So Im writing this as a restaurant patron and not a bar patron as I think it makes a difference. Lindbergs has been on my short list since I used to work on commercial street and drove by it every day.They had gotten some good press lately and finally got in. It was a Wednesday evening and the place had only a handful of patrons.. I was fine with this as I was looking for a quiet and peaceful evening anyway.And peaceful it was, dark, quiet and cozy with comfy chairs near the stage. We ordered the poutine as my wife never passes up fries covered with gravy and they were pretty tasty. I may have had some a little better but we easily finished the large plateful. My wife had a burger which looked and tasted fresh and good.I had the special which was a beef short rib sandwich with onions and mushrooms and fries for $11.00. My sandwich was Amazing!. In fact it was one of the best things I have eaten in months in Springfield. The meat was super tender and packed with flavor. It should be a daily item. We had heard much about the bread pudding and were not disappointed. First of all it was huge, it was screaming hot and then our server poured melted butter on it.My only issue and this sounds dumb but it was so sweet we couldnt eat it all but we did try. The server explained that Linbergs had only been offering food for just over a year and that showed in the lack of server training. Things like bringing plates with apps and fresh silverware with dessert ect. However the two staff members present were very friendly and we were in a relaxed mood anyway. We came through Springfield on a trip and stopped by Lindbergs on a whim. The ambience is good- kind of a dive-y vibe with an incredibly beautiful bar. We had nice local-ish beer and both had different kinds of poutine. The cashew chicken poutine (called The Daily Special) was especially wonderful. Definitely a recommend from us. read more

If you're on commercial street, this is a great place to grab a drink and have a bite. Recently, they opened their kitchen and are now open at 11:00 am. Their in-house ketchup is outstanding. It's made from Table Rock Red Ale! Take my advice, ask for another cup of ketchup because you'll be wanting more. While we're on the subject of local businesses, they also use fresh rolls baked at Artisan Oven, another gem on C-Street. Another surprise is their cashew chicken poutine fries. Yeah, you heard right. They put two amazing dishes together and slammed it on a plate just for you. The prices aren't too bad either. They carry White River, so have a Copper Creek IPA or a Table Rock Red Ale. If you're there on the weekend, there's usually a band playing, too. read more

Lindberg's is slowly becoming my go-to spot for dinner. I am consistently happy with anything I order, whether it's off the menu or one of their daily specials. Some of the food that has come out of this place has been amazing. My standby is there grilled cheese sandwich with the onion jam... Because it's fantastic. Lately I've been subbing my side for their poutine, which I crave. It would be nice if it was about 10 degrees hotter when it comes out, but the gravy and cheese curds are better than just about anywhere in town, so I make do. But I would be happier if it was a little hotter temperature wise. I also really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Not just for the tomatoes, but for the bright onion relish that's served on the side. I may or may not have piled it on my turkey club...and ate it with a fork. I almost hate to write a review on the daily special items, because I don't want someone to get excited and have them not offer it. But I'm going to do it anyway. LOL. I ordered the turkey club sandwich comma which was loaded with fresh avocado and a lot of different kinds of turkey... And I snagged a bite of the soft shell crab burger that was served with fresh coleslaw. Absolutely delightful. If you are in the least bit an adventurous eater, always ask them for their daily specials. Some of the things that these could come up with, you won't find anywhere else Yeah, sometimes the beer glasses smell of chlorine, sometimes there's a cover for a band you've never heard of, and sometimes the cast of characters is questionable... but the chefs are really talented, the atmosphere and history are fantastic, and it's worth a visit. read more

I have been looking for a unique and friendly restaurant in the area while here for work. A couple of days ago a client recommended this establishment. I read the reviews here on Yelp and viewed the pictures. Seemed like a place worth a try. I walked through the front doors at about 6:15 p.m. looking to grab a bite to eat and a drink or two. Then I was stopped by a short emo guy. He told me there was a ten dollar cover. Really? At 6:15 pm this guy is trying to get ten bucks out of me when I'm just trying to grab dinner? He told me he would have to charge me cause the band (who I clearly wasn't there to see) was coming on at 6:30pm. Needless to say I turned and walked out. Interestingly there was a flyer on my car window advertising the restaurant and band. The flyer advertised the music starts at 7:00 pm and there would be a nine dollar cover. Mistake#1: Sorry to the owners, but having some goof that doesn't understand the restaurant business is a bad move. The business is about getting people in the door spending money on food and drinks. Then hopefully the customers returns (again & again). I can't give this type of place a second chance. Luckily there is no shortage of places to eat and drink. The emo guy actually said, "come back again sometime." Mistake #2: Who has a band start at 6:30 pm (or maybe as the flyer said 7:00 pm) and charges a cover? read more

A friend of mine moved back to the area and took a group of us here. It was a great experience. The inside is well kept and quality furnished. The music scene here is awesome. The first time we went here, there was a drum&bass and dub step show. These DJs were fantastic; it wasn't just some amateurs with a set of turntables. They had huge displays set up with several girls on stage that knew how to dance and would come down and mingle with the crowd. It's like there's something in the air here; everyone is always having a great time and always very friendly. I've never had a drink made poorly here, either. I love this place. I couldn't imagine going here any evening and not having a great time. Lindberg's is, in my opinion, some of the absolute best concerning Springfield's night life offerings. read more

I love Lindbergh's! This is my home away from home. I moved here from St. Louis 5 years ago and this place reminds me of a St. Louis tavern. The people are awesome and the food is amazing. If you want to hear the best low key bands that come to town or great local bands than this is the spot. The decor is eclectic, antique, warm and inviting. When bands aren't playing the background music is terrific too and it's a different vibe everytime I come in. It's one of my favorite spots in Springfield. We had heard good things about the brunch at Lindbergh's and decided to try it. Their biggest problem is that they have a line outside at noon which means as soon as they open their staff is over worked. The menu is impressive. I ordered the lobster Benedict's by the time it arrived my eggs were cold and unappetizing. The fried tomatoes were good but overall the meal was a mess. I think they need to reconsider how they open and serve. Perhaps opening at 11:30 for drinks and then taking orders at noon would be the way to go. They also did not have a bartender or busboys so their wait staff is completely overworked! read more

Hated this place. I am a young 66 years old. I got tickets weeks before for an event that I wanted to see that was coming to Lindberg's. No where was I told that this was a standing room only event. I had to stand for 4 1/2 hours, and with all the people it was very ho and uncomfortable. No fans, no open windows, just hot. As ticket holders were arriving, the tavern was selling new tickets to people who had been at a show that had just ended before the primary act. The new ticket holders got to keep their seats while the people who had purchased their tickets weeks ago tried to find a place to sit or stand. When staff was asked why they said "sorry". They serve food, yeah, if you want to eat standing up. Glad we ate elsewhere before we came here The acoustics from the band was terrible with the tin ceilings and half the walls being tin. Sound was very distorted. The whole night was a terrible experience. The only thing that made it enjoyable was the act I came to see, including the opening act. They were first rate. I was looking forward to visiting Lindberg's and seeing the act I wanted to see. Not going to happen again. Very, very disappointed. Shame too, the music they have is very good. I rarely, if ever, write negative reviews, and I don't have a negative attitude. This just is not a comfortable environment, especially if you are an older customer. And the staff acted like they could care less. read more

Mixed review here: I love a low-key friendly local bar! Pretty awesome atmosphere; friendly service (not always efficient when busy; but that's okay). There's always live music! And the outdoor patio is a positive addition! I appreciate the kitchen, which tries to be innovative; unfortunately the food quality is hit and miss. The fried mushrooms were too greasy ( okay It's fried); french fries i got were tough, tasteless ( like chewing plastic)-- how could you mess up with fries, man? It is supposed to be the easy thing! The smoking portabella burger was a letdown-- it was way too sweet that completely buried the natural flavor of the mushrooms. The buns were dry and cold. It was such an disappointment. read more

Lindburgs is a great little bar with a lot of character. Touted as the oldest bar in Springfield the ornate bar brings you back in time. The food is all excellent and they make their own ketchup on site and it's great! The seasonal meat changes often and is usually great. My husband and I finally got around to trying this place today for lunch. What a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by Trevor who was a great waiter and bartender. I had the lobster grilled cheese. Hubby had the Frito Pie burger. Trevor gave us some beer suggestions. A nice place to relax with friends and enjoy some unusual, gourmet burgers and sandwiches. Ok, so the good first: The burger and fries were excellent. I woofed down my burger in about a minute. Seasoned great and juicy. And the service was top notch. Attentive but not intrusive. Now the bad news: The bands we heard were great, I think. The problem is the sound was so loud it completely distorted the music. Granted I am not a teenager, but seriously, the volume is so loud it just sounds like an incoherent roar. Let me down again. Came here with a few friends (not my wife this time) because they really wanted to try it. I was hesitant after my first experience, but I followed the crowd. We were sat right away and then.......that was it. Nobody came to take our order for food or drinks. Nada. We kept trying to get someone's attention but we were invisible. We all got up and went to Pizza House down the street. A place i feel more at home. You would even think a group that has not been helped in a smaller place like this would stand out. You would also think as our group was leaving someone would question why we were leaving 30 minutes after being sat and not ordering anything. But no. That was my last time trying and my three friends probably won't be trying this place again in the near future as well. My guess is that we are not regulars, so no skin off of their back. Lindbergs has become our new favorite place to eat in Springfield. My husband and I don't eat meat and we both agree that they have the best veggie burger in town. The pretender, another option for veg kids, is a vegan patty with some serious flavor. I always add the onion jam for a little bit of sweetness to compliment it. We've also tried (and thoroughly enjoyed) the grilled cheese and the hummus. The fries are always crispy and tasty, and the basil tomato soup and the French onion soup are both incredible. The only thing I would make as a suggestion would be to have a covered patio. The seating is really tight when it's packed to the rafters with patrons. Other than that... great place! Lindbergs is one of my favorite places to go n Springfield!! They not only have great music but the food is amazing! I have eaten many different things on their menu and have never been disappointed. My favorites are the fried mushrooms, the burgers and the Turkey burger. The menu changes seasonally so there are new things to look forward to. Just wanted to say it was good. The lunch was good and had the bacon wrapped wings. Little pricey but very good. Drinks were good and bartender was the only person working. Lucky to sit in a comfortable chair in front. Like to check out some music next time in town. My girlfriend said the bathroom was very small. wonder what they do when the house is packed. read more
