. It took awhile for our check and my friend asked for his to stay open since he was staying to drink with a friend. The waitress awknowledged him still brought his check. I love eating here because of the chill atmosphere and location, but that meal was very disappointing. read more

I really like this place. The bartenders and the management are fantastic and attentive. The prices are fair and there are specials most days. Lots of local beers and strong mixed drinks. I appreciate this bar because they host UVA Club of Chicago events and are very welcoming. They'll have the big screens up, the volume turned up and the servers ready to roll. However, it took a long time to get my order both times I was there. One time I had to ask for a new glass that visibly had some other lady's lipstick on it so yeah... there's that, and another time I really wondered how a salad with grilled chicken could possibly take FOREVER to come out. Maybe they ran out of lettuce and had to run to the store?? It's a bar, not a 5 star restaurant, so manage expectations and it'll be ok. lincoln square is sponsoring my volleyball team this summer, so i've found myself there 2 weeks in a row and really am "digging" it (sorry, i couldn't resist). $1 taco tuesdays are awesome and those french fries... holy cow. awesome $3 gets you a huge basket to share. they have a great selection of beer on tap, and the atmosphere is really lively and friendly. it's clean, people (staff and patrons) are nice, and our team always is able to grab a table. a winning combo for sure! i can't really say this place is "as good as it gets!" but yes, i'm definitely a fan. read more

Haven't been here since college, and things haven't changed much at all. It's still a place to go on a weekend where you know you'll have fun and have ample room to breathe. I've also always found the bartenders here friendlier than at most places, which is a plus. The one from last night had a sweet 90's rap playlist that was a refreshing change of pace from the music at other lincoln park bars. read more

I agree with other reviewers, there is nothing special about this bar. The bartenders and servers are nice, the drinks and food are fine, but 2 women's bathroom stalls for the entire bar?? Unforgivable. There are many other bars in the area that stand out in some way or another, while Lincoln Station is just average. read more

I will not visit this bar again, and I would strongly advise anyone I have even the tiniest shred of positive feelings for to stay away from this place. To begin with, the service was slow, the music was obnoxious (1993 has come and gone for a reason, Mr. DJ), and the food was unimpressive. When I asked the manager, Mike, for some help in pulling tables together for a larger group, he acted like I asked him to re-arrange all the beer bottles alphabetically: he was rude, unfriendly, unprofessional, and I did not feel welcome. I have been to Lincoln Station several times to watch a ball game and have some wings and drinks. It is such a friendly, comfortable place that I prefer it over its competitors located in the same neighborhood. The TVs are easy to see, the crowd is very cool and civil, and you can sit and relax without feeling bombarded with requests for "another one?" every minute.There are many inexpensive drink and food specials on the menu every night. I'm a bit biased here, because I've been coming here regularly since I turned 21, but for the last 6 years this has been my home away from home. I come here anytime I'm in the area because I love this bar that much. The bar staff and wait staff has been nothing but friendly. Plus the owner, Ben, is awesome too! I would like to start off saying that our waiter, Alex, was great and very friendly. It's unfortunate that, despite having excellence service, our experience sucked. My friend and I came on Wednesday (half off wine and special on sliders). I came straight from work and wanted to eat a salad I brought home with me (to eat with the food and wine I was buying from the bar) and the manager comes over and demands I not eat my salad. Seriously?! I'm spending money at your bar on food & wine and you're getting mad at me bringing in a side salad? Not ok and definitely won't be back. Try treating your customers with a little respect next time and maybe you'd fill your bar stools/tables on weeknights. If the manager was half as friendly as his wait staff this place would be great. Not a bad place but there's also nothing special about it. The food is what you'd expect from a bar and it's better if you finish it before it gets cold. The service leaves much to be desired. The couple times I've been there if felt neglected and never had my drink refilled. If you don't plan on spending a lot bring cash because they have a $10 minimum to use cards. I guess it's chill for drinks and stuff but the food is mediocre. It's really not that good. The truffle fries were actually pretty good. But the tacos are literally taco bell shit tacos. Lincoln Station is pretty much like most other bars. The place has two rooms, the entrance leads right to the bar and then heads back to a sitting area with three plasmas and one large projector (which looked great). From there you can head into another room that has pool tables and a little more seating. What made this place stand just a smidgen from all other bars was our server. She was not only quick, but funny and great to talk to. The addition of a Photo Hunt machine doesn't hurt either. read more

Went in for the Monday night 35 cent wing deal. Meh. Not bad but not incredible. The hot bbq sauce tasted OK but it wasn't cooked into the wings at all, just slathered on top.
