We've thought about eating here, and finally did tonight. What a great find! My husband loves baby beef liver and was thrilled with his choice. It's hard to find Salisbury steak and it was delicious. As you would expect we're senior citizens, but what a pleasure to find this place. Homemade chicken noodle soup, fresh vegetables with dinner, and choice of garlic bread or hot roll. Since we were in Yucaipa already, we looked on Yelp to find a good restaurant to eat. We found Steak Burger Cafe - it showed four stars, with 98 reviews. So, off we went. It was just about 6:00 p.m. - there was no one in the restaurant. If we did not have out of town family with us, I would have turned around and walked out, as this is not a good sign. We should have left. The waitress advised us that everything was homemade. I got meatloaf - it was awful. My husbands food came out wrong. No one else in our party enjoyed their food - down to the kid's meals. We had to ask for everything we needed. The ultimate slam was when I paid for the meal with my credit card (close to $100) they added a three percent fee for me to use my card. As a former business owner, I feel that it is wrong to pass a business expense of this kind on to the customer but at least have the courtesy to tell me in advance so I can make the decision as to whether or not I want to pay a different way. Possible the best kept secret in all of the Inland Empire. I have been eating here since they first opened​, and have never been disappointed on anything I have ordered. The owner is the chef/cook, and his wife, son, daughter provide backup as waiter and waitresses--mom being there most of the time, dad nearly always. The main reason for going, the food. My favorite--biscuits and gravy. Biscuits made fresh daily and the gravy is the way I think it should be made, thick creamy with spare chunks of sausage. Mexican food available, the street taco's are yummy, as is their Chili Verde omelette. Any of their breakfasts​ are served all day, so you won't miss out. It's not fancy, but if you're looking for clean, affordable and close, I couldn't recommend a place more highly. Give it a try. read more

I just had a wonderful experience and meal at steak and burger. The staff was awesome and friendly. I stopped just looking for some place off the freeway and saw a parking lot full, and knew that was a good sign. I ordered a Mexican style breakfast with eggs, not sure what it was called. It was incredible. Homemade salsa. Tasty green sauce. I have nothing bad to say. Was very impressed I don't know if I'll ever be driving down this way again but would recommend this to anyone. First time at the Steak and Burger Café tonight! They have a very comfortable diner vibe inside. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. Salads, soups, sandwiches, you name it, they got it! I was immediately greeted by a very genuine and happy staff who helped me find seating a gave me my menu. My wife ordered the bacon cheese burger with fried zucchini. I got the pastrami burger with fries. Didn't have to wait a very long time for the food to come out, and everything tasted very good! The highlights for me were the fried zucchini, and my pastrami burger! I definitely don't feel that their burgers beat out Angus McCurdy's in Yucaipa burger to burger, but it had good flavor, and I will definitely be coming back again! I'm excited to have another breakfast option close to home too. Can't wait to come back try out the AM menu items! Come check them out! My mom and I decided to come here after getting our hair done at the salon across the street. We read the yelp reviews and we were really excited about trying it! My mom ordered the steak and eggs breakfast and I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. Unfortunately for a place called the Steak and Burger cafe they didn't have very good steaks or burgers. My mom ordered her steak medium rare and it came out past well done. It was completely inedible, it was like chewing on an old rubber shoe. The burger was terrible too. The patties are frozen, paper thin and the bottom bun was soaked. I think the burger patties at McDonald's are thicker. We both sent our food back. Our server was extremely nice and she promptly had our food redone. It was edible, not good, but edible. The service was nice but the quality of the food was not good. Went here for dinner last night. First time here. It was good!! I had the tri-tip salad I added avocado and bacon and had bbq sauce and ranch for the dressing. It was good meat and a large salad. My son had a waffle combo (They serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY). Husband had a carne asada burrito that was large and flavorful. Daughter had a chef's salad that was really good size and had a lot of toppings. Wife ordered the Eli's steakburger w/fries, onion rings, & zucchini fries. I ordered from old farts breakfast menu, 2 sausage links, 2 overeasy eggs, homefries, & a biscuit w/gravy. Wife's lunch was so huge she only ate 1/2 of it. Her sandwich was great, & the rings & zuccini were outstanding. I'm glad her eyes were bigger than her stomach, because I'll finish it for her tomorrow. My breakfast was one of the best I've had in a while, everything was wonderful. On New Year's Day I went to Rosie's in Calimesa to buy some breakfast. When I arrived I learned they were closed for New Year's Day. Since my family was expecting breakfast I visited The Steak and Burger restaurant on County line rd. The woman who took my order had trouble understanding me and while I thought we finally understood each other I sat waiting on my takeout order and read through the menu. As I was reading it I realized based on her questions about my order that she had it wrong. I ordered beef taquito plate with beans and rice and a sausage breakfast burrito, the woman kept mentioning Asada. Only a few minutes after sitting I asked an English speaking waitress if she could help me to translate the order to the lady who took my order and she pleasantly assisted. While she was clarifying my order the woman was staring at me becoming almost irate and visibly annoyed and arguing. I felt bad about the language barrier but i wanted it fixed before they had completed the order. Approximately 40 minutes later the cashier waved me over for my order. I walked over to pay and used a credit card. The order came to something like $14.00, I left a $3.00 tip. When I got home I removed my order from the bag to see that they left out the beans and rice. Today my husband informed me that I was charged twice for this order on our American Express. I was so upset especially because of my poor experience and I still left a tip as I was feeling bad about the situation. Fortunately American Express is easy to deal with in a dispute but just wondering if I happened in on a bad day. read more
