Had to wait a little bit to be seated, there isn't much room inside to wait with the gift shop right there and people coming in and out. They would be smart to get those little beepers (or a text) to notify people their table is ready so they can wait outside. I had the stuffed French toast, sausage and eggs over medium. I always love stopping here whenever we drive from the Bay Area back to Los Angeles. I love all the little novelty items in the gift shop, and I love their jams. Their bakery and desserts are absolutely delicious. I think the price is more than fair and the portions are huge. There's parking along the street as well as in back. This is definitely the tourist trap restaurant of Cambria. I came to try the must-have Olallieberry Pie, but could not bring myself to order it after such a mediocre and overpriced lunch. $60 pre-tip for two lunchtime sandwiches and a tiny salad, with no drinks, is absurd. We were in Cambria for the weekend and ate breakfast at Linn's both mornings. Both service and food were excellent! I loved their nice warm scone with both their Olallieberry jam and lemon curd on top. My husband really enjoyed the display of rode bikes hung throughout the restaurant. He is a cyclist and enjoyed the history of bikes that the owner has collected. They also have a great gift shop and bakery counter with lots of yummy items. We will go again when we are in Cambria! read more

Had to stop in Cambria and try the Olallieberry pie and it did not disappoint! Neither did the lunch. We stopped in at the local Chamber of Commerce to get food recommendations. The lady suggested Robyn's and Linn's. Since Linn's featured the pie we decided to go there. The huge menu didn't disappoint. I very much enjoyed my 1/2 veggie sandwich and 2/2 salad. Both were so tasty to eat! The family shared the Olallieberry pie warmed up with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. This was definitely the way to go!! Tart pie with a bit of sweet ice cream! It was pouring rain on the Central Coast and several low lying roads near the creek in Cambria were closed. We drove from the deserted North end of town where most shops and restaurants were closed to the South where we were delighted to spy Linn's Restaurant with the lights on. We parked in the convenient parking lot behind Linn's and scooted in , dodging raindrops. If you enter from the back you pass through a tiny boutique, with seasonal gifts. This time of year there were many cute Easter themed items. Rows of Olallieberry Jellies, jams, and fruit spreads shone on the shelves along the wall, and the pastry display held the promise of a sweet desert. I hadn't been to Linn's in over a decade, and they have really upped their game. The dining room is twice the size it used to be, and there is even a mezzanine for extra space. The menu has also expanded to include entrees of all descriptions, with lots of comfort food, perfect for a wet day! I chose the Pesto Pasta with Shrimp, while my husband went for the Down Home Meatloaf with mushroom gravy, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables- the very definition of comfort food. Our waiter was personable, gave us plenty of time to make our decisions, and the food came out very quickly. The space was filling up, as there were very few other dining options in town due to the rain, but the tables were well distanced. My Garden Pesto Pasta with Shrimp was rich and flavorful, and could go head to head with my very favorite Prawn Pasta dish from the Rio Grill in Carmel (at half the cost). It arrived nice and hot, each bite was a creamy treat, and there was plenty left over to enjoy at home. The portions are not shy, and my husband's meatloaf was half of a small bread loaf pan in size, nicely browned and richly flavorful. The mushroom gravy enhanced the potatoes and the shaved onions were a final top note! We had more rain effect exploring to do up the coast (which did wind up in a 30-mile detour through Atascadero to get back to SLO), so we stopped by the pastry counter and got a raspberry cheese Danish and a Pecan Chew. I generally don't like pecans, but this little bit of heaven was reminiscent of a pecan praline, one of my favorite treats on earth. We also picked out a Fig & Olallieberry fruit spread as a gift for a friend and went merrily on our way. read more

Oh boy! We had no idea where to eat, and asked a local boutique shop owner for recommendations. Linn's was one of those recommendations. The thing that sold me on it was the Olallieberries. What's that you ask? Never heard of an Olallieberry? Me neither. Apparently, it's a mix between a raspberry and a huckleberry? SO delicious, and Linn's has several creative ways to try them. We started off with some tasty beverages, and took in the bicycle-themed dining area. For my main dish, I went with the local's recommendation of the pot pie. My wife opted for the Olalieberry Country Fried Chicken Breast (sammich). Both were excellent. The pot pie was piping hot and full of flavor in a crispy, flaky, delicious crust. The sammich (which I sampled) was delicious. The Olaliberry slaw with the crispy fried chicken bombarded the taste buds with the salty and sweet. And the crunch of the slaw, the crisp of the fried chicken and the tender, juicy chicken breast was an absolute delight. We practically licked our plates clean. Contrary to my wife's opinion, I really DID need to add an Olalieberry shake to my order. And I'm so very glad I did, because it was DELICIOUS. A perfect ending to an excellent meal. On our way out, we couldn't help stopping by the bakery/gift shop. We waited in a long line of other determined customers. We picked up a couple Olalieberry pastries for our breakfast the next morning, and also picked up some Olalieberry syrup and jam. I struggled with this review. I ate there twice and one of the times, I think it was Linn who sat us. She was very nice and there was a guy who I think was the manager who was checking on the tables. He also was very nice. The food was good, the ambiance was great, the staff besides what I assume was the manager and Linn was downright odd. When we had breakfast, a server asked us "would you like something to drink!", the waiter came over and asked us "are we ready to order", there was no greeting, no "How are you?" it was right down to business. When we went to dinner, we observed the same thing, the waiter and whoever it was who served us water was very impersonal. No greeting, we weren't asked if we had any questions about the menu, it was simply "Are you ready to order?" As I sat and watched the interactions of the staff and the customers, I had to wonder, is this a good place to work? Why is everyone acting like they have somewhere else to be? When you have a server who is personable, it makes a huge difference and I was really taken aback by how there was no effort to be personable. Nice vibe, great service...definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Certain desserts are really good - and their Olallieberry pie is a must try!! The first time I tried to visit for dinner was a weekend during tie holidays and it was INSANE!! There were so many people inside that I couldn't even get past the store to the restaurant so I immediately gave up and just grabbed some desserts to go from their store counter. The second time was a weekday during the off season about a month later - much better experience! On my first crazy visit I just grabbed a raspberry meringue puff and an Olallieberry cream puff to go...and I wasn't a fan of either one. The raspberry meringue was about 85% meringue, 10% crust, and 5% raspberry filling which was a shame bc that was the tastiest part! I tried the Olallieberry cream puff a couple of days later and it was bland and thick and chewy. I'm wondering if it would be better fresh? On my second visit, I was finally able to sit down to dinner! I tried their hot chocolate to drink and it was great! A huge mug of it topped with whip cream yum!! For my dinner I had their meatloaf. The portions are massive! The meatloaf piece is enormous and very thick. It has a nice flavor but is just a tad tough - was slightly over cooked i think. It comes with mashed potatoes and veggies - all very delicious. It's topped with a tiny bit of gravy and could definitely use more. For my dessert this time, I took home a piece of their pecan pie - I couldn't resist as it's my favorite. I was very disappointed - totally bland - weird texture - never again. But I'm a tough critic when it comes to pecan pie. On my way out of town I stopped by to take home a mini blueberry pie and mini Olallieberry pie - both ended up being excellent!! So I think if you stick to their speciality pies it's all good! The staff were wonderful - so friendly, warm, and attentive. The vibe is like a French country chic - and very cozy with great views of downtown Cambria while you eat. Theres a good sized gift shop in the entrance full of really cute country decor and the like. There's a very small parking lot out back and lots of street parking around. No parking issues when it's slow, but when it's busy, be prepared to walk. read more

Holy flipping cow... I'm so glad we tried this place out for dinner. BEST pot roast I've ever had in my life. No joke. The meat was moist and melted in your mouth. The veggies and potatoes it came with were also good. My boyfriend ordered the meatloaf, which was also good but not as perfect as my dish. The service here was on par, and our food came out hot, fresh and in a timely fashion. The portions are also huge, which we appreciated after a long day. The olalliberry lemonade is so gooood as is the syrup, and pretty much anything they have on the menu. I rave about this place to my friends back home all of the time. We've eaten here before, but usually only for breakfast, and have always enjoyed it. We've chatted with the owner, and he seems like a lovely fellow who keeps a close eye on his business and quality. This was our first time for dinner, and we went in with higher expectations due to previously enjoying their breakfast. This time, the owner wasn't there, and the place felt like nobody was in charge. I'm giving it a very generous three stars here, but TBH, we were really disappointed in both the food and the service. Our server wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming, and seemed to be in a rush to take our order. As for the ambiance, it FELT like a breakfast place that was trying to serve dinner. My wife's glass of Wycliff sparkling wine was VERY sweet. They need to warn people about that so they know what they're getting. Perhaps their Prosecco by the glass is dryer? We ordered the ahi tuna as a shared app, but the server didn't bring us extra plates or knives for a sharable dish, so we ended up having to use our bread plates and butter knives, which is weird to mix with Ahi Tuna. They'd mixed sesame oil in with their soy sauce, which didn't work as a combo for sushi. A little bit of sesame oil goes a LONG way, and this had much too much, when I would've preferred zero. I ordered the New York steak (and I asked for no brocollini and double potatoes) which was $42, and it was listed as ten ounces. It guess it COULD have been ten ounces, but it was quite thin, not even half an inch, and LOOKED like the kind of steak you'd get with steak and eggs in the morning, not like a dinner steak. It came with a big pile of brocollini, so my request seemed to go in one ear of our server and out the other. The biggest disappointment was the "demi-glace" my steak was resting upon. That wasn't demi-glace. It seriously tasted like heated up A-1 Steak Sauce. Yuck! So I got a breakfast steak with a subpar unappealing sauce for dinner. To try and salvage the flavor of the steak, I asked for horseradish, and our main server didn't seem to know if the restaurant even carried it, which seems odd since there are two steaks on the menu. Then when he brought out the raw horseradish he then asked if I wanted "the dip" and I asked him what he meant by "the dip" and he just looked confused and shrugged his shoulders, and didn't seem to know what he was offering me. I figured he must've meant creamed horseradish, so I had him bring me a side of sour cream to mix with the raw. My wife's fried seafood combo was decent, but very under-seasoned. Anyway, we'll be back for breakfast, but never again for dinner. read more

Mediocre food and cartoonishly sloppy service: I suppose one should expect so-so dinners amid always-high prices in the town of Cambria, but this restaurant was more than a little disappointing. The food was basically what I might cook at home, but with an excessive amount of melted cheese covering it like a fondue. The waitstaff never brought me the beer I ordered, forgot to fill water glasses, got the bread order mixed up, and just generally seemed to be standing around a half-empty restaurant gossiping with each other. Okay, the food - delicious!!! The ambiance - very cool! But the pies - ohhhhhh myyyyyy! The owner's son gave us the 411 on the berries and history of the place. After a great meal, we wandered over to their little cafe and gift shop for some yummy preserves, and they even have pies frozen to take, we grabbed two wish I had bought more ollaliberry preserves! The ONLY issue was our waiter seemed to be bothered by having to wait on us. The three employees who worked that day (Wednesday the 17th) simply acted like they didn't want to be there. All three needed attitude adjustments. If you go to cambria CA you absolutely must eat at Linn's. We had dinner there our first night and loved it so much, we came back for breakfast! This restaurant started as a family fruit and vegetable farm. They still have the farm, and use the vegetables and berries they grow to make the food. They have a vast array of homemade pies, so, trying the chicken pot pie seemed like the right choice. It was! Though my husband's grass fed burger was eye rollingly good too! They make jams syrups and spreads out of a hybrid berry that is fantastic! I bought several jars of the stuff! The owner decorated the place with vintage bikes. It's funny, friendly and all the plates we looked at from other diners looked amazing. We will return!!! read more

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon to try the famous Ollalieberry pie and immediately understood the hype! The pie had a flaky crust and was the perfect mix of sweet & tart. I would highly recommend getting it with a scoop of icecream. This is a restaurant but has a bakery/gift shop area where you can buy slices on-the-go. The staff were super friendly, quick, and accommodating. I was filming an IG reel so they put in the extra effort to plate it nicely for me. I'm not much of a pie person but was pleasantly surprised with Linn's. If you are in the Cambria area, I would definitely recommend to stop in for a sweet treat! read more
