I'm giving one star based on my experience. My husband ordered the Rubin for $9.99 and was pleased. I ordered a blt with avocado, it was the advertised on a sign outside the deli. The sandwich was all bread, there were 3 slices of bacon, 2 of the thinnest slices of tomato possible, a small amount of shredded lettuce and what could only possibly be called a smear of avocado. This little Deli I can say has the best homemade and original flavored soups that I've ever tasted. I just experienced the mind blowing buffalo chicken soup and I can say it might be better than my grandma's. I've also been there many times and have always experienced great food. The staff always seems to be really Friendly and hard-working, and I also really appreciate the fact that the owner her self works a lot of the time on the food line and helps her employees And I think that has a lot to say about the character of the place. Lindsays Deli has the best chocolate chip cookie I have eaten in my life, I will stand by that for sure, they also have really delicious sandwiches. I had the "Thats what she said" when I went and I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. They have such a fun and welcoming aesthetic right when you walk through the door. Not to mention they are in such a good location as well, there are street performers right outside the door usually, food and entertainment! Not a real Deli and extremely overpriced . Cashiers are not familiar with there oooh menu and also double as sandwich makers. Soup was heated in a microwave. Way more options down the street. Sandwich was so so. Salad and a soup was horrible. Don't overpay for horrible food. I read that this place did gluten free food, so I decided to try it out. Disappointed to say that It did not go well. I ordered a gluten free sandwich, and stated that I had an allergy. Went into Lindsay's this afternoon. I'm a vegan so I ordered the Boulderite without the cheese. Emphasized that it cannot have cheese in it to the cashier and he put it on my order. Opened my wrap to find that they put cheese in it. How hard is it to not put it in when the order explicitly says not to? Seems like a simple instruction but incompetence made successfully completing an easy order, extremely hard. With 6 workers there at one time I would think that it would be nearly impossible to screw up but oh how wrong I was. Never going back. read more

Average food, slow service, and overpriced solely based on their location. Moreover, they only provide one-time use plastic utensils to stir coffee with. I have been asking them to use dried spaghetti, or wooden stir sticks for months now. Instead, they continue to only provide plastic spoons. I have never been to a deli, coffee shop, or anyplace that sells coffee that doesn't offer a stir stick. What kind of business cant even do the bare minimum to lessen waste, especially in a town like Boulder? The response I got from management BTW was that they are still working on a plan to address this issue. Diet Coke - this is a really full service deli. Nice atmosphere. Haagen dazs ice cream. My wife loved the salad I'm on a very restricted diet but the owner stepped up and created the type of salad I require and my measly amount of protein. We didn't ask she actually saw us looking confused and asked. As a business owner I respect people in a business who are paying attention and looking for ways to help. I don't care what anyone else thinks, I'm a sandwich connoisseur and get a sandwich anywhere I go. Lindsay's was by far one of the best sandwiches I've had in Colorado. Period! Being from St. Louis, we have some really amazing delis, and Lindsay's made me feel right at home. They had homemade lentil soup the day I was in and it reminded me of the way my mom makes it. Michigander here, was in Boulder for a few days and happened to stop here for lunch, and I was impressed! I loved my sandwich, the 'That's What She Said'. An amazing combination of flavors, like nothing I've had before! I also enjoyed the interior of the lunch spot as well, though I could see it getting a little cozy in places, I found a nice seat on the window bar and people watched while I ate my food. I was very pleased with the customer service, the efficiency of the staff and the inviting atmosphere. In from L.A. visiting family, walking the shopping district (totally awesome area, by the way, with wonderful, fun shops filled with very different things!) & stopped here for a quick lunch....lots of choices, from wraps/sandwiches to soups/salads.....we had 1 turkey salad, 1 BLT & 1 New Yorker sandwiches....the New Yorker is a mix of pastrami & corned beef with lots of fixings + salad including pickled vegetables all in the freshest, slightly toasted bread...and it was probably the best sandwich I've had in the very longest time....the BLT was declared excellent as was the salad (featured hummus!). We ate at Lindsay's yesterday at approximately 3:30 PM for lunch - first time in the restaurant. I'll start by saying that the food was great. Among the items we had were the buffalo chicken sandwich, the "Italian Stallion", and a roast beef sandwich. Unfortunately, nearly every other part of the experience was negative: - It took over 5 minutes for someone to come to the register to take down my order. A group of young adult-aged employees was at the back of the store, chatting and laughing with each other. - During the payment processing, you're prompted to submit a tip and the options are 20%, 15%, 10% or Other, and selecting Other actually cancels the card. The cashier had to explain how to get past this menu, which is absurd in the first place. This is a fast food restaurant; you pay at the register and the food comes out, just like Chick-Fil-A or McAlisters. Why does it seem necessary to insinuate a 20% tip (or 15%, or 10%) for this nominal service? - Our order took over 20 minutes to deliver, which is frankly ridiculous. All of our orders were cold sandwiches, and ours was the only standing order. - The restaurant was filthy. There were baskets of finished meals all over the place, the floor was covered in crumbs and napkins, the trashcans were literally overflowing, and there were less than 10 customers in the place. It seemed like there was no emphasis on intra-day cleaning of surfaces or floors. It was honestly pretty gross. - I used the restroom shortly before we left and found that there was no soap in the soap dispenser. This is unacceptable for a multitude of reasons, and again calls back to the lack of emphasis on upkeep throughout the day. Also, I'm left wondering how, without soap, the employees handling my food are washing their hands. Overall, we were left disappointed after our experience based on all of the above factors. Given the price of our lunch and the expectation of a gratuity, Lindsay's Boulder Deli should have better service, have a cleaner environment, and take better care of their customers. read more
