I've read the other reviews and you can't always control the outside environment. I also consider how many reviews that individual has written and also whether their reviews are all negative or if there's a good range. The interior is nice and the food presentation is also very decent. Staff was helpful and pleasant. I usually go through and take one of each item I might like, to try it before getting a whole serving. I need a good batch! Sushi was average. I took pictures of all of the food stations. The descriptions are on the top of the glass guard so they won't be visible in the photos. My basic favorites were the salt pepper fried shrimp, teriyaki chicken, probably because these are solid and consistent. Good execution on the fry, not too floury or greasy. They also had some surprisingly good tilapia, cut in large crosspieces and lightly pan fried. I'm not a huge seafood person but they had fried crab clusters, clams, shrimp boil (seasoning will not be at a specialty standard), cold shrimp, salt pepper shrimp, fried butterfly shrimp, a few other shrimp offerings, baked salmon, fried fish sticks, pan fried tilapia, baked fish, I feel like I saw some octopus? Rarely do I feel like I just don't want to stuff myself at a buffet, but I tapped out pretty quickly here. Now, to be fair, their food wasn't *bad*, but it just wasn't as impressive as other places. Especially their sushi offerings- they know that most of the people eating here aren't going in for a solid selection of nigiri, so they have plenty of rolls, but that's about it. Their dessert selection was quite small as well. Comparison is the death of joy, but when deciding where to go for a buffet it's hard not to compare the various options in the Valley. For our money, we'll be going elsewhere. Service was fine, as far as buffets go, but the ambiance might not appeal to everyone. As another reviewer wrote, there was a man panhandling in the parking lot, but considering the area that probably won't be a huge turnoff to most potential clientele. If you live close and like a nice buffet, then come on by and give 'em a shot, but if you're driving in from somewhere else, maybe consider other options. read more

OK, the last time I reviewed this it wasn't that great and I had decided I would never go to this specific location again. When they first opened many years ago, they were awesome. And I used to go at least three times a month with my family I decided to give them another try because they had remodeled last year and I figured maybe things got better. Nope it actually got worse. I went in at 3 PM on a Thursday so for one adult with a drink, it cost me a little over $20. I was seated fairly fast the sushi was just ok, I did not do the Mongolian barbecue because there weren't that many options.. I started off with some Mi Fun and a few pieces of everything else that I would've considered eating. With the exception of the sesame chicken and the teriyaki chicken all the other chicken was extremely dry. The tilapia fish was so over fried (or had sit there so long?) that the fish was dried out and the outer part and skin was so dry.. I would've thought that they had tried to dehydrate this. It was so dried out . It was just hard and I was unable to even chew it for fear of breaking my teeth. The pepper beef had no bell pepper in it the few pieces I had either were all fat or were so stringy too bad too because the sauce was tasty, even though it didn't have any bell pepper taste to it. I ended up spitting it into my napkin. the majority of my food I ended up spitting into a napkin or back onto my plate. The only saving grace was their barbecued ribs, which were moist juicy and had a thick sticky coating on it. So much so I had to ask for some water so I could wet a napkin and wipe my hands. But it was good. The worst part is halfway through my meal a man sat down in the booth in front of me, pulled out a large Bluetooth speaker and started playing Hispanic news and music. It was loud enough that it drowned out the sound of the loud music that was coming from the restaurant speakers. I did complain about this to the people at the front desk as I was leaving. And they said "oh the guy with the speaker?" Which meant that they knew he had a speaker and was playing it. The same gentleman that was playing the speaker had gotten up in the middle of his meal when he went to get food and stopped to talk to a bunch of different people sitting down at different tables, but I was unable to tell what they were saying as it was not English. But the guests he would talk to seemed bothered/uncomfortable. Oh, on a sidenote there was somebody panhandling sitting against the building in front of the handicap parking spaces playing music on his guitar. I had hoped after the remodel that the restaurant would clean up its act and at least make people have the illusion of safety. But the parking lot just doesn't feel safe. And the whole experience was just very frustrating for me. So my attempt to give this company one more try was a big failure. I have now put this on my "never go again" list. read more

The food is always good here, and you can get sushi, steak, Mongolian barbecue, along with the standard Chinese food. It's a little on the higher price and expect to spend $20-$25 per person, but in my opinion, well worth it. read more

Visited 5:31/2022 Dinner for two with a great selection and variety of a menu. Everything looked tasty but sadly most everything was Way Overcooked to the point you couldn't chew it. The one saving grace was The Mongolian BBQ. Fantastic flavors and being fresh cooked when ordered it was a winner. The service was very good and prompt. I came to this location for first time Oct 28, 2023 for dinner at 6:30 pm. I am attending a weekend event at Comfort Suites at W. Camelback and the 101, where I have to stay overnight. So I thought to see if there was a Lins Grand buffet where I could eat dinner. I think Lins is good value when I eat all the seafood items and steak only for senior price of $15.49 incl tax. When I walk in, there are large parties seated in the lobby while the restaurant looks ransacked because most of the tables are unoccupied, but it is obvious the parties left, cos no one is sitting there, and the dishes and dirty napkins in themare piled so high, seems no one took the done plates away the entire time the the party stayed there. I got seated right away, cos I am only one person. My favorite items to eat here is first, I thinkins has the best fried zucchini ever. It is very crispy and inside is hot and liquidy. Next is the flame broiled steak, cooked just the way I want it, rare. I like the fried fish fillets with tarter sauce even tho tilapia is the most unhealthiest fish you could eat, I only eat it a few times a year, at Lins in Tucson. I stay there for the big gem and mineral show in February and eat dinner at Lins almost every night I am attending the show. I keep eating the same things I mentioned. Tonight at my first time at this location, so many bins like the fish fillet and clams in black bean sauce remain empty every time I go up and look and I've been here 2 hours now. Two hours later, the tables around me are still not cleaned, I am eating on the upper deck where there are tables for larger parties I'm eating here alone. All around me are the dirty tables and food all over the floor kind of an appetizing not good eating atmosphere but the employee is working on it in front of my eyes he's sweeping the floor and things are looking better. I don't like the food and cleanliness at this Lins over the Tucson one and the one in way East Mesa around Sossaman and McDowell. Ike the soup spoons here are all clouded over, I keep picking another but have to resign to no better. When I get to my table and dip it in water and polish it with my napkin it does clean up. Pink lemonade is red from the bottom it tastes like a little bit like lemonade. The food is good but the octopus is a little bit spicy but still good tho. The service is good the guy is really nice. We ate dinner on weeknights and on a Sunday night. The is a wide selection of food to chose from. The food was tasty and good. The servers were always attentive and friendly taking away the plates and refilling our drinks. We sat once on the upper deck on a Sunday night and it was very busy after people left. Our server was busy attending to patrons while all the tables around us will not cleaned or cleared of the pile of dishes. When we finished and left we noticed that the main dining area had many uncleared tables as well while the front lobby had many guests waiting to be seated. On Sunday nite they call out your wait number and we didn't wait long. On the weeknights we didn't wait at all. The parking lot is filthy with strewn trash in some areas. My wife likes this place and I come with her because I drive the bus Average at best food but a good variety. They also have a Mongolian Grill that's not to bad. The big problem is very few items are marked correctly. The shrimp was marked French Fries and Hot and Spicy Soup was marked Egg Drop. Only one of the meat items in the Mongolian Grill was marked, not sure if today was mystery day or just too lazy to make sure everything is marked correctly. So while vacationing in Arizona, we decided to visit this place for dinner. The truth is I was having second thoughts because of covid-19. Well, to our surprise this place implemented extra measures to avoid contamination. The waiters wear masks and instead of using standard plates for one's food, diners use paper plates and also plastic gloves. So when you go back for seconds, you get rid of the paper plate you used and get a new one for however many times you go back. The food was good, as usual as what a buffet should be. They seemed to have some okay choices at a solid buffet price: their breaded-chicken lineup seemed to have a decent flavor. However, the huge red flag that prompted us to get a refund and leave ASAP was that nearly all of their food was either lukewarm or cold--even though there was steam billowing underneath the containers. Putting a piece of cold meat into your mouth from a buffet line is pretty revolting and warrants a health inspection. It has been over a year since I visited this location. The last time I ate here, something was missing. I did not know what it was. I did not realize that one person could make such a difference in an atmosphere. I walked in today, and the place seemed brighter. I looked around and saw that amazing smile that lit the entire place up. It was Denisse. She takes pride in her work. She is friendly. I have never seen anything but a smile on her face. I am sure she has bad days, but it NEVER shows. She could be serving bowls of sand, and I would pay just to see her Godly glow. Best waitress this side of the Mississippi. The food is good, but I visit restaurants to people watch. I laugh when I see delivery recipients complain. It is Chinese food. It does not last in a bag on a car seat. hostess was rude, no one the entire time we were there was waiting on our table,( no taking the plates ) it was a small table and 4 of us so we sat the empty plates on the table beside us that someone had just left , table had not been cleaned yet. Hostess runs over and says you can't do that and puts the dirty dishes back on our table with one of the dirty ones sliding onto a fresh plate of food and when I tried to stop the plate from sliding she grabs it and yanks it from my hands, completely uncalled for, she could have just took the plates and avoided being a bi*** and yes when mgt reads this you will know who left it , also flys were everywhere all the food and health department needs to go in and really check out the unsanitary conditions, will never return and will spread the word about bugs on the food read more

This place isn't following the CDC Guidelines. The staff are using their own personal containers and spoons. Not knowing if it's clean or not. Customers are walking around with their masks off or fully covering their nose and mouth. Breathing over the food. Customer are also reusing their plates knowing damn well they have to dispose of the plates and use a new one, but clearly no one here cares. No manager was seen on sight and keeping a close eye. Buffets are buffets. It is either a hit or miss. And when I had dinner here, it was pretty good. Food was on point and was quickly refilled when a tray was empty. The steaks were awesome, not too dry and not too bloody. The dessert bar is no Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan, but the chocolate cake was definitely good. Did not try the sushi bar, so no comment there. But everything else was good. I really enjoyed the noodle, baby octopus and orange chicken. I know, really basic. Ahahaha. Went the week of august 22. Upon entering. (2) females at the front desk couldn't answer simple questions due to a language barrier... not a good sign. Food was good, I really enjoyed the sweet buns towards the back of the buffet. Sauces were hard to find and utensils weren't re stocked at the rate on a weekday dinner around 7-8 pm. What made my husbands and my time was there is one server that refills the drinks, young oriental man that he appeared to be the only one working that night. He is prompt, personable, even took the time to chat with a regular guest upon my observances. Works briskly and he still has a good attitude. I hope he gets a promotion or a raise. Please hire more staff with that personally. A good experience at this lins. If I don't get to come here next time in Arizona, I will sure still make this a must go. read more
