Reservations aren't required but it would be a good idea since this place brings many birthday and bachelorette celebrations. It's run like a well oiled machine. The "waitresses" are prompt and friendly and get your food and drinks in a timely manner without you feeling rushed. The food is good and kinda pricey and so are the drinks. What is well worth it is the ENTERTAINMENT! These "ladies" give you a SHOW. Be sure to bring tip money because you will kick yourself if you don't. So I was prepared not to be wowed by the food. And I was not. But I did expect a really great show. And maybe I am hard to please but......I just felt like the show was the performers walking around for tips. And really, that's not impressive. We went for Sunday brunch and I chickend out of the chicken and waffle and got the Eggs Benedict. I ate it because I was starving but please believe it was just okay. Folks in my group ordered the steak which I think fared much better and the chicken and waffle was okay too. The place was packed, mainly with women of course. But large parties are not a problem because they set up the tables to accommodate the large groups with no problem. They spend a portion of the evening acknowledging birthdays and brides to be or whatever else you may be celebrating. There were so many on that Sunday that it took a long time and jest became boring. The show consisted of the queens lip synching to gospel songs. Now don't get me wrong, some of the entertainers were really good and put their back into it. Others just walked around with a mic and a hand out. The MC was very funny and kept the show going. As a drag connoisseur, I take female impersonation very seriously. I've been known to watch drag shows that have lasted as long as 8 hours. Yes, 8 hours (RIP Backstreet Atlanta). Speaking of Backstreet, I was over the moon when I heard about Mr. Charlie Brown's new Taboo Show on Saturday nights. The ads say "If you loved Backstreet, you'll love Buford Highway." Well, notsomuch... First, the show is significantly shorter than the X-Rated Cabaret show at Backstreet. Also, the folks celebrating birthdays and weddings weren't celebrated like they are at Lips. They were quickly ridiculed by the likes of Raven or Heather Daniels... and it only took 90 seconds to read them for filth and then get them off stage. Lips allows everyone with a birthday to wear a Burger King crown and then pose with two drag queens as they blow out the candle on a cupcake. Also, I wasn't expecting the late night show to also include dinner. I had just left a party and only wanted to find a place to continue drinking to maintain a buzz. Don't make me feel bad (or hold up the show for the other people who ordered full meals) for not choosing from the dinner menu. When the bill came we were fully expecting to pay for all the alcohol that was consumed. We weren't expecting a $10 cover that was charged for 9 people (despite having a 6 person group). I would have been cool with the cover had it been addressed upfront, but even the valet folks said there wasn't a cover. read more

I highly recommend Lips! We went to celebrate remission and girl's family night out. We had such a great time! Our server was friendly and so sweet to my cousin and me about our remission. They made us feel special when they brought us up to the stage. So thankful for that! The food tasted great and it was brought out quickly. We all enjoyed what we ordered and even had leftovers. I had read some reviews, so we knew to have dollar bills for when the performers came around. Make sure you bring lots of 1's or some 5's to tip them. They deserve it! I went to lips for the first time last Saturday for my friend's bachelorette! I had heard that it was fun but, I've been to drag shows before so wasn't expecting to be impressed. We got seated quickly and Michelle was our server. She was amazing! It's craziness in there and she was on it. We got our food and salad at the same time Wichita was weird but I get that their kitchen is prob crazy. My chicken parmigiana was actually really good and my peach drink. Michelle was also the best performance of the night! Go Michelle!!!!! Only complaint was the bar. Went up there to order shots. $10 each. We were charged $160 for 12 shots and while up there watched the bar tender get fired and the bar hand give us stuff to make our own shots because he didn't know how. The Deets: I know I need to finish my homework but I had to get this out while it's still fresh in my mind. My friend had some homegirls in town and they wanted to check this out. It's tough to get reservations for a Friday or Saturday night but it's good that they do accept them. As a matter of fact, I think you need to make them. After getting through the valet situation, you walk in and there's a host area. My friends were already inside so I found them and had a seat. The crowd was a nice mixture but mostly females and gay men. The food ordering and eating takes place first and then the show starts eventually. Our reservations were for 630 and I think the show started around 8. I couldn't stay for the whole thing because I needed to get home and do my homework (even though I'm typing this instead SMH). They do a cool birthday celebration and take a picture with you and the host. I would say go ready to spend about $50 between food, a drink and tips. Maybe more. It was a cool experience overall. I would give the show experience a 5 and the food a 2 which is why I am giving them a three. If they could step their food game up they'd really do great. Check them out for yourself! The food and drinks are great as well and they have gluten free options. When we got there the atmosphere was friendly, upbeat and up scale. Since we went around Valentines day they had the whole place designed for this day. It was beautiful. We went for my friends bachelorette party and it was very fun. There was singing, entertainment, dancing, a lot of laughs and fun filled adult fun. The drinks were perfect as well and had fun little names for each one. Let's face it. We don't come here for the food. So let's get that out of the way. The food was ok. Standard fare. Nothing special. Things were over fried or overcooked. The best thing about their gospel brunch was the eggs Benedict and even that was just ok. Their drinks are on the pricey side and somewhat altered down. Now onto the real meat of this review. The queens. The gospel brunch was almost 2.5 hours long and except for a couple of hiccup performances, the entire production was incredible. I have to commend bubbaDlicious. Her personality was larger than life and she was completely inappropriate. Service was amazing and the staff was incredibly accommodating. The venue just off Buford highway has a dedicated valet service which is complimentary. The interior is colorful, lively, over the top which fits the personality of the characters delving within. I would've given this place a 5 star review if the food was somewhat better. However, there is no denying the entertainment value of this place. For the price of admission of a regular entree at a decent restaurant, you get 2.5 hours of amazing entertainment. Please go. You will not regret it. read more

These ladies are very patient. My crew came in and got twisted. We deserved the mean looks some of the dancers gave us but thankfully we didn't get kicked out. We weren't disrespectful but we were loud, danced in the isles and one of our girls thought she was a performer. We had a ball! The drinks range from $5 shots to $10+ drinks. The food ranges from $8-$17 for plates, apps and meals. Now the drinks are fruity and they are ok. I wouldn't call them weak but I wouldn't call them strong. The food is just ok too. It can be bland, don't expect gourmet just gourmet prices. Yet I always come back to this place for more. Why? The entertainment is pretty good. They have mediocre dances and they have high energy dancers that could put Beyonce to shame. This place caters to ladies (big surprise), expect lots of makeup, high heals and big hair. Expect lip sync songs from Rihanna, Beyonce, etc. They keep it tasteful except for the loud mouth Charlie that leads the show, cusses like a sailor, and acts like a self proclaimed "whore". Love it! I used to follow Charlie in Backstreet and the failed Charlie's Cabaret in underground. Expect a cover charge of about $10 and a food/drink minimum of $10-15. However the ladies take tips (as one Yelper mentioned it does seem like they prefer to gather tips than entertain). They need to work on a plan so it doesn't take away from the performance. That being said, be careful you don't blow your $ on tips and then have no clue how to cover the steep food and drink charges. They only take one CC per bill, and never split checks. If they want more $ coming in they need to work on that. Each time I've come it makes a mess to try and cover the bill with one CC and take cash (who has cash now a days anyway). Last of all, I came last summer and this year they had the same songs and acts with very few new ideas. If you want your fans coming back for more, you gotta change it up! Ladies feel free to bring a fella though they will tear him up (make sure he enjoys a Trans sexy female shaking her tata's in his face). Expect 99% of the audience to be birthdays and bachlorette's. They honor them on stage (good for them) but they drag it out way to much some nights. Overall come for a raunchy, sexy, slutty show. My love for Lips Atlanta has no limits. I still stand by my statement that if I could get a condo built right on top, I'd rarely leave because I enjoy it so much. I used to go at least 2-3 times a month and then my scheduled changed making it very difficult to be there but I went back last night for another dose of Showstoppers. It's my second time at this specific Sunday night show (was there for the big reveal). Sunday nights (even before this series) was one of my favourite nights at Lips. It's spectacular and feels very fresh. Several icons from the entertainment community were there including Savannah Leigh. I really enjoyed being in her presence. Monica Van Pelt and the entire team do an outstanding job. There are new cast members in the mix and they all were superb! My friends had a hard time leaving when the show ended at 10pm. They wanted to stay and watch some more. Like I said, if I could build a condo on top, I would rarely leave. We have often just stayed through 3 seatings on Saturdays and came back for the Gospel Brunch the next day. Lips Atlanta is always LIT and legit! I loved the one in NYC but Atlanta takes the cake! Food was GREAT as always - I had my two of my favourite dishes, Lobster Ravioli and Crab Cakes. I see that the names of items on the menu have changed a bit - dishes have been renamed according to the new members that are present. I would prefer they keep the spirit of all the entertainers (past and present) on the menu in some way or another but I'm being petty. I wanted to order my meal twice so I could have it for lunch the next day but again, I'm being "extra." The drinks were strong and delicious, I can still taste them and I want another right now. I might have to go back this week and just have a drink cause that's some good stuff! My favourite bartender was there. It's a very kind young lady who used to work with Jonathan (I think that's his name). The staff was angelic as they always are. Love seeing Justice, Monica, Elea, Elektra, Envy and several new people. Shavonna happened to be around and that was the icing on the cake. I enjoyed chats with one of the managers (he's been there about 2 years) and of course, again, seeing Savannah Leigh in all her glory was just the ultimate comfort. I could stare at her all day. She's super classy. I love them all. Really enjoyed the new cast members energy - they went all out! I miss Mr. Stephen. I'll have to go on Saturday and hopefully see everyone. It just feels like family in there. A big getaway with excitement for days. I drove home completely speechless at how good I felt (and no it wasn't the alcohol - it was the energy and kindness of the staff). I will take a moment to address some of these other reviews from this month...Ms. Jackie, I hope you feel better. I wonder if you mixed your alcohol? I have one of THE MOST sensitive tummies and this is one place that I can enjoy without worry. Hayward, I'm thinking that was an isolated situation. Very rare. To all the other 4-5 stars, isn't it awesome?!! Every establishment in this town needs a bit of their magic on it. Lips needs to bottle up their secret sauce and sell it! LOVE YOU!!!! You have no idea what you do for your fans...I could talk about you all for days. *Please note that any review that is not 4-5 stars (I've read them all, I'm a mega fan, always looking to connect with new fans to add to the Lips ATL unofficial fan club), all have a running theme - they don't want to pay x amount of money. This isn't fast food so you're not going get a McLips burger. You're going to get at least $15 worth of burger and sides and it will be large enough to cover the plate. All dishes arrive in oversized plates and are almost spilling over with delicious amounts of food. I have an Instagram account to prove it. Read the website carefully and noticed how payment for meals is accepted. Dining out in general has changed, going out does require some research no matter where you go. Read websites, find out about the experience from the site so you don't arrive expecting you can just walk in with your entire family tree and be seated or that all 25 people in your party can pull out credit cards. There are only so many accepted per table - the last time I remember it was 4 per party. People are bringing over 10 people per table and expecting to leave paying $9.99 total for drinks and food. That's now how this works. There are prices clearly stated and it's customary to tip. Lips is filled with an incredible amount of good energy and really good food. The drinks are spot on; not death defyingly strong like some mentioned....they must be used to theirs being watered down. We did not expect the food to be so good; assumed it was all about the show and less about cuisine...we were very surprised with the dishes. As soon as our group of 14 were seated we had 4 servers asking for our drink order, drinks received within 10 minutes, then we ordered apps and dinner. Our group ordered a wide variety, favorites included: Apps: calamari, pot stickers, and artichoke dip; served hot and big enough to share with 4 people. Entrees: Boneless grilled chicken over mash potatoes, grilled salmon with choice of veggies, spaghetti bolognese, the filet and the burger. All were nice size portions, well seasoned, and no one felt cheated or hungry. The service was fantastic! One of my clients works for a company that decorates restaurants in which I had been told by her about a year ago about this place so I figured I'd check it out what the hell, right? I didn't know what to expect and was a little nervous but all in all it was great! We couldn't make the 9:30pm show and was told that the next show at 11:30pm was a bit more raunchy than the other shows. The inside was beautiful and the queens were gorgeous!! I loved their outfits, hair, makeup everything. PROS: the seating was easy, the stage was in great view. Our hostess was prompt and courteous, I ordered the sampler, kick the bitch to the curb and kamikazes. All in which were good! The kamikazes come with souvenir lip cups which I had to have. The show was amazing, interactive etc. I got called to the stage which was the highlight of the night for me, and had a great picture taken to bring home. The valet is pay what you wish to pay which I thought was awesome. Cons: The show started a hour late and they put your whole party bill in one, they don't do separate checks so if your paying individually don't forget your calculator! I read the reviews before going last night (Friday) for a friend's bday. I wasn't sure what to expect from the mixed reviews but it ended up being really great. Our waitress was attentive even though it was packed. I had the Kick A Bitch from the bar and it was really good! And the food at the table was hit or miss. Two of our party sent theirs back, and the staff wasn't nasty about it. They didn't charge for it. As for the rest of us, the food ranged from alright to pretty good. The stuffed chicken was really good. We were a party of 12, and the check wasn't an issue because from reading the reviews we all knew to bring cash (to simplify paying at the end and also to tip the performers!!!) Now, the performance was AMAZING. I've been to tons of drag bars in DC and NYC and the girls Lips Atlanta were very impressive, to say the least. Charlie Brown was EV ER Y THING! So, yeah, you're definitely paying more so for the entertainment experience, but it's worth it. I wasn't disappointed. It's a good place to celebrate a bday or engagement. We went to LIPS for my early Birthday Dinner and had a BLAST!!! The show was awesome!!! It was easy to make reservations (and you have to...they fill up fast!). They give you a crown for you birthday and call you up on stage for a minute for a picture (which they put in a card for you!) with the performers and also give you a little cake! Yes, it's $10, but who cares, it's your Birthday! Our server was the best performer!!! The food was good, not great. It's kind of just regular restaurant fare. Nothing special, but not bad. Great time at LIPS Atlanta!! The food was ok nothing to rave about. The experience was fun. It was well worth the time. I had a burger and fries and it wasn't anything spectacular ,but it was edible. They had bottomless mimosas for an $6 which wasn't bad. My friend had the chicken and waffles and she thought it was ok , again nothing to rave about. Fun time! read more
