Lions Choice has always been one of my main favorites and I've never been let down by any location! The turkey, the roast beef, all of it is amazing. I prefer the turkey or roast beef with Swiss & extra seasoning paired with their broccoli cheddar soup and a lemonade. Make sure to check out the condiment station & grab one of each great sauces! (especially, the horseradish) they're always friendly when I visit and the food is always a great temperature with a lighting which is easy on the eyes. We have also been blessed when their food truck was at a school event - awesome surprise! Our daughter loves the ham and swiss. I'm partial to the tried and true roast beef, which on special occasions I'll top off with their wonderful aux joux. Lion's Choice has offered a phone app for a few years now, and it's handy for creating new orders and ordering your favorite from the last visit(s). They happened to send a notification that it was national ice cream day a couple weeks ago, and that was all I needed to visit the drive through. It's been a while since we had enjoyed one of their cones... and I understand they have recently improved their recipe... they have soft serve custard in a cone... it is oh so good... while the roast beef and fries were still nice and hot when we pulled into the driveway at home, the custard cone disappeared before the odometer recorded a full mile out of the parking lot! :) The staff was wonderfully friendly, as usual on this fine summer day. Forget something every-time I go. Lions choice is not the cheapest food option so it would be nice to receive all the items ordered. Last time they forgot 2 whole sandwiches in a four sandwich order. Went here tonight at 7:45 and drive thru no answer after sitting there 10 minutes with four cars behind me. I yelled hello like four times with no answer. I made an account here just to post this out of pure frustration with this company, and especially this location. I've been going to Lion's Choice since I was 9. I used to love going there for the ice cream and hot dogs. But the last couple years the quality has dipped. Every time without fall they screw up something. Last time I went to this location on Manchester they have me a hot dog I insisted it wasn't supposed to be half blended she said she would make a new one. To which I watched her take the same shake back to the machine and run it through the mixer again. Another girl handed the shake to me with a new lid and it still is half blended. I didn't want to continue dealing with it so I just thanked her and left. Attached will be a picture of the shake. The only thing that's consistent and good are the fries. But they aren't good enough to give me a reason to come back. At least not to this location. If you want Lions Choice I'd recommend the Jeffco location over this or the on off Clarkson rd. A St Louis original since 1967 and this is my first time trying Lion's Choice. I'll say this; processed roast beef is really not my thing, but as a former employee of Arby's; Lion's Choice is a little bit better but not by much. 1/5 Original Large Roast Beef: Size was ok but it was noon and my 4oz of roast beef had a lil too much choo- choo action on it for it to be so early. Why is that? Oh I know ask the former Arby's guy... The answer is "heavy heat lamp action" on the slab of beef being sliced. What saved it from being dry was the season action they put on it. 2/5 Regular Fries: They are on the cusp of the only thing good out of Penn Station... their fries!!! However, these taste more frozen than fresh cut ...so I have to take off points Overall, I probably won't be back but I would recommend it over Arby's... Gotta Support your Local!!! read more

I love a Lion's Choice roast beef sandwhich and especially from the original Lion's Choice location! I ordered two orignal roast beefs; one with provel (when in STL) and one with cheddar. It had the perfect salty flavor on the bun and meat. The simple combo of the roast beef, bun, and cheese hits the spot. This is the best fast food around. Lion's Choice also is very consistent across its store locations. The original location in Ballwin to the new location at 103rd and Metcalf in Kansas both give you a very good quality sandwhich. I've always loved Lions Choice, but recently, at least at this location, the quality has suffered. The last 3 times I've been in, the roast beef has been over cooked, dried out and chewy, not the usual rare, moist, tender and flavorful it has been (and should be). They make the best roast beef sandwich you're ever gonna eat. Period. When you normally think of roast beef sandwiches at restaurants, you think of something that is 'less than.' Not this. You could slave away for hours making the best roast beef in your own kitchen, put it on awesome bread, and it wouldn't even compare to this. Yea, the price is a bit high, but it's on par with nicer fast food and yet blows all other competition out of the water. The way the meat melds with the bun is amazing. Their fries are also different than any other fast food place, and by that I mean that they're much better. I don't know exactly how to describe them other than this: awesome. I was impressed with food quality here. I ordered a king beef sandwich with fries and a dip cone. It's a bit pricey for the combo (9.70) but the roast beef is slightly better than Arby's. it's juicier than most roast beef. I ordered the sandwich with provolone chees which made it so much better. The fries are crispy much like Burger King's, but thinner. They go well with the sweet and smokey bbq sauce. The dip cone is amazing for just 0.31 topped with chocolate and vanilla ice cream in the center. Why not 4 stars? It's a bit pricier for the food. The quality is decent and better than most fast food but it is still fast food. I would go for a group setting but wouldn't be my first choice of restaurants. read more

When I think of roast beef, I think of all the times I felt sick after eating 4 Beef-N-Cheddar sandwiches for $5 at Arbys. Those darn coupons always get me! But alas! Lion's Choice was so much different! First of all, the name just sounds majestic. I feel like the meat was delivered fresh from Simba himself. Or Nala. I hear all the females do the hunting anyway. But seriously, the meat is so tender and succulent, it makes you make that awkward moaning sound because something is so delicious. Don't act like you don't know! The many different sauces also make the place appealing. You know horseradish is a must. They also have different sandwiches like BBQ Pork, Beef, Hot Ham, Turkey, but you got to just stick with the King's Beef. I don't know how it's different, but if it's fit for a king, then it's good enough for me. The only downside is that it's not 24 hours, and the beverage selection is not great for making a delicious graveyard. But if that's the only downside, it gets an A in my book. Well, A-. read more

I have been a Lion's choice customer for years. The last 6 times going to the Ballwin location has been very disappointing. The roast beef is dry and tough, and the fries have been even more disappointing! Either they are only half cooked and and soggy, or ice cold. I have kept going back thinking that it was just a one time thing, but it actually got wI don't think I will give them any more of my business. Let me say that the low rating is for the portions. The ffod is good but I'm pretty upset about how small the sandwiches are. I just paid over $8 for a combo, and there is virtually no meat on the sandwich and the fries are the smallest size bag with a few fries in it. Low review is based on portion size. I just paid $1.65 for an ice cream cone. The first cone given to me, the ice cream was so melted it was dripping down the cone and onto the server's hands. I asked if there might be a problem with the machine, and could he try to make another cone, the server was put out, threw the cone in the trash and asked another server to draw a cone for me. The second cone, the ice cream was a bit more firm but barely enough ice cream to justify the price. By the time I got to the cone, I was already on the road but had I not been, I would have taken it back as well. The cone was stale. My last trip to Lion's Choice.
